The believe here is that it may reflect out what was inside the toilet. More commonly, it is ok to place it at the side of the door. E.g. when one enters the toilet, it is on the right or left side. If distinctively, one of the rooms is `meant' to be the master bedroom e.g. bigger with attached bathroom etc... then, based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is preferred that the head of the house (breadwinner) should where possible occupy this room. If there is no distinction between the master bedroom or other bedroom, then, you can sleep in the North-East room.
