  1. Started by Paixao,

Dear Paixao, Usually, this is what many Chinese do when they move into a new home:- 1. Select an auspicious date. If one is not sure of a date, the two dates that are considered always auspicious are the 1st Day of the Lunar Month and the 15th Day of the Lunar Month. This is where both dates are on a full moon. The most recent Vesak Day holiday or (Buddha's Birthday fall on the 15th day of Lunar Month). 2. Does one have an altar or worship any deity. If yes, bring the `deity' on the same day as the day, one is moving into the house. 3. On the day of move: 3.1. First bring in the charcoal stove (usually the stove is made of clay and either in red or wrapped in red.) Red…

Dear Mark, Under the Flying Star numbers 2 & 3 are not very good. 2 is normally misfortune and sickness. House number is not really widely practice because it is not really an accurate fortune telling tool. The reason some Feng Shui masters take that into account, is more for flats or high rise buildings. They believe that not every level will have the same feng shui even though the building has the same type of design layout for each level. Only under this circumstances will some Feng Shui master apply this theory giving it additional depth in the analysis. (So far from what I tried, it is need true more for high rise then low rise, for low rise it is not very useful…

These are some of the considerations: 1. Under symbolism in traditional belief; move-in technically is the day one sleeps over-night in that home or apartment. 2. Again under symbolism; placing a set of one's night clothing e.g. husband and wife senario; a set of night clothes each are placed on the bed (over-night). This symbolises a "move-in". 3. Please note that auspicious dates are considered NICE-to and not a MUST-have. 4. So long as the day is not very inauspicious or inauspicious; any other significance e.g. average day or mixed-blessings may be acceptable. 5. Bringing in items or things into a home often does not constitute a move-in. For example, it is very commo…

These are some of the considerations:- 1. If the breadwinner and spouse had already slept in the new or resale home especially : 1.1. Used the built in stove to cook a meal: 1.2. Bathed in the home 1.3. Slept in the new or resale home 2. Especially if all these three ACTIVITIES were done say in the same day; then no need to talk: this is already considered as "moved-in". 3. If one brings in a used washing machine; but did not use it; this is in the loose sense - for practical reasons; fine or OK. 4. It is the same thing as an "old" or "existing" dining table brought into the new home. So long as one does not use it for proper dining; then it is technically fine…

Dear Rakesh, 1. This has usually more to do with symbolism or beliefs. 2. The belief is that if one has a ship painting, it should not be of a stormy weather where it may imply that the ship may be caught in a tidal wave or storm and sink. 3. In the above situation, it is not ideal symbolism to have a painting where the ship may sink and relate this to a company where.. the company may go under. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Yes, it is very common to bring in items into the home before move-in. 2. If it is not the 7th month, it is not the 7th month. As mentioned in a recent forum message, the elderly just don't like the 6th month. Not because it is the "7th" month (how can this be) BUT rather, the elderly don't like it because it symbolises 50-50. Neither here nor there as the 6th month is half-half (between the 1st and the 12th lunar month). This is the rationale behind why some elderly reasoned as no good - 6th month, that's all.

Dear Aloysius Chia, Aloysius Chia wrote: Reason being if a person do not have a good chinese name (after analysis) but with good ba zi and staying in a good feng shui house, will his bad chinese name affect him. I have confusion over the above 3 combination as you may not have a good ba zi but a good feng shui house will assist you in many ways but will a good chinese name help too. A good name does help you in some way to boost up what you lack in your ba zi. However, it is not 100% necessary to bring you a great deal of luck change compared to the Feng Shui. A person's luck is affected by Heaven, Earth and Human luck. So my ranking would be:- 1) Earth Luck / Feng …

  12. These are some considerations: 1. Yes, in a broad sense, one MAY not go wrong when choosing a Mandarin name UNLESS:- 1.1. One also wants to literally convert or have an identical name in Mandarin. 1.2. Here, some English name(s) when pronounced or translated or phonetic-sound-like some inauspicious Chinese name. 1.3. For example, sometimes names with "flowers" may turned out to be a name associated with a Prostitute den in Mandarin. 2. Otherwise, if you never going to convert or translated your name into Mandarin, then there is no chance that you may get this wrong. 3. Please see attachment. Hi, I'm new here. My life has been very inauspicious ever since I moved into the back house of my parents after remodeling it in 2017. I lost both of my businesses, had a heath scare, mental breakdown, pet dog died by a dog bite that came to my home that I housed for the day and lost my life savings from trying to day trade. I feel depress and hopeless. I don't know what to do? I hung a bagua mirror when I moved into the home on the outside of my back screen door for protection but I wonder if it has brought more harm than good? I'm planning on taking it down and disposing it after the hungry ghost festival on Sept 2nd. Any advice to help turn my luck around and help pr…

Dear Anon, One `rule' under Feng Shui is that if you cannot see the poision, it is no longer a threat. For those who are new to this forum, here are some examples of how this concept is applied: 1. One reason why many FS practioners ask you to place a screen between the main door and (say if there is a straight backdoor) or a staircase is that if you cannot see the offending sha, it no longer becomes a threat. 2. If a poision arrow is aimed at your window, this is why one method is to use a thicker set of curtain to `block' off the poision arrow. I have seen the latest car net (sun screens) as those you mentioned. The driver who drives behind the car cannot really see ins…

  15. These are some considerations: 1. Many Feng Shui concepts originated from (simply) pure common sense. 2. Frankly, it is best to put on one's thinking cap... as to Why? some say it is inauspicious? 3. The chief concern is not so much of what you wrote. 3.1. Do you know that if one were to speculate left, right, centre and until the cows come home; one will not get a correct answer (if any). 4. Let me share with you the following:- 4.1. The main concern of a bedroom door facing a step of stairs if the bedroom door is very close to these steps. Thus even if the bedroom door open inwards into the bedroom, but if the stairs are too close; one may fall down. That's …

In my opinion, from a Feng Shui point of view; the general consensus is that: 1. If the main entrance door is either neutral (pastel as in light colours) and another neutral colour is wood or wood tone or brown. 2. If your main door colours are of the above; then generally, it is no major issue. Also no issue are grilles that are : black + gold and silver or again light colours like cream orwhite or silver. 3. But if you door or grille have any of the primary colours: e.g. BRIGHT YELLOW, BRIGHT RED ORBLUE;then best to check out the Flying star chart numbers at that sector(main door). IN SUMMARY " From a Feng Shui perspective, a main entrance door in …

  20. Dear Kyra, 1. In my view, when we are uncertain whether a piece of advice will be effective, it is wise to refrain from placing the object in that particular location. 2. This aligns with the commonsense principles of Feng Shui. 3. For instance, many of us have encountered the notion that having a bedroom situated above a kitchen is considered 'inauspicious.' The reasoning behind this is based on common sense. In the event of a fire in the kitchen, smoke and flames rise, which would be unfavorable, especially if a fire were to occur there. 4. Likewise, if we position a mirror, such as one made of glass or silicone, near a heat source, the glass may not…

thank youvery much for your reply. As to your question why i opt for turtle instead of fish, well, actually, previously i put gold fishes in it, more than 15. cats from our neighbors always come to our place. they can enter anytime since the front fence is an open steel fence. whithout us knowing it sometimes its been eaten. One time, we saw a bull frog. so the ending, all the fishes were gone. Also, water here in our place has a lot of chlorine. iguess its about time i buy a book on how to take care of fishes in the pond. Sad to say, i am a beginner on this. Anyway, speaking of fish,in case i put back fish on my pond, how many fish do i have to put and what kind of …

Dear Anon, It is best to look at Feng Shui in a holistic approach i.e. looking at "WEALTH" from various angles such as: 1. How good is the Shapes and Form of the home i.e. external environment, the site, the building and the home. 2. Using Compass School methods such as Flying Star and Eight House. 3. By simply focusing on a corner of the house and to assume that this corner "makes "or "breaks" our achievement of WEALTH is in my opinion, too naive a concept. In my opinion, it is more important to get more areas correct, or `score' more points or marks in all areas to make it a better home will provide more results. Furthermore, to say that a `wealth area' is at a specific…
