Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm looking atbuying a house and themain door opens out to a split door, is it "harmful" for the ones staying in the house? Is there a cure ? Generally, if you open your door and anything that cuts or split in your house, this is considered inauspicious. As it is normally a form or sha qi or poison arrow. This means this wall/split will cut right into your house. Typical way to resolve is try to block it. Probably like having at least gate with has half the height covered. Or even having some partition inside your house just after you enter into the door. Or last resort may be to use a ba gua to reflect the problem, but this may lead to bagua…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My facing is actually N1 but the main door is in the sector SW under flying star. Under period 8 it is star 5, f9, s7. Anonymous wrote: 5,9,7 is this a good combination? Under the period 8, unfortunately this isn't a good flying star combination. 5 (Strong Earth) - Inauspicious Sickness Star, 7 (weak metal) - Inauspicious Robbery Star, 9 (weak fire) - Average Future Prosperity Star. The combination is such at instead of enhancing the future prosperity star. This star influence is being converted to activate the inauspicious stars stronger. As such, it is considered overall inauspicious sector. Water and Wood element essential to help con…

Appended on 4 December 2019: Suggest, please go directly for an in-dept understanding of the Frontage of a house. Is it always the main door? Please refer to the attached resource: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=26954&new= For practical reasons, the smallest Asian sized door width is 35 inches. For European or American standard - should be 42 inches or 48 3/4 inches roughly within such a range. Commonsense approach is that if the width is larger; the larger clearance the door has to "swing" inwards. And imagine if the door size is 58 inches (one or two leaves) a…

Dear Master Cecil, I live in a 2 storey terrace house. My house is facing southeast 2, but our main door is tilted 90" facing northeast 2 which is also facing a wall sharing with my neighbour (7 feet apart). If I stand at the main door inside looking out, on my left is the wall (outside the house) and on my right is also a wall 4 feet width (inside the house). My question is whether all the above will obstract chi coming into the house? How do I counter this problem. Can I put a portable round water fountain (3" diameter) with concrete stand directly in front of my main door with some plants as well to increase my earning power. TQ & Regards, Fiona

1. Frankly, one must understand why there is a rationale for properly determine where the "mouth of the house" is. 2. The main purpose of determine the "mouth" is so that we can understand where the main qi comes in. And thus, apply the Flying Star Feng Shui. And not based on our whims and fancies to "snake" around the home to find doors that fit the static Eight House (4 East/West Group) persons. 3. Please note that the Compass School of Feng Shui does not depend only on the Eight House concept. And how one tries to fit a square peg in a round hole sort of thing. 4. Thus, one should not be too obsessed only with the Eight House concept; as if the whole world revolves …

Dear Ang, Please There is a report available to analyse fully on this. It is common for those using a Loupan to read using the above method. It is read by looking at the Luopan and reading the facing and sitting direction. It is best to follow the methods of each practitioner (totally). And not mix one method with another. If each practitioner's method is followed closely, it should result in the same reading. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Audrey, 1. In Feng Shui, there is still a (strong element) of `Male domination'. 2. Given the two different groups - i.e. East vs West, we often go for the male figure i.e. in this case your husband. Unless you earn substantially more. 3. In my opinion, if one strictly base it on the Eight House than, this is still not the `best' home. 4. Go more for such combinations:- Husband: Excellent, Prosperity, Health and Longevity vs yourself - Spook and Irritation For example, the Main door is your husband's Excellent while for you it is your `spook' or irritation. 5. Where possible, one can still try not to have `death' or `disaster' at the main entrance or the bedroom are…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi, My husband and I are staying in a flat where our main door is directly facing the kitchen door. I know that it is not auspicious. It's not possible for us to shift to another flat, is there any remedy for this? Is there space available between the main door and the kichen door? If yes, then you can try to put some partition to prevent the kichen door from being seen directly. This is the best possible solution if any. Hope that helps. Hello Sir, We recently moved to a new home. The main door faces NE and opens inside to a small landing space with the kitchen right in front of it. The kitchen opens to a balcony. So from the main door you can directly look into the balcony. I try to keep the kitchen door closed as much as possible. Does this require to be rectified ? If so how ? The gas is placed in a position where we face NW while cooking. Thank you for the input

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no harm in placing a cross on your door. Often, when we read about Feng Shui, often it is not good to have two doors directly facing each other. This is because, there may be a possibility or a high probability of logger-heads between the two parties. For example, small things such as shoes strewn along the main enterance or noise coming from the neighbour. Even uneasyness of lack of privacy if both parties open their doors is considered unfavourable. Given all these, there is therefore a high chance of neighours being irritated with each other. A Lose-Lose situation? A lose-lose situation is when each party view the other with concern. For e…

Dear CY Ang, CY Ang wrote: From my life gua of 5, my "Jue Ming" direction is North. My new HDB flat sits North faces South with themain door in the North-East Sector. The main door faces North. Read that the main door should not befacing one's "Jue Ming" direction. I can't change the main door direction, what else can I do? Thanks Generally, that is why finding a house that is suitable is important before you even buy the house. Once you have bought it, it will not be possible to change it. So you can only try to fix up any existing leaks in the house, fix andmaximise yourflying star house luck, andimprove your own ba zi luck by having more of your favourable eleme…

Further to what I had mentioned earlier, Why is there no worries about Obsessivecompulsive disorder = OCD? Majority of homes should easily weather themselves from bad situations with or without Feng Shui. Those who want to play safe, can have the benefit of applying some of these concepts:- * Fix-the-Leak, First! * Situational Approach * The Concept of Maximizing Marks * The Concept of Feng Shui by Exception * The Customer Engineer Concept * The Three-Step-Approach You mean to say that in addition to all your worldly concerns each year; for some; ensuring that their child has everything for the coming new year school semester; your job; your family needs; yet..…

Dear Donna, 1. Yes, based on your description, this is indeed a threat to your home. The test is to stand inside the house looking out of the main door. If you can see the threat coming, then it is a threat or poison arrow. 2. If there is a small roof or rain shelter at the frontage of your house you can use a 6 rod metal wind chime to neutralise it. Since most roofs are constructed with wood. And under the five elements concept: Metal can destroy wealth. 3. Alternatively, in the east or Far East, Ba Gua mirror is often placed above the main door to serve as a protection from these. You can do a SEARCH for the various types. Or go to the conference: Photo Tours of Interes…

Dear Miriam, Indeed, one may utilize one of these options. However, in numerous situations, it could encroach upon a neighbor's frontage. Therefore, in certain cases, it is not practical. Conversely, if it has not yet undergone renovation, one can employ a protruding floor tile. I had previously shared an image illustrating this. Here is another image (illustration) that exemplifies the aforementioned protrusion. In fact, this method has been implemented in several condominiums in Singapore. One such location is the Signature Park Condominium, which was developed by City Developments, a subsidiary of the Hong Leong Group. Warmest Regards, Cec…

Dear Master Cecil Lee, In year 2005. every Feng Shui practioner claimed Main door facing North will enjoy good fortune throughout the year. Is there any feng shui enhancer which I can use to activate the luck. Mi wife is born in the year of Tiger (1962) is facing with a lot of work related problems in the office. The branch head and the head of department are giving her a lot of problems. It seem that few persons in the office are jealous about her position and trying to get her out from her position. Her colleagues are spreading uncalled remarks and criticisms about her. These are very strong indication of her weakness in her career. Is there any remedy to strenghten…

Dear Anon, Applying Feng Shui is also very similar to taking an examination. For example, many of us can remember having to take say an examination that requires us to answer 4 questions out of 10 questions. Here, many of us would recall our teachers teaching us examination techniques. And the advise by our teacher is to try to attempt to answer all 4 questions instead of only 3. For example, in the past, how many of us do not allocate time for each question. Thus in a 2 hour paper, and if we need to answer 4 questions, this means that we should allocate 30 minutes for each question. How many of us do not do this and as a result, managed to answer only 3 questions and…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We bought a new house. The main door is facing NW. Heard the 'wu-huang-sha' (5-yellow-sha) is on NW this year 2005 so it is not good to renovate. Is that ok if we start the renovation now but only move in next year (2006) after Lunar New Year? Firstly, is this a period 7 (1984-2003) house or period 8 (2004-2023) house. The reason I ask this is because, if it is a period 7 house or earlier, then any major renovation work done will change the house period. So the luck of the entire house might change for the better or worst depending on the charts. Generally, if you have a star 5 in the main door this year, of course, the worry would be that i…
