Dear Kian Watt, For the Feng Shui ruler, the upper markings are for Yang Feng Shui or Feng Shui for the living. The lower markings or the second level or on some rulers the bottom readings are for the dead (Yin Feng Shui). Frankly, there is often no issue with the need for an exact dimension for a painting. More importantly, if it looks nice and appeals to our "man-luck-factor" or "feel good factor, this will be good enough! Dear Marianne, The fixed Ba Gua template was invented in the mind of one person. Please read the article on him:- http://www.qi-whiz.com/confess.html In traditional Feng Shui, it is advisable not to use fixed templates. There are two Compass School methods: Eight House and Flying Star. An illustration on the use of the Eight House theory is available under: htt://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Overall, I see that you are trying to apply the `fixed template' which is not practised in the East e.g. China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Far East countries like Malaysia and Singapore. In my opinion, the `method' you had mentioned should not be used. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Linda, 1. When using a compass, one has to be exact and plot the exact compass direction into one of the 15 degrees of the Flying Star chart. 2. Often, we may have to take readings out-side of the home to avoid any metallic disturbance e.g. high tensile steel embedded in the concrete structure of the home. 3. Sorry, I don't quite understand your question. "the Compass shows as SE but only over 10 degrees to SE do you consider it as SE or South " 4. As mentioned under Para 1 and 2, above, for SE facing homes: SE1 = 112.5 degrees to 127.4 degrees (120 degrees) SE2 = 127.5 degrees to 142.4 degrees (135 degrees) SE3 = 142.5 degrees to 157.4 degrees (150 degrees…

Dear Diane, 1.In my opinion, kei loons and especially a pair of lions are usually decorative items. 2. In many parts of China, one can see a huge pair of lions outside the entrances of large buildings. 3. In my opinion, there is nothing really magical in them other than they give an imposing `confidence' to the building(s). 4. In Singapore, a pair of lions (large ones) are very popular also. For example, one can see a pair of lion statues outside the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Singapore. At the main entrance of Ngee Ann City (mega) city. Many temples also have the lion statues "standing guard". 5. In my opinion, kei loons are more commonly placed in homes or above the p…

Dear Bonnie, I truly understand your problem. It is never easy to apply Feng Shui to a small apartment. Usually, for small apartments, we cannot really do much and have to rely on the Feng Shui influences of the entire building. Enhancing Qi (by whatever means) in a small apartment can thus be frustrating or furtile. In most instances, or for such cases, our individual LUCK (since Feng Shui is about some form of LUCK) would help us. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The problem has been solved. I have moved out of the room. Thanks for the help, guys. As for the expert, you were absolutely right, sir! Pointing a concave mirror at his bed brought much conflict.

They say If it's possible to group the kitchen and living room together, and the bedrooms and bathrooms together, then let this be demarcation. Its not possible with this floor plan. If you could please help or guide as how to treat this floor plan to apply the FS. Thanks.

1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, yes, one has to be careful of angular objects particularly the "tip" especially if it faces or aimed towards a bedroom or an "opening" such as a bedroom door or the main door. 2. Otherwise, in general, it may still be acceptable to place it at common areas - should normally be ok.

Hello Master, can I ask you to explain me how to use the month star? Please be so patient. I have learnt the year star should be compared to the base star through the element analysys. In the picture: fire (9) is controlled by water (1). Star 1 is going to win: Auspicious combination What if I want to use the month star instead of the year one? Does it work the same way? Do you raccomend checking the month star every month and change the analysis and cures accordingly? Thank you master

Dear Maria and all users, I would sincerely like to point out the `dangers' of Fast Food Feng Shui. I am glad that you asked the question. If one does not know the answer, it is best to check first before `implementing' self-help Feng Shui cures. As I recall, there was this Doctor, who bought books on Feng Shui. He went out to buy a foutain, started to (I believe) read chapter by chapter. At each chapter or what he thought were his element e.g. based on the year of his birth, he found that e.g. he was a Fire element person. He started to paint the main gate with a colour that he though would `enhance' him. Later on, when he used the traditional Pillars of Destiny which an…

1. If you are referring to a fixed template that is suppose to be super-imposed onto a layout plan; where e.g. North = career, SW = romance etc... then this is a modern invention. 2. This modern invention originated in Taiwan around the 1980's. 3. Traditional Feng Shui does not use such a model. 4. Best to expand your studies or research elsewhere.

A search in this forum will also have articles on how to find the centrepoint of a home, how to superimpose a compass chart on it etc..... Try to use your fingers to do the walking..... SEARCH

Please note that for Geomancy.net and all it's various calculators; for user convenience; all your inputs of any dates of birth should be western date of births. Our system will automatically convert all dates of births into the Lunar dates. This is because many people, even many younger Chinese do not know their exact lunar birth-dates.

Dear Elena, 1. Your observations are to the `point':) 2. If it is a Chinese restaurant, two lion white statues as those commonly seen on both sides of the main entrance door would be good. 3. More importantly, you have pointed out that the frontage (clear space has been hindered by the 25 storey building. 4. You are correct to say, that one method would be to use neon lighting here. This would certainly create a more `yang' environment. 5. Currently, Shapes and Form can in my opinion, provide a quantum leap first. 6. For the `breadwinner/owner', if you have a problem determing who, it should be the eldest `partner'. Sleeping Partners should be excluded here. Warmest Rega…

Dear Anon, 1. Thanks for your reply. 2. In my opinion, based on what you have mentioned, this should not be an issue. The cactus plant and the purpose why it was placed there does not seem to pose a threat to your home. 3. A threat is usually one where it slices thru the main door e.g. at the middle or if one stands at the door, one can see e.g. a lone lamp post. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. The `concern' here is not a poision arrow i.e. sharp corners aimed at your living room window, but rather the garbage dumpster. 2. It depends on the lighting filtering from the living room. One can either use `opaque' film or use curtains or if the smell is foul, close some of the windows. 3. A Ba gua mirror is meant for a. Some FS practitioners with religious inclinations may advise using it to protect against evil. b. While some FS practitiioners, advise the use of it to deflect Sha Qi or poison arrow. If you an see, your living room window or exterior does not `qualify' for either 3a. or 3b. Therefore, my advise is under Para 2. (unless, there is indeed a…

Again, appreciate; please note the following:- 1. There are already tons of past resources on the subject of mirrors. 2. Make an effort to use your fingers to the "walking" by using the SEARCH feature on this forum. Simple search terms like "Mirror in bedroom " etc.. would yield the answer to your mirrored wardrope issue. Look at it this way, your friend is not the only one that faces or is concerned with this issue. This issue has been around even before this forum existed. Extract from a past message:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15138&new= 3. You have to be realistic; and go search for the French term: Triage.. Some of the…

Dear Thoa Le, Yes, if the home flies to Period 8 N1, then the water tank can still remain at SE particularly to help drown the MS#2 and WS#5 at this sector and also reduce the effects of the palace (base star) #7 - loss / robbery/theft star. However, please take note that other than having double 8's at the frontage; and good sectors at North-East and East sectors; other sectors do not have very goodflying star numbers under Period 8 N1, you should do a bit more homework to see if some of the bad #'s do not come into other sectors of the home or need to neutralise, them. Thus, flying to Period 8 N1 - needs closer study since it can be a "double-edged" sword.. Warmes…

These are some considerations: 1. As you had mentioned, the oak tree is not in your property. 2. However, it becomes a threat only when e.g. standing inside the home (at an opening) e.g. such as an open window and /or main door and if one can see the trunk of the oak tree slicing towards such openings then this is considered as a poison arrow or sha qi. Thus this is considered as a threat. 3. The concept that if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat applies. Thus simple things like installing a blind or a day curtain may help to "blur" out the offending "object". 4. One of the "secret" weapons in Feng Shui are birds chirping around. Thus, some trees help to at…

Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: Thank you for your reply. However, even in my human luck, my family is not that close, unfortunately. The closest person to me, my little brother, just passed away. My other brother is in the Navy and travels all the time - has been to Iraq numerous times and helped in the tsunami (the Abraham Lincoln). Anyways, I also am single . I do have some very close friends, whose parents are wonderful to me in a loving way. So, perhaps that counts. I hope so anyways. Yes, any good friends will also count. Just that in most cases family bonding if any would probably be stronger. But that does not mean that good friends will have weaker relationsh…

1. Yes, what you had mentioned is true! Even today - especially the Chinese are not immune to this! Many share the same fate with regards to filia piety issues! 2. It is a "pity" that I feel that for some of us, if we could reverse the time, may consider having a large family. Here, there is a "higher" probability that one not only "hope" for at least one or some children - to look after us or we could still stay on our own but may not worry as much with day to day finances as there is a higher chance with so many children! 3. In fact, I have seen more cases of daughters providing for or being closer to their parents then sons! As you had mentioned.. most likely cannot…
