  1. Dear Anon, This recent posting, should help you understand, how to take a compass reading of the "mouth" or facing direction of a home:- - Start - 1. Please goto the conference: Feng Shui Tips and Guidelines. Immediately on the top page of the conference, try to read two articles: Part I Facing direction of a home Part II Facing Direction of a home. 2. More importantly, one need to understand the concept of Flying Star or what is considered as the "mouth" of the house from this article. If so, one can basically apply Flying Star Feng Shui more effectively. 3. And hopefully able to answer your questions, either more convincingly or with conviction. As no two homes a…

Dear Master Lee, We are currently looking at strata terrace (cluster house) where there is entrance from basement where the car will park and ground floor will be the living room, dining room and kitchen. With that, I believe the main door would be the the glass sliding door at the living room facing the outdoor patio. From the patio, we can see there is an entrance roof to the other development which looks like poison arrow. Seeking your opinion if this is harmful. We are keen with the unit and wanted to see if there is any remedy to this. Many thanks.

Dear Tay Jin, tay jin wrote: Can u educate me on this scenario whereby the main door is facing a posion arrow highlighted in red? In such a case, the only two possibility is to either have some plants at the corner of the room. Or to put some kind of partition at the door so that it will block the corner from cutting out to the door. See my attached graphic for an example.

    1. One good point is that fortunately, the emergency exit (staircase) is on the side and not directly visible from the main entrance door. - Good. 2. Frankly, symbolically it is not the best to face the dustbin; but I believe there is really not much choice as one cannot really change the external layout of your block of flat. 3.If a person is applying or going to apply Feng Shui, all we can do is to follow the concept of: http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks 4. From the picture of the room; although there are sharp edges: the bed position looks acceptable as the sharp edges don't seem especially to cut the bed. And the worktop ro study table is…

Dear Wendy, Due to many queries on the type of Ba Gua mirror to use, I have complied information on the various types. You need to login to the forum and goto this conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures) Look for the recent messages e.g Part I, Part II & Part III. Where I not only list a description of each type but also show pictures of them. Under the above, you should use the type as mentioned under Part I - Ba Gua mirrors - the models applicable for your case are Model A, B, C or D type of Ba Gua mirror. Especially if there is a sharp angle of another building aimed at your main entrance door. The above file has explained the various `models'. If it is…

Hi, I am new to Fung Shui, sorry if I ask silly or old questions. I live in a one bedroom apartment with an open kitchen. 1. As soon as I open my main door, I see my kitchen and stove. 2. I initially thought mymain door was facing south but in fact it faces North East (i.e. when exiting - I will face north east - correct?). 3. Myapartment is small so I can't put a divider in between the main door and kitchen. So what should I do to prevent the chi going out? Goldfish? Wind chimes? Bamboo sticks? I have been becoming ill lately and not getting along with people. I was born in the year of 1979 year of the Ram. Please help! Thanks in advance! MM

Dear Cecil, Can you define, what can be a screen (i.e what material) For instance can a plastic / cloth screen running the entire length of the kitchen door, can evade the inauspicious effect of the "Kitchen Door" facing the "Main Door". The problem is that I have a one room flat, where I do not have any leverage to do any structural alteration. Kind Regards, A. Vincent

Dear Anon Please see attached sketch for a better understanding of a poison arrow aimed at the main door. Apologies for the rough sketch. Just look at the concept. Here there are two issues: 1. the narrow corridor where the lift faces the main door. This is Sha Qi and can be cured with two plants placed strategically at the location. 2. I did not properly draw the angle at which the corridor aims at the main door but if it does it is a poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

The toilet door beside the guess room is facing the dinning area, is this a bad feung shui? (pls see attachment)Eager for your ReplySincerly,Ray

Dear Anon, The best remedy is based on the concept i.e. if one cannot see it is no longer a `threat'. If possible, a screen should be placed between the stairs and main door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  11. Recently, we just went to site visit one of the new Sales balance flat unit. We spotted one unit but that unit's main door is facing to the gas/telecom room. (See "GasRoom.png"). It is not entirely facing to the telecom/gas room, but half facing. When we try to stand in front of this unit's main door, half of the view are blocked by that room's wall, and another half is unblocked. Picture "FromFrontDoorView.jpg" is showing how it looks like when we stand in front of our favorite unit's main door. Picture "sideview.jpg" is the side view of our favorite unit. Could you advise is this a good to take unit?

Dear Faten, In the future, please use the online reports Free House Hunting report under the List of Wizard Report to assist you. Generally, the house is your husband's spook and your irritation. This means the house is not suitable for both of you. Since this is a suitability issue there is very little you can do to correct this unsuitability, simply you should avoid it. However, if you really still like the place, then make sure that the bedroom which you intend to sleep in is at least auspicious for you (based on the Eight House) and that the Feng Shui of the House is auspicious in its main door and bedroom (based on the Flying Star). Then fix up any problem areas in …

    1. There are three major considerations if Feng Shui is applied to evaluate the new private property:- 1.1. Commonsense Approach to Feng Shui Morning and Afternoon sun is a major consideration for any home especially for countries like Singapore at or close to the equator. Majority of the time it is either the master bedroom or two bedrooms of the homes that will be "bathed" by afternoon sun. (Direct morning sun is not ideal but not as bad as afternoon sun. This forum has touched on some of the concerns of afternoon sun and it has an effect on persons living in the home. For children, their studies - the heat... 1.2. Dear Anon, 1. The rationale for some books to say that South is a good direction is because the author felt that South = Fire is suppose to be a good direction for sales / marketing activity. (As Fire represents heighten activity). 2. This does not necessary mean that ALL shops should have their business premise facing south. This is also not feasible especially in a Shopping complex. It would not make sense to have a row of shops facing south and non in other sectors. 3. Ba Zi of the proprietor should be considered also. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. One of the key success factors is to determine what are the Flying Star numbers good or bad that is at the facade of a specific area of a home. 2. Thus, if the home isa landed property with four "facings"; it is good to encourage qi to flow either thru an opening such as a door or a window. 3. Therefore, look out for good flying star numbers such as: current prosperity stars #8 and future-future prosperity stars such as #1; often #9 is favourable also provided it is not "mixed" with #5 or #2. 4. From the above example under Para 3, if say; your main entrance door has either a mountain star #8 or a water star #8 or better still double #8's then; it is 10 times better…

  17. 1. Please refer to another similar thread:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27373&new= 2. It relates to "Commonsense-Feng Shui". The most obivious is to have a neat and tidy kitchen cum service yard area. And perhaps, some door as another user wanted to install in the above thread. 3. Commonsense dictate that in most situations; it is highly unlikely or impractical for a home owner to close the door be ita sliding or swinging door most of the time. However, in the event that one has guests, then; one could easily close this door. Especially in a practical world, one still has to hang clothes unless one uses a washing machine c…

Dear Master Cecil, I just started to learn Feng Shui 2 weeks ago. It is so interesting to me. I am eager to learn everything. We are going to move into a new house soon. The house is facing North and sitting South. I checked out Eight direction for me and my husband. My husband is a North East person (was born 09/1965) and I am a South West person ( was born 12/1969). Our main entrance is in Spook and Death sectors. I was shake. I do not know what to do? Question 2 is about Fish Tank. Where should I put it ? Will be good in the excellent and prosperity sectors ? Or other sectors ? Question 3 is about Wind Chime. I bought a big, nice metal Wind Chime few years ago. I woul…

( no other door) beside front door. please help and thank you very much. constance Generally, you cannot correct or fix a suitability issue. That is why buying a house that is suitable is the only way you can avoid this problem. As for a wood element person, depending on which sector is your house there is still a house element. For example, North facing is water element. Then if you are a weak Wood, water element will be good. So even if the house id death sector, then it will help to offset some of the inauspicio…

Dear Anon, Actually, when we consider luck under metaphysics (Geomancy), we should look at it from a holistic approach involving three types of luck:- Previously, I have already mentioned about three kinds of luck:- 1. Heaven Luck (known as Luck that was given to us when we are born) If we can see our Ba Zi chart, it comes under the category known as Pian Cai or "lottery or windfall" luck. Some of us are quite lucky while others do not have this type of luck at all. Worse, some of us have this luck only when we are at death bed e.g. 99 or 100 years old! 2. Earth Luck (or commonly known as Feng Shui) While some of us many not have Pian cai or lottery luck, some of u…

Dear Anon, 1. This depends on whether the main door is facing your auspicious direction. For example, if the slant is facing your Prosperity sector, this is better than say changing the door to it's original position if the door faces one of your inauspicious sectors. 2. The above is one of the techniques some FS practioners use to re-orientate the main door to an auspicious sector. 3. Some FS practioners even go to the extent of advising all their clients to slant their door if it happens to be facing NE (Devil's gate). Some go further and ask their clients to change the door if it also faces SW (Devil's backdoor). Here it depends and this should be looked into inconjun…

Dear Soo Juan, Yes, due to physical contraints, there is not much one can do here. The most important consideration is have a tidy kitchen. Here, remember to keep all forks, knifes and sharp objects of the kitchen. It is inauspicious if such items is placed in a situation, where when one opens the main entrance door, one sees such object(s) e.g. knives or sharp objects of the kitchen. It is preferred that the stove should not be in full view of the main door. If not, best to close the door leading to the kitchen. Here, the stove is usually a location where one suppose to keep the warmth and in such a situation, warmth is hard to retain. Warmest Regards, Cecil
