Dear Lee Nah, Please see below:- Ideally, the stove should face inwards of the home i.e. the main entrance. Therefore, preferably, the knobs should also face inwards or upwards (neutral position). You have to determine where is the location of the kitchen. If the kitchen is at the North (compass direction), then it would be best for the kitchen to have a door. As North represents water, the kitchen should have sufficient warmth. But if the kitchen is at the South, (fire element) it is not necessary to have a door at this location. In addition, it is still ok for other directions (not to have a door). As mentioned above, for a North (compass direction/point) i.e. …

Dear Tomo, Eight House can be applied no matter how small or large the house is. The only question you will have to ask is it useful to divide the house for any analysis anymore. In this case, the analysis such as finding which sector of the house is good for what is no longer useful. However, the directions where you can place the desk or bed position will still be useful. ie facing North direction is your longevity so this should be where your head is for sleeping. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Angela, 1. The Eight House Theory is useful to find a suitable house or locate a favourable sleeping postition. 2. It is a static theory and usine Gua (Kua) to analyse or trouble-shoot problems is not ideal as it is usually ineffective. Since it does not take into consideration, time dimension in Feng Shui. 3. For purposes of troubleshooting or analysing obstacles, it is very difficult to generalise problems or fix them. For such situations, consult a competent FS practitioner in most instances or apply more advanced Feng Shui methods. 4. At your end, you can do initial check whether your home (may be) under any threat from the external. By standing at the main ent…

Thank you very much Master Cecil for the reply. I just made an error. The septic tank is actually located just beneath the sink only in an east - west (length formation). At least, I think, this is more preferable than being located below the stove area. The septic tank is in the basement and is wrapped by 4 walls made of concrete. Thank you very much.

Dear Anon, I am afraid, in general, Traditional Feng Shui does not look at "wealth corner(s)". Usually, when we talk about "wealth corner", it would imply something that is `fixed' such as based on fixed template. This is considered too general to be of any use for anyone. Therefore, hope u can understand that such things are not discussed here as they are not based on traditional FS. More likely a `gimmick'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Was checking the forum for questions missed or still unanswered and found this message. Here is the reply:- Generally, sometimes there is very little options for placement of such objects. Anyway, feel free to place them where ever you feel it serves you easily. Generally, you should be more concerned if say the bedroom where you sleep is not in your 4 good directions or if you are the breadwinner and that the main door is not in your 4 good directions. Otherwise, on other minor areas such as some object placement, you should be free to be able to decide where you want to place. In terms of the kitchen, if you really want to be Feng Shui friendly. Then make sure you place…

  8. Started by Kitchen,

Dear Anon, In my opinion, usually, suggestion 2 and 3 are a better solution than suggestion 1. This is because actual water is harder to maintain e.g. algae growth and it could be a hive of baterial growth if water is not changed frequently. And furthermore, since the kitchen is a balance of "hot" (fire) and "cold" (water) such a water urn could also create an imbalance at that sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nicole, 1. Kitchen at the south compass direction. If the kitchen is located at the compass direction -> south; this is the location of fire. Given this situation, there is no issue with a stove facing a water position. However, if the kitchen is located at the north, where north is the water sector, than, it would not be advantages, to have a stove facing the water position. 2. Facing direction of the stove Since, the kitchen is suppose to be the "woman's domain". Nowadays, it can also be the "house-man" or house husband. But traditionally, since this is the wife's domain, it is best that the stove faces the direction that is suitable for the wife. 3. Use of Mirr…

Hi, After drawing the bagua of my home, the kitchen is situated at the east and northeast areas, which signifies the wood and earth. The stove and oven will be in the east area of the kitchen facing the toilet door, while the fridge is at the northeast area. Does it make a difference if I put the stove and oven directly opposite the toilet door? As water nurtures wood, cabinets colour can be beige, blue or black. However, as I know, we should not use blue or black in kitchen as it puts out the fire elements( stove and oven). And, I know we should not put the stove and oven at the East area but it is impossible to move it to somewhere else. Which should I follow? Thank…

  13. 1. Frankly, you may have to make do with your kitchen as for an already built up home; it is not so simple to say: lets relocate the kitchen of sorts. 2. These are more resources on the kitchen:-http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Stove_%26_More 3. 15. Hello Everyone, This is my first time posting here, I’d like to seek some any kind advice and guidance from all of you. Me and my wife bought an old apartment unit, and the apt is currently undergoing renovation process. As we started reno works, we discovered that the planned kitchen area sits below a bathroom area of the unit sitting above ours. When I checked the piping, there is a discharge pipe from the unit above right below our planned stove area. We cannot move our kitchen, due to apartment design restrictions, so our kitchen area has to be placed under the same spot. The area around discharge pipe has been having some leakage problems a…

Your kitchen comes under two main sectors North and North-West. Simply, in plain English: which would deem as having the highest influence on that sector; that's all.

  18. 1. Yes, the number of hobs is one consideration. Hops as in the stove burner. And often, the Flying Star chart is looked at to futher fine tune whether the hobs are either even or odd number(s). 2. Traditionally, matt finished stainless steel is OK. 3. One Feng Shui school of thought considers it "inauspicious" to have a highly reflective glass behind the stove. Or a highly polished reflective stainless steel material. As this School felt that a home should not have TWO stoves. And such a reflective mirror symbolises a home having two stoves. Here, the conotation is that the male partner will have to "support" two partners e.g. a wife and a mistress = TWO STOVES. 4. We…

These are some of the considerations: 1. In general; it is best not to use BLUE colour even if it is light blue in a kitchen. This is on the extra-safe-side. While BLACK or grey can be considered as generally - neutral - or OK. 2. Besides the texture or colour of the kitchen laminates; the next largest metal element in a kitchen is actually a refrigerator. As when it is in a closed position; it's external "mass" is one big metal element. Thus frige in white or silver or grey are often a safe-bet.

Master Lee, Since I am very new, I have a very hard time understanding the 4 good and 4 bad locations. I does not make sense to me that according to my eight house chart, my kitchen it should be place on the SE side were is indicated for me a bad location. I was under the impression that the kitchen is one of the most important place for the house and for prosperity. Also, I would like to thank you. I live in Florida, USAwere a severe hurricane just passed called Wilma. I stayed in the center of my home avoiding my death sector and my bad sectors during the storm. I belive that my ancestors watched over my home, 60% of the homes were damaged or destroyed, my house was i…

Please see below:- Yes, you did the right thing. In Feng Shui, it is always best to have the stove face the Fire element direction. Yes, this is not ideal but it is better than having it next to a water element e.g. wash basin or refrigerator. The good news is that since you mentioned that your stove is facing the South, which belongs to the Fire element, it is acceptable to have a water position e.g. refrigerator to be facing the `fire' element ie. the stove to `cool down the Fire' element. Good Luck in your renovations!

Thanks for the layout plans. These are some considerations: 1. Common sense : Ideally, the sewerage pipe(s) does not run directly above a stove. As there is a 1 in a million chance that the sewerage pipe may leak or burst sending "chocolate stuff" downwards. That's all. 2. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, best not to have the WC throne directly above the stove. If this is not the case, then phew! 3. For a bedroom above the kitchen; so long as the bed/bed-head is not directly above a stove; this is a plus point. Otherwise, what you have is acceptable. As frankly, there is often no such thing as a perfect home even if one builds it from scratch.

Hi, No, it is not necessary for the kitchen door to face a window. What is more important considerations are: 1. The water position in relation to the stove and other fire elements. 2. The stove must not be `supported' by a window. 3. Positions like the Kitchen in the South, you can have the Stove face a water element to `cool' down the kitchen. As South = Fire element. Contrast this with having a Kitchen at the North. Here, you must try to `keep warm' the stove and not let it `die out' with a water position opposite it. 4. Avoid having the water pipe "criss-cross" the stove (e.g. in the built in cabinet below it). 5. Avoid a ceiling beam above the stove. The above are im…

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, where the kitchen door face the front door, it is good not to expose cutlery e.g. forks or knifes (if there is a kitchen table top) facing the door. Otherwise, there is not much one can do here. A stove can still face the refrigerator. However, hopefully, this is not the north part of the house or the kitchen is not at the north compass direction. Where, fire element is quite weak. Overall, such a senario you mentioned: cannot be undone unless there is a renovation involved i.e. there is no `magic' involved unless there is physical renovations involved here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
