Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: So I thought of hanging a Convex mirror at theroom window but there is no space above the windowto hang the mirror. Could I still place the mirror at top of the window. So far I didn't see an attached drawing. However, there should be no issue hanging the mirror at the top of the window instead of the above the window. As long as precaution are made to prevent the mirror from dropping down. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Jace, To be honest, some Chinese who in one way or another if told of their favourable and unfavourable colours would tend to dwell in being more cautious when choosing a vehicle colour. Personally, I do share the same sentiments. And have always tried to choose a car colour that suits me. However, I hope you understand this is honestly more of a "personal-thing" and how much we personally either being "influenced" by it. For weak metal persons, based on the Five elements concept, yes, black = water may not be as suitable as a "metal" element colour or "earth" colours. On a scientific level, (Not Feng Shui); previously, there were some insurance studies that show…

Dear Rebecca, 1. I hope you can understand that it is difficult for me with this general information to give you any advise. 2. Perhaps, you can check out for any practitioners in your area. 3. For a SE facing home, it also depends on the age of the home ( 1984 to 2003 = Period 7; 1964 to 1983 = Period 6 or earlier home). In addition, the individual layout of your home especially the bedroom / kitchen etc... has to be considered also. Best of Luck!

  6. Dear Anon, 1. Yes, it is good feng shui to have the kitchen share an external wall. 2. It can be the wash basin. 3. `Rooms' that do not share an external wall would imply that they are somewhere in the interior of the house (not necessary centrepoint) but somewhere in the `interior'. This applies to other `four walled' rooms such as a bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Dear Sudarshan, Usually, the belief is that the flow of Qi should be `slowed' down in a horizontal passage. Depending on the width of the passage-way, potted plants could be placed on either side of the passage. The size of plants / pots depends on the passage way. If the passage way is too narrow, then, small potted plants can be used. The pots can be alternate to each other and the number of potted plants depends on the length of the passage-way. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angie, 1. For the front door (main entrance); if a lamp post looks like `slicing' thru it, then this is a `sha qi' or poison arrow. 2. One can apply the `triangle effect' by placing two plants on both sides of the main entrance. By doing so, symbolically the two plants with the lamp post forms a `triangle'. With the point (lamp post) pointed towards the neighbour's home. 3. Another option is to place a semi-cicular rug outside the main entrance (radiating outwards). Preferably the carpet should be red. As red represents the fire element and will help destroy or neutralise a METAL lamp post. Please note that if the lamp post is made of a wooden post (WOOD) element the…

  11. Started by elena,

Dear Elena, 1. Overall, this `area' comes under the concept of Yin and Yang and the NE (Devil's gate) and SW (Devil's back door). 2. The type of tree is also very important here: 2.1 Look at the tree. Does the tree i.e. the leaves branch out and occupies a large diameter of the location e.g. does it create such a large `foot print' that the area below the tree is one `big' darken area. Where possible the tree should not create too yin an environment (below it). The larger the foot print, it is less ideal. Particulary if it is too close to the house. 2.2 It would not be auspicious for the tree to be at the compass direction NE or SW. Some of us may not believe in spirits b…

Dear Anon, 1. It is interesting to find out the survey results on the following question:- 2. Are you comfortable sleeping facing a TV set (mirror)? A short simple 3 questions survey. 3. The results of the above survey can be found under this URL:- http://www.geomancy.net/polls/ (The third last question on the above polls menu). 4. From what you had mentioned, this need not necessary be considered as `poison arrows'. Some of us may be `immune' to or are not affected by the `reflection'. While others may be affected by it. 5. Perhaps, you may like to ask yourself the following question:- "Am I able to sleep comfortably with it there (the closet mirror)?" If you either fee…

Dear Sophia, I am not to clear whether pumpkin (American slang) is similar to the local use of the term melon. But, if what your friend had displayed, locally in Singapore we call this "pumpkin" melon instead. Some call it golden melon because of it's colour. Usually, much like the mandarin oranges or "kum"; this is the phonetic sound like "Gold" for the Cantonese dialect group. Thus, exchanging a pair of mandarin oranges is like exchanging gold for the Cantonese. Thus, an orange melon also has the look of "gold" and in my opinion, perhaps, more readily associated with the Cantonese. And during the new year period, this melon or pumpkin? has been marketed to sell …

Dear Anon, Please see below:- In my opinion, this has to do more with `beliefs' than Feng Shui. Perhaps, I need to side track abit:- Overall, the most popular `bird' is the mystical bird i.e. Phoenix. In Chinese culture, a wedding card will inevitably have a phoenix (representing) female and dragon (male) symbol representing this union of couples. The other more popular symbolic birds are: the egale, pheasant, swallow, crane and magpie. Now coming to `birds'. Sorry, if sound crude but the Mandarin worn for bird or `niao' is `penis'. (Once again, apologies - but this is true!) There was a time when Nissan cars came up with a model called " Blue Bird ". Here, many Chin…

Dear Anon, You can use the free House Number report under http://www.geomancy-online.com to find out if the number is favourable or not. Dear Anon, Happy New Year to you! Please see below:- This common denominator can be related in many of the concepts - in particular i.e. ' Flying Star Feng Shui and Pillars of Destiny. There are many Feng Shui practitioners and in my opinion, I feel that some of these practitioners may not `live' up to the standard. Thus, the end result is that many people become disillushioned with it. In addition, I personally feel that many people are also to be blamed. The rationale is unfortunately " greed ". I can understand money is important but, when we depart our hard-earned money to buy or enhance a sector, this can become worrisome. Or to buy e.g. a three-legged toad. For…

Sorry to trouble you again because i don't really understand what you mean by "do not face the stairs".My staircase is split into 2 - the first sectiongoes up to an empty space, then the empty space turns180? to the second section. Iam placingthe sword at this empty space, i.e. People will see the sword as they look in front when walking up or down the stairs. Is this considered facing the stairs? should this be avoided. I also read from an article that the sword should be placed in a direction to give the owner an advantage, is there any direction (e.g. North, South, East, West) the sword should or should not face? Thank you!

  21. Dear Mr. Lee, In the flying star report, it is stated as follows: Mountain Star is found in the front of the house, while Water Star is found at the back of the house. This is deemed inauspicious unless there is water at the back and mountain in front to reinforce this formation. Can I create mountain in the front and water at the back myself? What would you recommend to rectify the situation. Thank you in advance.

Dear Liz, 1. When using a dragon, allow it to have a straight path between the dragon and the poison arrow. For example, it should not be aimed at the poison arrow in the path of the work desk to the poison arrow. 2. The dragon was given to me as a gift and I merely use to, in my opinion, I found it effective against poison arrow. As it is a wooden dragon, it is hard to find it. Usually, most common are crystal or metal (gold plated) dragons. At the same time, I have curtains on both sides. The poison arrow, at my home is diagonal and not directly slices the home balcony. 3. In my opinion, you can use the small dragon pointed at the poison arrow. Where possible, if you h…

  24. Started by song,

Dear Song Kin San, Frankly, you can choose any of the 4 good directions. It does not really matter which belongs to which direction as best or not. As long as you sit face one of your good direction, you will enjoy luck from your suitable direction. Of course, we try to assoicate which type of sector is best for which. So for bedroom or sleeping position, obviously it is best for the health or longevity. However, it won't be wrong even if you choose to have your bed facing prosperity etc. Hope that helps.
