Dear Denise, Please see below:- Welcome to the forum. Under the Eight House theory, there is really not much one can do other than understand that the house is the least suitable to you. But one should look at the bigger picture. For example, what intangible force is affecting the bedroom. Here, it is best that it is one of the four good intangible forces. On the other hand if one spouse has a good intangible force and the other not so good, let the spouse with the better intangible force sleep closer to that sector. For example if the husband's intangible force is prosperity while the wife's is disaster at the North sector (where the bed is). Let the husband sl…

Dear Susan, We have to see it from two perspectives: 1. If we do not relate it to Feng Shui concepts, simply choose a neutral color like white or a color that you feel that would look good at this sector. 2. Under Feng Shui, we study each person's element and strength plus the house chart and then `select' a colour scheme for the sector. Usually, most of the time, like in Para 1, a neutral color like white or pastel or light shades of a color onto white is ok. We also have to use a common sense approach. Here, check to see the lighting in the home. If there is always natural light, it would be nice to keep the home `naturally' bright and again a neutral color would be nic…

Dear XiuMei, 1. Is it possible to upload a sketch of the bedroom and its attached toilet and the proposed wall that you want to knock down. This would help me to understand the layout out better. 2. Usually, it is still acceptable to have an `L' shaped bedroom. Of course, ideally, the room should try to be of rectangular or squarish shape. 3. An `L' shaped room can easily be `cured' by having a partition or a divider (if space provides or that it does not hinder the placement of the King/queen sized bed. 4. An `L' shaped room is in my opinion, acceptable. Sometimes, even if the bedroom is odd shaped, if one makes the effort to e.g. use built in cabinets to `cure' the room…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: 1) Iunderstand that I amastrong water element. How do I go about reducing this element and increasing other elements which I am weak at? In what ways? Should I avoid going forany other water related activities such as swimming? You should go by the Strong Water element characteristics. As a Strong Water means you generally have too much Metal and Water which makes you overly strong as such Metal and Water becomes your unfavourable element. While Wood which exhaust your excess Water and Earth which destroy your Wood help to control you excess Water which makes you Strong. These element becomes your favourable element. Dear Andy, Generally, you can opt for: First Choice:- A. Metal (white / gold or silver) with Water (blue, black or grey) combination. Second Choice:- B. Metal (white / gold or silver) with Water (blue, black or grey) with Wood (Green or brown) Where: (Metal = circle, water = wavy or wood = tall and thin) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Frankly there are some materials on this subject, but are scattered all over the website: 1. Mirror facing Dining table Try to use one piece or three pieces instead of two equal sized ones. If we can visualise, two pieces when placed against the dining table is slicing the middle of (or spliting) the middle of the dining table, inauspicious. 2. There are many other exampes of mirrors in a bedroom, facing entranceetc...

1. The saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words". 2. A line of sentence cannot fully describe the specific "cul de sac" as a home can land anywhere along this cul de sac. And there are different consequences or no-issue for some homes.

Dear Anon, 1. Personally, I feel that the main drawback of a figure eight condominium complex is the shape of the apartments. It tends to circular and not that ideal under `Shapes and Form' Feng Shui. (Especially if the rooms are curved.) 2. It also makes it difficult to place furniture on the side of the curving wall. On has then to try and `correct' the shape by getting custom made furniture. 3. Basically, it is the main synificance of the number 8 that `sounds' attractive. Otherwise, it is like any other developments. 4. One plus point or a demerit depends on the frontage of the house. If the frontage faces outwards, than all the apartments will have in a way water pos…

Dear Sharlene, Sharlene Soh wrote: Qn 1: Could you please advise what is the impact to a person whoworks in an industry belonging to his unfavourable element but the jobscope is of a favourable element? and vice versa? Of course that won't be as favourable as having both a industry and job scope that is favourable. So it will be a mixed element career. As to whether good or bad, really depends on the element. For example, a weak wood person, if the industry is metal, but the job scope is water. Metal destroy weak wood which would seem to be bad, but as water helps wood, and metal actually makes water stronger. Therefore, this industry helps to boost the job scope eleme…

Dear Anon, Grateful if you can further elaborate on the extension. For example is it an `external' extension for a car park or an internal one. If internal, what is it used for. In addition, anyone who is familiar with the history of the house. This is because, beside the new extension, we could perhaps, `back-track' to see if any events match the flying star of the period. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Yes, I do agree with you that there are many different opinions on the Ba Gua mirror. 1. We can look at it primarily under two broad categories:- 1.) With a religious inclination 2.) To protect against Sha Qi such as a house with the main entrance facing a `T' junction or other poision arrows. 2. The advice provided is also based on the inclination of the practitioner. For example, if the practitioner is `deeply rooted' in religious beliefs, he/she may ask their customers to use a Ba Gua mirror for almost every door of the house i.e. the main entrance, the kitchen door and the backdoor (facing outwards). 3. Some practitioners even are not convinced about the Ba…

Zi Wei plots "stars" from a persons date and time of birth, and uses the position and strength of these stars to determine the fortune of a person. Ba Zi is similiar, but uses eight Chinese characters from the date and time of birth. Both are used to determine a person's "Heaven Luck". What they were born with. In this regard, they are both the same. As to which is more accurate. I personally believe it is down to what you want to know. Some questions Ba Zi, or Zi Wei can handle. Some other questions, Zi Wei does a lot better than Ba Zi, and vice versa. And in some cases, neither is of really much help. So accuracy is (IMO) dependant on the competency of the person readin…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Could you convert my DOB for me, I was born on May 4, 1968 of the Chinese calender and I would like to know what was the Western calender? Some people told me it is May 30 and some told me June 01. Based on the chinese lunar calendar:- Lunar: 4th day, 5th month of1968 Western: 30 May 1968 So 30 May 1968 is the correct western date of birth for you. If western: 1 Jun 1968, then your lunar is 6th day , 5th month of 1968. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

1. Other Traditional methods: Since this is a "metallic" "beam", then another option is to draw a small thin red line where this air-duct is just above your head or use scotch tape or masking tape and place a thin red string with two ends with the tape. The red string runs above your head. 2. If you do it properly, very hard to notice the red "line". This red line represents fire element to curtail the "metal". Hope the above helps.

In the Five Elements concept (or simply, in theory), a weak wood can actually increase the weak wood with "water element" and "wood element". Thus strictly from a career perspective, for example, an accountant (metal) in a water element company e.g. Pepsi or Coke is one example. Or another example is that of an accountant by training but one's work scope is "wood specialisation". Wood can range from a CEO, making a company grow, or many other wood careers eg.. co-ordination, training, teaching and many more. Most importantly, we should be very thankful that you have talents to go so far as to go into one of the professions where there is a proper professional body! A…

Dear Vi King, 1. In my opinion, the compass reading for the purpose of determining i.e. the Flying Star chart and Eight House Chart. It is best to use the wooden door entrance. 2. Looking at the `brightest side' or frontage of the house is: 2.1 It is very easy for anyone even say a practitioner to regard e.g. the sliding glass window(s) as the "main entrance" area. But, usually this is quite a large area spanning many degrees. The question asked is: if there are many sliding panels? where do we place the location of the door? 2.2 Here, it is easy to say, but difficult to apply even for a FS practitioner. Even, say a FS practitioner pointed out (if there is 4 panel sliding…

Dear Anon, It is best to avoid Death / Disaster which are the worst cases. As for the ranking of Spook / Irritation, these are inauspicious. Frankly, one need not need to find a weightage of which is the worst or not too bad based on a ranking system. What matters most is to try to avoid the most inaupicious : Death / Disaster. While Spook / Irritation is considered inauspicious. Looking at it in another way, all the four auspicious sectors e.g. Prosperity, Longevity etc.. are considered auspicious. Is there a purpose to rank them? The issue here is to try to avoid " Death / Disaster " as far as possible. While Spook and Irritation ... are inauspicious. Warmest Regards, C…

Dear Anon, Actually, when we consider luck under metaphysics (Geomancy), we should look at it from a holistic approach involving three types of luck:- Previously, I have already mentioned about three kinds of luck:- 1. Heaven Luck (known as Luck that was given to us when we are born) If we can see our Ba Zi chart, it comes under the category known as Pian Cai or "lottery or windfall" luck. Some of us are quite lucky while others do not have this type of luck at all. Worse, some of us have this luck only when we are at death bed e.g. 99 or 100 years old! 2. Earth Luck (or commonly known as Feng Shui) While some of us many not have Pian cai or lottery luck, some of u…

These are some considerations: 1. You wrote: The hallway door is facing my nice glass balcony one. 1.1. Without a photo, it is difficult to fully grasp this. As often, unless one is physically at the home/apartment; or at least see the layout out; 1.2. Harder here to understand what you mean. And also, how large is the "nice glass balcony" and whether you open it or slam shut it most of the time. 2. With all the haze around, one possibility could be the frontage could be "facing the street" view. 3. Other considerations include: if you always slam-shut your main door when at home; then this is highly unlikely to be your frontage.

Dear Chee Foo, Please see below:- Since your flat is so high, you should take North as the facing direction. Frankly, for a standalone (landed property) home, it is much easier to fly over the new period. Since for the landed property, removing some of the roof-tiles and replacing them (plus cleaning the rest) would help. In my opinion, since we are just begining to change qi, it is better to do what is mentioned by you, perferably one or two months later rather than during this interim `cut-off' period. For an apartment, usually to play safe, one symbolic method is to paint the entire ceiling. This is symbolic of removing the roof of the "apartment". As lion danc…

Dear Anon, Thank you for your attachments. Although, it would be interesting to comment on religious buildings; it is prudent to understand that:- 1. Authentic Traditional Feng Shui is not a religion. Everyone be it a layperson or even religious preaches have their own right of view of such things as Feng Shui. 2. I have a strong regard and respect each religion. And as mentioned above, it would not be prudent to comment even on the `house' which the church sits on. Warmest Regards, Cecil
