1. If you have pictures of both sides would be good. 2. Majority of homes have 4 sides. If it is standalone home (bungalow) then 4 sides. If it is a semi-detached home than 3 sides to consider as the "facing" direction. For terrace home only 2 sides. 3. Often, if the "back" of the home has the washingarea/ washing machines, kitchen (wet and or dry) and rooms said as spare, guestor maid'sroom and toilets; then most likely, this area standing inside the home facing out of this areais not the"facing" direction". 4. Facing direction shouldoften preferably to "light" airy and bright. No need to measure windows, a visual look of how many openings and how much light comes in …

Dear Anon, The Flying Star theory can usually tell that #2 is the sickness star. More investigative work need to be `carried' out and other Geomancy theories would be required e.g. Pillars can analyse a person's element components and even `predict' which part of the body, one would most likely have health problems with. Other causes would also be where a person stays in a house with underground water directly below or near to e.g the bed. If one does not live in a landed property, this would not likely be the `cause'. There are other disciplines that can be used to cross reference the above but currently, they are not directly related to Feng Shui so not followed up. Wa…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I checked my 10-year cycle chart and found that years 1972 to 1981 were the by far the best years. I noticed that it was green cow with earth stem. Please use this link to determine whether you are weak or strong fire. Dear Anon, There are two key issues here: 1. One should activate the `Water star' in the living room. Here, low furnitures or uncluttered furntiure helps. 2. Chinese antique furniture If it is an antique furniture, where possible check the history of furniture piece. I understand that it is quite difficult here. But old furniture had in the past absorbed Qi from its surroundings. Too many `antique' furniture is said to result in or some Feng shui practioners felt that it would result in "conservative thinking." 3. Similiarly, a house should be proportionate in size i.e. the living room must not be too large in relation to other rooms. In the opinion of some Feng Shui Mas…

Dear Anon, Frankly, this is not a traditional cure. I can understand the rationale for using salt to be placed at corners. This practice is done by some "English" priests or astrologers. But lets view it realistically. It is real hard to apply this `cure'. It looks ugly and furthermore, there should be a chemical reaction between copper and salt. It is not advisable to use this combination. If, I am not mistaken, small amounts of electricity could be produced for a short while. (Correct me if I am wrong). Warmest Regards, Cecil

DearChong Hoi, Chan Chong Hoi wrote: My masterbedroom is in the NW 'death direction' and my best sleeping direction is east 'prosperity direction'. Should I sleep with head facing east not withstanding the bedhead is in NW position. There is nothing much you can do about the room being your death sector unless you there is an alternative bedroom for you to sleep in that is more suitable. At least, you are sleeping in East facing position which will help to offset the death sector issue. The other thing you can do is to ensure you boost your own ba zi luck by choosing the colour scheme favourable to your ba zi element. Of course you also need to be careful that certain…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I heard from my friend that since i have a Chye, 'cai ', in my name, i should display the word 'cai ' at home. I was told that the 'cai' is to be placed upside down, paste on the wall. Then put a vaseor container with some coins inside and place iton the floor under the 'cai '. This will help to generate wealth for me? Is it true? Please advise me on my wealth location. Thanks. Frankly, this isn't correct. Whatever meaning your name has, can't be activated by placing something in your home. The meaning in your name is only so call 'activated' when people call your name. It is not activated by any other means. That is why when most people choo…

Dear Constance, constance king wrote: hello, i would just want to know if someone with fire element, is it alright to have an aquarium ? thanks so much for all your helpful informations. If you are a weak fire, then water won't be good for you. So not advisable to have an aquarium if possible. If you are a strong fire, then water will help to destroy your excess fire element. Then, it is perfectly fine to have an aquarium. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Lip Seong, 1. Sorry to learn about your situation. 2. Your landed property seems to be a terrace "type of home" where qi enters from either North "backyard" area or South "frontage". 3. In general, based on my quick look at your layout plan:- As qi comes into your home from either North or South, unfortunately, under current Period 8, this North sector or the back of your home is influenced by :- MS #7 with WS #7 and Base = #3 In general, Flying star is based on qi flow and unfortunately, there are double #7 which under this current period is "theft-loss of wealth" sector influenced by bad #3 = career / romance / issues 4. Thus, to "plug this leak" coming fro…

Dear Glyn, Usually, the most important consideration is when one is moving in i.e. the date one moves into the house is the most important date to `note'. For changing of the hot plates, some over zealous people, may look at the dates but, in my opinion, it is not that important. All these falls under `Chinese beliefs and customs' rather then FS. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yew-Meng, 1. Further to what I had mentioned earlier, one reader had recently wrote something like this:- " I cannot see the resemblance of roads as equal to water courses ". 2. It is good to bear in mind what the above user had wrote. 3. It is not often or that every other house has large water positions around their homes. And for this reason, and the fact that as the above user had correctly questioned whether can we treat all roads as equvalent to water courses? Like any other Shapes and Form, each home or building has to be looked at individually. And something as `fantastic' as Water Dragon Feng Shui may seem out-of-place if there are really no real water at…

Dear Sumatra, 1. To side-track, for those who are interested in some pictures or short write ups on `The Sterling' which is a condominium in a triangle plot, feel free search for the above topic under the conference: Photo Tours of Interest with Pictures. Use the " SEARCH " feature under this Forum to search for " Sterling ". This is one exceptional traingle plot that has some units that have excellent Feng Shui. 2. For a triangle plot of land, if it is pointy at the backyard, usually, a lamp is placed at the pointy area to difuse the triangle. 3. Landscaping. For example, semi-circular or landscaped area where one can grow different types of plants within the landscaped …

Thank you Master Lee for you reply. While your explanations were well understood, some other questions/need for clarification have come up. The situation I am dealing with is that in the SE of the house (Zhen 288 degrees facing built in 2001) the office is located on the first floor and the master bedroom is above it on the second floor. Consequently we spend nearly all our hours, both waking and asleep in the SE. Further, in the office there are two small walls (one with a black piece of furniture on it) that are painted in a deep berry red color. The master bedroom has primarily Wood and Earth elements (mostly through color) with a small amountof Metal (metal headboar…

Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: From the research I have done it seems I may have what is called a 'black stream' flowing under my propery/home. How do i balance this. Frankly, these probably has to do with the way underground water has over your home. Similiar to this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.htm The only true way to not be influenced by it, is frankly to move out to a better location without this issue. Because, if not if you continue to live in such a homes, health will be affected in a matter of time. Any solutions/items if any will only be slowing down the influence, not completely removing the negative influence from such a problem…

Dear Anon, Frankly, this may not be a good idea. Real water in the room, in my opinion, may harbour germs. Plus you had also mentioned dampness in the bedroom. Especially since, this water is not cleaned at all. In my opinion, I do not see a problem with a TV set in the bedroom: 1. Many of us read too many Feng Shui books `warning' us about having a tv set in the bedroom. The chief reason is: that the screen `acts' like a mirror. 2. But I have often mentioned that, this is not an issue for many people. 3. There are many people who have shifted home, or placed a tv set in their bedroom. And, do we ever hear of "Mr A moved to a new home. Placed a tv set in this bedroom. He …

Dear Anon, Basically, in terms of bed placement. You should follow these priority:- 1. It is most important that the bedroom is located at the one of the 4 good directions based on the Eight House concept. Meaning that if you divide the house from the centerpoint, your bedroom should be located West (in your case). As long as the bedroom is in a good sector, the issue of the bed position becomes less of an issue, as regardless of where you actually sleep, you are still sleeping in a suitable sector of the house. 2. As rooms are small now-a-days, so it is frankly, very difficult for most people to have the luxuary to arrange furnitures so that it can fit the best placem…

Dear Anon, In feng shui, as long as you cannot see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. In your case, given that you cannot do much about the arrangement or change to a better location, then whatever you can put that can help block or break the shape of the corner will definately help. As such your suggestion on the artificialplant will certainly help. It will also act as a decorative makes your office look nicer. Hope that helps. 1. It is best to look at this issue based on the concept of the Holy Trinity of Chinese Luck system:- 1.1 Heaven Luck - what one is born with (and the dreaded "prediction" of Luck for or against a person. 1.2 Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home and office. 1.3 Human or Man Luck - factors. 2.1 Amongst all the above Three "forms of Holy Trinity of Luck". The Heaven Luck segment has the most number of escape clauses. From things like education, one's surroundings - shaped by family, friends; and some even say things like pilanthropy - doing good etc.. or karma sort of thing. 2.2 Under Heaven Luck also one must never fall under : auto-suggestion and self-fullfilling proph…

Dear Anon, Since Grand Duke resides at the West, this year, best not to as you had mentioned not to antagonise the Grand Duke, here. Majority of normal homes don't often use "red dragons" to guard the home. Using dragons to guard the home is thus not common place. Best to avoid placing one at the West entrance. In terms of which elements to use at a specific sector, it is best to use the Flying star numbers to deduce whether a sector can or cannot use red rather than assume that because West = metal = white = tiger, then red = fire to be used here to control metal. Frankly, not too good a method to use. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joselyn, 1. Can understand your concern. It is very common even locally in Singapore for families to move their stove to the back of the home. But do take note of the following situations: 1.1 If possible for married couples, avoid having two stoves i.e. one in the back yard area and other stove in the "dry kitchen". 1.2 If there are two stoves installed, try to make sure that all (burners) hobs or burners add together totals = even number. Thus if the backyard stove has say 3 (burners) hobs, then the dry kitchen should preferably have 3 hobs and the combined total no. of (burners) hobs = 6. 1.3 Those induction stoves are not counted or should not be counted. Thu…

Hi Anon, Unfortunately, it is going to be difficult for end users to be able to tell what is really right or wrong. This is not the only theory that I have seen which is different ways to apply, even other concepts like flying star, eight house, ba zi also have lots of variation. The best advise I can give you is, for the internet, it is easy for anyone to write an article on Feng Shui, more importantly, you should always check up on who wrote the article and how much experience they have on the matter. I mean no point taking advise from an article written by someone who just got interest in the subject and thus written the article as they will probably not be able to f…
