General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Hi Master Cecil I saw the above picture in one your reply. You mentioned that the length is 41cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm or 71cm or 89cm or 107cm or 148cm. Is this the length of the whole altar from one end to another end? If yes, and using 107cm as example, what measurement to use for ancestor table and chinese god? If the measurement is for the ancestor tablet and the chinse god tablet respectively, then can we use a combination of say 41cm for ancestor table and 59.5cm for chinese god? Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Dear Master Lee, We are currently looking at strata terrace (cluster house) where there is entrance from basement where the car will park and ground floor will be the living room, dining room and kitchen. With that, I believe the main door would be the the glass sliding door at the living room facing the outdoor patio. From the patio, we can see there is an entrance roof to the other development which looks like poison arrow. Seeking your opinion if this is harmful. We are keen with the unit and wanted to see if there is any remedy to this. Many thanks.

  3. Dear Master Lee, I am bowed down with these worries: 1. My bedroom door faces the windows 2. The staircase lead directly to the side of the altar. I was told both cases create bad feng shui. Please advise to resolve them. Thanks.

Dear Master, I read of the importance of having square or rectangular bedrooms to provide stability and good "Qi" movements. As I am planning to do some renovation works, I am exploring the option to build a partition and 'create' a more separate rectangular bedroom for my sleeping area. However, I am concerned about ventilation and mobility issues if I were to seal up part of my room. Furthermore, Feng Shui is also about functionality and I was wondering if there are other ways to circumvent the problem of the irregular shape of my bedroom. I do have an attached toilet and a small path leading into the room. For easy reference, I have attached a rough sketch of my p…

Hi Master Lee, My bed is currently against the wall due to the rectangular shape of my room and I understand that it is not ideal as energy flows from one side only and it may impact opportunities of finding a partner as well. I am thinking of rearranging my bed and study/work desk as per the image below. However, the “beam” will be above my bed and study/work desk if I shift to the below layout. Would you recommend I stick to the current layout or shift to the potential layout? Thank you!

Hello Master, I'm looking to purchase a new home and came across this property and wanted some advice on if this will be an auspicious home to buy? I have asked several people with conflicting advice. Some say the water in the back of the home is not good Feng Shui but I've also read that if there's a water view in front, this could be consider the frontage? There are mountains on both side in the distance and the ocean is about 5 mins away driving. The river in the back/front of the home actually flows into the ocean. If I bought and remodel this house for period 9, should I have the auspicious double 9 facing the river or the other way around? It is the home…

Hello! i came across this forum and the advise given here is really practical and interesting. I’ve been looking all over the internet for this problem which I might potentially encounter- three doors facing each other- and I’ve only come across one post that addresses it. Imagine this: 2 bedroom doors facing each other (master and common bedroom) and in between them is a common bathroom. I’ve attached a picture of something that represents this. And all these rooms lead out to an opening that leads to the living area. I understand that 2 doors, especially of bedrooms, facing each other is bad and may lead to arguments. I read somewhere that 3 doors forming…

  15. Dear Sir, Could you pls advise? I live in England and am looking for a house. On this road, most of the houses have this common feature: The main door is located at the side, and it faces the neighbour's door. Pls find the images. Is it alright to buy such a house, or should I stop looking at such properties? Thank you for your kindness.

I've read a lot about it is preferable to have a regular square of rectangular lot. I have not found very much source on larger plots of land though. My question is if my house is on a large irregular(not of any shape) lot (~20 acres) and much of it is not used as you can imagine. Does this affect the energy of my home negatively? Is there a way I can demarcate it so that it seems like the house is one a regular size lot?

Dear Master Lee, Could you advise if a house situated on a gentle 'V' shape road is fine? Some say it is best to be on a flat road. Is it fine for a house (not the last unit) to be situated along a dead end?

  20. Dear Master, First of all, I’d like to express my gratitude for your work and sorry in advance for the long post. my birthday is 12/31/1985 and my husband’s is 07/26/1985. My husband works extremely hard (harder than anyone I know) and is quite smart but luck isn’t on his side. I’ve always been interested in Feng Shui so I tried researching online and reading, though I still feel very new to it as it’s a complicated subject only an expert as you could give a solid answer. 1/ I came across a test online and it’s analysis said my bazi is n…

  25. Started by cell,

Hello Master Lee. While shopping for bed frames I noticed that many designs have a gap or open space where the mattress goes under the headboard. Headboards that completely block the mattress from the wall are actually very rare. I included an example picture below to show what I mean. My guess is that this a very minor or non-issue since the mattress would cover the gap completely, so the headboard is not visibly "open." Am I thinking about this correctly?
