Dear Yvonne, Feng Shui is a holistic approach. The two major schools of Feng Shui are used to look at a home. The two major Schools are: 1. Shapes and Form 2. Compass Schools: The Eight House Theory The Flying Star Theory You have to ask yourself this question " I want to install many mirrors because I geniunely liked them or is it because I have heard that `mirrors' are beneificial ". If it is `hearsay' information that mirrors are good for Feng Shui to bring Prosperity, then, it may not be the case. The cause for concern is `over-eating'. Even in Feng Shui, we should not try to add more than necessary. Logically speaking, a mirror serves a purpose i.e. to look at our im…

Dear Anon, 1. In general, without looking at the individual's Ba Zi information; 1st day of every Lunar month and 15th day of every Lunar month are considered good days. 2. Please check out www.geomancy-online.com as there is an auspicious date by month report with reference to a person. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Alicia, Alicia Tan wrote: If my wealth luck is againt me, what can I do to improve it? In general, most people either have big luck with them or against them. When luck is with you, things is likely to go in your favour whatever you do. If luck is against yoou, then things are likely not go favour you. There will always still be 5-yearly, yearly luck which will change in each period. So some years will be better others will not. In general, you will simply need to make sure that have more of your favourable elements that you lack. The more you have in as many areas of our life the better your overall luck. ie favourable colours/career/house/people around you etc. …

This layout plan is typical of some of the layout plan(s) found especially at the HDB Fernvale @ Sengkang (constructed 2 to 3 years ago). 1. Usually to hide the washing machine / drier many use the L shaped sink / stove . Some built a low "partition" at the kitchen side to block the view to the kitchen. 2. The greatest "concern" would be the main door - kitchen "door". 3. The toilet at the "centre" is the least of the problem. 4. More importantly, the most crucial is hopefully your apartment has favourable Flying star "numbers" - superimposed on the layout plan.

Dear Anon, 1. In several past messages and in my Applied Feng Shui book, I mentioned several "methods" used such as by: 1. Shape of the Fish Tank 2. Number of fishes i.e. based on Kua or Yin and Yang (even or odd number of fishes) 3. Type of fishes etc.. 4. Color of the stand used at different sections of the home Thus, I would like to clarify that usually, I do not `advise' but rather highlight the various practises such as no. of fishes used either to relate to a person's Kua number. There are `pro and cons' in using various methods. For the no. of fishes, I had on a few occasions mentioned what happened if one's Kua number is 1. Does it mean that one has to resort to t…

Dear Spring, I am not sure what u mean when you mentioned that the `Site said' this was a bad home address. This is because, if you are referring to the House Number Free Flying Star report at www.geomancy-online.com it mentions that the report is used to look at the vertical houses i.e. apartments/flats. The House Number Free Flying Star report cannot be used to look at landed properties. The Flying Star Theory can only look at horizontal levels. While Flying Star House Numbers for Apartments is used to look at it vertically as it is said that no house has the same FS on different levels. Appreciate, if you can check again. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, In general, it is good to understand the purpose of the eight house theory:- 1. The Eight House theory is usually used to look at locations where one spent the most time at. Thus, it is good that your sleeping direction is excellent. However, primary importance is given to the location where you spent most time at. Only after this has been looked at should one look at sleeping facing a good direction. 2. Spook is not as favourable but not as bad as death or disaster intangible force. 3. To find out how suitable the house is to a person, you can also look at the intangible force affecting the main entrance door sector. 4. Good facing directions. Sit facing a go…

Dear Sandi, Thanks for your New Year wishes. In general, there are three levels of analysis:- 1. Shapes and Form School 1.1. For the main door, check that there is no poison arrows aimed at the door or through the windows. To look out for: - edges of buildings aimed at the main door or window. (Here, you need to stand at the main door entrance facing out of the house. Similiarly stand inside the house looking out of the windows). - check that there is no lone or single lampost e.g. slicing into the house. 1.2. Position of toilets - where possible the toilet is not at the centre of the house, next to the main door etc.. - avoid having the bed rest on the same wall as the …

Dear Lionel, Seems like it is ok. As the toilet is not in the middle but rather close to it. At the ground floor, it is best that the toilet is not located at the frontage of a home. On the second storey, it is preferred that the toilet is not above the main entrance door. Generally, what you had described is pretty common for quite alot of homes and still acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carina, In Feng Shui, the compass direction North or 0 degrees is represented by the Water element. This is the rationale why many Feng Shui practitioners relate the link between water positions and water. `North' therefore refers to the true compass direction i.e. at 0 degrees. North therefore does not mean relative north positions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Orange colour because of it's close resemblance to literally an "orange" or a "mandarin" orange is considered as "gold" colour. And gold belongs to the range of metal elements. Thus, painting it orange, would be bright and colourful! More importantly, many toilets are in enclosed area and often not well lit. Thus, especially if we do have elderly at home or youngsters, it is still good to go for light pastel colours in a toilet. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Is it advisable to paint the bathroom orange if it is in the NE sector of the home? Dear Ken, Quote: Ken L. wrote: However in my four pillars, I have lots of water, in fact too much. Of course that makes me strong wood too but water becomes my unfavourable element. 1. In this case, you were derived as a strong wood person as the breakdown of your chart has lots of water. 2. As are a strong wood person, then your best colours are: 1. Fire (Red, pink or purple) 2. Hi Theresa, As long as it is not east or northwest, you should not worry too much. Plus, flying star's effect is still not as strong as the basic one. You just need to always keep a glass of water in your room. It can reduce the sharpness of the areas. Hope it helps. Siusiu http://www.siusiufengshui.com/

Dear Sheila, In my opinion, luck corners or `sector' Feng Shui or paying homage to corners are equally "non-existent' or unreliable / undependable situations. This is considered a modern invention is too general to be of use for many of us. You should treat the small figurine as a decor item in your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Based on your information, it is presently difficult to `pinpoint' how effective, Feng Shui can do at this time. 2. One think for certain is that: 2.1 Feng Shui can help to `reverse' some of the Earthly Luck of your home. 2.2 As for the office, as you mentioned that your investment is overseas, it is difficult to do Feng Shui by "remote control." Usually, an audit has to be conducted at the office premises. 2.3 As you mentioned that both of you have present jobs, one way is to `enhance' each individual by using the Pillars of Destiny i.e. looking at the element and its strengths. 3. Currently, between (divided) amongst ourselves we are currently helping many…

Dear Hoa Luong, Please note that Chinese Astrology books usually provide you the element based on Year of birth. For example, if a child is due or born on or after 12 February 2002; i.e. if the child is born on 13 March 2002; then he/she is considered as born under the Year of the FIRE Horse. Pillars of Destiny not only consider just the YEAR of birth. A simple Pillars of Destiny chart also consider a person's MONTH, DAY & TIME of Birth. Here, for example, the month could be water element; Day - wood element etc... and If one understands carefully each `pillar' i.e. Year, Month, Day and Time of birth has what is known as heavenly stem and earthly branch. And as …

Dear Wasis, 1. Becareful of the placement of dragon figurine or painting. 2. Check the number of claws on it. If there are five, then, it is considered very `yang'. Here, one is not familiar with the dragon (figurine or painting) - one should treat it more like `Ba Gua mirror' and not face inwards of the house. 3. In Hong Kong, it is said that it has nine dragons. Dragon landscape or dragon qi is usually coming from e.g. a hill or landscape and winding down a river or from a hill down to the `sea'. In Hong Kong, a hotel had created an opening from the back thru the glass panels into the sea. Another good example, is `The Sterling' condominium in Singapore. ( Do a search f…

Dear Anon, To be truly honest, it is best for you to consider seeking professional FS advise on this. This is because even for the kitchen, considerations like which part (compass direction) is the kitchen located. For the kitchen, things like certain locations e.g. NW (fire at heaven's gate), kitchen fitting the spouse etc.. have to be considered. Thus, it may sound simple, but these are some of the issues. If no major renovation is done, things like placing mirror(s) in the kitchen are some of the alternatives, used. Besides this, the kitchen may or may not be the direct or major cause of the problem(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Based on general rat horoscope signs, then you can refer to this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/astrology/astro/crat.htm Which means Rat / Dragon / Monkey horoscope signs should generally be better match. As for the "red" rat, I presume you are refering to a Fire rat? If so, that depends on whether you are a weak fire or strong fire rat. The best element compatibility depends on for weak fire, would be like wood/fire. So when you put together with your favourable horoscope, it can wood/fire dragon or wood/fire monkey for example. Dear Nina, 1. One option is to acquire mosquito larvae granules, which can be found at various plant nurseries throughout the island. The cost for a bottle or packet ranges from S$3.50 to S$4.50. 2. A single tablespoon of these granules can sustain for several weeks. 3. Regarding fish: There are numerous interpretations concerning the quantity of fish: 1. The concept of Yin and Yang suggests that water is associated with Yin (softness). Yin is also symbolized by even numbers such as 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc. To achieve balance in a fish tank, it is recommended to have an odd number of fish, as odd numbers represent Yang. This creates a harmonious presence of both …
