    1. Please use this link (report link) to generate a report to check which is your favourable sitting position/direction for work:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-workposition.htm 2. However, please note that the above sitting / facing direction for work is contingent on things like the layout plan of the room and/or some of us simply cannot change out sitting positions. 3. Thus, it is considered as "NICE-TO-HAVE" and not a "MUST-HAVE".

  2. Started by sufun,

Dear Su Fun, Please see below: Since you are a SW house person, NW is your Longevity sector. Overall, the Eight House Theory is more to look at how suitable e.g. the breadwinner is to the house. In this case, you are considered suitable to the house. Under the Eight House Theory, what is equally important is what is the intangible force for each of you in your bedroom. I am not sure why you want to change your main door. Other than the above, the Eight House cannot tell you much about the birth chart of the house. If you want to consider just the Eight House then it is `fine'. The other theory called the Flying Star is used to find out the birth chart of the hous…

  5. Started by wasis,

Dear Wasis, In such a situation, frankly, the essence here is that the bed should not be on the same wall and particularly, the `waste pipe' should not criss-cross or next to the bed. The only option is to leave a gap between the bed and this wall. This is perhaps the `lesser of the two evils'. Where it is not ideal for the bed to be away from the wall but this is much better considering the above. Warmest Regards, Cecil Regards, Wasis

    1. If you are a west person, when sleeping, general, head should be pointed: West, NW, NE or SW. 2. For study, please note your FACE, should face your best direction, which is e.g. NE. 3. Thus one should be aware that both are TWO different activities. For example try sleeping to study. But, unfortunately it cannot be said that someone may fall asleep while they study. For such a person, I feel that even if they face their good direction, is but a waste of time.

    1. Please re-read my previous reply. 2. If you are DIY Feng Shui, then, try to see if you can apply Flying Star Feng Shui. As Flying Star Feng Shui maps out the "birth-chart" of a home. And things like water star #8 is a good location to place a water feature (distinct from whether you are a weak fire or not). If your water position is placed on a water wealth location, then it is fine. (A water position may also be placed at a water star #1, location) 3. In general, from now to 2023, avery good location to activate water position MAY be the South-West sector. Which is in general, known as the "water-wealth-spirit" location of a home. 4. Under Flying Star, what could b…

    1. It depends on what type of "beam" you are referring to. 2. For example, if the "beam" is actually a decorative feature such as a gypsum board ceiling light box "beam" where say the halogen light is mounted in it. And below the bed, it looks like a beam. Then actually this is more of a "cosmetic" than a real beam. Not a major issue in Feng Shui. - Only visually not-appealing. 3. Slanted ceilings are acceptable. Unless it is a full concrete beam. Wooden pillar supports are equally less of an issue. 4. A Chandelier is equally a non issue since it is made up of a string or many strings of glass pieces (diamond look-alike) or crystal glass pieces. In fact, it is equally …

Locally, it is a tradition, for some to even buy an altar (if the home does not have one) or not necessarily an altar but a specific table to place one' loved one (urn). And where possible:- 1. This should not be placed on the opposite wall of a toilet 2. If possible, the table (or generally we call it the altar table) should not be facing into a bedroom. Otherwise, a good location is around the living room / family room area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  16. 1. Some use ba zi to check whether a period is good for them i.e. financial gain or loss or be careful of purchasing of a home. 2. Others look at auspicious dates for negotiations. 3. There are others that feel that the Feng Shui is good before buying a home. 4. Many of us have our motive for purchasing a home and other factors include ability to obtain loan, bank evaluation of the home etc.... Overall, discuss with your immediate family and always bring along the whole family to view a home.

Dear Jack, Alterating the door would in my opinion, alter the birth chart of the house under the Flying Star Theory. It is always prudent to check what is `in store' of the house with the new birth chart - the new birth chart is based on Flying Star Theory / numerology. Thus, one should look at the new Flying Star Chart based on the `new' entrance direction of 150 degrees. Is this new chart better than the existing chart based on the present main door entrance? If so, it may be better since it is away from poison arrows aimed at the present main entrance'. Please note that pictures of semi-circular steps are meant to neutralise `Sha Qi' such as poision arrows facing the …

  18. Started by Chnoa,

Dear Brenda, Yes, a small decorative screen next to the toilet so long as it is sufficent to block the view of the toilet and not the whole bathroom would suffice i.e. OK. For a mirror facing the front door normally this would not be advisable as it would reflect Qi or disperse Qi and may not be that advisable. It also depends on other factors i.e. distance to the door etc... If a mirror has to be used, a sloping mirror (similiar to those found at some shop shops for customers to view a pair of shoes) i.e. sloping would be an alternative where it is not perpenticular to the door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Does these problems signify bad feng shui ? My neighbour does not encounter much problem with his new house. Does this mean his house is of better feng shui? To be frank, these problems are quite common and all really depends a lot on the quality of the developer of the house. I won't probably push all the problem to the fact that the house has lousy feng shui. Usually if the feng shui is really bad, then there will be other problems such as illness or constant string of other non house related issues etc. If there …

Dear Andy, In the past, no one has ever heard of such a thing or even products using the Feng Shui name. For example, nowadays, many are ripping off others by using terms like "Feng Shui jewelery". It's the blackhole effect. What happens is that if we purchase such products, our pocket(s) will have a huge deep dark hole. And mostly, the seller benefits from this sale! For many Chinese, let's imagine or go back to our grand-parent's time or for many, our parents home. There are no such things prior to 1970's as Feng Shui crystals nor is it common place to find three-legged toads. In the past, it is widely common to find more popular stones such as jade and diamonds. But…

Dear Aimie, Proper Pillars of Destiny to obtain a person's true element i.e. weak or strong, takes much effort to calculate manually. As mentioned, in earlier postings, time is precious and I concentrate only on helping users to further interpret reports, if necessary available at www.geomancy-online.com Thus, I hope you understand, imagine if I were to do manual calculations, it may take up to two or three days just for one person. Life is short and I feel available time should be used wisely instead. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Aj, Usually, poison arrows such as the corner of a table is considered more `important' consideration - to avoid. For bookshelves with books, this can be quite subjective as some of us may not feel the impact. However, if one is concerned with it, one could try to use doors on the bookshelf or covered with cloth (not sure how practical this is). I believe that as you had mentioned that it is above the bed, this should not be an issue as it is not aimed directly at any part of the body.. (on the bed). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Santosh, In my opinion, and the many audits done locally, the placement of shoe rack is only of secondary importance or really not a major issue for most of us. Although, some FS practitioners may feel that there is lots of `hipe' in wanting less clutter or felt that `bad qi' if one places shoes/sandals or shoe rack at the front main door. In Feng Shui audits mainly by professionals, assessment is usually based on using the Compass School and particuarly the Shapes and Form of the site and the home. Which is considered the `bigger' picture. Already, within these two schools of FS, there are really so much assessment to be made here. For the garbage bin, especially fo…

Dear Anon, Quote: hi, i am currently searching for a suitable location for my outdoor wedding photo-shooting, could you advise me on whether which part of Singapore or place is the most auspicious one. Is there any things to avoid of? thank in advance. I personally, don't think you should worry about whether the location for your shoot is auspicious or not. As the location auspicious or not isn't going to affect your wedding. Probably finding a nice environment or scenery would be more important so that you have nice memory of the shot as a memory. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
