We are on the process of purchasing a block of land. I’m just wondering if this shape is a good shape? Thank you.

  3. Dear Subhas, In my opinion: 1. Although the plot of land is wide at the front and narrows to the back, check that the house does not have an odd shape. Preferably the house should be rectangular in shape. The rest could be the garden area. And proper landscaping can help to reduce the profile of the wide (front) and narrow back. 2. It would not be auspicious if the house where it sits on the land is downward sloping. The entire house should be on level ground. However, the back can be downward sloping. Where possible, proper drainage and if the house is on a hill, it depends on the construction or proper construction such as sinking of the piles and steps taken to preven…

Dear Kamariah, Since you are in Malaysia, it is easier for you to find a Feng Shui consultant as I believe there are quite alot in the country. Here, you can get the consultant to provide you a package fee i.e. from helping you to select a plot of land and to do a full Feng Shui audit on the selected unit. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  5. I am considering this empty lot. The house-to-be will face SW, so the creek is right behind, connecting to a lake (Please see the picture creeklake.png). The main yellow shape indicate a potential house. The blue curvy line about 100 feet behind the house is the creek, and the lake between 300-400 feet away. The small yellow shape is a potential hobby house. The topography suggests that land is slightly higher at the front (SW) and slightly sloping towards the back. And the right side of the house is slightly higher than the left. First question: is this a good land to build a house? I am teaching at home, so I would like to use a sector towards the back of t…

  6. Hi Master, I am helping my buyer to source for a landed house with his ideal land form of FS, he listed the main criteria that must have LDRT (left dragon white tiger 左青龙右白虎,前朱雀后玄武)Where the the dragon must be higher than the tiger, and there must be a ming tang 明堂 in front and kao shan 靠山 at the back. I would like to know: 1. Must it be a slope/ hilly road? must it be the ground that is higher or it can be a taller building at the left hand side also count? 2. when it comes to bright hall (朱雀),can it be the foyer in front of the main door or must be the land opposite the house? Can ming tang be man-made? Creating a garden in front with water founta…

Dear Sybil, More importantly is the main entrance door. This door should (MUST) open inwards. On the practical side, there is frankly no issue with front gate opening out. This is often because of the constraint of limited interior space to open inwards: as it `hit' a parked car. Here, also many auto-gate opening devices are fitted to swing outwards - as this is most practical solution as mentioned above. We can say: It is nice to have it open inwards - provided it is practical. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  8. Thank you for your reply. I was aware of Trinity of Luck in relevance to my situation but it was nice to know you share the same opinion on that.I do my best to have human luck and beleive one can even change a heaven luck(butthat is a different topic). I also don't like to sit and think some things are out of my control. You can get anything under your control if you try hard. The harder you try the luckier you get. I do beleive that even in my situation there are some remedies that could approve the four animals theory of my house. I just don't like the remedies offered in books, like hanging a Bakua mirror and hurt my neighbor while having a good time myself. I have …

  9. Hi, Master, I have learned that in Feng Shui theory Natural/external environment is the priority. We go from big to small, and from permeant to temporary. However, I am not sure how to balance between the practicality and the theory. For example, there is a 20-mile-long (measure from it's SW end to NE end) lake sitting the north of the town I am looking for a house to purchase now (please see the picture, the town is marked in red dot). OK, in theory, I should choose a house that faces N, NE, or NW, because water should be in the front of the house. The S of the lake is around 4-5 miles from the town I will be living in. However, putting flying star perio…

Dear Pat, 1. First, try to determine what are you trying to access? 2. Is it the interior of the home or simply the land? 3. To do either one, please check out this link, first:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm 4. Based on your feedback, a major renovation has been done somewhere around 1980's. Since you have the loan documents, try to determine exactly the date. If the renovations was completed prior to 1984 (lunar calendar) than you should use Period 6 to assess the interior of your home i.e. checking out the Flying Star numbers in each sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Diana, In my opinion, there is no evidence or detailed studies done on the situation faced by you. Although, it is not good to have such a hole especially if it collects stagnant water (for a few days). As mentioned, frankly, there is not much documented cases of bad feng shui relating to your situation. If one's current situation is not that good and in the immediate future, you do not intend to build a pool, it is best to see if it can be leveled. This is part of the process of trying to fix `leaks' if you have already done all you can within the home premises. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Usually, the origin of the "white elephant" comes from Thailand instead of China. 2. In the past, elephants were revered especially in the north. And elephants represents strength and good fortune in China. Chinese figurines often have children or a child riding on it to symbolise "fertility" and "wealth". 3. In my opinion, the white elephant has more to do with Thailand. As White elephants are rare and the King of Thailand, is the only one that keeps or considers white elephants as sacred and thought to bring good fortune. Thus anyone in Thailand that can "supply" a genuine White elephant to the King (Thai King) will be well rewarded! 4. In Thailand, the King has a…

Dear Seema, In my opinion, this area has to do with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. It is said that Feng Shui has an influence on a specific area of our `luck'. There is more towards, Earth Luck. `Luck' is diverse and it is said that there are many types of luck. A `genuine' gift can be considered a positive statement and whatever we do or feel, should be positive. Feeling `positive' e.g. about our environment such as reminisent of a gift i.e. such as lauging buddha in your culture, could perhaps give a good feeling. Being positive is good even if it does not have a direct relationship with Feng Shui. Contrary to the belief that we should place our eggs into one basket i.e. Ho…

Dear Mir, Actually this is not Feng Shui. In Singapore, or more commonly, it is placed facing an entrance. For example, in many Chinese (local) homes in Singapore, it is placed on the opposite wall facing the main entrance. Perhaps, this is psychological as once one steps into the home; one is "immedately" greeted by a smiling "face". In Singapore, most Chinese business do not place a laughing buddha in their business whether be it facing the main entrance or otherwise. In Singapore, some Chinese businessman would instead place a "Guan Kong" (rather than a laughing buddha) with the hope of securing more business. Thus, in my opinion, it does not matter whether the …

Dear Debasis, In my opinion, the figurine should be considered more as a decorative piece. Frankly, there is nothing magical with the piece. Personally, I have such a piece (as shown) attached. I personally liked it because, it was made in the early 1930's. It is nice to look at because of his (buddha's) lovely smile and nice to see kids climbing (taking advantage) of him:) As mentioned, we should treat these pieces as interior art pieces. But, if one have such pieces, it is best not to let them face into bedrooms, on the same wall as toilet etc... Otherwise, enjoy! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, It is best to look at Feng Shui in a holistic approach i.e. looking at "WEALTH" from various angles such as: 1. How good is the Shapes and Form of the home i.e. external environment, the site, the building and the home. 2. Using Compass School methods such as Flying Star and Eight House. 3. By simply focusing on a corner of the house and to assume that this corner "makes "or "breaks" our achievement of WEALTH is in my opinion, too naive a concept. In my opinion, it is more important to get more areas correct, or `score' more points or marks in all areas to make it a better home will provide more results. Furthermore, to say that a `wealth area' is at a specific…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there should not be an issue here. Usually, it would not be good the "opposite way" i.e. to have the master bedroom below a far worse situation i.e. a toilet bowl directly above, say the master bedroom bed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Just imagine the road "slicing" towards the development. Thus, it is still better to avoid selecting units closest to the main road. Of course, factors like type of trees and distance from the road are other considerations. The most important consideration is cars entering the development. And always, the specific stack facing the entrance often has poor Feng Shui. Recently, I was looking at various developments and e.g. the BoatHouse, there is one stack at or next to the entrance : the ground unit with PES was still available (unsold - yet). Personally, this development reminds me of Meadows@Peirce; where personally, the entrance for this development is along the major…
