Dear Utpal, 1. Although, red can be associated with the `fire' element, this is only one perspective or point of view. 2. Far from this single view or vocab that red = fire; red alternatively also represents auspiciousness for the Chinese. 3. Understanding the Five Elements Concept:- 3.1 Besides what I mentioned under Para 2, everything that is tied in red, therefore is symbolic of `auspiciousness'. 3.2 The Six coins cure and the red string or ribbon: For the six coins cure: Six represents `big metal'. The square hole at the centre of this six coins represents `earth' element. Earth element helps to strengthen metal element. Since the arrangement of six coins represent …

  2. Dear Anon, 1. Currently, there are many factors that can attribute to the situation you face. 2. At the preliminary (without using proper Feng Shui tools for analysis), the two trees do not seem (in my opinion to be large ones) as you had mentioned that it is lower than your window. 3. More investigative work can be done. But generally, too many trees e.g. the two trees even though they may not be that large may in certain circumstances create a too yin situation. And based on time dimensions in Feng Shui, at certain timing, the location may become too yin and thus create such an imbalance. 4. Try, for the moment, not to take too drastic a step such as chopping the tree d…

Please see below:- 1. Once a Flying 1. The Flying Star chart is valid (can be applied to this particular home only). 2. If you do not make any major renovations; this same Flying Star Chart is still applicable after the year 2003 e.g. year 2030 etc... 3. Once you do a major renovation: For example in the year 2005; you did a major renovation, then the house comes under the ' Flying Star " of the Period 8. (Currently 1984 to 2003 comes under Period 7), where if you notice the flying star chart, 7 is in the centre. 2. No you cannot use the same chart to assess your office environment unless the main entrance door is EXACTLY the same location as your existing h…

Dear H Kt, 1. Thank you for sharing with us the confusion that arises with wind chimes. Plus the various types of wind chimes. 2. Furthermore, there are so many books written on how `effective' it can be used to enhance our lifes. 3. Generally, in life, we should not have any taboos i.e. if we happen to see something we really like go ahead and get it. However, the `confusion' arise usually, when we INTEND to purchase e.g. the wind chime for the sake of improving our luck etc... 4. Here, more often, we may want to purchase more than 1 wind chime or on the advise of some Feng Shui practitioners, place wind chimes at several locations. In my opinion, I have encountered many…

Thanks for your help! Generally for air-conditioner placement. You should avoid if possible to have the air-con located above the toilet door or directly above your bed. These are two not so good placements. The other aspect is to ensure that air-con does not blow directly into your face when you sleep. This may cause you to wake up the next day and catch cold. If you do have such a placement, then adjust the air con flap to blow down, so that it does not blow at an angle tow…

We are planning to purchase a brand new apartment, the building is still under construction. I have already tried all kind of compasses, including luopan, but have got all different results; it looks like like the compasses go crazy. Just for a record, I'm not a novice to using a compass. Mind you, most of the compass readings show NW more or less, but very inconsistent): sometimes it's NW1 (pearl string in period 8), then it's either NW2 or NW3. What's going on, please? What would be your advice in this case, please?

  10. 1. From my perspective, I have encountered numerous individuals who have opted for resale condominiums. Nevertheless, the majority of these units are fitted with either new or reasonably well-maintained stoves. Many people deem it unnecessary to replace such appliances. 2. This tendency is a fundamental aspect of human nature. When we receive feedback, particularly from our parents, we often engage in deep reflection regarding our actions. 3. Frequently, it requires someone close to us to provide critical feedback in order to stir feelings of guilt within ourselves. 4. 11. For the new year I have earth star eight in my northeast living room. My base star is 9, the mountain star is 7 but the water star is two. What enhancements can I use for 8 that will also negate the bad influence of the 2? Would judicious use of fire elements drown out the two?

  12. In my opinion, it is better to activate a water position at the frontage of the apartment; Since there is already a large body of moving water in your apartment; actually, whether water flowing left to right or right to left have a bearing to the apartment. Plus whether it is flowing parallel to the home (apartment block) or "slicing" it also matters. If the water flow is correct, (this needs some investigation) then an additional water feature at your water #1 star location may not be necessary. Thus it depends. activating a water feature at the central palace depends also. As sometimes a water position at the central palace is akin to the iching concept of water = d…

  13. Started by hogshu,

Dear Jojo, Grateful if you can elaborate further what you mean by wealth stars. This is because traditional Feng Shui do have the mountain and water stars. Mountain star can be activated to improve luck. I can recall many incidents where if the mountain star is activated correctly, can increase the luck element. This site does not discuss on `fixed templates' such as Black Tantric Buddhist or Black Hat Sect or BTB for short. This form of Feng Shui is not recognised by all Traditional FS practioners. The Eight Associations and Eight Aspirations/Life Associations e.g. SW = Romance corner, and North = Career sector; although is an interpetation of each of the 8 Guas or Trig…

Dear Master Lee: Thank you for your previous response. If I cannot activate a mountain star in a sum-of-ten house because of the window, will that diminish the good effect of the sum of ten in that location? Thank you very much for your advice, Pam

  15. Started by myfs_96300,

Dear Anon, Yes, what I mentioned in the Applied Feng Shui course is primarily based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Since (OFTEN) locations that we can place a water position even under Flying Star Feng Shui have to meet the criteria that there is sufficient clear-space to allow for a water position. This is why, in some homes, even if the water wealth position such as double 8's under Period 8, can still be at the "sitting" position e.g. the back of the house. And if the back of the house is the lounge or family room or patio, then, this is a favourable location to activate water wealth position. If the pictures are simply "decorations", then since NW has the water wealth…

Dear Cah, 1. The main concern here is that #9 is a fire element. Or some call it the purple star. Where purple is also the colour of fire element. 2. In many previous messages regarding Flying Star; especially taking into consideration the 20 Year Flying star : where there are three variables: Mountain# ; Water# and Base# 2.1 Again, we must look at all these three variables in order to see whether #9 as a Water star "can be enhanced or not". 2.2 Under Period 8, even for comparing just the Mountain# with Water#; there are lots of instances where there are MS#5 with WS#9 and worse many sectors have Base#2 or #5. In this case, unfortunately, insteadof enhancing #9.. one …

Dear Liz, 1. As mountain star suggest, if you own a home that has a few levels, the mountain star should be activated at the ground level of the house rather than at any upper floors. 2. It should not be activated at the ground level and again at the upper levels. 3. To properly activate a mountain star it should preferablly be at the back of the house or at the backdoor area. 3.1 Imagine that the mountain should be protecting the back of the house. 3.2 One should imagine that the frontage or passage ways should always be of clear space. 3.3 If one wants to activate the mountain star, it can still be done, provided it is available and at the wall that does not have a wind…

  18. Started by myfs_94367,

Dear Ann, No. Should concentrate on the MS# with WS#. For example under Period 8, all centre palace has base = #8. But when determing the characteristics of the centre palace, often MS# with WS# are taken into account. Normally, the base = #8 remains "silent". Warmest Regards, Cecil

  19. Started by myfs_102989,

Dear Anon, When there is a double 8, often, the idea here is that "clear space" reigns over having a "mountain" at this location. This is why, often, it is best for the living room or frontage - be in this double 8 area. Depending on your layout of your home, between a storeroom or an open area, double 8's are better located with "clear - space". Given this, if it is possible to have a back door leading to clear space, than, your proposal to have a backdooris a possibility. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  21. Started by myfs_98354,

How exciting to find my house has improved under Period 8! Unfortunately, however, W is the sector to activate a Mountain Star. West is in a bedroom, but our house is set on a NE/SW axis, so actual West is in the corner. Is it possible in any way to activate the Mountain Star if I can't hang a picture in the corner, or place an object of mass there? See attached photo - a closet takes up most of the SW wall. Thanks. Regina Cohn

  22. Started by myfs_99597,

Hi Anon, If you have some rock garden landscaping, you can still benefit from activating the mountain star. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

  23. Started by myfs_97150,

Dear Anooja, For both mountain and water star, one has to look carefully at the sector to see if it can be activated. For MS8, if it is at the north and if there is a wall behind it (not an open window), than the mountain star can be activated here. As opposed to the west. Since you had mentioned that west has a ws8. And ws8, goes with a water position not a mountain position. For example:- MS = 8 This is the current period - mountain star location. In your case, it is at North WS=8 In your case is at West. Or this is the water wealth location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Davis, You can activate the mountain star which is in the room and it should be activated at the direction of the of NE. You can place a paper weight or hang a large painting if it happens to be a wall.
