Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply. You've been a great help. The "Matt" finishing on glass is not common tho we would endeavour to obtain it. Also, where would you advise on placing a water feature in the home?? We are planning to get one plus some indoor plants. What kind of plant would be good asides from the "money plant"? These are some considerations: 1. Some "Feng Shui" related issues have more to do with common sense then Feng Shui itself. 2. For example, 2 years ago, I remembered meeting a client who just bought a re-sale HDB flat. 3. We climbed the stairs and he went towards his unit. Apparently, his unit's fully shiny chrome grille gate. 3.1 He had a fright as thought he saw a figure - (himself) and he got a "shock". 4. What you mentioned, is similar. Sometimes, we suddenly see an image "in the home" after opening the door. The image could actually be one's mirror image. 5. Thus, majority of the time; this is one of the main "concern". For some, it is not an issue.

Dear Joanna, Mirrors are said to reflect qi. In general, usually it is not advisable for the mirror to face directly the bathroom door. The believe here is that it may reflect out what was inside the toilet. More commonly, it is ok to place it at the side of the door. E.g. when one enters the toilet, it is on the right or left side. Dear Sor Lan, Frankly, not sure whether, the ship sails "into" or "out-of" is a sure way to get more money. For sure, the seller of the ship, would instead be garanteed of some profit selling it to us. Anyway, under symbolism, in my opinion, if your ship is laden with gold ingots, I would have to say that it is best to sail "to port" or face inwards to your home. Here, wealth is suppose to come in. On the other hand, if the ship is empty, than, "let it set sail outwards" or pointed out of the home. Although some books say that a mirror facing a bed is no good, but, often, this may not be exactly true in the REAL WORLD. For example, in the past, I had given this senario: 1. OK. Dear Susan, Most likely both of you are conscious about the the mirror above your bed. The best is to buy an opaque film, cut out the profile or outline, first. And if you know how to D.I.Y. simply, clean the mirror first, and then add a bit of soap into a spraying bottle, and spray the water onto the mirror. Once done, just paste the film and use a tool e.g. like a credit card or atm card to smooth the surface. (Do remember to use some cloth to collect the spilled water. As I understand it a mirror in the bedroom is also bad because of the energyflow it may reflect on to the bed while you are sleeping. This I have gotten from master Lam Kam Chuen?s books witch almost i my only source of feng shui knowledge. While the chi energy flow is hard to prove it exist its the closest to a scientific explanation i know (I look quite scientific on feng shui myself).

Dear Sandra, There are two issues here: 1. A mirror facing a window. 2. Whether the wall or the location around the wall is auspicious or inauspicous. Usually, it is best not to have a mirror facing a window. But this depends on how far away the mirror is. The rationale behind this is that if this is the frontage of your house, it is best to allow natural lighting flow into the house. If there are poison arrows outside the house, it would most likely reflect into the house onto the mirror and cause `twice' the problem as a mirror image has been created within the house.
