Dear Anon, Many years back, I had written on the issue of "long houses". For example, many years back, the long house e.g in Sarawak is pretty unique and quite similar to your case. However, their long house can even be longer than the 120 ft long as you had mentioned. Yes, unfortunately, between the pie and the grid, if it is a long house than the grid method is often preferred over the pie in your case. Dear Anon, For "fire-at-heaven's" gate, another remedy is the use of "earth" at the fire-gate-area. For example, earthenware or do add some pottery pieces at the location. Dear Olivia, I have sketched out the basic good designs on the wall behind the head-board. Generally, the worst kind of head board is in the shape of "tomb-stones" & "circle" shapes.
