Dear Anon, This conversion is necessary only if you have downloaded the free software for your own desktop. The free software can calculate the kua, but I did not include my copyright software into this free software. As it was provided to everyone as I had created the software for fun:) However, if you are referring to the online reports provided by the My FengShui, every report has been automatically converted to Lunar Calendar before any analysis is done. Every Report you generate from our online services, provides one with proper conversion to the Lunar Date of Birth, which is used for all relevant calculations. Warmest Regards Robert Lee On 11/12/99 7:41:33 PM, …

Dear Yang Ming, 1. Try to find out more by: Knowing the purpose of say: 1.1. Gua or Kua element 1.2. Pillars of destiny or 4 pillars. 2. I believe, there are already so many past questions on just this issue. CLUE: What is the lowest common denominator for each? 1. Gua or Kua Takes into consideration? Year of birth only 2. What about Pillars of Destiny? What consideration does it take? Please find out or do a SEARCH into this. The difference of the above has been explained (many times) previously in this forum. It would not be difficult to also try and do a SEARCH and write down what are the strengths and weakness of each of the above. I will be very glad if it is a new …

Like it mentioned, Kua is 4 and the element of the Kua is Wood element. However, since Kua is based only on the YEAR of birth it does not give the most accurate breakdown of your birth element. Just like if one is born in 2006 (Earth Dog), if you based on the ba zi from the YEAR of birth then you are a Earth element. These is correct, but not the most accurate form of your true element. Depending on which day you are born, you can be a weak water/strong fire etc born in the Earth dog year. So that mo…

Dear Romila, There is no easy way to improve relationships, especially for office or in large organisations. This is because, often you do not have the luxuary to be able to have your own personliased space where you can plan where you can sit / face / colour for your area. Often, area is given to you. So you just have to make do with what you can correct and try to be more tolerant to avoid conflicts. In terms of Feng Shui:- 1. Just use the compatibility report in our members area. URL: http://login.geomancy.net Find out what element do you each belong to and what element is common to both persons. Have more of such elements such as the colour for the common areas …

And, realistically, and touch-wood; if everything seems fine; one may even totally forget that Feng Shui existed and lead a wholesome life. 2. good day to you. id like some help on understanding the theory behind the kua number. my question is why is the males number subtracted from 10? and the female number added by 5? i understand that the kua number 5 has no value to it, being used in a reading and that is used to get the female number. what i dont understand is that in numerology 10 is not considered a number as the number 0 is nothing. and when calculating your numbers in numerology the numbers go from 1 to 9. please can you explain how this works? i have been looking all over the internet for the reasoning behind the theory and nothing has come up. i am currently studying feng shui and not knowing how …

Dear Grace, 1. In my book Applied Feng Shui Made Easy, Page 58; I have listed two formulas that are applicable even in 2000 and more. One of the formula (Method 2) is: - Take the year of birth = 00 - Add the last two digits to get a single number = 0 - Add 5 to this single number - Add two digits to a single numer. this wil be your daughter's Gua no. For example: Born in 2000 0 + 0 = 0; 5 + 0 = 5; 0 + 5 = 5. Your daughter's Gua number is = 5. 2. Another easier method is to goto www.geomancy-online.com and generate a Free Gua Report. The Free generated Gua Report available at the above link also confirms that your daughter's Gua no. is 5. " Your Gua (Kua) Number No. 5 Gua…

Dear Julianna, 1. You can generate free reports: "What is my Gua (Kua) number" and also the "Eight House Report" to find out the Gua number for anyone born after 2000. 2. In my book " Applied Feng Shui", there are three methods that gives the same answer to the calculation of Gua before or after 2000. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Zora, Please refer to the resource from one of my very early site:- http://www.lovesigns.net/astrology/ayear/a30-50.htm The rationale has more to do with the YEAR of birth. This is because, those born in January or February are often affected by which year your birth date should belong to. Take your example: In the above resource reference:- Your birthday is said to belongs to "1944" where the lunar new year starts on 25 Jan 1944 and ends at 12 Feb 1945 While "1945" belongs to 13 Feb 1945 to 1 Feb 1946. Thus a person who is born on 28 January 1946 should be treateda as born under 1945. If you use our website, you should be able to cross-check and get the correct inf…

Dear Alice, In my Applied Feng Shui book, I had listed 3 methods of manually calculating the Gua (Kua) numbers. The reason why 5 is treated as 8 and 2 has to do with the rationale that it occupies the centre position which is the earth element. Thus under the Flying Star Feng Shui, this is why we have what is known as the #5 or Yellow earth (centre quadrant). Under the symbolic animal concept this yellow is represented by a Yellow snake. Under the Pa Che Compass School or Eight House or Flying Star Feng Shui:- 1 = Gua 1 (North) 2 = Gua 2 (South-West) 3 = Gua 3 (East) 4 = Gua 4 (South-East) 5 = Center Square (If male then the number = 2) (If female then the number = 8) 5 i…

Please help as the kua numbers are total opposite for the 2 genders of the same date of birth. Thank you To be frankly, such question can be controversial depending on how you look at it. Hi, The Eight House concept is based on year of birth, and the gua direction each have an element, so this concept that your gua is Earth is based on that. Whereas ba zi takes into consideration the day, month, year and time of birth. So this is significantly more accurate. The same can also be said for taking the year of birth of the ba zi element rather than the more accurate day of birth element based on the day itself. ie a year can be say Wood year, so by default a very simple analysis is Wood element, but even in the year there is a Water-Wood person, Earth-Wood person etc. That is why the ba zi true element is always taken as the most accurate form of an element as…

  18. Dear Rasika, 1. It is best to follow the `method' provided (totally) from a source and not mix e.g. what one reads from a book and `mix' the methods used in other book or website. 2. For example, in this website, the method used is to follow step-by-step instructions under: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm or use the free computerised Eight House report. In this website, you get a graphical diagram showing all the eight kua directions and each person's intangible force at e.g. North, South, East, West, NE, NW, SE, SW. Based on this website, you should find the centrepoint of the house and use an ordinary compass. Instructions are at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilco…

  19. Dear Bridget, The two concepts are different:- 1. Flying star is about the luck of the house, where is the wealth stars, where are the inauspicious stars of the house. This analysis tells you whethera sector is good or not or how much luck you can get from the home itself. 2. Eight House on the other hand is about the suitability of the sector, or best direction. A good sector of the home based on the flying star does not mean it will be suitable to you or not. ie say the bedroom has excellent flying star luck, but if the bedroom sector falls in the North and your Eight House tells you this is Death/Disaster sector. No matter how good the stars of the North sector of t…

  20. 1. In general, Flying star is about the "birth-chart" of your home. 2. Like everyone that has a birthday, the home is suppose also to have a birthday. Anonymous wrote: my secodn question is that in 2009 NW is good. But acc to my Kua number it is not a good direction for me. My kitchen is in NW. So what shoudl i do ? do i still need to activitate it or not? 3. For Flying Star(s) if a good sector is good, it depends on whether it is feasible or not to "activate" the good direction as you had mentioned above 2009 NW is good. 4. Thus activating a sector based on Flying star is distinct from your personal Gua (kua number). Anonymous wrote: I am confused about personal gu…

  21. Dear Anon, In my opinion, the key success factors are: 1. Location, Location and Location The three L's are the most important consideration. For most of forum members - this refers to Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 2. Next; are the critical and nice to have: 2.1 Flying Star Feng Shui - It would be nice to have - double (something) at the main entrance. For example under current Flying Star period of 1984 to 2003; it is nice to have doube 7's at the main entrance. 2.2 Where possible, under the Eight House, best not to have death or disaster sectors at the main entrance. It can still be. But often, this is already like a broken arm even before one moves into the home. 2.3 Ba …
