Hi Theresa, As long as it is not east or northwest, you should not worry too much. Plus, flying star's effect is still not as strong as the basic one. You just need to always keep a glass of water in your room. It can reduce the sharpness of the areas. Hope it helps. Siusiu http://www.siusiufengshui.com/

  2. Dear Angela, 1. Frankly, at a macro level, there should not be an issue on the design of an air regulator `based' on Feng Shui principles. 2. More importantly, it is the product and the shape is designed on the practical aspects of both incorporating it and how easily and cost effectively it can be produced / moulded. 3. For example, a split airconditionering looks almost the same for all models. Rectangular in shape, with removal filters. Air is circulated through the vents at the lower panels. 4. The only Feng Shui consideration is to avoid, where possible posion arrows e.g. sharp cornered objects. Where possible, edges should be rounded. Point no. 4 is the most importa…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there are four `sources' of such spirits: 1. Wondering imps. These imps, I believe are playful imps that perhaps are `attracted' to the home e.g. where they pass by a house, found the sound of the windchime. In my opinion, these are quite harmless, but can give nightmares to people. 2. Spirits or souls that could not rest easy. For example, they were brutally murdered, hanged or some other events of such nature. I believe, these spirits soul were not laid to rest and perhaps, the event somehow still continue to be `trapped' in the particular area. 3. The Seven Lunar Month. Since ancient times, the Chinese believed that during the first day to t…

  4. Dear Wendy, 1. Thank you for your drawing of your layout plan. 2. In terms of the Shapes and Form (position) of your table and office furniture layout it is acceptable. 3. However, can you elaborate more on the large piece of glass at the back of your chair? Are there any blinds or curtain behind you? Usually, it is not good Feng Shui to have a full height glass behind your desk as it implies no support. Or backing. In many of such situations, a back (side table) would normally be the most effective cure for a full height glass section behind you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  5. Dear Elena, 1. In terms of priority, beds are considered the least concern. For example, more concern should be placed on the position to the bed relative to the room. 2. Thus in my opinion, of secondary importance are the beds. However, as you have described, colour do represent the element. Thus, for a weak metal child, metal bed or an alternative e.g. white or bronze bed (the colour of metal element is white or gold). 3. It is still acceptable thou, to use neutral colours or other colours for the bed support. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Marko, 1. One would rarely if ever find Chinese lanterns with symbols of `autumn' or `winter' as symbollically these are not suitable on Red Chinese Lanterns. 2. In fact, symbolism is important in Feng Shui and you can in-fact, use the globe Chinese lanterns (with spring and summer) all year round. And change them when their colour fade-out or their material worn out. Furthermore, red is considered an auspicious colour and can be used all-round the year. And it does not necessarily mean that during different seasons, one may have to change colour e.g. black or white = winter (colour). Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Dear Esther, Usually, from a Feng Shui point of view, often, the bazi element of the person is matched with their bedroom colours. Overall, colours that often may have an impact on sickness is Bright Yellow and in some instances, Bright Yellow and Bright Red. In other instances, Bright Green is another colour to watch out. In general, safe colours are metallic colours or white or light pastel colours. Since the woodstove is black, blue is in my opinion (in general) still acceptable in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Please refer to your questions (below):- Q1 : Not found under Traditional Feng Shui. The fixed bagua template: Knowlege/Education area = a modern invention. No basis under Traditional Feng Shui models. Q2 : Generally no major concern other than if you intend to use especially colours like: BRIGHT RED, BRIGHT YELLOW or BRIGHT GREEN. Then, try to get a proper Feng Shui audit done to assess whether can or cannot use such colors. Q3 and Q4 : No too homes are the same. You may wish to consider get a Feng Shui audit done. Such as advise on where to place a fish tank. Quote: Will the extension extend our Knowledge/Education area or will we be creating missing Money/Wealth,…

    1. This is one of the most asked questions (for the past 10 years) of forum resources. Why don't you use your fingers to do a SEARCH. 2. First and foremost, there are sufficient info for these three "steps":- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Three-Step-Approach 3. It is also applied in a home:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on

Dear Anon, 1. Yes, this is a `strong' Chinese belief. 2. It is said that when one is pregnant, one should not move house or even change the bed position or any other furniture in the room. It is said that the consequence is to suffer a `miscarriage'. 3. I believe, in the past, there was no electricity and it could be (I am only guessing) that if one changes the position of furniture, and unwittingly, the wife (who is pregnant) may `accidentally ' bump into them or trip over them. Well, I am only guessing here of a `possible' senario. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Sorry this is only a Free General Advise forum. What you are asking is out of range of this forum: The test of posting to this forum is:Posting one'sDD/MM/YYYY of birth is already too specific to that person or individual. If so, it does not fall under GENERAL advice.

Dear Jarno, There are two concepts here which you need to get it clear:- 1. Eight House In terms of concepts, the best concept to apply in a micro environment (ie selection of suitable bedroom), we find that the Eight House concept where 4 good and 4 bad directions are used. This is a concept based on YEAR of birth. Even though, this is so, this is a simple yet effective method. But this will give a slight conflict to the Ba Zi in some cases. 2. Ba Zi Ba Zi uses the day, month, year of birth and even hour of birth, so is able to give you a better analysis. However, it also has its limitation in terms of direction. The direction factor in the ba zi is better used in …

These are some of the common notations on your case:- 1. Check your existing name or change of name: Some go to the extend of checking one's existing "Mandarin" name to see if it would help to benefit a person if there is a change of name or not. Here, I have mentioned that if one does not normally use one's "changed" name, then usually, not very practical to do so. For example, if we have a Christian name: of Christina, changing one's mandarin nameoften does not help in any way. Especially if the universal commerce language is English. 2. Under the Five elements concept, Fire fuels earth. Thus, there are varied interpretations such as going for a fire career or hav…

  14. 1. In the past, I had posted messages on living in a small room. 2. Under the outline of Chinese Metaphysics, the highest order is what is known as Tai-Ji. Below this level is the Yin and Yang concept. 3. Below the Yin and Yang Concept and if Eight House (Eight Mansions or also called Ba Cai) Feng Shui cannot be applied due to a small room, then the "higher" level Yin and Yang concept should be applied. 4. Here, Yang represents the day or bright or things equivalent to study, physical exercise. While Yin represents activities for relaxation and rest and sleep. 5. Especially for a student, which must have a balance between studies and sleep, many logically try to set a…

  15. Dear Carina, In Feng Shui, the compass direction North or 0 degrees is represented by the Water element. This is the rationale why many Feng Shui practitioners relate the link between water positions and water. `North' therefore refers to the true compass direction i.e. at 0 degrees. North therefore does not mean relative north positions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Here are some important points with regards to a pair of lions:- 1. Usually Feng Shui practitioners advise the use of lions - if it is for the home, at an inauspicious sector of the house. 2. Where possible the lions should face outwards of the house. 3. Lions placed in the house should not look too fierce or ferocious. They should look `peaceful' and happy. If they look fierce. They must never have their mouths face inside of the house. 4. Lions are used for:- 4.1 Either to ward off evil and /or 4.2 to bring in good luck into the house. 5. The common form of a pair of lions are made of stone. While those made of wood as what you have are often seen on roofs …

Dear Sandi, Thanks for your New Year wishes. In general, there are three levels of analysis:- 1. Shapes and Form School 1.1. For the main door, check that there is no poison arrows aimed at the door or through the windows. To look out for: - edges of buildings aimed at the main door or window. (Here, you need to stand at the main door entrance facing out of the house. Similiarly stand inside the house looking out of the windows). - check that there is no lone or single lampost e.g. slicing into the house. 1.2. Position of toilets - where possible the toilet is not at the centre of the house, next to the main door etc.. - avoid having the bed rest on the same wall as the …

Dear Anon, 1. In several past messages and in my Applied Feng Shui book, I mentioned several "methods" used such as by: 1. Shape of the Fish Tank 2. Number of fishes i.e. based on Kua or Yin and Yang (even or odd number of fishes) 3. Type of fishes etc.. 4. Color of the stand used at different sections of the home Thus, I would like to clarify that usually, I do not `advise' but rather highlight the various practises such as no. of fishes used either to relate to a person's Kua number. There are `pro and cons' in using various methods. For the no. of fishes, I had on a few occasions mentioned what happened if one's Kua number is 1. Does it mean that one has to resort to t…

Dear Peck Wun, Usually, in many instances, the auspicious time is based on: 1. phonetic sounding of the numbers. For example, common timing would include:- 8.x8 am where the time has an 8 (in Cantonese `Fatt' or auspiciousness) 8.x9 am where the time has a 9 (9 sounds like longevity). or 9.x8 am or 9.x9am The above timings are nice sounding and also:- 2. They are yang hours of the day. For example, the thing to do is to insert the key into the wooden main door and wait for such a time e.g. 8.28am or 8.29am and then once this is ok, open the door.... If you are moving in the afternoon, avoid moving in after 3.00pm. As this is considered closer to `Yin' timing. …

Dear JE, A sketch would be good to better understand the situation. However, based on your description: to me it seems ok since: 1. the stairs do not face the main entrance. 2. in Feng Shui, a straight staircase is not that good. But it looks like you mentioned that there are some turns or landing. If so, this is favourable under Feng Shui. To me, your staircase, therefore, don't seem to be a major issue under Feng Shui. Dear Laura, This is similiar to saying that the wealth sector falls in the toilet / storeroom area so I must work in that sector in order to benefit from it. (ie. bring a notebook into the toilet and work). Unfortunately, when wealth stars are located in certain sectors of the house that isn't fully utilise, there is very little that you can do to fully take advantage of it. Rather than trying to see how you can activate such stars that are trap in less useful sectors of the house, you might as well spend more time activating stars which you can benefit from or fixing other leaks in the home. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applie…

Dear Himai, Himai G wrote: I am a strong water person with wood influence. for control, i know i should use more 'earth' and 'wood' colors, items etc... what would help me for wealth? For a strong water person, fire element is your wealth element. So when you have sufficient balance of earth and wood element to balance your chart, then you want to have more fire element. Since five element can always be found around you, ie your home, your career, your colour, people around you. You can choose any area in your life to have some fire. ie say the colour of your car you can choose to have fire element. Or choose a career in sales/marketing which is fire element. You can re…

Dear Anon, Anon wrote: Hi, heard from some geomancer that it is not good to use a bed that has no legs because there is no path below the bed for air to flow through. Is this true? Yes, that is true. A commonsense reason why it is better to have bed with legs, is because it is far easier to keep the room clean if you have beds with beds as opposed to those box bed. This way, you can keep the floor clean and avoid any built up of dust/germs/bed bugs etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
