Dear Reina, Quote: ie period 7 (NW sector has 5-2-5 and yearly 5 will be very bad) ie period 8 (NW sector has 6-6-7 and yearly star 5 not too bad) I don't understand the NW 525 in 7 and 665 in 8. Can you please explain further. Frankly, this is lots of flying star related analysis. I was simply trying create an example to tell you that different period and different flying star numbers in the sector will make the yearly star have different overall influence. 5-2-5 are all three Strong Earth Illness/Misfortune star. With the yearly 5 again nother Strong Earth will make that sector extremely bad. 6-6-7 are Metal related stars. Metal helps to exhaust Earth, thus even if S…

  2. Dear Jack, Feng Shui can help in two situations: 1.Apply the Eight House Theory: Best study directions and Best bed-head directions (for sleep) 2. Yin & Yang; Yang & Yin Many other situations may have to do more with the food you take, your current "stress-levels"; "support-group" etc... 1. Try to generateyour own personal Eight House chart to see where your best work directions are. If possible, but taking into consideration; the bedroom layout plan; you should try to sit facing agood direction for study. It is also nice to have the bed-head facing towards a good direction. But often, like the layout plan that you had sketched out, usually it is much harder …

Dear Anon, 1. Star #2 has the `Earth' element. 2. A solid mass may inadvertently represent the Earth element. It is best to be cautious when activating a mountain star at #2 or #5. It may create an imbalance and activate e.g. the #2 causing sickness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Linda, 1. Firstly, Congratulations! 2. If you are in Singapore, or any in the region, it is common to go to any of the temples to get `blessed'. If you are not sure which temple, you can visit more `netural' temples such as the Goddess of Mercy Temple (Quan Yin) at Waterloo street. 3. Items like Buddhas and other religious objects are not Feng Shui so, I do not subscribe to users buying them for such purposes. As it has more to do with religion. And inviting idols etc.. would imply that one may have to pray to these. So this is up to the individual and their faith. 4. More importantly the main considerations are: (In most traditional practises) a. Choosing an auspic…

Dear Siew Foong, The following need to be considered:- 1. Does the Qi flow from the front e.g. window or main door and exits directly at the back? If so, it would be good to place a partition or screen to manipulate the Qi flow to allow it to meander slowly in the house. The above is one of the considerations for doing `interior' decoration in the home. 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui The following items are looked at:- 2.1 What type of material is one using for the bar counter? Or materials e.g. glass/wine etc... Here, Flyings Star analysis is usually done to check on any imbalances at a sector. For example, if the sector in question is one where we should avoid adding `w…

There are several past resources on this subject. Here is one:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15247&new= Some persons can sleep soundly even with mirrors and reflective glass on wardrobe cabinets. Sometimes it takes just one or two persons such as relatives and friends to comment that it is no good and we may feel uneasy after that. If one is such a person, then, simply avoid having the mirror.

Dear Anon, There is a logical reason why anything higher than a side table is not advisable. This is because if you look at the shelf at the side, the scorner closer to the bed will form a poison arrow which cuts into the bed. Since both side cuts into the bed, it is like an X. Which is bad feng shui. So not recommended. Even if you replaced it with a table, the same effect will be created unless you ensure that where you sit the poison arrow will not cut you. And/or at least if the corners are rounded, then not as bad. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Further to what I had mentioned: 1. The key success factor is always: Location, location, location, location and location. 2. Here, it suggests the "Big picture" more towards Macro Feng Shui i.e. the External environment, the Site, the Building. This is akin to top jobs such as CEO, CFO, Senior Management positions. 3. Often, when we zoom into a unit or apartment; this is like the troops: and can range from the equivalent of middle management positions to clerical. 4. If one has been in the army, the site, building befits positions like Generals, Colonels, Majors. 5. 13. Dear Anon, Thanks for your `sharp eye'. Although 2 of the pictures happen to show 7 circles and dashes, it does not imply that all pictures will have 7 circles and dashes. In fact, as you correctly pointed out that in the North picture, there is only 4 circles and dashes. What is more important in the picture is if one looks carefully the profile of the star constellations or star formation. Furthermore, North, is the fourth block of 7 constellations. Dear Momo, Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Wishing you, and everyone here a Happy New Year! Please see below:- Nowadays, it is much harder to `discern' the type of element related to a career. This is because of the element of `multi-skilling'. It it common nowadays; for one to be `multi-skilled' not only in our job but in a wide spectrum of a job. For example, some of us may be an accountant, while others may be in PR, Marketing or Administration. Common usage of computers and other related equipment is very common. Thus, we are today - more `multi-skilled' than ever. And it thus much harder to define a job or relate it (totally) to one specific element …

Dear Anon, Based on what you had explained, the more common approact is the door which you enter the actual living space and not the door at the ground level before approaching the living space. The rationale is because if one takes the `exterior' door, the compass direction extends outwards and it is hard to pinpoint the main entrance door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sophia, Yes, so far, I have seen many people who had placed a micro-wave next to the refridgerator and even opposite it. If one sees the productive cycle flow of the five elements, metal supports water, this is a productive cycle. Thus no issue. It is not like water destroys fire under the destructive cycle flow. Which is often considered not auspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, If your house is not too big, then, one should not try to divide each room into sectors. But instead, look at the centrepoint of the house. From the centrepoint, you should be able to properly determine where is the North, NE, South etc... of each area. For a start, it is best to understand fundamental Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. As usually, this is one of the key ingredients or one of the key success factors in the Feng Shui of any house. After this, than, you can explore the use of the Eight House etc... There are some resources at: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm And if you are in no hurry, try to understand more, before `jumping the wagon' into Feng …

Dear Darlene, 1. For the Chinese, there is what is known as ancestor worship. Here, a portrait of a loved one or a tablet (representing the loved one) and a incense or joss stick holder is placed on an altar. Usually, many of the houses have space constraints and the altar (ancestor worship) is placed in the living room or dinning room. 2. I believe, your situation is not the same as the above. But rather to keep the portraits. In your case, it is best to keep the portraits on a wall, in a `quiet room' such as the study room. Perhaps, you can also share with us have large are the portraits and if you have any other rooms that you have thought off. Alternatively, in the w…

Dear Anon, 1. Sitting facing one's good direction is considered as "Nice-to-have" and not a "must-have". Thus, as much as we have read that we should sit facing our good direction, but many of us do not have this opportunity to do so. One way is to see if possible all four of you can or some of you can sit to beneifit your good directions. It is good to just convey this to your three other team mates whether, they want to consider this option. (It may or may not necessarily work out for all). 2. From what you had mentioned, you have limited space to work on. Given that there is no option to change; frankly, there is no miracle cure in Feng Shui for this. Especially mos…

  21. Dear Anon, Two meters away from the centrepoint is adequate distance away from the centre. Ideally, the centrepoint should be clear space but from what you had described, since the toilet is not directly located at the centrepoint, this is a plus point. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  22. Started by moon88,

Dear Anon, Yes, there is such a thing as an auspicious or inauspicious direction of travel. This is based on the five elements concept and time dimensions of Feng Shui. For example even the Chinese Luopan can be used to check on this. By reading off the Chinese Luopan, one can check if the direction one should travel is auspicious or inauspicious. There will be a module on this site later this year on this. Please note that we should not go to the extend of looking at travel to mean travelling from home to office or for shopping. Travelling a few kilometres or simply travelling on a road to use such a theory. Travelling on a road, we do not have control over the directi…

Dear Silk, Please see below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: "free-advice Listmanager" To: Sent: Monday, August 14, 2000 7:13 AM Subject: Eight House Query In general, the Eight House Theory looks at: 1. How suitable a person is to the house. 2. Areas where one spent time at should preferably be a good sector for the person. As far as the Eight House theory is concerned, (other than the main entrance door sector which in this case, is not a suitable house for you). You should also look at the intangible force at the bedroom area. Other than the above, it is difficult to neutralise any intangible force based on this theory. In traditional FS, we can use Flyi…

Dear Flemming, 1. It depends. Most and foremost, one has to look at the layout plan of the interior of the house. 2. Often, since the living room and dining room are close or next to each other, the placement of the sofa has to be looked into under the context of the living room vs dining room. 3. Often, it is good to create two symbolic rectangles between the living room and dining room area. 4. Factors like the shape of the living/dinning room should be looked into closely. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, It is said that our luck is made up of three components: 1. Heaven Luck (can be examined by Ba Zi or Eight Characters / Pillars of destiny). 2. Earth Luck (Feng Shui) 3. Human (Man) Luck - (Relations with family ...) What you had mentioned is specific only to Para 1 (Heaven Luck). Traditionally, it is thru the use of colour assocations or best colours. In addition, for a strong water person; Fire is his/her wealth element. Yes, individually, colours can be used. But a metal - water wood combination is not favourable for a strong water person. (Specifically, metal element is not favourable as it helps fuel water element. (If one takes a simplistic view of J…
