1. One can apply the concept: G.I.G.O. (Garbage in; garbage out). 2. If one is applying the Chinese Horoscope; most of the time; they are just using your Year of Birth. 3. For example, most of the books will say:- if your birthdate is between: 7 Feb 1978 to 27 Jan 1979, you are born in the YEAR of the Horse. Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/ayear/a60-80.htm 4. Often, a reputable site will provide a good analysis of your ba zi. Based on MORE information: YEAR / MONTH / DAY / TIME of birth to derive your ba zi. 5. Thus, the more inputs given: YY/MM/DD/HRS; often, the better is the analysis:- Most Chinese Horoscope ================== Usually looks at Yea…

These are some considerations: 1. You should check what type of bagua mirror you are using. 2. If you do a search under this forum; there are already lots of resouces on the type of mirrors: 2.1 In GENERAL, the mirror that you should be using; in modern times is a conVEX mirror. 2.2 In the past, perhaps, it was harder to mould a conVEX mirror; often especially in the 1950s to 1960s -1970's the most common mirrors are the FLAT type. 3. The best mirror, to use today to deflect poison arrow or sha qi is the conVEX mirror. While in the past the FLAT type is the only version available thus in the past, there was no choice but use this version : which often has a bagua trigram …

Edited by Robert: Such questions maynot get a reply because every personis different and every development also have good and bad units depending on which block and layout. So unless a some analysis is done to check it, it is not right to make generalised statement about a development. So it is better that you make use of some of our tools. Like the eight house to check that the house facing does not fall under the death / disaster. Also, check that other buildings around do not cut into the building or your view do not face temples/church etc. Or if you are unsure you should seek professional consultation services to help you do a floorplan review before you purchase …

Dear Anon, Thank you for the link to the sitemap. However, there is no compass marking on the map thus cannot see the perspective from the Compass School. From (only) a Shapes and Forms perspective, without considering where is the afternoon or morning sun, the smaller units #07, #11 and especially #12 and #17 or #14 and #15 looks more promising as #08 seems to have majority of windows facing the opposite #05. Yes, although construction began in 2001-02, but because since no one has yet stayed in the home, it should be considered as a Period 8 home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Glyn, Usually, the most important consideration is when one is moving in i.e. the date one moves into the house is the most important date to `note'. For changing of the hot plates, some over zealous people, may look at the dates but, in my opinion, it is not that important. All these falls under `Chinese beliefs and customs' rather then FS. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, To be honest, these are more of Chinese customs or beliefs than Feng Shui. And these customs should be consideredas "Nice-to-do" and not "Must-do". Thus, it would be good to follow the procedures (No harm). But if one cannot follow the procedure for one reason or the other, should not be an issue. Traditionally, it is still more important if good dates can be selected. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am currently facing this problem regarding Auspicious Wedding Dates. I went to a FS master to choose date for my wedding in 2007 during late last year when the Tong Shu is not out yet. He gave a booklet of computerised Auspicious Wedding Dates till 2008 for me to choose. He said the date is match according to me n my hubby BaZhi. And ask me not to refer to calender. Recently my mum found out that the date we choosen 20 Oct 2007 is good date but NOT A GOOD date for Wedding (JI Hoon Jia or avoid wedding) from the tong shu. Now we are stuck. We have ask the FS master whether is that day good or not he say is good. And i ask him whether it is better to get marriend on a day…

Dear Constance, constance king wrote: hello, i would just want to know if someone with fire element, is it alright to have an aquarium ? thanks so much for all your helpful informations. If you are a weak fire, then water won't be good for you. So not advisable to have an aquarium if possible. If you are a strong fire, then water will help to destroy your excess fire element. Then, it is perfectly fine to have an aquarium. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I heard from my friend that since i have a Chye, 'cai ', in my name, i should display the word 'cai ' at home. I was told that the 'cai' is to be placed upside down, paste on the wall. Then put a vaseor container with some coins inside and place iton the floor under the 'cai '. This will help to generate wealth for me? Is it true? Please advise me on my wealth location. Thanks. Frankly, this isn't correct. Whatever meaning your name has, can't be activated by placing something in your home. The meaning in your name is only so call 'activated' when people call your name. It is not activated by any other means. That is why when most people choo…

Dear Chetan, I believe, if you are referring to the use of the Chinese Astrology, for example, ( reference : www.lovesigns.net ), like the Zodica signs e.g. Gemini, Cancer etc... are considered explanations as to the different characteristics of each individual. Under astrology, it can tell you the characteristic differences but this where it ends. If we are referring to the Eight House Theory, where one is a West or East facing house person, one can still make relations work. What is more important if one is using say astrology or believe in it, try to `learn' or understand the differences of the two `animal' signs better. For those who do not really want to rely on the …

Dear Mina, 1. All major Chinese concepts uses the Chinese Lunar Calendar system. This is where, when we look at even Chinese astrology, it is based on Chinese Lunar new year. And the Chinese Lunar calendar use is wide-spread. Thus, when we need to determine a birth-date. This year, Chinese New Year starts on 12th February 2002. Thus, when we need to check the birth-date, any child born between 1st January 2002 to 11th January 2002 is considered born under the Year 2001 for purposes of Gua calculation. This site and many other book authors; therefore use the Lunar Calendar system. As far as I know; solar (Xia or Hsia) is used only in Pillars of Destiny as mentioned in deta…

Dear Yew-Meng, 1. Further to what I had mentioned earlier, one reader had recently wrote something like this:- " I cannot see the resemblance of roads as equal to water courses ". 2. It is good to bear in mind what the above user had wrote. 3. It is not often or that every other house has large water positions around their homes. And for this reason, and the fact that as the above user had correctly questioned whether can we treat all roads as equvalent to water courses? Like any other Shapes and Form, each home or building has to be looked at individually. And something as `fantastic' as Water Dragon Feng Shui may seem out-of-place if there are really no real water at…

1. Frankly, on the surface, one should not really resort to moving home unless, both the shapes and forms of the home is "terrible" and the Flying star qi does not help at all. 2. Most of the time, even if a home is unsuitable for family members, most of the time, "health" if analysed and disarmed properly can be negated. 3. Thus often it is not as serious unless there are more to it. 4. For example, if the house isa one level house, avoid sewerage pipe(s) running below a bed or living room sofa (etc..). 5. I am confident (in general) proper application of the correct Feng Shui can help your situation.

Dear Anon, Frankly, this may not be a good idea. Real water in the room, in my opinion, may harbour germs. Plus you had also mentioned dampness in the bedroom. Especially since, this water is not cleaned at all. In my opinion, I do not see a problem with a TV set in the bedroom: 1. Many of us read too many Feng Shui books `warning' us about having a tv set in the bedroom. The chief reason is: that the screen `acts' like a mirror. 2. But I have often mentioned that, this is not an issue for many people. 3. There are many people who have shifted home, or placed a tv set in their bedroom. And, do we ever hear of "Mr A moved to a new home. Placed a tv set in this bedroom. He …

DearChong Hoi, Chan Chong Hoi wrote: My masterbedroom is in the NW 'death direction' and my best sleeping direction is east 'prosperity direction'. Should I sleep with head facing east not withstanding the bedhead is in NW position. There is nothing much you can do about the room being your death sector unless you there is an alternative bedroom for you to sleep in that is more suitable. At least, you are sleeping in East facing position which will help to offset the death sector issue. The other thing you can do is to ensure you boost your own ba zi luck by choosing the colour scheme favourable to your ba zi element. Of course you also need to be careful that certain…

Dear Tigger's Mom, Please see below:- However, if the plot of land is almost flat or level and if there is a view towards NE, than one can also arrange the home to become a NE facing home. Or alternatively, if the home so happens to have a double 8 at a specific sector, one can make this the busiest part of the home. What you can do is to do "zero base" Feng Shui, or work out the best placement of e.g. living room, main door, bedroom areas etc... i.e. several alternatives to see if one can further fine tune the layout to optimize on as many Feng Shui factors such as Eight House best directions (Ba Zhai) and also work on the Flying Star numbers: the purpose is to o…

1. It is best to look at this issue based on the concept of the Holy Trinity of Chinese Luck system:- 1.1 Heaven Luck - what one is born with (and the dreaded "prediction" of Luck for or against a person. 1.2 Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home and office. 1.3 Human or Man Luck - factors. 2.1 Amongst all the above Three "forms of Holy Trinity of Luck". The Heaven Luck segment has the most number of escape clauses. From things like education, one's surroundings - shaped by family, friends; and some even say things like pilanthropy - doing good etc.. or karma sort of thing. 2.2 Under Heaven Luck also one must never fall under : auto-suggestion and self-fullfilling proph…

Dear Anon, The Flying Star theory can usually tell that #2 is the sickness star. More investigative work need to be `carried' out and other Geomancy theories would be required e.g. Pillars can analyse a person's element components and even `predict' which part of the body, one would most likely have health problems with. Other causes would also be where a person stays in a house with underground water directly below or near to e.g the bed. If one does not live in a landed property, this would not likely be the `cause'. There are other disciplines that can be used to cross reference the above but currently, they are not directly related to Feng Shui so not followed up. Wa…

Dear Anon, Frankly, this is not a traditional cure. I can understand the rationale for using salt to be placed at corners. This practice is done by some "English" priests or astrologers. But lets view it realistically. It is real hard to apply this `cure'. It looks ugly and furthermore, there should be a chemical reaction between copper and salt. It is not advisable to use this combination. If, I am not mistaken, small amounts of electricity could be produced for a short while. (Correct me if I am wrong). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, You have to determine what is the purpose of the audit. If it is an audit of your apartment, then you should take a compass bearing of your main entrance door. If you are doing an audit of the entire building, then take a reading of the building entrance. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In feng shui, as long as you cannot see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. In your case, given that you cannot do much about the arrangement or change to a better location, then whatever you can put that can help block or break the shape of the corner will definately help. As such your suggestion on the artificialplant will certainly help. It will also act as a decorative makes your office look nicer. Hope that helps.
