  1. 1. In Feng Shui, there are "fixed" formulas e.g. Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. But, in the realm of numerology, there are so many varied methods and interpretations. For example, phoentic sound-like to many is equally important. Cantonese Chinese don't like "4" or "44" etc... 3. And one method is converting your 780 into Chinese characters and counting the stokes etc.. Thus, since there is so vastly different methods of numerology i.e. the Chinese have many methods, the Indians have their numerology.. so where or how do you interpret 780? Since there is a right or wrong thus any interpretation usually gives a 50 percent chance!

  2. Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, there are far too many variations of what a mountain star looks like. 2. Therefore, as there are many human beings on earth, there are many Feng Shui practitioners with their own ideas of what the mountain star is. 3. Those who, perhaps sell crystals or used them before, would say that mountain star must be made of crystal etc... 3. While others sell `smooth' or beauty rocks would say that theirs is a mountain star. 4. Thus, it is always unproductive to argue over the shape and form of what a mountain star should be. 5. To this day, no one can claim that his or her mountain star is the only one that works. If so, surely there must be a book wr…

Dear Suzanne, A `flat' refers to the British language term that is equivalent to "an apartment or even condominium. Therefore, a flat number refers to the apartment's number e.g. #17-04 etc... The free Flying Star flat/apartment number analysis report therefore provides information on the `auspicious/inauspicious' interpretation of a flat/apartment. Ref: www.geomancy-online.com (Flying Star House no. report). Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lola, I glad that you find the information in the website useful. Please see below:- It is best that Qi can meander rather than go off directly thru and out of the house. If you do not see a direct path from the main door to the back, this is acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Master Cecil, I have a gold fish tank in the NORTH sector and a LARGE 400 litres marine fish tank in the NORTHEAST sector of the house. I understand this might not be ideal sectors for the aquariums for this year, but due to the massive size of the Marine Fish Tank, it is not possible to move it every year to the auspicious sector. So, what should I do? Marine Fish Tank - currently in Northeast sector, cannot be moved, i used a lid to cover the aquarium and hang a crystal sphere near the tankGold Fish Tank - currently in the North sector, can be moved if need to, i use a lid to cover the aquarium and place 2 brass dragon near the tank

Dear Anon, In my opinion, the interpretation is based on the address only. More importantly, depending on your level of usage of traditional methods or if one is only a `passer-by' of Feng Shui; other analysis are a better alternative: Such as correct shapes and form, avoiding poison arrows aimed at the house. These are easier to apply. More advanced methods such as Flying Star/Pillars depends as I mentioned above, on the level of your participation or non-participation in them. `Troubled mother' in terms of numerology implies `worries' of a parent (based on direct Chinese translation) of the combination of 3, 4 and 1 numbers. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Dear Elena, 1. In terms of priority, beds are considered the least concern. For example, more concern should be placed on the position to the bed relative to the room. 2. Thus in my opinion, of secondary importance are the beds. However, as you have described, colour do represent the element. Thus, for a weak metal child, metal bed or an alternative e.g. white or bronze bed (the colour of metal element is white or gold). 3. It is still acceptable thou, to use neutral colours or other colours for the bed support. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask if the breadwinner of the house is Strong Wood and water is his unfavourable element, can he still have a fish tank in his house if his house has a W8 in the right position. A little of everything even the unfavourable element is acceptable but too much will not be favourable for a Strong Wood person anymore. In this case, the flying star W8 is the water wealth sector. This will superceed the requirement of the ba zi. As what you are activating is the water wealth. So having a water feature there will be ok as long as it is in the right position where the water wealth is located. So even if the person is a Strong Wood, he can still …

  9. Mr Cecil, My bedroom is having M8, W8 and B3. facing South. If I stand facing south (window) Mountain star is on my left and Water star is on my right. If I stand facing north (inside the bedroom facing the door), then Mountain and water is the other way round. Where should I face and which is correct position of the mountain/ water star?

Dear Anon, For landed properties (with privacy) all round e.g. no tall buildings that can have a view or peer into the home thru the sky light, the use of sky light is acceptable! In ancient Chinese buildings, or homes may homes have an open court-yard akin to letting light into the home or close to the concept of the skylight. The only issue is to avoid placing a single tree in the middle of the home and have a skylight shining down. In the past, I had mentioned that this is similar to the word "KUN" in Chinese and very inasupicious. However, if there is no single lone tree, it is still acceptable. Nowadays, in Singapore, many terrace homes resort to adding transpare…

  12. Dear Esther, Usually, from a Feng Shui point of view, often, the bazi element of the person is matched with their bedroom colours. Overall, colours that often may have an impact on sickness is Bright Yellow and in some instances, Bright Yellow and Bright Red. In other instances, Bright Green is another colour to watch out. In general, safe colours are metallic colours or white or light pastel colours. Since the woodstove is black, blue is in my opinion (in general) still acceptable in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Please refer to your questions (below):- Q1 : Not found under Traditional Feng Shui. The fixed bagua template: Knowlege/Education area = a modern invention. No basis under Traditional Feng Shui models. Q2 : Generally no major concern other than if you intend to use especially colours like: BRIGHT RED, BRIGHT YELLOW or BRIGHT GREEN. Then, try to get a proper Feng Shui audit done to assess whether can or cannot use such colors. Q3 and Q4 : No too homes are the same. You may wish to consider get a Feng Shui audit done. Such as advise on where to place a fish tank. Quote: Will the extension extend our Knowledge/Education area or will we be creating missing Money/Wealth,…

  14. Imagine, if we were in the 1910's walking along the streets of Singapore; we might see a well organized worker clearing the streets. In the picture is a hard-working civil servant; some regard him as a scavenger. And he is clearing and cleaning the streets of North division. In the back-drop is the dust-van. Today, we might call this a dump-truck. Much like those placed outside a premises to haul away debris and yes, dust from the work-site (renovations or A and A works)

Hello! i came across this forum and the advise given here is really practical and interesting. I’ve been looking all over the internet for this problem which I might potentially encounter- three doors facing each other- and I’ve only come across one post that addresses it. Imagine this: 2 bedroom doors facing each other (master and common bedroom) and in between them is a common bathroom. I’ve attached a picture of something that represents this. And all these rooms lead out to an opening that leads to the living area. I understand that 2 doors, especially of bedrooms, facing each other is bad and may lead to arguments. I read somewhere that 3 doors forming…

Dear Cheui May, Here, it can be looked at as:- 1. Real or physical major renovations. 2. `Technical' "major" renovation. 3. Under a real or physical major renovation, this would imply renovations as a guideline which should be greater or equal to 33.3 percent of the entire area of the home. The removal of the entire roof of a house would automatically imply a major change of date of birth. 4. `Technical' "major" renovation. This is symbolic in nature and for example, the repainting of the roof or ceiling. 5. I believe, if one were to post the above to another forum, it may result in differences of opinion. 6. Here are some "safety" nets:- 6.1. As most Compass School FS …

  17. Dear Wendy, 1. Thank you for your drawing of your layout plan. 2. In terms of the Shapes and Form (position) of your table and office furniture layout it is acceptable. 3. However, can you elaborate more on the large piece of glass at the back of your chair? Are there any blinds or curtain behind you? Usually, it is not good Feng Shui to have a full height glass behind your desk as it implies no support. Or backing. In many of such situations, a back (side table) would normally be the most effective cure for a full height glass section behind you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some of the common notations on your case:- 1. Check your existing name or change of name: Some go to the extend of checking one's existing "Mandarin" name to see if it would help to benefit a person if there is a change of name or not. Here, I have mentioned that if one does not normally use one's "changed" name, then usually, not very practical to do so. For example, if we have a Christian name: of Christina, changing one's mandarin nameoften does not help in any way. Especially if the universal commerce language is English. 2. Under the Five elements concept, Fire fuels earth. Thus, there are varied interpretations such as going for a fire career or hav…

  21. 1. In the past, I had posted messages on living in a small room. 2. Under the outline of Chinese Metaphysics, the highest order is what is known as Tai-Ji. Below this level is the Yin and Yang concept. 3. Below the Yin and Yang Concept and if Eight House (Eight Mansions or also called Ba Cai) Feng Shui cannot be applied due to a small room, then the "higher" level Yin and Yang concept should be applied. 4. Here, Yang represents the day or bright or things equivalent to study, physical exercise. While Yin represents activities for relaxation and rest and sleep. 5. Especially for a student, which must have a balance between studies and sleep, many logically try to set a…

  23. Dear Angela, 1. Frankly, at a macro level, there should not be an issue on the design of an air regulator `based' on Feng Shui principles. 2. More importantly, it is the product and the shape is designed on the practical aspects of both incorporating it and how easily and cost effectively it can be produced / moulded. 3. For example, a split airconditionering looks almost the same for all models. Rectangular in shape, with removal filters. Air is circulated through the vents at the lower panels. 4. The only Feng Shui consideration is to avoid, where possible posion arrows e.g. sharp cornered objects. Where possible, edges should be rounded. Point no. 4 is the most importa…

Dear Marko, 1. One would rarely if ever find Chinese lanterns with symbols of `autumn' or `winter' as symbollically these are not suitable on Red Chinese Lanterns. 2. In fact, symbolism is important in Feng Shui and you can in-fact, use the globe Chinese lanterns (with spring and summer) all year round. And change them when their colour fade-out or their material worn out. Furthermore, red is considered an auspicious colour and can be used all-round the year. And it does not necessarily mean that during different seasons, one may have to change colour e.g. black or white = winter (colour). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hello. I hope someone will have the patient to read and help me as I'm kind of desperate. My flat has the front door opening South-West (241 degrees) and facing North-East. Rectangle shape (missing small part on South corner, near the door entrance). The rectangle flat diagonal (end near the entrance, on the missing part) is closest to the N-S direction.
