Dear Anon, Please read below:- Usually there are two method of looking at this. Firstly you must first determine that the star you are enhancing is a auspicious star. If it is an inauspicious star, then you will be activating it instead. Next, you have to make sure firstly that before you start enhancing that sector the elements are balanced. This means that if there is an inauspicious star destroying the auspicious star, you have to correct it first. After the correction, simply look at the element of the auspicious star, say water, then if the sector has very strong water influence, meaning there is already a metal star in the sector, then my recommedation is to use…

Dear Jaishree, As you are new to Feng Shui, I quite understand you being anxious to go right down to `make changes'. However, it is good to decide on your approach as to how you can find out about FS: 1. If you are in a real hurry to apply Feng Shui, you should consult a FS consultant to check on your house. 2. In normal situations if you are starting to learn Feng Shui, my advise is to start off with a sound foundation and not approach Feng Shui like visiting a fast food outlet that serves fast food. 3. The easiest for a beginner is to start out with: - Understanding Shapes and Form School. There are quite alot of free resources on this site. Or get yourself a book on it…

1. Frankly, in many instances, there is no really need to cleanse the figurines. It is like akin to "nice-to-do" and not a "must-do". 2. In addition, the key success factor is often to make sure that whatever we place at our front door if possible should be:- 2.1 well nourished - figurines... not thin or skeletonal look 2.2 It is even better if these figurines have a "happy face". It is akin to the concept of "greeted" by a happy face! Imagine many of us who rear dogs... when the owner comes back... "that kind of feeling".

Are you referring to the corner of the bookcase - at an angle (poison arrow) aimed at your bed? Usually, the corner of a bookshelf is made of wood; and the approximate poison arrow is around 2 feet distance. While a full concrete wall would exert a poison arrow of 1 metre distance. Often just move the bookshelf further away if possible.

:These are some of the considerations:- 1. What you mentioned, below comes under another concept. 2. Even under "that concept" mentioned above; rarely anyone follows it - unless one is truly a fanatic of such things. (That concept speaks aabout "being cautious" when travelling ..eg. south.. but in no where does it say you MUST not travel e.g. south) 3. Under the 4 Good and Bad directions; only those who have "screws" loose or the lunatic kind may put the 4 Good and Bad + directions together and come up with such a (looney tunes) idea of LINKING the two together. This is no brain-storm. But rather this is instead a NO-brainer idea. 4. Drawing a parallel to such things; say…

Dear Anon, 1. The true essence of Feng Shui is to: - correct any imbalances or sha qi/poison arrows. - enhance beneifical Qi. If one looks at the above carefully, there is a distinction between enhancing Qi and `beliefs' Chinese or otherwise. 2. We commonly hear that a rabbit's foot is `lucky' or hanging a horseshoe is `lucky'. 3. Since what you have mentioned do not directly relate to the `terms of reference' under Feng Shui, it is anybody's guess that any if all beliefs will work. Sometimes it is psychological. Which may result in one thinking positive and thus contribute to `luck'. 4. As the action e.g. is not tailored to an individual, one cannot say for sure that it …

Dear Alice, I must sincerely apologise as I am unable to provide advice based on *Black Hat Sect* type of questions relating to "illumination bagua" or "wind bagua". If you have a sketch of the specific room, I can take alook based on Shapes and Form theory to see if it is optimized for the above. Otherwise, I am really not much use in " Black Hat Sect aka... type of modern ideas. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Frankly, this cannot apply to every single home that has an empty space below it. 2. For example, if so, how about the thousands of Housing Board Flats (government HDB flats) that are scattered all over the island? Does it mean that every single owners of HDB, HUDC flats at 2nd storey will get into "deep shit?" 2.1 If we were to walk around all over Singapore, many have stayed, and are still staying at the 2nd storey flats. I don't see specifically lots of empty flats immediately above VOID decks do you? 3. It has more to do with location, location and location. 4. When the Ritz CaltonHotel was built, they seeked advice from a Feng Shui Master and the Master recom…

Dear Anon, Recently, there are quite alot of discussions on statues and objects. For those who have been in this forum for quite sometime will know that I am going to say that this is related to Chinese beliefs. Some may not even be Chinese beliefs but believes of various people or simply decorative art works. The most common statues found outside Chinese buildings or homes are a pair of lions on each side of the main entrance. It is common to find these statues nearly everywhere. It can be at the main entrance of a restaurant or at the stairs leading to the restaurant. It is found outside Chinese shops and buildings. If one looks at the statute carefully, it is standing …

Dear Anon, 1. One way to look at it is that if no longer can be seen it no longer becomes a `threat'. 2. This statement can apply to the cards that you carry. If it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a `threat'. 3. For example, between carrying inauspicious cards or carrying a briefcase of auspicious length, it matters more if one carries a briefcase of good measurements. 4. If I am not mistaken the standard Imperial foot sized brief case used to hold documents has auspicious measurements:) 5. Another thing is that it we live in a practical world. Not all furniture are tailor made for us. So, we may have to made do with what is available or sold in standard lengths. 6. …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: dear practitioner, i am renovating my bathroom. what would be the best color paint to use since the bathroom is located southwest on the top floor. i need to enhance my love life. i also need to know which other elements should i add. please provide details. my birthday is oct 17, 1969. thank you. please keep my name and identification very private. Generally, the safe colour to use for all rooms where a full flying star analysis isn't considered is always to use very light (near to off-white or white) colours. This colour will be able to neturalise any inauspicious Wood or Earth star under the flying star. In order to enhance your luck (be i…

Dear Anon, So far, I do not believe that anyone has painted their walls black. Black creates a dark environment. Contrast this with a white wash house that looks bright and clean. Therefore, there is some truth in the statement. Applying the 33.3 percent ruleset, other black objects or items should not be an issue here. For example, IBM products are all black. Their excellent IBM thinkpad notebook PCs, some high end PCs are all encased in black. Robert and myself, do use these black machines without cause for concern. Overall, one can also apply the 33.3 percent ruleset where less than 33.3 percent is not going to affect a person. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Daniel, The key ingredient to the shop is the store-front. Pay more attention to the frontage of the fruit shop. As you did not mention the type of store, e.g. one at a Government Housing Block or an upmarket store. If it is at a Housing block, check the demography e.g. is it a new or old housing estate. The best trend is to have an inviting front e.g. open area at the front to display and extend the fruits out to the corridor (if this is permitted). As fruits themselves are colourful and bright, do remember to keep the store clean and bright e.g. white walls. Wishing you sucess in your venture! Warmets Regards, Cecil

These are some considerations: 1. If a sector also has good qi especially those coming in thru a window, good to open such windows to allow qi to flow into the home and when doing so, it does help the centrepoint. 2. Usually after heavy down-pour; good to regularly air the entire home e.g. open all "openings" if possible for a short-while - for qi to refresh into the home. 3. Some homes at the centrepoint has clear space, this is good for #8 at the centrepoint. But this is meant more for a home with 20 year flying star and when one wants to built the home from scratch. 4. If a sector has good star(s); and if one can spent time or activity at that sector; that is good.…

Dear David, David Sim wrote: Hi My birth element is weak water. Is it advisable to lay wooden laminates on the floor as it is unfavourable element? Generally, in any house the flooring/furnitures can usually only be tiles, wood, metaletc. So not likely to completely avoid a certain element. You can minimise it by choosing alternatively material or adding carpets for example. More importantly, it is the colours of the overall room that will impact the luck of the room rather than just the material of the floor. Hope that helps. Dear Marie, If you mean that it is displayed facing `looking' inwards of the house. It is best to avoid, having a dragon figurine facing inwards towards the interior of the house. Where possible, it should face outwards or to an opening i.e. an open window. This is applicable especially to a `five claw' dragon. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Yes, a bedroom should be well ventilated. And moving is generally good: i.e. open window to allow fresh air. 2. Under commonsense approach to Feng Shui, the windows can be opened (fully or partially) so long as :- 2.1. If strong winds, then make sure that the bed (face/head) is directly away from this window. Best that the bed is away from the bed. 2.2. Moving "air" such as placing a fan to circulate air within the bedroom is always a plus point. 2.3. For those who have the privilege of turning on air con; it is best that the air-con should not be located above one's bed-head. As cold winds flow downwards and at night, if air con is turned on, cold air would blow …

Dear Daniel, I don't think it is a good idea to let your car rot since it will make the surrounding chi stale and it might even block the good chi. But then it is just my opinion. Anon

Dear Wendy, Frankly, although some books had mentioned about the ills of living close to high-tension wires; So far, from what I understand there is never a scientic proof that it brings harm to those close-by. Thus often, this is `mind' over `matter'. The only consequence under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui is that the trunk or pole or rod, should not slice into the home. If so, this is sha qi. Frankly, there were recent claims that some handphones had high (microwave radiation). More likely, if this is true, of the ill effects, we most likely can get sick or run down by a "car" than die from high-tension wires. Thus, it does not seem logical to worry too much about this.…
