Dear Cecil, Thank you for your response. The lot is a residential lot. My husband and I are looking at buying a house, and we found a house that we like very much. It is on a good direction (according to the Eight House calculation) but the lot is irregular shaped with the back smaller than the front, its dimension: 77ft wide at the front and 44ft wide at the back, 1 side is 148 ft long, another side is 138ftlong. I would like some advice if there are any cures or is it worth to purchase the house. Thank You very much. Van.

Dear Lily, The calculation of the Hourly branch i.e. the first part is taken from zi (rat) but the Heavenly stem requires one to look at the Day pillar together with zi (rat) to find out the Heavenly stem of the hour. Therefore if one looks at it zi (rat) whether it is zi-early rat or zi-late rat does not matter. What is more important is to get the Day correct. Essentially, if one understand how Pillar works, the hour pillar is not that necessary as not all analysis refer to the hour pillar. However, with the hour of birth one can get more accuracy i.e. more elements to analyse especially for house of life. House of conception does not need the Hour pillars. Robert who i…

Dear Joan, Based on the Chinese Astrological signs:- Until 15 Feb 1999, this period is still considered a Tiger year. Rooster in a Tiger year represents:- a. Good fortune and good time to push ahead with personal plans. b. Career switching is good and best go into partnership with one born in Ox. c. Plenty of chance to meet a partner, but true love comes only at the end of the year. d. Stay away from the sick otherwise it may spread to your family members. Rat in a Tiger year represents:- a. Beware of cash flow problems. Manage your budget wisely. Best to save. b. Better to be employee then boss. c. Those born in 1948 may have good or bad news coming your way in Decembe…

Generally, the it is often not good for stove to face the fridge/washing machine. But this depends on the type of washing machine. For example front loading washing machine has a glass porthole. Thus under symbolism in Feng Shui, when water fills up the washing…

  8. Sorry, really, no offence; but what you mentioned is pretty common. Even 20 years ago; there are already penthouse especially with jacuzzi on top floors; just that if you are not in the real estate or Feng Shui business; you may not have encountered this. When you mentioned pool at the roof garden; mentally, in my mind; I could easily name several developments with such things. For example, just last year, I audited a unit at Sixth Avenue Ville; which has a roof top pool. Here, one of my clients bought a resale flat that is below the pool. In Singapore, in the 1970's there were already several hotels with roof top pools. There are even more condos with swimming pools on …

    1. Honestly, as all of us know, for an apartment, there is no way we can relocate a toilet. 2. In previous forum messages, I had mentioned that often it takes more than 3 or more MAJOR"leaks" to make the Feng Shui negative in a home or apartment. 3. Thus, a toilet at the centre of the apartment is considered as just ONE MAJORleak. 4. Therefore, in your case, if you are applying Feng Shui; then make sure that your apartment has no more than 2 or more MAJOR leaks. 5. The most sensible approach or rather common sense approach is to read up the following:- The Concept of Maximizing Marks

Dear Jen, Please go thru some of the resources here:- House Hunting: Can or Cannot buy? http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-hunting/po-hunting-faq.htm In fact, many times I have been taken advantaged of with regards to the above. For example, in the past, I had to literally `put-down' every other work to help these people. The faster I help analyse each case, it does not seem to be appreciated. What's more, often I hear of "threats" - The agent says, I must confirm OR ELSE.. In fact, there were many cases where some clients (I did for free) literally - gave me the entire development's plans and help them find good choice units. One even asked me could I identify good hous…

Dear Maggie, 1. Yes, what you had described is a Chinese cultural belief or taboo. 2. And, many Chinese fear of repercussions such as not only complications but - the concern of a miscarriage. 3. This is especially so for the bed. For example, once pregnant, the Chinese believe that one must not shift or relocate the bed (on which the pregnant person sleeps on). 4. Even if one needs to move house; for example, NO CHOICE because they had sold the house before delivery, the pregnant person must avoid seeing the event i.e. moving her bed etc.... 5. As for the renovations in the kitchen, the stove is a major concern also. And where possible try not to remove the sto…

Dear Aquino, 1. Grey represents "water element". 2. Usually a harmonious colour e.g. external walls that can blend with this "water element" is white. This is because under the Five elements concept: `Metal' supports `Water' element 3. This is why, if one looks carefully at the `colour' wheel chart; and most "normal" Interior designers IDs/architects will often recommend white walls with this grey colour. I don't mean therefore to say that some IDs or architects can be "abnormal". 4. But often on an asthetic level we often do not see earth tones such as yellow, cream or beige or even peach go with this type of grey colour. 5. More often the orange redish tile (fire elem…

The only caution with using light cream or beige is; if say a bedroom is painted light cream or beige; and the ceiling lights is also "warm yellowish" lighting. If so, a bedroom that has any of the following combinations of 20 Year Flying Star numbers:- Mountain star = #5 or #2 or #9 with Water star = #5 or #2 or #9 with In such a situation, the best "cure" is to use "cool daylight" lighting. This is because "Warm white" or yellowish coloured light when turned on in a bedroom looks yellowish and this is further accentuated by the bedroom having light cream wall. Just imagine even when we wear a white shirt; when we turn on a "yellowish" lamp; the shirt looks "yellowi…

Hi! Master Lee Thanks for your earlier advice. My house was built in 1987, so it is still under Period 7, instead of period 8. Thus, the Xuan Kong Fei Xing for my bedroom (North-East Direction) are #5, #9 and #1, the year flying star is #4, instead of #9, #7 and #2. In this case, shall I hang 6 emperor's coins with red string at my bedroom's window or bed head? Or it is better to place a bronze Hulu at my bed head?Or where should I place it and can I recycle the 6 coins which I used them in my previous house? My husband sleeps under a ceiling light and his waist is right under it. That's why sometimes he feels that his waist is a bit pain. Besides, moving bed, what i…

  18. 1. A small crystal ball is a modern invention. As crystals were only manufactured (mass production) around the 1980's. Some practitioners use this instead of the convex mirror (the concept is to deflect "totally" away). 2. While the crystal has to be placed inside the home usually behind the window... It is also used by some practitioners to deflect poison arrows such as these. Still acceptable. 3. For wind chime:- 3.1. Best to use 6 HOLLOW rods (usually different lengths - avoid SOILD rods) 3.2. Traditional Feng Shui type is made of copper or brass coated exterior. It usually has a pagoda roof and a Chinese ancient coin attached as the clinger. 3.3. An alternative mod…

Dear George, Frankly, it is not exactly Feng Shui. But overall, it is certainly nice to have birds around! In Feng Shui, we call this the secret ingredient. Or, birds around or close to the house is a `secret' ingredient. Usually, where there are birds, it normally suggests greenery. I am not sure, if this is the case, but, a garden with birds or birds coming into the estate in most instances means greenry around. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Yes, the bedroom is a Yin location (especially for adults). In Feng Shui the reason why many FS Masters suggest not to have plants is because plants are GROWING and do create some form of Yang `activity'. I guess a small plant is acceptable. What usually is no good are larger potted plants with large leafs. As for fresh "cut-flowers', there is no problem in placing them in a bedroom.. Most flowers do smell nice:) Water in the form of an aquarium or a fish tank is not good to be placed in a bedroom. This is because fishes swimming in the fish tank do generate yang ch'i and again as the bedroom is a place of rest (yin) it is not ideal to have a fish tank in the room. Even s…

Dear Anna, As a weak earth (assuming that this is your true element), wood is not good for you. Metal (especially strong metal) is not good for a weak earth as it exhausts the weak earth. However, if your true element is strong earth, then this would change what was mentioned above. So if we take the above as your unfavourable element. Thus it means that this period is not a favourable period for you in your Pillars of Destiny. If you translate into events this means that things you like to do may end up not as what you wanted. However, take note that by your reference to a period dominated by strongest metal, I am assuming that you are refering to say the 10 year period.…

In my opinion, it sounds better than a house directly facing a temple. However, if the temple is on a North-East and South-West alignment and vice-versa; and your apartment orhome is aligned in this North-East to South-West; then one has to be extra careful of the concept of: "Devil's gate". Besides this, location, location and location is equally important.
