Dear Anon, Small plants should generally be treated as part of the interior decor. For larger plants etc... it is good to look at each sector under the Flying star Feng Shui. For example, if the location has say an auspicious #8 either mountain star or water star or both; it is not favourable to place large plants at these sectors. Since wood (imagine it's roots crushing into the earth) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My main door faces NE and it's missing the North Corner. What type of cure can I place to help with this. There are a few solutions for solving a missing corner. 1) For landed property: a) You can extend the roof to cover the missing area so that it no longer becomes a smissing corner from the top view. - Best solution. b) Create landscaping or rock landscape to project the outline of the missing corner to cover it. Or at least have a concere flooring to cover the missing area. 2) For Apartment - Mirrors placed on the wall of themissing corner can help toextend themissing corner. 1. As the saying goes: "location, location, location". 2. Frankly, many of us can only "so called pathe our home with gold" but when we look out of our four walls; we simply cannot change what is out there! Hi Anon, 1. If there is no favourable view, then simple thing like a day curtain or blinds will help to screen it. And as the saying goes if you cannot see it, it is not a threat. 2. Alternatively, check your eight house to see if you can sit facing in particular your prosperity or excellent sector which may not necessary be this current table placement. Hope that helps. Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: What is the best color to paint a home office, where much time is spent, that is located in the SE sector? Since wood is the element for that direction, would green be the best color or blue (wood needs water)? If red is used would that affect finances adversely? Generally, for colour scheme, you need to really check what is the stars available in that sector based on your flying star. You want to avoid colours that will activate bad stars (ie star 2/5 or other bad stars). Thus, the most neutral colour for any sector is always White (Metal). Metal can help to exhaust star bad Earth Star and even Strong Wood Star. Thus, the room should avoid…

Dear Anon, No, one should avoid activating the mountain star at the front or at the main door. The point here to remember that activating a mountain star at the main door, the front or the living room is like `placing' a moutain at our `eyes'. We have to remember that the frontage is best to have clear space or a bird flying freely. The same concept applies in our living room. The mountain star (if there is one) is to activate e.g. inside a wall in a bedroom or at the back door area. The concept of mountain (solid backing) and the water (clear space) in front is what it all means. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Under the Flying Star Theory, one has to look at the top two stars in addition to the base star. One should not look just at the base star in isolation. For example, you mentioned that (2) is at West in the kitchen. Under the Flying Star Theory, one has to look at the relationship between the two stars e.g. mountain and water star and relate this to the base star. If for example one element for the water star is `bad' and it is helped by another element that assists the bad star e.g. water assists wood and in turn there is a sickness star at the base, one has to analyse all three and come up with a solution to balance it. E.g. introducing fire element to co…

Dear Anon, 1. If you are using the Eight House Theory, you should also look at what is the influence in your bedroom. 2. Normally, we look at the Flying Star of the house particulary, the Main entrance door and the second door to see if these are auspicious. For example, if your house is constructed within 1984 to-date, and if there happens to be a Double 7s (this may sound technical) it implies that this door at NW sector is auspicious for the main door. So one should continue to use it. 3. If you do not want to use the Flying Star, then, I still feel that as you mentioned that SE door is not convenient, you should not use this door. For the main door, at NW, you shoul…

Dear Aloysius, 1. Usually, the most common method is that one can still try to activate M8 in this sector. 2. In addition, some practitioners may recommend aconcave bagua mirror. Where it is used to "suck" back the missing corner. Ideally,a neighbour's balcony / living room should not be in very closeproximity when we hang aconcave bagua mirror. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Aloysius Chia wrote: A HDB flat balcony happen to be in a west sector with flying star M8 W6 B9 and under 8 mansion it isin theYan Nian sector. Dear Kaushal, Yes, money plant can cling on walls and can be considered as a `vine' plant. It can equally grow well on a bed of ground. Plants, if they are not left to grow wildly are always considered `acceptable'. But if it were to grow within the house, try not to allow it to grow up the wall. For the external wall, it can still be grown but do not allow it to `over grow' uncontrolled. If one has an area where you want to grow it, in my opinion, this is fine. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anthea, Yes, under the fortune telling analysis, Moles on Face is one form of analysis:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-face.htm In our website, we all along do not emphase on fortune telling portions for even ba zi. This is because, we believe that a lot of such fortune telling if any only create fears for people. And it will create this self-fullfilling concept. Where a person believes so much in the negative prediction, that you actually make it happen. Frankly, any form of even cosmetic surgery (how small), carries a risk of danger. So is it really worth the while to do so? The best way is to try to be in harmony with your envrionment, by kno…

In my opinion, logically, one cannot turn back the clock nor change the house / apartment number. For example, take Para 3. (see below). A common sense approach is "The Concept of Maximizing Marks" And another, is under Para 2. Fix-the-leak, First! TWELVE (12) Key Success Factors in D.I.Y. Feng Shui 1. DearMs. Lee, how are you? I am looking for more information regarding a 49-day wish making method. I had read that one should write his wish down 49 times w/49 signatures during 49 days. At the same time one is supposed to be on lent. Have you heard of this method? Please let me know the details, and also some proper ways of wording such a wish. I realize one should be very careful what they wish for, so I thought I d consult you first. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Ghenrietta

Dear Anon, I cannot blame you for being so confused as to where to hang Christmas lights after reading here and there. This is because, based on what you wrote, all the understanding is not correct. 1. Grand duke theory states that one should not: a. Touch `him' b. Distrub him. I can in general understand one may consider lights `disturbing' him but it should not be the case. 2. 5 Yellow is based on this Year's Flying Star Chart where south = 5 Yellow. Again, this is based on a general assessment that every household must be careful of 5 Yellow. This `theory' is too general to be applied and is not tailored to the individual. I believe, at this point in time since you ar…

Dear Anon, 1. Generally, it is very unusual to find water positions on both side of the door. Thus there can be some truth in what you have mentioned. 2. What I mentioned by some truth is that we can still analyse if we want to the effects by looking at the Flying Star Chart of that sector. 3. Another important clue is: 3.1 That too much water creates a too yin environment. 3.2 Traditional Chinese are not infavour of having too many wells at a home or around it. One is bad enough. Although water is a necessity, one major fear is that someone may fall into etc... Therefore, many traditional Chinese belief in spirits in wells. 3.3 Water position where possible at the fron…

Dear Anon, For kitchen `Feng Shui', there are several `rule-sets' or guidelines: 1. Where possible, the fire stove should face inwards (into the house). This implies that there is `warmth' in the house. 2. Under Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is not as good if the stove face outwards of the house. 3. Where possible, the stove, should be an auspicious sector - for the `women' of the house. But since you are a Male and if you are living alone - it should (preferably) still be located at an auspicious sector. 4. If there is no ventilation hood and if there is a ceiling beam that presses against the stove, this is inauspicious. 5. It is equally inauspicious if an exposed water…

Dear Master Cecil: With respect to this particular problem; i.e. the bathroom is close to the center influence of my home, do you think what I have done has reduced the adverse impact somewhat? By the way, I am in the U.S. and this is a rather new house. Therefore, it is a good looking bathroom with quality fixtures and floor. This bathroom has never been used and I deliberately keep it as presentable as living room. The smell in this bathroom is better than any other room in my house. Of course, I will identify other leakages of my house. I am going to take care of all other possible problems one by one. Do I have to do more with this particular bathroom, such as complet…

Dear Elena, Today, I would view, the flooring with a `different' view. In my opinion, I view flooring in relation to the Yin and Yang rather than the element of a person. 1. Preference would be for lighter coloured tiles than dark coloured tiles. Especially if the house does not get enough lighting. My view has `differed' in this view point that instead of looking at the elements and relating it to the persons, (5 elements), I go one higher to the Yin and Yang. The rationale is that it is more important to keep the house, `bright' especially the living room. For the bedroom paquet or wooden flooring is acceptable, which makes it dark (for some room) but in fac…

Dear Molly, 1. Under the Feng Shui concept `if it no longer can be seen, it no longer becomes a " threat ". This principle can also be applied to the gas cylinder. 2. Usually, it is kept away from the bedrooms either next to it or directly below a bedroom. 3. Generally, it is advised that the cable is not too long or placed too far from the source (if possible). 4. If the tank is `concealed' or placed in a cabinet, then, place it like any other liquid e.g. a water heater in such a location. Thus safety would be a primary concerned when compared to `Feng Shui'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
