Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Started by myfs_51286,

Dear Lee, 1. In Feng Shui, if one has an `L-shaped' living room or living cum dining room; one should take advantage of (top-down view) of "two rectangular" shaped areas. Imagine here that a partition on one side of the wall with walking space - will imply two rectangle areas. This is the best configuration for an `L-shaped' room/area. 2. If you have a sketch of your existing `L-shaped' layout and/or a proposed sketch; feel free to upload it as a message (Attachment file) for me to make my comments. Otherwise, you may explain further or describe further (Forgive me -- hopefully, I can understand and comment somewhat on it) for you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Will you advise us to give up the toilets and make everything rectangular? Actually, there are public toilets in the building but it is kind of far. The layout 2 will be much cleaner and better in the long run. So that would be most recommended if possible. Anonymous wrote: Else, how could we cure the bad fengshui usually associated with L-shaped or cleaver design? It is really hard to cure such L-shaped type of layout. So if you can avoid it. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Frankly, what is there to have "bad" Feng Shui if your neighbours are still staying at the top floor corner of a townhouse. It is unlike having a toilet above things like the dining table or living room i.e. we are talking about human beings. Anonymous wrote: I have an L-shaped townhouse meaning that I owned a ground floor and first floor townhouse which was converted to a double-storey house plus my neighbour's ground floor corner townhouse which I have bought. Is it okin terms of good fengshui when there are other neighbours still staying at the top floor corner townhouse?

Dear Anon, Frankly, firstly, it is difficult to comment based only on a simple description. From what I can understand, it is quite common to have a situation such as yours. And one should not automatically have a pre-mature conclusion that what you are facing is "bad". If you are very very concerned, and may not have the expertise, then see if you can employ a competent FS practitioner to review your home Feng Shui. In Feng Shui, the way each home "interacts" with each other can have or may not have an influence on your existing home. In addition, Compass School Feng Shui (Flying Star and Eight House) should be applied to give a bigger picture of the entire situatio…

Ihave a problem to determine if the lake is considered to be behind or at the front of my terrace house. My main entrance faces my car porch and opposite are other terrace houses. There is only a small window on this side apart from the main door. Upon entering the main door is the kitchen + toilet + maid room, followed by dining hall and then living hall. My living room has large glass window and sliding door and it overlooks a 20ft garden and about 5ft below the garden is a jogging track as well as open space of about 33ft followed by a hugh lake. If the main door is considered as the front of the house, then the lake is at the back which is bad feng shui. However i…

  7. Master Lee, Thanks for your answer on my previous question house confusion. I would like to have your advise for the following: I am in the process of buying a land as well for my home. Dear Cecil, Thank for your reply. Lakeholmz will be TOP by month of June. Recently, I just found out that based on 4 best direction and 4 bad direction on the unit we bought is totally opposite. The living hall is fallbetween Irritation and Death Arrea. The bedroom is fall between Death and Dissaster arrea. The only thingscorrects is the main door. Is there any way to solve it. Thank you Chong Wee Wei

Hi Cecil Recently read your comments that Lakeholmz Block 90 Units 21 and 22 are the best. If I'm not wrong, this block is East-West facing. How about Blocks 86 and 88? Are they good? Are they NW-SE facing?

Dear Masters As indicated by Master Cecil some time ago, the units #20 and 21 of Block 90 are the best units in Lakeholmz. I noticed that these units are actually east-west facing where the living room windows face east and the afternoon sun is directly at the main entrance. Does this then affect the feng shui of these flats?

Dear Wee Wei, Centrepoint Developement's Cote D'azur is just TOP, also. In all condo developments, there are always good Feng Shui units and not so favourable ones... For Lakeholmz, it was quite active last week with 4 units sold. In all developments, it is always the "first-mover" advantage that is the best! (book first! -- during early launch) to get choice units. Since the MRT track runs parallel to Lakeholmz, units next to it would have "penetrating" (irritating) sound throughout the operating hours of it. In addition, try to avoid units that have walls that soak directly the afternoon sun. Frankly, sometimes if we realise, an entire block /unit is often left u…

Edited by Robert: I think in such cases you should either get a professional analysis such as a Can or Cannot But review, rather than posting in forum for advise. Cecil is currently very busy as such he hasn't had time to review most of the postings in the forum. Furthermore, each home is unique as such it can be difficult to advise you accurately whether a unit is good or not unless you check whether it suits you or whether it until an analysisis done. I'm worried. Could you advise if Lakeholmz Block 90 Units 20? In fact, we intend to get the lower floor units. The pool faces us as a portrait.

You wrote: 1) May I know any particular colour of the shade or pattern of the shade? 1. If one further applies Flying Star Feng Shui, then plot a flying star chart. In the sample attachment, each bedroom's best colours are mentioned. Then if you want to apply them then use the best colours associated with that room. 2) If to put side table and lamp beside the bed, must it be two table and lamp on each side of the bed. If due to space constraint and put just one table and lamp on one of the side , is it ok? 2. Please apply Commonsense, here. Dear Sunny, Please see below:- Based on your description, it looks like a poison arrow ie. especially if it slices through the main entrance door. I posted a message: What is the `Triangle Effect?' under the conference: Photo Tours of Interest. For you to have a better understanding of the situation. This should not be an issue in the living room. Normally, it should be placed closer to one side of the wall rather than placed in the centre of the living room. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  16. Started by angieal,

Dear Angie, 1. For the front door (main entrance); if a lamp post looks like `slicing' thru it, then this is a `sha qi' or poison arrow. 2. One can apply the `triangle effect' by placing two plants on both sides of the main entrance. By doing so, symbolically the two plants with the lamp post forms a `triangle'. With the point (lamp post) pointed towards the neighbour's home. 3. Another option is to place a semi-cicular rug outside the main entrance (radiating outwards). Preferably the carpet should be red. As red represents the fire element and will help destroy or neutralise a METAL lamp post. Please note that if the lamp post is made of a wooden post (WOOD) element the…

Thanks for the photo It is good that you had taken a correct photo: and this photo is very clear-cut. The good news is: no threat to any home. The position of the lamp post is Feng Shui friendly. And the electric box is kinda of "pussy kitten". Totally no threat at all to either of the home. Frankly, all homes will have an such a ELCB box. And it is about the flow of electricity and some magnetism. Frankly, in the US, the voltage is only 110v .While those in the UK or former British Commonwealth uses 220 to 240 volts. If one were to be fried by the voltage, we in the commonwealth e.g. Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia will be the first to be so. Therefore US, 110 v is consi…

These are some considerations:- 1. From your sketch; the lamp post does not seem to slice thru your main gate. 2. In such a situation, the sha qi from the lamp post is not a threat to your main gate area even if it is a sliding type. 3. Since it is not a threat to the main gate; from a Feng Shui point of view; there is no need to replace or update your main gate; other than for asthethic or cosmetic reasons.

  19. Further to what I had mentioned; this is another link to another "type" of ba gua mirror. URL: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=25888&new= Apparently, this version is the latest version that has both the conVEX mirror and the ba gua trigram together. As mentioned, your purpose is to "deflect" or neutralise the sha qi from the street lamp. And it is not compulsory to add the ba gua trigram. As the main purpose of the ba gua trigram is to or suppose to "scare away evil spirits". That's all.

    1. Generally, the plot of land is still acceptable under Shapes & Forms Feng Shui especially since the sides of the plot is parallel with each other. 2. Of course other plots especially to the left two plots are broader. However seems acceptable. This reminds me of Vietnamese homes where homes were taxed based on the frontage. Thus Vietnamese homes became one long narrow home. Of course this plot should be much larger then them. 3. Based on 20 Year Period 8, the plot you are looking at should be North West facing and should take advantage of the facing stars otherwise other stars are not so good.

  22. Started by GoldenDragon,

Dear Anon, 1. Thanks for your sketch of your plot of land. 2. Overall, your plot is not a `worst case' senario. Frankly, it is quite common to find such a layout plan. And in many situations, there should not be an issue here. Provided, here is no canal or large drain at the back of the house. Planting trees behind the house is a consideration. 3. Another approach done is shown in a rough sketch - attached to this message. It shows a semi-circular profile radiating outwards of the house. 4. First of all, this may not be applicable to most houses as it implies e.g. planting trees in a semi-arch along the `yellow' boundary of the house. Impratical as it may sound (because…

  23. Started by myfs_76963,

Dear Anon, Frankly, there are quite alot of variations of land forms. And often it is best to use the term "it depends" as often no two situations are unique. This is because, often, in a forum such as this, if I describe a specific land form, and to say that it is inauspcious may not be correct. As some users here, may feel that what was described does not match the current situation. More importantly, much of what you have mentioned has more to do with commonsense approach:- 1. The major clue is the foundation of the site or area. Often, if the entire foundation of the site ie. your plot of land, your neighbourshave a solid foundation, even if there is a slope be…

Cecil's Attached Note: Yew-Meng, appreciate if you can attach the picture again as it did not show up in this message. Thanks, Cecil Hello Cecil, Further to our conversation, I have attached a copy of the land site that I was speaking about. The meandering black line is the river and where a man stands, is the site that I was speaking about. I hope the map of the river would give you a better picture of what we were talking about. Many thanks. Regards, Yew-Meng.
