Dear Anon, Generally, if one does not want to go further into `Professional Feng Shui' e.g. using the Flying Star to analyse the birth chart of the house: 1. The Main Entrance Door & windows at the frontage of the house The Main Entrance Door is the most important door to be `protected' from poison arrows. Where possible, the edge of a building should not be aimed at the main entrance door. The best `test' is to stand at the main entrance and take alook at the area. There should not be a lone lamp post slicing thru the main door (like a knife slicing through butter) i.e. tangent to it or perpendicular to it. You should also stand inside the house looking out of the wi…

Dear Anon, So far, Lillian Too has a Chinese Numerology Book. It is quite difficult to digest thou as this is not one of her `best works'. In my opinion, she is better writing books on Shapes and Form books. One can enhance oneself by knowing the a person's birth element and strength. Sorry, I am not sure what is your question as we are usually moving around. Unless you are referring to constantly `facing' a poison arrow. I believe not much unless one try using more Yang than yin. E.g. brighter clothing. I am not sure how effective this is. If so, try to wear clothing that enhances your birth element e.g. weak water person can try to wear a blue clothing/shirt. W…

Dear Peck Wun, Usually, in many instances, the auspicious time is based on: 1. phonetic sounding of the numbers. For example, common timing would include:- 8.x8 am where the time has an 8 (in Cantonese `Fatt' or auspiciousness) 8.x9 am where the time has a 9 (9 sounds like longevity). or 9.x8 am or 9.x9am The above timings are nice sounding and also:- 2. They are yang hours of the day. For example, the thing to do is to insert the key into the wooden main door and wait for such a time e.g. 8.28am or 8.29am and then once this is ok, open the door.... If you are moving in the afternoon, avoid moving in after 3.00pm. As this is considered closer to `Yin' timing. …

Dear Elena, 1. In my opinion, textured walls are acceptable. 2. Over here, for the last 5 to 10 years, it also is very popular. It is also very good at detering lizards from climbing on them. 3. In the past, many buildings use rough surfaces (not noecessary sand blasting or textured walls). 4. Thus in my opinon, the textured surfaces is not a concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sophia, To clarify, what I mentioned is that they can share the same altar table, but separated or segmented. The elephant deity if it is immediately next to Guan Yin, should be lower height (if there is a stand) than Guan Yin sitting on her lotus leaf flower. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Yes, this is true because of two reasons: 1. If the weather looks dark, some consider it inauspicious to a FS audit. Furthermore, if it rains, this is not the best time of day to do the audit. 2. Lighting strikes. It can be quite dangerous standing on a piece of land and one may even be strike by lighting. Dear Anon, Frankly, for such a situation, there is no effective cure for it. The only possibility (but in your case cannot be done) is to have a flat ceiling. In instances such as what you mentioned and others such as toilet above the dining room etc... cannot be cured unless they are physically moved. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  10. Started by myfs_106529,

Dear JE, A sketch would be good to better understand the situation. However, based on your description: to me it seems ok since: 1. the stairs do not face the main entrance. 2. in Feng Shui, a straight staircase is not that good. But it looks like you mentioned that there are some turns or landing. If so, this is favourable under Feng Shui. To me, your staircase, therefore, don't seem to be a major issue under Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anon wrote: Hi, heard from some geomancer that it is not good to use a bed that has no legs because there is no path below the bed for air to flow through. Is this true? Yes, that is true. A commonsense reason why it is better to have bed with legs, is because it is far easier to keep the room clean if you have beds with beds as opposed to those box bed. This way, you can keep the floor clean and avoid any built up of dust/germs/bed bugs etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, 1. Yes, this is a `strong' Chinese belief. 2. It is said that when one is pregnant, one should not move house or even change the bed position or any other furniture in the room. It is said that the consequence is to suffer a `miscarriage'. 3. I believe, in the past, there was no electricity and it could be (I am only guessing) that if one changes the position of furniture, and unwittingly, the wife (who is pregnant) may `accidentally ' bump into them or trip over them. Well, I am only guessing here of a `possible' senario. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Thank you for the illustration. The second door you mentioned in the illustration seems to be a passage way rather than a door. As the doors are on the side, I cannot see any other doors directly facing your "always" opened office room door. Thus from a shapes and forms point of view, it is perfectly acceptable to have this type of arrangement. Furthermore, your office table is away from this passage way which is good and that you had mentioned that this is an excellent facing direction for you.

Dear Himai, Himai G wrote: I am a strong water person with wood influence. for control, i know i should use more 'earth' and 'wood' colors, items etc... what would help me for wealth? For a strong water person, fire element is your wealth element. So when you have sufficient balance of earth and wood element to balance your chart, then you want to have more fire element. Since five element can always be found around you, ie your home, your career, your colour, people around you. You can choose any area in your life to have some fire. ie say the colour of your car you can choose to have fire element. Or choose a career in sales/marketing which is fire element. You can re…

Dear Anon, 1. Chinese numerology and even any other numerology can be very confusing. This is because, there can be varied interpretation. And the same number can be considered auspicious but can also be interpreted as inauspicious. For example: a number such as 5. Some consider it auspicious because, 5 represents `balance' or the Five Elements concept. While others may view it differently e.g. Flying Star number which is inauspicious as it is also known as " misfortune " or Deadly Yellow or bad yellow star. 2. In Chinese numerology, the phonetic sound is equally important. Especially numbers like 4 represents " die " in Cantonese. While `8' represents `fatt' or prosperi…

Dear Wasis, Here are some important points with regards to a pair of lions:- 1. Usually Feng Shui practitioners advise the use of lions - if it is for the home, at an inauspicious sector of the house. 2. Where possible the lions should face outwards of the house. 3. Lions placed in the house should not look too fierce or ferocious. They should look `peaceful' and happy. If they look fierce. They must never have their mouths face inside of the house. 4. Lions are used for:- 4.1 Either to ward off evil and /or 4.2 to bring in good luck into the house. 5. The common form of a pair of lions are made of stone. While those made of wood as what you have are often seen on roofs …

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there are four `sources' of such spirits: 1. Wondering imps. These imps, I believe are playful imps that perhaps are `attracted' to the home e.g. where they pass by a house, found the sound of the windchime. In my opinion, these are quite harmless, but can give nightmares to people. 2. Spirits or souls that could not rest easy. For example, they were brutally murdered, hanged or some other events of such nature. I believe, these spirits soul were not laid to rest and perhaps, the event somehow still continue to be `trapped' in the particular area. 3. The Seven Lunar Month. Since ancient times, the Chinese believed that during the first day to t…

Dear Lisa, In my opinion, if one already does not have a water position at the back of the house, it is best not to have one. In general, under Feng Shui (Shapes and Form), it is not advantages to have water positions behind the house. This follows the concept that the back of the house should have a solid-backing. Dear Laura, This is similiar to saying that the wealth sector falls in the toilet / storeroom area so I must work in that sector in order to benefit from it. (ie. bring a notebook into the toilet and work). Unfortunately, when wealth stars are located in certain sectors of the house that isn't fully utilise, there is very little that you can do to fully take advantage of it. Rather than trying to see how you can activate such stars that are trap in less useful sectors of the house, you might as well spend more time activating stars which you can benefit from or fixing other leaks in the home. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applie…

Frankly, it is harder to reduce any harm that between two person by using yi. This is because, in terms of ba zi, a harm is where two animal signs conflict. And to neturalise such an effect, it is said you need a 3rd animal sign that helps to resolve the conflict. This is really hard to always have a 3rd party animal sign in order to create harmony. Thus, a better way is based on the two element of the ba zi. ie one is weak water another is strong wood. Therefore the binding ele…

Dear Jarno, There are two concepts here which you need to get it clear:- 1. Eight House In terms of concepts, the best concept to apply in a micro environment (ie selection of suitable bedroom), we find that the Eight House concept where 4 good and 4 bad directions are used. This is a concept based on YEAR of birth. Even though, this is so, this is a simple yet effective method. But this will give a slight conflict to the Ba Zi in some cases. 2. Ba Zi Ba Zi uses the day, month, year of birth and even hour of birth, so is able to give you a better analysis. However, it also has its limitation in terms of direction. The direction factor in the ba zi is better used in …

Dear Winters, I believe, that although you are `wood'; consideration should be: 1. If you are a STRONG wood person, this would be beneficial as metal (not just the sliding door) but the entire trailer is more `metal' helps to destroy wood, and neutralises the strong wood. If you are a STRONG wood person, the above is beneficial to you. Here, water element would be beneificial to constantly `replenish' the wood. Water element refers to the colour blue, grey or black of shades of it. However, if you are a weak wood person, you should use more of water element to help increase the wood element. (Here, water element should be "used" more than if you are a strong wood person)…

Anonymous wrote: if you have wood as an element, is that your wealth element as well? is ones wealth element the same as the element you get i.e. a horse with a wood element? Wealth element for your ba zi is defined as the element your self element destory. For example, a Wood person, Earth is the wealth element. For example, a Water person, Fire is the wealth element So for your case if you are a Wood person, then Earth element is your wealth element.
