Dear Anon, Frankly, traditional Schools of Feng Shui specifically use two major schools: 1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2. Compass School: The Eight House (Ba Cai) or The Flying Star Feng Shui Thus fixed template "Feng Shui" or adapting the Eight Aspirations or Life Aspriations concept of the Eight Trigrams is common today. Although it looks very easy to apply, it is considered too general by Traditional Schools of Geomancy or Feng Shui. In addition to the above, the Ba Zi or Pillars of Destiny of individuals are also used by Authentic Traditional Schools. It all boils down to another major concept: known as "The lowest common denominator or LCM" or everything revolv…

What does this mean, and how can I introduce metal between us? What kind of metal? I think we really need it lol. Thank you so much for your help on this, and throughout this amazing website!! 1. I believe that what you are inquiring about is quite "academic". 2. To be honest, there will be an endless debate regarding the merits of one method over another. 3. In my view, having numerous clients; some of whom have sought earlier consultations with different practitioners and second opinions; I have come across various charts. 4. From my understanding, among the practitioners in Singapore; many utilize the Pie chart method, myself included. 5. Why? 5.1. The Pie chart is particularly well-suited for landed properties, as many of these structures tend to be elongated and rectangular in shape. 5.2. At a glance, the practitioner can iden…

Dear Anon, Usually, if there is a gap between the two buildings, there would be as you had mentioned there can be Sha Qi. However, as your description is not too clear, I can't really provide advise:- 1. When u mentioned your relative's house, is it a landed property? Or an apartment with window or gap in the master bedroom or main door entrance or otherwise? 2. When you mentioned a gap of 50cm of two near by buidings, currently cannot visualise what are their position in relation to your relative's home. Perhaps, you can provide a sketch to this. 3. However, if one stands at the gap and find gushes of air `forced' thru this into your relatives' home, then this can be sha…

  15. This link shows three recent useful links:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Can_or_Cannot_Buy Be it a HDB, a BTO/DBSS or a condo you should be able to understand more from the above resources. This link (from one of the 3 links, above) shows the final result when all the major key principles are applied:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=29335&new= Further consideration: 1. There are no such thing as a perfect home (unless one tries to built on one's own). 2. "Strike while the iron's hot." For condos, best to try to buy newly launched ones.. Left over units are often.. or rarely that good - rarely finda polished gem from them. 3. …

Dear Lily, The calculation of the Hourly branch i.e. the first part is taken from zi (rat) but the Heavenly stem requires one to look at the Day pillar together with zi (rat) to find out the Heavenly stem of the hour. Therefore if one looks at it zi (rat) whether it is zi-early rat or zi-late rat does not matter. What is more important is to get the Day correct. Essentially, if one understand how Pillar works, the hour pillar is not that necessary as not all analysis refer to the hour pillar. However, with the hour of birth one can get more accuracy i.e. more elements to analyse especially for house of life. House of conception does not need the Hour pillars. Robert who i…

Dear Rasika, 1. In my opinion, there is no easy or direct `key success' factor in selling your house by simply tying red ribbons etc... 2. Feng Shui is used often in a holistic way and there are many other factors involved e.g. such as the selling price, location, location and location. 3. (I emphaise location 3 times because, in my opinion, this is a key area). 4. If the property has good Feng Shui, one can draw attention to the buyer (provided the buyer can be convinced that it has good Feng Shui). 5. Thus, rather than find hope in Feng Shui perhaps, someone suggesting tying a huge red ribbon around the house, do we want to do it? Instead it may just `put-off' the buyer…

Dear Anon, There are two levels of suitability which you can check:- 1. Eight House - Which shows you which of the 4 directions is good or bad. 2. Ba Zi Element - ie weak Wood is favourable for Water (North etc). For house direction, in either case, if you already choose a house which isn't suitable for you, there is no way you can force the house to suit you unless you move to a house that have the direction favourable for you. But ideally, if a house isn't favourable to you and as long as it isn't your death or disaster, then it isn't too bad yet. However, if the house is considered death or disaster, then in the long run you will benefit from moving to a more suit…

  19. Dear Rick Chong, Rick Chong wrote: I check the 4 pillars and noted that i am a weak earth person. i have 2 earth, 3 metal & 1 hidden, 2 water, 1 wood and no fire. Born in sept month of autumn. Frankly, there is more than just the number of each element. The element strength of each element is also important ie. 2 Strongest Earth will be very much different from 2 Extremely weak Earth. So to know the exact percentage of each element, you need to assess the 4 pillars in detail before one can tell you exactly which element you need more or less. In addition, you need to consider all the combinations and clash that can alter your elements in your chart. However, …

Dear Joann, 1. You may not aware that part of the netiquette is not to use all CAPITAL letters. This is like `Shouting'. 2. To use the SEARCH feature; do not type in a whole string of words such as " WHICH WAY SHOULD MY FRONT DOOR FACE ". For basic or advanced Search, do not type in a whole sentence. But rather type specific key words. 3. To find out the direction your front door should face, please look thru some of the following references first:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm and how to use the Eight House theory:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm or use the Free online tools at:- http://www.geomancy-online.com 4. Hi, This " School " of Feng Shui believes that 5 hanging lights represents each of the Five Elements and can be placed a a location to represent each of the Five elements. It can be all of the same colour. Some went to extent of using five different coloured bulbs. Symbolically, in the day time one need not light up the bulbs. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yogesh, 1. If you are referring to the " Bagua chart " used by Black Hat " Feng Shui "; this type of `practise' is never used in Traditional Feng Shui. 2. Traditional Feng Shui uses the Shapes and Form and Compass School methods. There are already many useful resources on this in the website. Warmest Regards, Cecil
