Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

    1. Most likely, you may have to do like most people do, i.e. go with your personal feelings. 2. If you want to apply proper Feng Shui to evaluate your home, then the advice for a newbie is: Rome is not built in a day, and if you want to DIY Feng Shui, then like any other subject, one must invest in time and knowledge. Alternatively, if one is impatient and need immediate answers may consider hiring a practitioner, instead.

  2. Dear Anon, Frankly, I am not too sure about the name of the plant. So far, the plant continues to have flower buds and as soon as one set of flowers `die', the new set of flowers bloom all year round. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil, Thank you very much for the quick response. I am quite understand now about the houses on hilltops. But how about those houses having the stove sit right at the northwest corner which burn the breadwinner's luck? My friend is hesitate to move in such a house but all the neighbors who have the same floorplan seem to have lived there peacefully for years. I also have another question concerning about the four animal symbols. In your major Fengshui theories online, you describe the north is tortise and south is phoenix. The house should sit against the hill (tortise, north) and facing the south. But my house is facing the north (open space) and against a hill (so…

  4. Dear Anon, Where possible, a house should not have missing corners. But there are exceptions like the shape of the top two units of the condominum. Here, the shape of two palms in gentle embrace or `receiving' position outweights any `missing' corner. If one looks carefully, the house is triangular in shape. This is not ideal but symbolism of the house and also that it has a Double 7 at the main entrance, plus the centrepoint is `clear' space works for it. Therefore, I am trying to show `exceptional' units that need not conform to the present mind set of houses that must not have missing corners. In this case, if one looks carefully at the master bedroom it is infact a pr…

  5. Dear Daniel, This area is quite difficult to `pinpoint' under Feng Shui as the fundamental concept would be based on Yin and Yang concept. Of balacing it e.g. creating a more yin or yang environment based on individual's habbits and preferences. Some of us prefer to study or do work with music on (and it also depends on the type of music) or some of us must have the quietest environment to concentrate. 1. Perhaps, you can go thru your mind, what is your preference like in the past and present and try to see if you can create such an environment. 2. I have read quite often that it is good to find a specific location that you feel comfortable in (advantages if it can be i…

Dear Cassendra, The important thing about bed placement is that you should try to place the bed in a position if possible as shown in this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm It is very common when you apply the sleep position that you are both exact opposite (ie what is good for you isn't good for the other). So the only thing you do is to check out the eight house to see which side of the bed you should be sleeping. (ie North side which is closer to the left side of the bed is disaster, while North-East closer to the right side of the bed is health. Then you should opt for the right side of the bed.) This way each of you get to sleep on …

  7. Dear Toni, Presently, it is my belief that the two elements that one should be concerned are: 1. Water Water signifies "difficulty" in the I-Ching. Usually water at the centre of the house would pose a problem. 2. Fire (real fire) as in a fire place is the second thing to take note of. The second part is less of a concern than water but more study should be done on this area. Other than that, having a linen cupboard is the lesser of the two `evils'. I believe that this is of less concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  8. Started by realtorfc,

Dear Fred, 1. It would be better if a partition (if possible) be placed between the front door and the staircase instead of a crystal. Usually, a crystal would not (in my opinion work). 2. To slow down the qi, plants could be placed at the steps of the stairs. (But preference should be given to Para 1.) 3. Based on your description, looks like the frontage of the house is the ocean view side instead of the main door side. In such a situation, it would not be ideal to place a water position on the `technical' front side of the house. 4. Usually, it is best if a physical FS audit could be done as it is difficult to advise on this on paper. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Ideally, it should be a painting e.g. of a mountain scenery or an object with immovable mass. For the bamboo style plate, in general, it is in my opinion too `weak' to be classified to activate the mountain star. Yes, if the sector is an auspicious sector, it is even better to activate a mountain star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Aj, 1. There is a reference to the interpretation of colours at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/colours.htm 2. Yes, there are many `ways' Feng Shui practitioners interpret the use of colours. 3. In general, the safest colours for say a house is white. 3.1 As white represents the metal element and is usually, Metal element is predominantly used as a cure for both `bad' wood and `bad' earth elements under the Flying Star Feng Shui. 3.2 Of course colours are subjected to many many interpretations: 3.2.1 Some practitioners apply or advise colours based on `feelings'. 3.2.2 While other practitioners or usually books on Feng Shui may say that since North = Water element and Wa…

    1. In general, it is not so good to have a water feature at NW sector unless one can confirm or use Flying Star Feng Shui and so happens that the water star #8 could be at this location. 2. Otherwise, it is still not the best location - based purely on very general Feng Shui (Five elements) concept.

Dear Carrie, It is best to use 6 (hollow) rods. It can be made of brass or even (silver) aluminium. The centre `clinger' or the support roof can be made of either metal or wood. I personally find a wooden material the centre `clinger' that hits the 6 rods better than metal. Since it is lighter and with the slightest breeze is easier moved by the wind. For information, the rationale for using 6 rods is because 6 represents `BIG METAL'. And metal is often used as a cure. Alternatives for wind chime is to place six coins (preferably the Chinese coins with square holes at the centre) into a glass jar (e.g. a glass jam jar). Add a spoonful of salt and water. But this alterna…

    1. Frankly, spook or irritation are very close. Unless it is disaster vs spook or irritation or death vs spook or irritation, then there is a "vast" difference. 2. Thus in general, when it comes to the "eight house" or using it to allocate a bedroom; very hard to differentiate between spook or irritation. 3. And it seems that both children are of the "west" group, have to just go with your feel. Alternatively, if one is able to draw a flying star chart, then see which bedroom can match their bazi colours. For example, say the bedroom at the SW is better suited for some colours based on the flynig star. While some colours are to avoid. E.g. the bedroom should avoid Eart…

Dear Rodica, There are many ways to look at health in Feng Shui and Chinese Divinity Methods. Usually, one should not fall sick often. If so, one good tool is the Flying Star Theory. Here, look out for Flying Star: Star 2 influence. It could most likely be in the bedroom. Star 2 (Sickness Star) and Star 5 (Misfortune) when combined together are two of the `worst' stars under this Theory. Underground water directly below a house also have negative effects. In independent German studies, have conclusively shown that when the study plotted water courses under a house, the incidence of cancer arouse. The above are worst case senarios. Other related Chinese principles include:…

  20. Dear Tervino, It boils down to time factor:- 1. If one analyses the Eight House Theory carefully, it only considers the YEAR of birth. 2. Thus the Kua numbers under the Eight House Theory takes into consideration house directions based on YEAR of birth. 3. Pillars of Destiny, uses the YEAR, MONTH, DAY and TIME of birth. More advanced Pillars of Destiny considers two more pillars : Pillars of Life and Conception. Here, the final result or one's final element is considered `more' accurate than the one based on Kua numbers under the Eight House. Thus, in reality, one's Pillars of Destiny's element is theoritically more accurate because of this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Ultimately, your location, priceof your home, how clean it looks etc. All these will be the determining factor f…
