Dear Cassendra, The important thing about bed placement is that you should try to place the bed in a position if possible as shown in this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm It is very common when you apply the sleep position that you are both exact opposite (ie what is good for you isn't good for the other). So the only thing you do is to check out the eight house to see which side of the bed you should be sleeping. (ie North side which is closer to the left side of the bed is disaster, while North-East closer to the right side of the bed is health. Then you should opt for the right side of the bed.) This way each of you get to sleep on …

1. In my opinion, majority of these things are modern commercial products. (Virtually useless.) 2. Just imagine, your parents and grand parents time don't have such things how? 3. Look at it this way: How old are you? And how old have you own a car? Did you when you bought the first car or this car; place any of such "charms". 4. If I were you, I will re-read Para 1; if one cannot find the answers you wanted. 5. Even if it was given out of good will by your friend; Please refer to Para 1. 6. Is it a coincidence that I bought a red car and/or a grey car that I was involved in more accidents than I would with any other coloured colour? 6.1. Scientifically, it was found tha…

Hi, I just bought my new home and after calculating my compass direction, it is facing south and sitting on north direction. Hence, it is a Kan Fire House, right? By using the calculation on the website, I was determined as KUA type, strong yin water (wood) tiger. My favorable elements are wood and earth. However, when I calculate for my husband, he is a KUN type, strong yin wood (metal) monkey. Hence, his favorable elements are fire and metal. May I know how can if my Kan Fire house is good for both of us? And if, not, what are the remedies I can do? In view of renovating my new home, I know that I need to focus first on the 5 elements bagua, using colours and materia…

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'ma strong water. What's the best car color for me, red, green, or yellow? Strong Water normally means that Wood (green/brown), Fire (red), Earth (yellow)are your favourable. Fire (red) will be wealth to Strong Water. If I am not wrong you have previously purchased a ba zi premium report, right? Check your five element percentage in your ba zi overview summary report, see which element you lack most. The element you have least percentage among the favourable element, means that you lackthat element. So that element/colour becomes your most effective element/colour to go for. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Ideally, it should be a painting e.g. of a mountain scenery or an object with immovable mass. For the bamboo style plate, in general, it is in my opinion too `weak' to be classified to activate the mountain star. Yes, if the sector is an auspicious sector, it is even better to activate a mountain star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil, Thank you very much for the quick response. I am quite understand now about the houses on hilltops. But how about those houses having the stove sit right at the northwest corner which burn the breadwinner's luck? My friend is hesitate to move in such a house but all the neighbors who have the same floorplan seem to have lived there peacefully for years. I also have another question concerning about the four animal symbols. In your major Fengshui theories online, you describe the north is tortise and south is phoenix. The house should sit against the hill (tortise, north) and facing the south. But my house is facing the north (open space) and against a hill (so…

Dear Simon, Simon Lau wrote: Want to seek your opinion whether I could follow what this webpage has advised on how I could improve my luck, fortune, etc As mentioned time and time again, true feng shui does not really require the use of any feng shui items or products. The only true way to improveyour heaven luck is to know what element you are, and then work to ensure that as many areas in your life is of the favourable element. This is done by knowing your element and relating it to the various five element relationship as shown in this link:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net The other, is ensure that you get a house with good feng shui luck and ensure that it is suit…

Dear Carrie, It is best to use 6 (hollow) rods. It can be made of brass or even (silver) aluminium. The centre `clinger' or the support roof can be made of either metal or wood. I personally find a wooden material the centre `clinger' that hits the 6 rods better than metal. Since it is lighter and with the slightest breeze is easier moved by the wind. For information, the rationale for using 6 rods is because 6 represents `BIG METAL'. And metal is often used as a cure. Alternatives for wind chime is to place six coins (preferably the Chinese coins with square holes at the centre) into a glass jar (e.g. a glass jam jar). Add a spoonful of salt and water. But this alterna…

Dear Rodica, There are many ways to look at health in Feng Shui and Chinese Divinity Methods. Usually, one should not fall sick often. If so, one good tool is the Flying Star Theory. Here, look out for Flying Star: Star 2 influence. It could most likely be in the bedroom. Star 2 (Sickness Star) and Star 5 (Misfortune) when combined together are two of the `worst' stars under this Theory. Underground water directly below a house also have negative effects. In independent German studies, have conclusively shown that when the study plotted water courses under a house, the incidence of cancer arouse. The above are worst case senarios. Other related Chinese principles include:…

Dear Daniel, This area is quite difficult to `pinpoint' under Feng Shui as the fundamental concept would be based on Yin and Yang concept. Of balacing it e.g. creating a more yin or yang environment based on individual's habbits and preferences. Some of us prefer to study or do work with music on (and it also depends on the type of music) or some of us must have the quietest environment to concentrate. 1. Perhaps, you can go thru your mind, what is your preference like in the past and present and try to see if you can create such an environment. 2. I have read quite often that it is good to find a specific location that you feel comfortable in (advantages if it can be i…

Dear Anon, 1. Further to what I had mentioned, what was mentioned below, is considered a modern invention. And have very low success rate. 2. Drawing a parallel, locally in my country, a typical low success rate has the following characteristics:- 2.1 The breadwinner has been staying in the same house for more than 3 or more years. 2.2 This typical house often: has a figurine of a laughing buddha and or a three-legged toad. 2.3 The owner is often a Chinese educated person. (Often stay in a 3 or 4 room government housing board flat). 2.4 Often, believes wholeheartedly of a wealth corner. And, if need be, would often place a ba gua mirror at the main door. Often, many of su…

These are some considerations: 1. You wrote: The hallway door is facing my nice glass balcony one. 1.1. Without a photo, it is difficult to fully grasp this. As often, unless one is physically at the home/apartment; or at least see the layout out; 1.2. Harder here to understand what you mean. And also, how large is the "nice glass balcony" and whether you open it or slam shut it most of the time. 2. With all the haze around, one possibility could be the frontage could be "facing the street" view. 3. Other considerations include: if you always slam-shut your main door when at home; then this is highly unlikely to be your frontage.

Dear Susan, We have to see it from two perspectives: 1. If we do not relate it to Feng Shui concepts, simply choose a neutral color like white or a color that you feel that would look good at this sector. 2. Under Feng Shui, we study each person's element and strength plus the house chart and then `select' a colour scheme for the sector. Usually, most of the time, like in Para 1, a neutral color like white or pastel or light shades of a color onto white is ok. We also have to use a common sense approach. Here, check to see the lighting in the home. If there is always natural light, it would be nice to keep the home `naturally' bright and again a neutral color would be nic…

Dear Vi King, 1. In my opinion, the compass reading for the purpose of determining i.e. the Flying Star chart and Eight House Chart. It is best to use the wooden door entrance. 2. Looking at the `brightest side' or frontage of the house is: 2.1 It is very easy for anyone even say a practitioner to regard e.g. the sliding glass window(s) as the "main entrance" area. But, usually this is quite a large area spanning many degrees. The question asked is: if there are many sliding panels? where do we place the location of the door? 2.2 Here, it is easy to say, but difficult to apply even for a FS practitioner. Even, say a FS practitioner pointed out (if there is 4 panel sliding…

Dear Kat Kanz, kat kanz wrote: IfI live in the south hemisphere( Peru- South America) and I`m using a compass to apply the 9 Stars Method, Polar Star, etc then how it will affect Feng Shui since we have opposite weather, time, location, etc. All my books come from Europe and Usa, so I`m not sure if the information is valid in Lima-Peru. A few traditional Feng Shui Masters have stated their views that there should not be any changes with respect to people living in the South Hemisphere. We also believe there is really no need to make any special alternation to the feng shui analysis. Actually, the seasons in the South is still the same as in the North. Only difference it…

Frankly there are some materials on this subject, but are scattered all over the website: 1. Mirror facing Dining table Try to use one piece or three pieces instead of two equal sized ones. If we can visualise, two pieces when placed against the dining table is slicing the middle of (or spliting) the middle of the dining table, inauspicious. 2. There are many other exampes of mirrors in a bedroom, facing entranceetc...

I was wondering if having an incompatible bazi means the end of the relationship even if we get along really well? (F Aug 4, 1996 13:30 born and M Mar 28, 1991 no hour) Is it possible for us to work it out or make it better? Guy also has a rat mom and has very good relationship with mom while girl has ox mom but is always arguing with her mom.

Dear Denise, Please see below:- Welcome to the forum. Under the Eight House theory, there is really not much one can do other than understand that the house is the least suitable to you. But one should look at the bigger picture. For example, what intangible force is affecting the bedroom. Here, it is best that it is one of the four good intangible forces. On the other hand if one spouse has a good intangible force and the other not so good, let the spouse with the better intangible force sleep closer to that sector. For example if the husband's intangible force is prosperity while the wife's is disaster at the North sector (where the bed is). Let the husband sl…

Dear Dave, You can try to search for : " Food and Yin and Yang" or Yin and Yang Foods...or foods that are yin and yang... As under the Chinese system as you have mentioned, food can be classified as under Hot (Yang) and Cold (Yin).... In general, chicken and pork should in my opinion, be classified as under "white meat". Nowadays, the main concern is that animals both chicken and pig (pork) may be injected with too much anti-biotics... Warmest Regards, Cecil
