Dear Jane, Most users are aware to avoid digging up the earth especially at the East. This is based on the " Tai Su " or Grand Duke Theory. Grand Duke actually refers to the `gravitational pull' of the largest planet circing the Sun i.e. Jupiter. Did you dig earth at the East side of the house. if so, one way to neutralise this is to use `metal'. For example, if it is possible place the car between the digging and the house. For water beds, frankly this is not mentioned in traditional Feng Shui. Personally, I do not see any problems. For the following reasons: 1. One Feng Shui concept is that if you do not see it is not a threat. 2. More importantly, it is more important…

Dear Seco, Though Eight House suitability and bed placement are important, but even more important is actually the shapes and form placement of the bed within the bedroom itself. Often, the shapes and form principles will have higher priority than, Eight House. So generally we try to follow this room:- 1. The bedroom sector within the house itself should if possible fall under any of the 4 better eight house sector. 2. Bed placement within the room should first suit the shapes and form, ie a solid wall behind where you can see the door and window. 3. Only if possible under the shapes and form arrangement, such as to place the bed North or East facing, only then can y…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hello there, I have tried your free report and it seems I have reviewed it and it contradicts to what happenned in the period of my life. Example is that I have "Luck againts me" during the best time of my life period in which I have been lucky in wealth, fame, and almost everything. I consulted your free report to find out what happened to my luck. These times I am wondering what happenned to my luck, but it seem in your report I am approaching my luck in 10 years. If that is so I want to know why is like that, and if so how can I enhance my luck these times (on this period and on the coming period) better. Thanks any advice and expalanation …

Dear Mary, Please visit this url with forecast for your animal sign:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2008.htm In general, (don't get too unduly worried) as under www.lovesigns.net the animal sign opposite each other are suppose to be the most incompatible of the two. For example, if you were to view the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, the Rat faces the horse directly! However, don't get too much auto-suggestion or self-fulfilling prophecy. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see sample attachment. Where there are five family members living in this apartment: Pers1 = male breadwinner Pers2 = his wife Pers3 = his son Dad and Mum Firstly, we need to find out whether each family member(s) are an East or a West group person. In the above sample example, all family members happen to belong to the East Group persons. The breadwinners are Pers1 (Male owner) and Pers2 (Female - wife). As the breadwinners, they sleep in the master bedroom between sectorEast and South-East. In addition, it is nice to point the bed-head facing East which is one of their good sectors. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. The attachment shows a samp…

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no major issue with the poster. However, if we do stare hard-enough at a peacock feather, many of us may see a large "eye" looking at us. Perhaps, this may make some of us feel uncomfortable especially since it is in a private bedroom. If you really feel uncomfortable whatsoever, then best to remove it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jane, Unfortunately, this is not directly related to Feng Shui although theories such as Flying Star can help to pinpoint the location related to such influences. It is best that you try to explain to your daughter and not to say too much to the neighbour. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carina, 1. There are various interpretation of `wealth corner'. 2. If one properly `practices' or if one is fortunate enough, with or without Feng Shui e.g. a good home with shapes and form and the house happens to suit the person, this far outweighs `soley' concentrating on just one corner. 3. Sometimes, doing so may do more `harm' than good. For example, if the corner is (suppose to be left alone), and if one places a plant that this sector where, there is an imbalance of a particular element. The plant may `unwittingly' be the productive help for the `rogue element' and further increase it's strength. There is indeed a possibilty here because we are talking abou…

Dear t p, t p wrote: i picked up an item at an antique shop. the item had a label reading "feng shui compass", but the item contains nothing that resembles [to me] a feng shui compass. the item has a compartment that opens to where something may be placed, which leads me to believe it just may be just a simple incense burner, but i'm totally confused about characters carved on the top and sides of the item. If it is a compass, it will at least have a compass in the center. As you mentioned it opens up to be empty. Thus, no likely. The incense you mentioned could be a possiblity or simply a storage ornament. As for the words. It is not clearly written. But it is actuall…

Dear Joanna, 1. I hope I understand your message correctly. Do you mean that the bed should be on the opposite wall from the bedroom door? If so, this is often the norm - for privacy and also, one can often see who comes thru the door, first. 2. But, one must be careful of the "coffin position". This is where, the feet should not point directly towards the bedroom door. Here, this is symbolic of carrying a dead body out of the home. If there is really no choice, either: 1. do have a bed head - or a small bed head cabinet where one can place one's alarm clock and some personal items e.g. watch etc.. 2. the other alternative is leave a few inches gap between the wall an…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Master Lee, how do I determine the west direction in my bedroom? If you want to determine if the bedroom falls in the west:- 1. Get your layout, and determine the center point of the home. Or stand at the center point of your home. 2. Determine the North 0 degree from a compass. Then divide the house to the North / South / East / West. 3. If the room falls in the West, then it is a west sector of the house. If you want to determine the west direction in your room. Do the same thing:- 1. Stand in the center of your room. 2. Determine the North 0 degree from a compass. Then divide the room to the North / South / East / West. 3. The west s…

Has anyone read FS for Idiots? I would like your opinion please. I like the charts they have and the classical style. I have thrown out all the Lin and Too books I bought. There are too many contradictions there. So far I like this Forum's books (I bought them and use them)and the above. I'm open to any suggestions of other "classic FS" texts. Thank you.

In my opinion, it is better to activate a water position at the frontage of the apartment; Since there is already a large body of moving water in your apartment; actually, whether water flowing left to right or right to left have a bearing to the apartment. Plus whether it is flowing parallel to the home (apartment block) or "slicing" it also matters. If the water flow is correct, (this needs some investigation) then an additional water feature at your water #1 star location may not be necessary. Thus it depends. activating a water feature at the central palace depends also. As sometimes a water position at the central palace is akin to the iching concept of water = d…

Dear Lynn, Anonymous wrote: I am reorganizing the front entry to my house and need to move all the books. I want to move the medical reference books to a place that will not create any bad energy. Where is the best place to keep these in the house? Generally, books are simply knowledge. As long as you keep them neatly in the shelves. It won't really create bad energy even though medical is often related to yin. So just place them in the your study. If you are really so bothered by it, try to get covered bookshelf so that the books titles are out of sight (hidden inside the shelf). In feng shui, what you can no longer see will no longer becomea threat. Hope that helps. …

Dear Anon, Currently, there is no `evidence' to say that opening or closing a door which happens to be at the east direction will distrub the grand duke. It is in my personal opinion that, the Grand Duke does not `stay' or `sit' at a door only be be `banged' upon. Collectively one must understand that (most importantly) the Grand Duke refers to Chinese Astrology where the Grand Duke is based on the planet `Jupiter'. As Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, it is suppose to extert a substantial influence on our planet. Overall, it is perfectly ok to have the door at the location. Only remember to try not to do any renovations at the location e.g. the wall sur…

Dear Ellen, 1. Personally, many years back when I first started on Feng Shui, I was equally concerned about how well the carpet and the flooring `matches' the breadwinner's Ba Zhi or element and its strength. 2. Here, I would try to relate the flooring + breadwinner's Ba Zhi in relation to the Five elements concept. 3. If you were to asked me today, how I feel about it, I would say that, my thinking has been `altered'. 4. Not so much because, I have changed my mind but rather, instead of looking at flooring under the Five Elements concept, look at it more on the Yin and Yang perspective. 5. Unde the Five elements concept, I would `crack' my brains trying to see if there …

Dear Robert, Per your suggestion, please find attached the layout of the house (both first floor and second floor)and a "bird's eye" view of the location of the house. 1) Please help me find the center of the house and define the sectors? 2) The West side of the house has a creek running nearby , separated by a road and beyond the creek are mountains. Please give comments / advise on the location of the house in relationship with the creek and mountains. The head of the house (male)has a fire element and I (female) have the water element. 3) As I mentioned to you, I have problems understanding how to define the facing of the house, using the compass. I would appreciate if…

Dear Lingling, Please see below:- There is not much you can do to avoid a sharp corner. It is best if one avoids having a sharp corner in the first place (if one can). If it is a wooden beam, one can use 6 metal coins tied with red string and place it above the beam. Here, 6 coins representing big metal can be used to destroy wood. If it is a concrete beam, hang two bamboo flutes as follows:- ------ / \ / \ There is also another Find out what is the intangible influence for each person. If the intangible influence is inauspcious for a person, let the person sleep further away from the intangible influence. For example, if the father has the Prosperity…

Dear May-Ying, 1. If one is using the Kua method or the East/West Group. 2. It is preferred to look at the suitablility of the house with regards to:- 3. The breadwinner. Majority of the time, it is the husband. (Nowadays, it can be the wife. Especially if the husband is a homemaker or if he earns significantly much lower salary). For example, it is good to select a house with the main entrance that suits the breadwinner. 4. Next, try to see if each of the bedroom can `fit' each family member. This so especially for the children. For the husband and wife, it is preferred that combinations e.g. prosperity (husband) / wife (irritation) Or any other combinations with good se…

Dear Anon, This would not be a real issue: 1. It is not like the windows slide and causing a `knife' like effect. Even if assuming it does, it cuts harmlessly towards the wall. One should therefore not consider the slidding effect as similar to a poison arrow. It is not. Warmest Regards, Cecil
