Dear Eric, In my opinion, the Ba Gua symbol has been used on Toaist priest's clothings. Sometimes you find it on the front of their clothings and on occassions, it is on the back of their clothings. One may consider just tatooing the Yin-Yang symbol only i.e. which is found at the centre of the Ba Gua. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hello there! I am so very new to all this and would very much appreciate any assistance/ information/ resources but totally understand if my question is totally inappropriate! My husband and I have a camper car that we use for extensive trips touring our beautiful country. We adore our 'truck' and it is parked outside our unit on the street as it is too tall to fit in our garage. We are keen to keep it safe and secure with Fen Shui. Is there anything we can do to deter any negative energy that might be attracted to our camper so that is doesn't get stolen or damaged? Thank you!

Dear Cecil and Forum Members You may recall, on 28 July I posted a question regarding my sinus/post nasal drip problem which I have had since October 2002. Cecil suggested I move my bed away from the window. I did this last Monday. I also ceased taking my homeopathics that day to see what would occur. Within 24 hours 98% of the mucous in my sinuses had dried up and I now rarely cough at night time or in the mornings. The difference is quite staggering actually. My husband now gets a good nights sleep, rather than being wakened up by me coughing my head off. He of course is thrilled to bits ! I was sleeping on the favourable mountain star #7, but as Cecil always says, shap…

Dear Anon, When confronted with such issues, we can logically:- 1. How long have u stayed in this house? 2. If one has stayed in the home for more than 6 months and do not encounter obstacles especially financial or health, then, the tree is not a major problem. But if it does, than, it is a potential threat to the breadwinner. 3. It is true that if the tree `mysteriously disappear' *JOKE* or has been removed, then there is no issue. 4. If it does not slice thru your main door directly, then usually this is not a threat to your main door. 5. If despite of Para 4, one faces problems, then, try to check for other leaks (either several minor leaks) or a combination of one o…

  7. Hi, I agree that this small pocket sized book is `excellent'. I purchased it I think 4 years ago. One interesting thing I found was that when I looked up my trigram and one career option of mine as stated in the `career' section is a fortune teller. What a coincidence:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Further to what I mentioned below: 1. What I mentioned refers more towards visit / condolence for a `natural' death such as cancer, heart attact, old age etc... (Accidents e.g. car accidents included) 2. For death due to suicide, murder etc... For suicide, most of the cases, in my country the police would handcuff the dead as he/she had committed a crime. For example, if it looks like a clear case of suicide e.g. jumping down a high storey. Some Chinese belief, that after visiting such cases, they would normally, prior to this buy flowers e.g. lily and some lime. When they bathe themselves, they would pour the fiower and lime over their heads. After bathing, …

Hi, Please read below:- If it is due to natural causes e.g. old age, this is acceptable. Overall, this is not Feng Shui but based on `rituals' or practises. If one is a Christian, some would invite the Priest to the house and offer some chants; for Catholics i.e. sprinkle " holy water ". If you are doing it yourself, you can mix unpolished rice grains with salt and throw them around the house especially the corners. As I mentioned, this is not Feng Shui. Salt is often used in such occassions. In Chinese studies, usually, well water is not well regarded as it is said that it harbours a well spirit. I can understand why because one must be careful especially if…

Dear Cecil, I just bought a six rod hollow metal windchime and hang it in SE sector. Soon, my neighbour hang one with 5 rod hollow bamboo windchime near my windchime. Since that sector is more windy, we may say there is a windchime war. :) Do you think my neighbour's windchime could be considered a threat to my SE sector? FYI, my windchime produces more loudly sound considering it is about 1 meter length. For that big windchime, I paid $5 (compared to those at FS Emporium sites, it's cheap). Thanks in advance. Regards, Wasis

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Today, there are still some developers who had folded up. This is not just in Malaysia or in Singapore. A few months back, this developer had uncompleted development and it has become a breeding ground for mosqitoes. Therefore, any land, that has both good or bad Feng Shui, can come down with such a situation. Often, it is sheer `bad luck' which is attributed to the most common situation: downturn in business, leading to cash flow problems for such a developer. Why not, if an experienced FS practitioner finds that the land is OK. A towkay (rich man) may eventually, buy over this land. Hopefully, at a much lower price - due to forced sale…

And what you mean stay facing the entrance door? Dear Dawn, In my opinion, there should not be any issue with the keeping of pets. This is particularly good for some, especially who have children who had asked for the pets. House cleaning these pets would (hopefully) inculcate a sense of responsibility. However, many mothers reading this may be shaking their heads. I sympathise with them since, most mothers end up being the "maid". Hopefully, please don't turn into an "OLD-MAID" will do! Frankly, under Feng Shui, there is no issue with pets. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, On the issue of the Grand Duke, there can be controvesy over the definition of how the Grand Duke can be `offended'. Therefore, when answering your question, I used the word `strickly speaking' i.e. where it concerns some advice, it is a must not to offend the Grand Duke. In my opinion, I feel that it is acceptable: 1. When one does a renovation especially take the case; where this is not a new house and we need to renovate the home. When we engage a contractor to do the entire renovation of the home; I feel that this is acceptable. On the `commonsense' approach.. it is not practical to ask the contractor to say do renovation to the home and leave out some part…

Dear Brenda, In my opinion, flower prints including leaves are acceptable on comforters and sheets. In fact, quite alot of bed sheets/spreads do use the flower/leaf theme. Unlike: 1. Actual plants where; when it grows, a more create yang environment. 2. Actual water, creates too yin i.e. fish tank in the bedroom or a picture of a rushing water-fall or `choppy' seas / waterfall. Further to what I had mentioned; in most industries a triage is important. In many instances; I mentioned A & E; where the french word Triage originated. For all modern vehicles; there is an ODB port; often located near to the dasboard. When a vehicles goes for servicing or troubleshooting; don't the Service engineer plug in and connect a laptop; to check for error codes? Without such a Triage how to determine exact problem?

Dear Mark, Under the Flying Star numbers 2 & 3 are not very good. 2 is normally misfortune and sickness. House number is not really widely practice because it is not really an accurate fortune telling tool. The reason some Feng Shui masters take that into account, is more for flats or high rise buildings. They believe that not every level will have the same feng shui even though the building has the same type of design layout for each level. Only under this circumstances will some Feng Shui master apply this theory giving it additional depth in the analysis. (So far from what I tried, it is need true more for high rise then low rise, for low rise it is not very useful…

Further to what I had mentioned earlier, traditional Feng Shui should be: 1. Based on the Five Elements. 2. If it is not based on the Five Elements, at least, it can be related to Yin and Yang concept. (The only exception is the Eight House Theory where it is still based on the Compass School of Feng Shui) 3. Under Symbolism, it is looked at in relation to "holistic" Feng Shui. It cannot be cited all the time. If it is `cited' all the time or used as an `excuse' all the time without at least in some instances related to Para 1 (5 elements) or Para 2 (Yin and Yang) most likely in my opinion, the person is simply practising `Kindergarten Feng Shui'. Usually, if one looks c…

As mentioned, previously in general: Based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, the current bed-head position is still acceptable. Many master bedrooms do have attached bathroom. And many instances where the bed is "beside" the toilet. This is as mentioned, quite common. Again based on Shapes and Forms, there are others who do place the bed at the computer place. Again, still valid.

  25. Dear Ramdev, Firstly, this is a modern commercial invention. However, I personally do not see any harm in hanging it. Usually, (more of a privacy issue); one may hang it inside the door. In general, the significance of three coins is as follows:- 1. the number 3 represents : Wood element 2. 3 coins is made of metal: Metal element Under the destructive cycle of Five Elements Concept: Metal destroys Wood = Wealth. Bell? anyone's guess. Perhaps, to create more metal to destroy wood. Warmest Regards, Cecil
