I have bought a new house. Right in front of my house beside the front gate, there is a water hydrant. Is this suppose to be bad feng shui ? There is also a TNB station opposite my house , two doors away. Will it have any effect on me?

Dear Oleta, 1. Frankly, and in my opinion, there are no hard or fast `rules' with regards to the color in a child's room. 2. But rather, it depends. Here, it depends on the location of the bedroom. For example, if the bedroom is facing a west location e.g. windows with direct sunlight that comes into the room. Then use cooler colours or a neutral colour such as white. Here, pink etc.. is not quite appropriate. 3. Some Feng Shui practitioners believe that the bedroom should (I use the word can) be painted to suit the child's Ba Zhi or element. This is quite a common advise provided by many FS practitioners. However, as I always believe, it depends on the level of particip…

  3. Dear Vadym, 1. The more accurate analysis is the use of Pillars of Destiny as it analyses your Year, Month, Day and Time of birth. In the more advanced analysis, Year, Month, Day, Time, House of Conception and House of Birth are taken into consideration. 2. Thus, if the proper analysis was done and as you are deduced to be a `strong metal', you can use more advanced methods such as looking at each direction based on the element. 3. For example, North is Water. South is Fire element. Thus for this two sectors: 4. Since water exhausts your STRONG metal thus create a balance. This sector is considered good for you. 5. Fire is also good sector as fire destroys strong metal t…

Dear Phyu Phyu, Based on your description, it looks like if your house is much higher than the back, usually it is not affected by the dead end. In addition if you have bushes inbetween the house and the dead end. With `proper care' of the slope to avoid soil erosion is ideal. In my opinion, you need not do anything at this stage. However, if there are sufficient lighting (external) this would be great. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. You brought up an interesting question. 2. Honestly, at present I really do not have the answer. This is because, there are very few houses I personally come across with a bedroom at the centre location of the house. Usually, this would either be clear space, the staircase area or the hallway and even toilet locations. More commonly part of the living or dinning area. 3. Another reason is because bedroom suppose to be private area i.e. four walls and windows /door and I cannot imagine a bedroom at the centre and yet, have windows surrounding at least one side. 4. Assuming that you sleep at the centre room, then it is difficult to apply the Eight House conce…

    1. In my opinion, it is difficult to comment with the limited information; available. 2. Often, when it comes to the question of : Should I move? For many, the question posed is: will my new home be better or worse than the current home. 3. For many (unlike yourself); perhaps have stayed in a home; not much fantastic Feng Shui luck; but still can scrape thru. What happens if the next home has worse Feng Shui; or similar to what you may have encountered? 4. However, in your case; I am not sure how detailed the "Feng Shui" analysis and cures that was done previously. 5. On your question of "how extreme to have to move": Currently para 4; is a real question mark; and you ha…

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no mircle feng shui solution for a successful sale of a business. So far only possible thing you can do is to try to choose luck dates or ensuring you wear more favourable colours during your meeting with the potential buyer. Probably only additional feng shui method is to quote some feng shui benefits. Maybe it will help change the buyer's mind. You will probably want to take a look at non-feng shui solution, ie painting the walls to make the place look clean and tidy. In addition, list out the reasons why the place is good and stress on it. Frankly, if the place is as good as you say, then probably you are not advertising it well enough …

Dear Anon, Use metal should be fine and not crystal. But make sure that it is not a metal ball. One condition of the metal star is that it should be solid and non-moveable. A metal ball does not fit this description. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Under the Flying Star theory, a house can be considered auspicious (bearing in mind that Shapes and Form Feng Shui has also to be considered) - if it has a "double" number similar to the period. For example, if the house's main door is located at North 1 and there is a double 7's i.e. mountain star = 7 and water star = 7 for a house under Period 7. Similiarly, for a period 6 house, there is a double 6's (mountain star = 6 and water star = 6) for a house built under Period 6. Similiarly, for a period 5 house, there is a double 5's (mountain star = 5 and water star = 5) for a house built under Period 5. In addition, houses built under perio…

Dear Anon, 1. First of all, one viewpoint of the Grand Duke Theory is that the Grand Duke is actually based on the movement of the Planet Jupiter. 2. As Jupiter is the largest planet circling, thus Chinese astronomers believe that it has an influence (e.g. magnetic influence) on other planets depending on its location. 3. Thus, one view is that the Grand Duke is based on Chinese Astrology readings. Please see below:- Yes, I recalled a real life example of a user in this forum. I believe it was one of the older messages. She mentioned that workers dug earth outside the room which she was sleeping. And she had problems after that. Yes, based on the 3 killings, usua…

Dear Anon, Yes, in general, it is best to avoid plants with thorns inside the house (where possible). Usually, a plant lover chooses plants they `enjoy' or like and places them either in the garden or interior of the house. This is unlike a person who, was told that plants are beneficial and wants to `benefit' from them. It is always, a good choice to view the plants before, deciding buying it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  16. Dear Riccia, 1. To increase the wealth factor, and depending on the flying star chart, a water position,(if appropriate) can help to redress this imbalance. 2. But in-order to be effective, the flying star chart for the specific period (or) if the next period's chart is significantly better, than, one should try to fly into the next period. 3. For example, for many homes under Period 8, where there are: 4. #5 or #2 or a combination of these at the main door - should check out the next flying star period to see if it is more beneficial to `fly' to the other period. 5. Rather than, doing mediocre enhancement or trying to squezze out more than what the current chart cannot …

    1. Firstly, "Feng Shui is not a cure all". And numerology such as house numbers have no real precedence in Feng Shui. 2. No. 4 can be considered as a double edged sword. Some of us, don't look kindly to this number but there are some who feel neutral towards the number.

In ba zi, time of birth may affect some of the character analysis and overall five element percentage. But in general, only a few hours really differ from having only the day of birth analysed. Unless element strength is different (ie weak water changed to strong water), there will no be too great a difference. Often, our advise is not sure, take an analysis without the hour of birth as the foundation analysis. In Zi Wei Dou Shu (Chinese Astrology/Horoscope), it is also quite similiar, the likelyhood…

Dear kb Ang, Frankly, even with a simple Eight House (4 good and 4 bad directions), there are so many people who still find it hard to apply due to complete oppositestype of chart between two person. That concept you mentioned is only add further complications. Anyway, I don't advise the use of it, simply because there is an even better one that is derived from the Ba Zi Feng Shui. Ba Zi uses the date and time of birth so it is likely to give better results than Gua (Kua) analysis. Gua analysis uses only YEAR of birth. Hope that helps. Dear Han, 1. No it is my opinion, that the two round columns are part of the structure of the building and I feel that it is not `symbolic' of the two objects that can form a triangulation. 2. You would need e.g. two pots of plants on each side (as an example) to use the `triangular effect'. Well, this is based on my personal experience and it may vary with other practitioners on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Georgy, #8 = current prosperity and appears as the base (or palace star #8) #1 = future, future prosperity water element ON Mountain star AND #6 = strong metal Thus, #6 strengths the mountain star #1 (future, future prosperity). In addition, base star #8 is the current prosperity thus bring good relationship and networking luck. Overall, despite your ba zi element: You can consider painting the room cream or beige. As you are a strong metal person although earth colours are suppose not to besuitable for you:- Earth colours are: BRIGHT Yellow, cream or beige But because this sector or room has verygoodearth (mountain) elements, you can seriously consider paintin…

Dear Patricia, If you have a bed between the bedroom door and the bedroom, you can place a side table with a table lamp. The table lamp and the side table will be symbolic of a partition between the two. Other than this, a screen can be used. If this is not possible or feasible to do so then there is not much that can be done other than to close the bathroom door when not in use. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Karen, The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it. For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective. In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit. ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine. ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine. Or it represents the current flyin…
