Dear Anon, Anon wrote: Recently my mother consulted a geomancer on my home fengshui. After giving my birth information, I was told that my gua no. is 8 and I belong to the eath element. So the geomancer started to tell me to put in some colours which is favourable to eath element, such as red, orange and yellow. Then I tried your free report in this website and also was found out that my gua no. is indeed 8. Based on my pillars of destiny, I was told that I belong to the strong fire element and suitable colours would be those belong to earth or water elements and not the fire element colours as proposed by the geomancer. I am now very confused. Who should I listen to as …

Dear Anon, 1. First of all, one viewpoint of the Grand Duke Theory is that the Grand Duke is actually based on the movement of the Planet Jupiter. 2. As Jupiter is the largest planet circling, thus Chinese astronomers believe that it has an influence (e.g. magnetic influence) on other planets depending on its location. 3. Thus, one view is that the Grand Duke is based on Chinese Astrology readings. Please see below:- Yes, I recalled a real life example of a user in this forum. I believe it was one of the older messages. She mentioned that workers dug earth outside the room which she was sleeping. And she had problems after that. Yes, based on the 3 killings, usua…

Dear Niteka, Yes, I also believe that as far as possible, the centrepoint of the home should have clear space. Particularly the movement of the elevator creates Sha Qi at the centrepoint of the home which is not ideal. (The near equavalent is the toilet at the centrepoint). The staircase is a secondary (problem) as when compared to the elevator. Frankly, we normally wish or hope that there can be an effective `cure' but this is best avoided (if one can). As this is Sha Qi with regards to Shape and Form. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Frankly, what you had mentioned; is beyond the scope of this General Advice Forum. 2. Either you have to Do it yourself (DIY) or seek expert help. 3. As for DIY, like everyone else; there are lots of concepts to both digest and make use of. And often, it is an uphill task. 4. Under the Holy Trinity of Luck:- 4.1. Heaven Luck = born with 4.2. Earth Luck = Feng Shui of the home and/or office 4.3. Human or man luck = relationship with family members, family support etc.. 5. Feng Shui is not a cure all. And even within Feng Shui: there are things like Shapes and Forms, Flying Star and even ba zi of bread winners in relation to the home etc... Anonymous wrote: Dear C…

Dear Evelyn, I believe the rationale, here is that the twin goldfish represents the metal element. And metal helps to produce water. In such a situation, it is possible to place the goldfish picture outside the toilet wall - if you want to. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Karen, The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it. For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective. In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit. ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine. ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine. Or it represents the current flyin…

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no mircle feng shui solution for a successful sale of a business. So far only possible thing you can do is to try to choose luck dates or ensuring you wear more favourable colours during your meeting with the potential buyer. Probably only additional feng shui method is to quote some feng shui benefits. Maybe it will help change the buyer's mind. You will probably want to take a look at non-feng shui solution, ie painting the walls to make the place look clean and tidy. In addition, list out the reasons why the place is good and stress on it. Frankly, if the place is as good as you say, then probably you are not advertising it well enough …

Just to share with forum readers. I recently shifted into my new condo apartment in July 1999. On shifting in, my career did not improve. In fact, took a nose-dive. I was by-passed for a promotion and my boss was snubbing me for circumstances beyond my control. I read a FS book that stated that having a fish tank in the north sector of the living room will improve one's career prospects. I didn't want to manage the hassles of a fish tank, so, I thought of using something more static. I decided to install tiles of fishes on my cabinet that was located in the north sector of the living room just to see if things improve. Surprise! Surprise! six months down the road, I have…

Dear Anon, Yes, in general, it is best to avoid plants with thorns inside the house (where possible). Usually, a plant lover chooses plants they `enjoy' or like and places them either in the garden or interior of the house. This is unlike a person who, was told that plants are beneficial and wants to `benefit' from them. It is always, a good choice to view the plants before, deciding buying it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Oleta, 1. Frankly, and in my opinion, there are no hard or fast `rules' with regards to the color in a child's room. 2. But rather, it depends. Here, it depends on the location of the bedroom. For example, if the bedroom is facing a west location e.g. windows with direct sunlight that comes into the room. Then use cooler colours or a neutral colour such as white. Here, pink etc.. is not quite appropriate. 3. Some Feng Shui practitioners believe that the bedroom should (I use the word can) be painted to suit the child's Ba Zhi or element. This is quite a common advise provided by many FS practitioners. However, as I always believe, it depends on the level of particip…

    1. In my opinion, when you mention "south on the bagua", I may rightly or wrongly come to the conclusion that you are getting a template and placing it over the layout plan. 2. If you are considering the "modern commercial invention" of fixed template Feng Shui, where this "joker" prepares a template with markings like: North (career) ....... then, this practise is NON Traditional Feng Shui. 3. As I have mentioned, TRADITIONAL Feng Shui is about taking the correct directions and superimposing say a Flying star chart. If you are applying Flying Star Feng Shui, then South is south, north is north based on the magnetic compass. If not sure, re-read, and re-read again. Alt…

Dear Phyu Phyu, Based on your description, it looks like if your house is much higher than the back, usually it is not affected by the dead end. In addition if you have bushes inbetween the house and the dead end. With `proper care' of the slope to avoid soil erosion is ideal. In my opinion, you need not do anything at this stage. However, if there are sufficient lighting (external) this would be great. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  20. Dear Riccia, 1. To increase the wealth factor, and depending on the flying star chart, a water position,(if appropriate) can help to redress this imbalance. 2. But in-order to be effective, the flying star chart for the specific period (or) if the next period's chart is significantly better, than, one should try to fly into the next period. 3. For example, for many homes under Period 8, where there are: 4. #5 or #2 or a combination of these at the main door - should check out the next flying star period to see if it is more beneficial to `fly' to the other period. 5. Rather than, doing mediocre enhancement or trying to squezze out more than what the current chart cannot …

    1. The professional approach is to apply Flying star Feng Shui. And the most advantages is to see especially where the water star #8 is; and if it can be activated. 2. For example, if the water star is at the living room area and a "suitable" place can be allocated for the fish tank then this is the most ideal location. In addition, in general, locations that a fish tank can be placed are locations that have water star #1 or even locations where there are bad earth e.g. if the living room location has #5 and/or #2 and /or #9. 3. Please note that Gua numbers are secondary to the above. Even if one's gua is not suited to having a water position in a home, but if say a loc…

  22. Dear Vadym, 1. The more accurate analysis is the use of Pillars of Destiny as it analyses your Year, Month, Day and Time of birth. In the more advanced analysis, Year, Month, Day, Time, House of Conception and House of Birth are taken into consideration. 2. Thus, if the proper analysis was done and as you are deduced to be a `strong metal', you can use more advanced methods such as looking at each direction based on the element. 3. For example, North is Water. South is Fire element. Thus for this two sectors: 4. Since water exhausts your STRONG metal thus create a balance. This sector is considered good for you. 5. Fire is also good sector as fire destroys strong metal t…

    1. Firstly, "Feng Shui is not a cure all". And numerology such as house numbers have no real precedence in Feng Shui. 2. No. 4 can be considered as a double edged sword. Some of us, don't look kindly to this number but there are some who feel neutral towards the number.
