1. Frankly, cleansing varies with different cultures. And races. 2. In the Far East, most people who consider themselves down with luck, often "flower bathe" themselves instead of cleansing the home:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=16295&new= 3. Again, the above "cleansing ritual" may not appeal to people outside of the Far East. 4. In the Far East (especially Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo, Sarawak and Thailand), "cleansing" a home means that the home is "dirty" (some felt that some evil entity stays) in the home. 5. However, I believe, you meant that your house is "clean" but you are purely out of luck, that's all.

Dear Ang, 1. Last year, a few users brought up this subject of the `deadly' Five yellows or strong earth, which is still at the South until 4 Februrary 2000. 2. This calendar of Minor and Major dates which I had complied for the benefit of everyone is at: http://www.geomancy.net/calander/index.htm will show the start of the Chinese New Year on 5 February 2000. It is also useful for a first glance at the `good or bad' dates for an activity or event. 3. This determining of the Five Yellows for this year is based on the Yearly Flying Star Chart. 4. It is too generalised to be of any use to everyone as it is based on the calculation of the Base star of the Flying Star. 5. It …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have one big question. I heard what it is dangerous for marriage to have a fish tank on the left side, if you stay facing the entrance door. But this is our South East side, which supposed to be good for Wealth. Sorry don't quite understand what you are trying to say. Fish tank on the left side of what? And what you mean stay facing the entrance door? Remember, that there are lots of general feng shui tips available, but a lot of time most tips does not explain the reasons behind and and often is meant for certain situation. So sometimes these tips only works when a certain suituation arise. Generaly, for water feature under the flying st…

Dear Kamariah, Since you are in Malaysia, it is easier for you to find a Feng Shui consultant as I believe there are quite alot in the country. Here, you can get the consultant to provide you a package fee i.e. from helping you to select a plot of land and to do a full Feng Shui audit on the selected unit. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joan, 1. I will post one before the start of the dragon year. 2. Many couples yearn for the dragon year as it is considered (overall) an auspicious sign especially for babies especially for a son. The only `negative' point is that if the birth rate for that year increase, there is greater competition for places especially in schools. Some schools may hold larger classes or more selective. Contrast this to children born in the year of the tiger where usually, there are fewer babies born. The above observation is meant for countries with a high percentage of Chinese population. For example, in Singapore, 70 percent of the population is Chinese. Our birth rate is around…

Dear Anon, Please refer to (C) Geomancy.net's Flying Star report input template. Since your house is located at 160 degrees, then select 165 degrees since your house is considered as between the compass direction 157.5 degrees to 172.4 degrees. Your main door is located at the south. If one looks carefully at the attached template, one will find that each sector is based on 15 degrees each. For example North 1 is at 345 degrees, North 2 is at 0 degrees etc.. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Daniel, In open living, ideally, (under Feng Shui conditions) there is still some `partitioning'. It may not be a full wall. It can be something like an eating or storage counter separating the cooking area from the living room. In the living room, the act of placing furniture to segregate the living room from other locations is as effective as using walls. Therefore, there is really no issue here. For an `L' shaped room even if it is an open space can effectively be segregated into two whole rectangles. This is a better FS configuration that leaving the house as an `L' shaped. (This is based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui.) Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Glenetta, To be honest, this has more to do with beliefs than Feng Shui. Since the Chinese consider red as auspicious, usually, anything to do with red is favourable. For example, for us, the Hong Bao or red packet - which is a small red envelope is often given (with dollar notes e.g. $2 or $10) each. A sample of the red packet can be viewed under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?img=0&search=red+packet&cat=all&bool=and Often, the Chinese would buy red paper i.e. red on one side and white on the other side. They would write "lottery" numbers on this paper. If you want to you can do the same. Or if there is a pin…

Dear Anon, 1. The `squeak' has more to do with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. 2. As for the door that does not close properly or difficult to close, it moves closer to Feng Shui and `commonsense approach'. 3. It is best that such as important thing like the main door not being able to close properly is best fixed as soon as possible. 4. As for commonsense approach, if the door is such that it can easily be opened by a burglar, than fix it fast. 5. In some situations where the Flying Star Analysis recommends that a sector has to be `kept quiet' do invest in a can of " WD40 oil". Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ang, 1. You have a valid point here. Frankly, as far I know, so far no one has studied this area in a large scale before. As it is a `recent' while Chinese Feng Shui has been around for more than 2,000 years. 2. Until someone truly studies this closely, we cannot say for sure how accurate their birthchart are based on Pillars of Destiny. 3. However, if we see the logic behind basic Pillars of Destiny, it uses one's Year, Month, Day and Time chart, most likely:- 3.1. the Year chart is still unchanged because no baby has an incubation period of more than 1 year i.e. unless his/her birth falls near Chinese Lunar New Year (end of one Chinese New Year) towards the new ye…

Dear Anon, 1. In general, a neutral colour for a room is white or nowadays there are paints that have light shades of any other colors. 2. This makes the room bright. 3. Under Feng Shui, there are several methods of finding suitable colors: For example:- 3.1 If the home is large e.g. as large as the white house or other stately mansions, one paint each wing a color based on `Feng Shui' colors like.. blue = North, East = green, West = white or gold.... etc 3.2 More professional methods under Traditional FS is to find out one's element and it's strength. After finding out each person's element and strength, for the bedroom, one can then find a Binding element. If the bindin…

1. Although, if you go for a full ba zi analysis, it will tell significantly your 'traits' and types of career - this is only a general comment. 2. Usually, go for your feel. 1. In my opinion, especially in land scarce Singapore or often to maximise the interior layout of the home or apartment; I personallyfind that many of the main doors can open up to90 degrees some can open up to 120 degrees. 2. Thus, if I were to give anrough estimate, at least55 or even 60 percent of all homes in Singapore, have main door that can swing up to 90 degrees only. Thus, thhis is not a crucial factor. 3. I have mentioned in the past that allgovernment flats, have the main door with very auspicious qi openings e.g.the Feng Shui ruler was used to check the openings. Andfor these old flats, even the measurement of the frame and the openings are very auspicious. …

Dear Anon, 1. Can you elaborate what you mean by `a poison arrow near the main door'. 2. A poison arrow has to be aimed at the door and not just (missed or) near the main door. 3.The best test is to stand at the main door, looking outside. If the poison arrow does not aim at the main door, it no longer becomes a poison arrow. 4. Depending on the angle or type of poison arrows, I have given advise to use a few different alternative methods: - Either a semi-circular carpet radiating outwards of the main door, - Two plants on both sides of the main door (for e.g. a lone lampost slicing the centrepoint of the house). I called this the `Triangle effect.' These are the two comm…

Dear Anon, Please take note that a mountain star must be an immovable object. The globe should not rotate even if it has a `stable' base holder. It is good to `visualise' that ideally it has to be a solid immovable object. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sandy, It would be interesting for users in this forum to know, perhaps who has mentioned this `concept' that metal bed `draw away energy'. Frankly, in my opinion, there is no concrete proof of this. Nowadays, many beds also have many metal springs i.e box beds .... If we can understand more and what is the reason for saying that metal bed `draws away energy'... more of us can then make our own judgements about it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

As i'm going to shift into new house, my "new" location for the 地主 will be directly facing front door and i'm intended to put beneath such table. I wonder is it ok? Dear Judith, 1. In my opinion, I feel that if the aloe vera is a `soft' (short) plant. And although it has some thorns, these are equally soft. 2. I personally do have several aloe vera plants and I also do not have an issue. 3. In fact, if they grow well and healthy, this is indeed a very good sign. 4. We can draw a parallel to having a TV set in the bedroom. Many of us grew up at an age where each room in the house has a personal TV set. There is no issue for many of us. This is about tolerance level: How thick is our skin? Some of us thrive on pressure. The key point here is that: we have a short life span on this earth. And, what better way to truly enjoy ourselves w…

It would be better to chart out a Flying Star chart. If so, yes, in general, it may be placed at a MS#9 provided there are no #2 or #5 within that sector. Alternatively, such a light can help to "burn" or neutralise #3.

Dear Ken, I've posted two question on the attached file. From the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, your office table looks like `entrapped' at a `dead' end or corner. Frankly, it does not look good especially if you back is unprotected by a narrow stretch of corridor. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Andrea, To correctly apply Feng Shui, this involves a holistic approach. And the key elements of the holistic approach is the Shapes and Forms (external, interior) as well as the placement and another critical factor is the birth-chart-of-the home. Such as also using the Compass School reading of the interior of the home. Unfortunately, much of what you had given is piecemeal. And it is anyone's guess as to what are the real "leaks-in-the-home" right now. Warmest Regards, Cecil
