Dear Judy, Please see below:- 1. Yes, you have brought up a very interesting question. 2. First of all, Chinese do place importance in phonetic sounds. For example, several years back when China opened up its economy, I believe, there was this Coca Cola advertisement where the interpretation of the words `Coca Cola' was interepreted to mean an inauspicious name. 3. Subsequently, Coca Cola, revised this ad. 4. Chinese language is quite `complex' and a pronunciation can provide as much as say 4 different meanings to a character alone. 5. For the Chinese, usually, there is no issue once an auspicious sounding name has been chosen. 6. In the past where there was no stand…

Please refer to my earlier reply to your separate posting. First and foremost, priority goes to the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Head facing a good direction is "nice-to-have" and not a "must-have". Lorraine A. wrote: I have recently moved house, can i place by bed on the wall in front of a boarded fireplace?

Dear Anon, 1. More important concerns are where a house faces 1.1. A temple or church 1.2. A cemetry Other brutal occurences in the home 2. Primarily, the above are the main concerns as a temple or church is said to be a `depository' of emotions etc... 3. A house next to or near a school, is acceptable. Thus one should not `worry' unduly over this. And not an issue. 4. The concept of clear space is an important consideration and has priority under the Shapes and Form. Thus is it good to have clear space be a park. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Kaushal, Generally, you are refering to the fact that your house has a base star forming the Luo Shu square where adding the numbers from each of the direction gives you 15. Yes, I have not doubt that your chart looks like a luo shu square. And it does have number combination influence. However, Flying Star is not so simple as to just looking at the numbers of the base star. It is even more important to understand the interactions of the Flying Star when encountered with two important stars that constantly fly around the base star every 20-year and yearly. The monthly and daily stars are often not so important as quite difficult and also not to mentioned tedious to w…

Dear Max, 1. Yes, in a general `reading' taking into consideration one's YEAR of birth i.e. for those born between 18 Feb 1958 to 7 Feb 1959, the YEAR element is an Earth Dog. 2. Pillars of Destiny based on YEAR, MONTH, DAY and TIME of birth. In the " Four Pillars" analysis, not only is the YEAR element i.e. EARTH-DOG is looked into but also the MONTH, DAY and TIME of birth. Under Pillars of Destiny, the main important element is the MONTH of birth and the other variables i.e. YEAR, DAY and TIME are looked at in total. Thus one can be a " EARTH - DOG " based on the YEAR of birth but, this is too general and has to be looked into in greater detail based on Pillars of Dest…

  9. Dear Ang Chye, Traditionally, when a child was born, the parents or grandparent would consult a Geomancer to find a name for the child. The first thing the Geomancer does is to look at the child's Ba Zhi (Pillars of Destiny). For example, my grandfather was told that my elder brother lacked `water' element in his Ba Zhi. His name has one character `water' i.e. " Chwee " added to his name. As for me, since I did not lack any elements, my name had a " Tiong " or " centre " (implying balance) in one of the characters. For example, a fictitious name could be: Tan Leng Chwee (where: Tan is the surname, Leng Chwee is the last name). The " Chwee " was added to such a name. This …

Dear Constantine, 1. Yes, from my personal experience with clients having problems with fish tank at the centre-point of the house. This has been mentioned in several of the past forum messages i.e. relating to health problems. 2. In my opinion, your family members are correct to advise you to remove the fish tank at the balcony. This is because, (if I believe) that it is kinda of tall and not `flat' e.g. pond. 3. When a fish tank is tall, it no longer `behaves' like e.g. clear space or provide clear space. Unlike a pond or a pool of water. In fact, it becomes or acts more like a mountain effect. Imagine, having a `mountain' right in-front of the balcony - where there sho…

Example, my whole house ispainted blue, my room in gray. Im surrounded by sea because I?m in the shipping line and my work place faces the sea. There just isn?t anything associated with ?fire? but I?ll make sure I spend some effort from now, in any case, i might jus go and look you up.

  14. Started by myfs_43805,

Dear Aj, The purpose of FS are two-fold:- 1. To neutralise Sha Qi and poison arrows. 2. To enhance beneificial Qi. From the above, it is good to understand what Sha Qi is and poison arrows. A. Poison Arrows. Examples are:- a. Another building with its corner pointed towards a house main entrance `posing as a threat' to the main door. b. Some FS practitioners believe that open bookshelves with books is a poison arrow. This is where the edges of books act like `knives'. c. Thus overall, one can imagine "poison arrow" as literally an arrow aimed at e.g. the main entrance door, through the window of the house or aimed at the person's body. d. In the bedroom, it can be the edg…

  15. Started by mehtakaushal,

Dear Kaushal, 1. Under Feng Shui, this is considered inauspicious as `beneifical' Qi is suppose to come into the house and meander slowly circulating inside the house and `exit' the home through other openings. 2. Where possible, it should not enter the house e.g. the main entrance and exit out through an opposite window. Here, Qi is not allowed to circulate in the home. 3. The best option is to place a screen close to the main door area to allow the Qi to meander into the house. The screen need not necessarily be of full height. It can be of a lower height where possible it can cover e.g. three-quarters of the door. 4. Another alternative is to close the window which is …

Dear Sualeha, You should instead check whether (truely or not) if really under period 8 (flying star) whether there is/are #8 or double 8 at this sector. If it is not, how did you come about that this is the prosperity? If this prosperity is based on eight house, then you can look at other schools to improve your situation. Hope that helps. Dear Sandra, Usually, the main entrance door is the door: 1. Where you have your unit number on. 2. It can also be the door you frequently use. In your case, since you use the door at the "East facing" frequently, this should be considered your main entrance door. What you can do is to check which door is more auspicious to you. The east facing or the North door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  18. Started by trilbee,

Dear Tril, If you have not reviewed how to find the main door direction, please check out:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm In the graphic presentation on the above site, you find that at the last part of the presentation, I actually superimposed a circular protractor i.e. 360 degress protractor on the layout plan. Here, you should then mark out i.e. 0 degrees (North), 45 degrees NE, 90 degrees East etc... and this is how you draw a `pie chart' with North, NE, East, SE, South, SW, West, NW. In fact there are two methods of dividing a room i.e. by diving it into 9 equal sectors as what mentioned below or using the `pie chart' method. If you are using a compass …

  19. Started by myfs_38225,

Dear Cheryl Usually, it is best to determine what type of wealth "corner" or sector this is. In general, if you have applied Flying Star Feng Shui; the numbers have different connotations:- 1. Mountain Star #8 = relationship, networking, luck = or auspicious mountain star. Activated with a "mountain". 2. Water Star #8 or #1 = water wealth location. Activated with a water feature 3. Base Star #8 = similar to Para 1. However, these stars must not be looked into isolation. Thus, you should have knowledge of MS#, WS# and Base# at each sector inorder to properly balance or enhance each sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Sir, my wealth corner is l…

These are some considerations: 1. Applying Flying Star is about looking at the big picture. First. 2. Where are the openings vs e.g. the plotted pie chart to see where qi most likely flow into the home or that sector. This forms the key ingredient in later seeing whether a cure can be put into place if any. 3. Frankly, I can't comprehend this statement: "The five element analysis (mountain vs water) result in earth 5 (inauspiciou) and" (?????)

Dear Utpal, 1. Although, red can be associated with the `fire' element, this is only one perspective or point of view. 2. Far from this single view or vocab that red = fire; red alternatively also represents auspiciousness for the Chinese. 3. Understanding the Five Elements Concept:- 3.1 Besides what I mentioned under Para 2, everything that is tied in red, therefore is symbolic of `auspiciousness'. 3.2 The Six coins cure and the red string or ribbon: For the six coins cure: Six represents `big metal'. The square hole at the centre of this six coins represents `earth' element. Earth element helps to strengthen metal element. Since the arrangement of six coins represent …

    1. For your first question, not a major concern so long as the cover for the sewerage hole is fully sealed. As we don't want "gas" e.g. methane to escape from the man-hole. 2. It is never advisable to have the septic tank around the center of the home. Given that logically how do you drain off excess "gas - methane or other gases". Your second question, is a more important concern. While the first can easily be "rectified" i.e. make sure that the gas or dirty air don't flow and contaminate cooked food in anyway. Perhaps you may have to do `some' homework by doing a search for this. As the same question has been covered recently. This is such a `wide topic'. It may not necessary come under Feng Shui.
