Dear Vincent, I would agree with you that central palace could most likely still be a Period 7 especially if there is no major renovations done on or after CNY 2004. For example, if you had not done any major renovations or if the existing owners did not do any major renovations; or if there are no major renovations done on the external also, then normally it is best to consider your home as a Period 7. However, after taking over the apartment this year, if you had done a major renovation, then your apartment can be considered as a Period 8. In my opinion, if you did not do a major renovation, it should be considered as a Period 7 analysis. Early this year, there we…

Dear Mitesh, To be truly honest, it is best that you confide your problem with a close family member or even a friend. Especially at this time of need. Or do seek help from a voluntary org. in your country. Generally, many of us do encounter relationship problems and as mentioned above, try to confide in someone to hear your problems. Take care! Dear Anon, In my opinion, this can be quite "tricky". For example, if it involves a major renovation to get the entire basement upgraded, there is a likely chance that your home can change to period 8. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Truly, in this case, you really have not much place left for an office. For most office, so long as it is well ventillated e.g. with air-con. This is OK. However, if (last resort) you are using your home bomb shelter, one can still do so so long as there is also sufficent ventilation and lighting. Frankly, often, the rubbish cute is closed when not in use. Not a major issue. Therefore, if you really have no choice, do try it out first and see how it goes, here. Of-course, if there are any other choice e.g. using the living room - where one can see the day - night, this is much the bette…

Dear Satori, Frankly, there is no harm in placing a rug. Perhaps, this is more like taking a "sugar-coated" pill. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, so long as you try to do minor renovations or do if possible do it piecemeal i.e. renovation a few locations at a time e..g not more than 1/4 of the home, usually your home would not fly into the new period. Thus, if you need to change the carpet, see if it is possible or feasible to do them piecemeal:-

Dear Satori, To be honest, this resource is meant for one who is contemplating designing a new home. But once, the "steps are formed" or had been laid, there is not much one can do to change it unless -- one resorts to a major reno - which is not practical. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear K T, Unfortunately, everyone is supposed to be born with a certain destiny path. For some people, the big luck (ie 10-year luck) luck is always with him, such person will normally find that whatever they do, things will always work out for them, with minimal effort. However, for majority of us, luck isn't always with us. This means that we have to work extra extra hard as compared to those lucky few who have luck with them. There is no way you can change this. You can however, attempt to improve it by creating an environment with as many areas in your life being favourable to you. ie a weak Wood, will need more Water and Wood. This means that you need to try to ha…

Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply! However, based on my question 3 on the master bedroom, I have a further question about it. As shown in my previous diagram, since there are 2 hdb flats by the side of the pedestrian walkway, do the corners of the 2 hdb flats constitued sha-qi aimed at our master bedroom? What can we do if it is? Thanks alot! - Amy

Dear Cecil, Thanks for being a wonderfully helpful guy that you are! Really appreciate your patience! I do have a few more questions with regards to my master bedroom and my balcony (because of this taiwanese fengshui show that brings up alot of scary stuff). First of all, Balcony. It seems that the balcony is supposed to be the career area of the owners of a house (or something like that), thus one should not make changes to the balcony (or sorts). Question: However (please see diagram below), since ours has kinda been removed into a living room extension cum cosy corner of sorts, is there a problem then? What rectification can we do? Should one really usually…

Thank you for your reassuring comments. We did in fact choose a free form pool and there will be lots of plants. I was thinking about a row of bamboo. Your advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sandra

Dear Ricky, Yes, this is definitely a much better arrangement: 1. the sharp edge of the cabinet no longer points towards the dining table. 2. this layout definitely makes the kitchen more rectangular in-shape and the fridge is now flushed against the wall area. (So long as there is proper ventilation for the back of the fridge, this is ok). 3. If the oven is at position A, this is OK. 4. Generally, we have not taken into consideration the wife's ba zi to see if the stove is in a good facing direction. But, if say the opposite direction is favourable, then a mirror can be used to "reflect" the image to the other side of the wall. Especially if current stove is sa…

Dear AC, 1. As mentioned in my previous message, it is generally considered as a leak i.e. especially if the WC /sewerage line is found at the frontage toilet. But if the toilet has a half-bathroom i.e. generally only for bathing or shower, and no WC, then, it is a non-issue. 2. Be-careful of where the Grand Duke location is and also the 2nd direction of where not to renovate the home during this lunar year of the monkey: Do check that the renovation works should not be carried out at either: 1. West-South-West at 240 degrees 2. South If you are doing the renovation works for next Rooster Year 2005, then these locations are taboo:- A. West at 270 degrees or B. East…

Dear Iris, As stated in the report that it should not be interpreted too seriously. Since this is a vertical Flying Star Feng Shui. Most of the time, it is used merely to compare a situation where: We are interested in buying a unit in a specific block e.g. block 15. And since there are available units #5-15 , #6-15, #8-15, this report is used to look at the qi flow within each of these units. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sandra, Where possible, the pool should not be circle or circular shape. Since the tiger is considered as a "white" or metal tiger, often a line of plants can be used, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Nowadays, many of us immediately associate Feng Shui merely with the interior decor of a home. But this is far from the truth. For example, I refer to Dr Evelyn Lip's book "Chinese Geomancy - A layman's guide" Page 7:- Quote from her book: "There are three types of sha or sand which the geomaner looks for. These are represented by the various "star" symbols. The Star of Fire represents sand that has a sharp and cutting edge while the Star of Wood is sand that is round and straight. Sand that is long and round is called the Star of gold, whilst sand that forms a wave-like pattern is called the Star of Earth. Once the quality is sand is determined and classi…

Dear Hoa Luong, This has more to do with commonsense approach to Feng Shui. For example, in Malaysia, it was felt that a corner lot on a quiet side of the street could attract thieves. However, nowadays with modern deterence such as motion sensor lighting, mimic dog barks and alarm systems, it makes it much harder for anyone to violate the property without a warning. Warmest Regards, Cecil
