Dear Sandy, Yes, it makes practical sense for the 4-poster bed to be covered with fabric or lace. - OK, no issue. As it makes it easy to "maintain" i.e. wash and re-use again. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  2. 1. Some use ba zi to check whether a period is good for them i.e. financial gain or loss or be careful of purchasing of a home. 2. Others look at auspicious dates for negotiations. 3. There are others that feel that the Feng Shui is good before buying a home. 4. Many of us have our motive for purchasing a home and other factors include ability to obtain loan, bank evaluation of the home etc.... Overall, discuss with your immediate family and always bring along the whole family to view a home.

Dear Anon, 1. First of all thanks for pointing me to the direction of what the Tansu step cabinet look like. 2. In my opinion, Chinese medicine chest cabinets also have small compartments but usually are of equal height or levels. 3. I can understand your `concern' after looking at it. On one hand, it looks ok to me i.e. even if there are `poison arrows' it seems to point upwards. In my opinion, it is difficult to say since, I have very little encounters with this specific cupboard. Overall, you may have to decide should you want to purchase it. 4. Based on past experience, usually the `worst' threats are those aimed at the main entrance door and windows of a home. These …

Dear Shaqeel, If i am not mistaken what you trying to understand is about your house's Sitting and Facing position. Since you are born a kua no 9(Li)person, the most suitable house is Sitting East Facing West ,Sitting South East Facing North West ,Sitting North Facing South and Sitting South Facing North. (this could also be a reason why your West facing house is good for you) To get a more clearer feng shui analysis in your house, you will have to get a flying star chart for it. Just my opinion. Dear Flannery, 1. Under the symbolic animal concept, yes, the centre represents the Yellow snake. 2. Overall, we should not take the animals "literally". As the saying goes "a picture paints a thousand words". 3. Let me go off-track (first): In Singapore, when we started our first Singapore elections to elect representatives to Parliament, it was mandatory for political parties to adopt animal signs. 4. Thus, if one does not have or could not think of one; candidates can choose from the register a list of "party symbol". Thus one can find an independent candidate with e.g. an animal symbol as an example an elephant, or star etc... 5. Therefore, if (in a hypotheical case)…

Hi Adeline, Glad that you enjoyed our website. Firstly, this year is a Metal Rooster in a Wood Year. So the main influence is the Wood year influence. The element that your self element (Strong metal) destroys is your wealth. ie Metal destroy Wood, thus Wood is your wealth element. Given you are a Strong Metal, you will be able to benefit from this year. So it becomes auspicious for you. As a Strong metal, water helps to exhaust your excess Metal, while Fire also destroy your metal to reduce the excess Metal. So Water, Wood & Fire are all favourable for you. So this year will automatically be a good year for you. So if you plan to do anything important this would…

  9. [Note: Reference: Photo Tours of Interest - The Sterling Housing Development] Dear Anon, In the last picture of the Housing development, it shows the pool side. Above the units fronting the pool there is a `small hole' as shown with the red arrow in the picture. The project is on a gradient hill and the peak is the top of the triangle. The `hole' is to allow the Dragon Qi on the top of the hill (not to be entrapped) but to flow thru the hole `allowing' it to move freely downwards. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Max, There are many theories involved with regards to the kitchen: 1. Some FS practitioner feels that kitchen should be in harmony with either spouse. Either/or should be auspicious sector for either say the husband or wife. Please see below:- The main `argument' here is that it has to do with the fire element. Some FS practitioners feel that fire may be harmful as it can result in frequent quarrels. However, this is less of importance and we should be focusing more on:- 1. The kitchen has both the fire and water element i.e fire (stove) and water (the basin/refrigerator). 2. Priority is that the stove should try to face inwards in the kitchen as it helps to keep…

Some people believe that if you have the picture above the bed, it signify a married couple. 15. Hi Master Cecil Lee, I am keen in the project R&F, after you mention that the particular facing I am looking at is okay for buying. However, taking a closer look at the floor plan, as this layout is squarish, however with some slight protrusion here and there. Hence , if I complete the missing edges, I find that by marking a cross at the ends, the centre lies near or at the toilet of one of the bedroom. Is this considered bad , and I should abort buying? Or have I marked wrongly, as it is quite close, it may fall in the bedroom, or at the bedroom toilet. What is your determination of the centre of the house? …

  16. Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1. Feng Shui, like other methods, provides a sense of hope in various ways. It creates opportunities for us to explore with optimism. 2. However, it is important to consume Feng Shui in moderation. 3. It is natural for people to seek self-improvement, and in my view, when applied in moderation or correctly, Feng Shui can have remarkable effects. 4. On the downside, I am aware of numerous cases where individuals have either applied "Fast Food Feng Shui" on their own or placed excessive trust in Feng Shui, leading to negative consequences such as purchasing too many objects like wind chimes. 5. Currently, I …

    1. Please note that burying a jar of holy water underground is not a traditional Chinese practise. Have we ever wondered what happened after the holy water dried up? 2. The common practises are:- 2.1. Tilting the door to a certain degree OR 2.2. burying a bronze or copper (copper cum bronze) ruler at the main door to deflect the compass bearing especially if the facing direction is at a compass degree that straddles between one compass direction to the next. Commonly known as the zone of "empty - blank - nowhere"

Dear Lian Seng, Please see below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: "free-advice Listmanager" To: Sent: Monday, July 24, 2000 12:28 PM Subject: Placing a wind chime You have asked how to determine when to place a wind chime. It is good to analyse the house by doing a Flying Star analysis and then checking to see if a wind chime is `suitable'. Here, the type of material used and equally color of the wind chime should also be considered. For example, if the wind chime is colored red, or in a triangle shape, (depending on the overall shape) it could mean that it has the fire element. Frankly, it is hard for me to comment on your situation as mentioned above, it woul…

  21. Dear Jenny, Actually, when we look at Feng Shui you will find that we never put false hope on say finding the wealth corner or simply enhancing wealth only. Simply because it is not possible or easy to locate these factors simply by using any one theory. It is more often you will find us looking for overall solution in terms of the various problems you encounter all together. We always emphasize the importance of overall balance in every single area of your life. This means that if there is a problem in the Feng Shui relating to Shapes and Forms, we find a cure for that. And when there is a problem in the Feng Shui of the House (Flying Star), we recommend a solution for t…

Dear Elena, Yes, it is very common for people to ask for their immediate office to be Feng Shui-ed. Most of the time if it is the CEO or a manager, they do have a room to themselves. Here, if it is the case, this would be `easy.' Most important thing to remember is to use the Shapes and Form School. Even if it is an individual table, one should always consider using Shapes and Form. Here, for the Manager's room, make sure that his back is facing a wall or never have the door opened to his back. He/She should also have the desk supported on one side of the wall. Next watch for poison arrows and overhead beams. Considerations such as this are the most important. Next, you …

Hi Cecil, I just received a land boundary/lot diagram of my new house. The land is wider in the back and makes an arrow pointed shape. I remeber reading in your resouce forum that this particular shape is inauspicious. I am attaching a picture for your reference.Theback of the houseslopes higher than the front as the housesitstowards a base of a hill, with slight elevation higher in the back. There was tremendous landscape work done to the backyard already. Any advice isgreatly appreciated. You can use my picture as an educational reference. Thanks again.
