  1. Accountancy is of the metal element. I personally would consider cartooning to be a form of Art and hence of the water element. Glyn

  2. Dear Anon, Yes, this is the case. For example, at the main entrance area, where one can activate the water star, i.e. clear space in-front. One cannot possible activate a mountain star at this location. The logic is the same e.g. in the living room where one should not activate a mountain star. If there is a wall and a mountain star is `available' one cannot activate a mountain star and a water star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  3. Dear Anon, No, one should avoid activating the mountain star at the front or at the main door. The point here to remember that activating a mountain star at the main door, the front or the living room is like `placing' a moutain at our `eyes'. We have to remember that the frontage is best to have clear space or a bird flying freely. The same concept applies in our living room. The mountain star (if there is one) is to activate e.g. inside a wall in a bedroom or at the back door area. The concept of mountain (solid backing) and the water (clear space) in front is what it all means. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Is it the directionmy house facing on ormy housesitting on?Please your advise, thanks. A lot of terms used by other practitioner can be confusing especially when you come to facingsitting. This is because you have to also make sure that you are using the right orientation of the compass. Most will use the Chinese compass, which is South-North orientation which can add another level of confusion if you are not careful. However, our website standardize all the flying star/eight house chart based on a normal western compass. This means that if the chart …

Hi Anon, No. It is very different from 8 aspiration theory or 8 associate direction theory and even 8 house theory. 8 aspiration uses only the bagua without relating it to a person's date of birth. Thus, it is considered static. And is normally practised by BTB practitioners. Even for 8 house, there is a use of the year of birth. to relate to the 8 trigrams. However, this is limited to an yearly accuracy only. For ba zi feng shui, you need to know:- 1. The full date of birth (day, month, year and hour of birth if possible). 2. Your true Feng Shui element. Only then can you deduce the personal directions using ba zi feng shui. However, you will have 24 directions inst…

  8. Dear Serina, Quote: Thanks again for your advises. In the six months since I bought my new-blue car, it was once broken-into by a thief, twice being damaged in the carpark and one recent collision with another car. I questioned about the colour of the car after reading your "Free Personal Ba Zi" which stated that Blue isone of the unfavourable element for a weak Metal. Generally, when luck isn't favouring you espeically from a few different areas (ie your ba zi luck, house luck etc). Such issues will occur. This is what we call compounded effect of the bad or unfavourable luck. As such, it means that you need to enhance as much of other areas in order to balance up …

  9. Dear Sushma, 1. In Singapore, often, I have only seen the lower income to `lower middle' income buy such objects. Rarely if any; do I see the mid-middle income to higher-middle income to the rich buy such things. This would `give' a clue as to it's usefulness. 2. Sometimes, it is not advisable to bring in any type of `figurines' into the home. There are often many situations where, (if in an occasion that) we bring in the `wrong things' than this can be detrimental. 3. Perhaps, try to SEARCH for " tomb " or " Japanese " where I had written an actual case of `inviting' the wrong spirits home. 4. I am not saying that your figurine has anything to do with or remotely to do w…

  10. Further to what I had mentioned, for those who are not aware of the Chinese culture, ringing bell etc... is performed as a `rite' for someone who has died. Chinese monks who perfom the last burial rites use bells etc.. to guide the dead to their burial place. Here like wind chimes, one may inadvertently call some wondering `spirits' to the home. 11. 1. Frankly, it is common sense. 2. But this cow sense geomancer has to add these sentences... 2.1. As many of us know; in the English language: 2.2. We know what is the difference between a stove and an oven. How? 2.3. One cow sense way to differentiate the two is: 2.3.1 In the English vocab; we add an "a" in-front of stove. While since an oven starts with an "o" when we make a sentence out of "oven" we have to add "an" in-front of the word "oven" Right? 3. And since stove starts with S ; while oven starts with O: they are not the same rite? Got it? Get it? 4. Common sense says that the proper way to describe a microwave is not just microwave but mircowave OVEN. 5. So ar…

  12. Dear Anon, Most practioners do not take into consideration the covered porch as it is not a `living quarters'. A few persons I understand took it wrongly to mean that this is a `missing' corner or a `protrusion.'. Since you are using a pie chart, you should usually consider up to the Main entrance door area. I agree that using a pie chart, is much easier than using the 9 squares method. What matters most is to be able to know what influences is at each of the sector. From here, you can then better place your furniture etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Grateful if all users can take note when creating a new topic, please try not to use one syllable word e.g. Dowsing. I have changed the wording to: Is Dowsing Important? This is because it is easier for Users here to `pick' and choose the topic they want to read. Thanks in advance. To find out more on what you have mentioned please go to this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm You will find the answer there. Thanks. Cecil

  14. Dear Dave, You can try to search for : " Food and Yin and Yang" or Yin and Yang Foods...or foods that are yin and yang... As under the Chinese system as you have mentioned, food can be classified as under Hot (Yang) and Cold (Yin).... In general, chicken and pork should in my opinion, be classified as under "white meat". Nowadays, the main concern is that animals both chicken and pig (pork) may be injected with too much anti-biotics... Warmest Regards, Cecil

  15. These are some considerations: 1. Both Flying Star and Eight Mansions belong to the same School. 2. They belong to the Compass School. 3. What you mentioned has more to do with technique(s). 3.1. For example, when you say "the most bright and view frontage" this is a precusor to trying to use which sector to PLOT a flying star. 4. Since both Flying Star and Eight mansions belong to the compass school; and both depend on one single entity: the MAGNETIC North. 5. Therefore, how can they differ when we need to match both onto a layout that has ONE single NORTH marking on it. 6. Therefore, one should not confuse upon the technique to determine the facing direction of the Fl…

So given gua 7 is West group facing, so SW facing house is good for you. If the house is built after 2004 (period 8 house), the SW facing will have very good feng shui luck compared to other facing direction, but several sectors will need to be balanced else health issues may arise. As for FOOK, this word `translated' in " English " and not the true Romanised form is too generalised to know what the word is. So unable to comment further. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, no, halogen lamps are not considered bad. ONly that it has a higher concentration of lighting even if it gives off heat. Many Feng Shui practioners believe that lighting whether it is from a light bulb or halogen lamp is still considered light. To many artificial light is another source of beneficial Qi. Furthermore, there is no impact from its shape because it is small. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  19. Dear Anon, As vines and creepers are plants, there is really no harm in having them in places (in the house) where one feels comfortable having them. If they able to grow and needs little maintenance, this is acceptable. The `taboo' is to avoid having them at the bedroom. The reason cited is that they are growing and a bedroom where possible should be more `yin'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  20. Dear Anon, Grateful if you can elaborate further. As my initial understanding is that the chimney should be on the side of the door? Or is it possible for the fire place to be exactly one floor upstairs just above the main entrance door? Thanks. Cecil

Having a small sectional sofa in your small home can offer you a lot of seating in relation to the space. They can turn any room into a warm, conversational and intimate area where you can just relax or entertain friends. It is very important that you find the right size sectional sofa for your small space; a very large sectional sofa can overwhelm the small room. When decorating and choosing furnishings for one of these smaller areas, one must be aware of proportion. A large sofa or sectional sofa will overwhelm the room's view as well as its useable space. A small sectional sofa can be made to perfectly fit and utilize the space. One of the greatest benefits of sectiona…

  23. Dear Anon, Here are some of the following points to note with a rock garden: 1. Generally, rocks are considered `yang'. It is best to have a garden with a mix of Yin and Yang or a balance of both. Japanese landscaped gardens are excellent examples of a good mix of yin and yang. 2. If you have rocks in the garden make sure that the shape or profile of the rocks do not look like `monsters or creatures'. These are considered inauspicious. 3. Usually, as the frontage of the house is `important' i.e. we always try to protect our frontage. Ideally, plants are best at doing so. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Is having a TV really bad inbedroom The rational behind a TV being bad is only because in the past the TV screens are more of those reflective types. Which looks similiar to a mirror. So it is said that when you sleep, your spirit leaves your body. It may get a shock when it sees itself in the TV screen. So this is why a TV is typically deemed bad. However, what if your spirit is the type that wants to look good, it will see itself in the TV, then comb your hair to before flying off. So ultimately, this is a matter individual perception. Furthermore, now-a-days with the LCD TV, there isn't any reflection at all. Furthermore, TV is a form of e…

Dear Mark, Firstly, East (Green Dragon) domain Logically East is the location of the rising sun and thus a Yang location. The Green Dragon is considered the most Yang of all Feng Shui animals. It is encouraged that plants can be grown here. West (White Tiger) domain The White is considered the most Yin of all Feng Shui animals. It is considered courageous and noble animal. It is also seen by many FS practioners as a fierce and determined animal. How can it be noble and yet `fierce.' One reason is that it is located at a Yin location and Yin refers to the `dead' and is considered not as favourable as the EAST or `rising sun' location. 3. Under the Landscape School of Feng…
