Dear Arthur, 1. In general, a Metal Rat (born say in 1960) is already 43 years old. And a Fire Horse is often 1 year younger. 2. Many years ago, the most common thing is for us to read either Chinese astrology or Western zodiac signs. 3. Many of these readings may create "auto-suggestion". What we read, we may (concious or unconciously) act out the profile. Worse still, the idea of a "self-fulfilling prohercy" 4. Contrary to what one may thing, one has to look at the destructive cycle of the five elements:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm In fact, the destructive cycle is about wealth production. 5. For example: Wood gets nurishment from the Ea…

Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: I came across one of your articles which seemed to say that it is not quite good to have a bedroom above the kitchen. I'm not sure why but my new master bedroom happens to be above the kitchen. What shall I do? Yes. The reason behind it is simple. Since the kitchen is below the bedroom, the likelyhood of a fire to start under the kitchen would be very much higher. As such becomes a pontential danger to the people sleeping above. The most simple and practical way to solve this threat is to install smoke detectors. This will at least alert you in case of such a situation. 4. Dear Elena, 1. It is not necessary to turn on the lamp 24 hours a day. This is most uneconomical. 2. The best alternative is to use red or purple to represent the fire element. 3. I do not recall, using the red thread on its own. A red thread is used to control the cure of using 6 coins. Where the red thread is used to control the big metal. (Not let it out of control). 4. Quite effective is to use objects that are red. For example a table lamp with a red shade. (Purple is acceptable but red is the best). "Imaginative" but effective cures include disply Coca Cola cans etc.. The size should effective be the size of at least 4 coca cola cans or a reasonable sized (regular)…

  5. Dear Himanshu, You should follow the graphical representation as shown below:- When a direction is WEST, you should read it as this way depending on where you are applying it:- 1. Working direction you should be in the position where WEST is your front while EAST is your back. 2. Sleeping position, is where you head is pointing to the WEST and feet to the EAST. 3. Bedroom location where the room is located to the WEST of the house. You can make use of the several bedroom location, bed direction, work direction and study direction free reports in the My FengShui section to help you determine these directions. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

    1. Sorry to hear about it. 2. More importantly, the new burial site - if any is very important. However, if cremation - this is considered neutral. 3. Other than the above; what can change is one's earth luck: Feng Shui for the living (one's home Feng Shui and office Feng Shui are very important) factors.

Dear Ken, Please see below:- The main purpose of Feng Shui is to deflect beneificial qi (or air movement) to allow it to meander and circulate within the house. Often a Shapes and Form practitioner will `mentally' look at this flow. And it would be good that such qi or air can slower meander within or circulate within the confines of corners especially in the living dining (since most houses have both `connected' together). It is an advantage that qi can (especially) if a partition added, help to `move' qi thru the centre flux towards other rooms (for a rectangular layout) and vice versa. The best solution therefore is: 1. To use a screen or partition which should pre…

Dear Health, In my opinion, your husband can proudly display his military service combat medals in: 1. If their is a study room or a visitors room, it can be placed in a display. 2. Alternatively, they can be placed in a specially constructed `picture' frame and mounted on a wall - conversation piece. 3. Usually, the thing to avoid is the placement of e.g. an officer's sword especially having it face the main entrance. Similarly, in my opinion, it is best not to let the medal display face directly towards the main entrance. Otherwise, it can be placed even in the living room area e.g. in a display cabinet. More importantly, it should be placed especially, from your husban…

Dear Margie, A rectangular bedroom is good. Please see below:- You may still have the bed face the door. But avoid the `coffin position' where one's feet directly faces the bedroom door. This is where the whole body is parallel with the wall and when one enters the bedroom door, see the entire peron's feet and body in a straight line. Otherwise, it is still acceptable for the bed to be facing the bedroom door. It should be that our head should be able to look at the bedroom door and see who is coming in. Yes, you can have the dresser with mirror placed along the side of the bed. And not let it face any part of the bed. This is considered acceptable. Warmest Regar…

Five element should be considered under these two scenario:- 1. as a Weak Metal, it means that you generally lack Earth and Metal, thus you are weak. Water and Fire are generally unfavourable for you because they make you weaker. While Wood is your wealth but as a weak metal you are not effectively able to control it. Dear Anon, In my opinion, house numbers are not really based on Feng Shui but numerology. However, within numberology, there are many (many) types of formulas. Sometimes it does not even go into forumlas or methods but simply, the phonetic sound `like'. It is my believe that, if I were to look for a home, my first consideration is location, location and location. I apologise for writing location x 3. But seriously, location is the most single factor that has an impact in Feng Shui and affects our luck. If I were to buy the house, if the house has excellent, good or even average FS, I do not mind buying the house with the no. 2506. Usually, in Asia, where the weekly purcha…

Dear Evamarie, 1. Usually, there is not much cure (if any) for such a ceiling. 2. If the ceiling is not sloping but curved or semi-circular (rounded), this is still acceptable). 3. For the bed, a poster bed where one hangs e.g. a `canopy' or lace or cloth above it is one method of neutralising it. Otherwise, there is really not much can be done. The higher the ceiling, the better it is. Or the effects are considered lesser. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  18. Dear Anon, I have thought about this issue many times and I feel that it is quite `unethical' to do so... even when I was tempted to do so. Previously, although I had analysed several dates... "fortunately ' or unfortunately", the date of birth did not materialise as the birth was natural. I would at this point in time not make such analysis available. Hope you understand. Overall, for general info, for such an analysis; it would usually involve:- 1. analysing especially the parent's Ba Zi. 2. The child's ba zi. Sorry, I am not able to help you in this area. I do not want to be seemed to play / temper with one's destiny. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The resource is available under the conference: Info: Feng Shui Tips & guidelines. The posting is: 'Protective' Main Entrance Floor tile. Or do a SEARCH in this forum for Main Entrance Floor tile. 3. In addition, if the sharp pointed pillar is in your home, is it possible to e.g. grow a creeping plant on it. 4. The next best alternative is check what this pointed pillar is made of? 5. Dear Mr Teng, Usually, this is considered as an issue but in an apartment as you had mentioned below, not possible to relocate it. For Feng Shui problems, often, there are two or more major flaws within a home to cause us problems. Thus on it's own, it is still acceptable. But if there are more issues in a home, it will add to the problems. Try to make sure that there are if possible, no other major issues in a home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Imagine, if this is true:- 1. All Geomancers will be "shaking their legs" while waiting for the beginning of lunar new year! 2. In fact, some people were told to have their premises reviewed "Yearly"! This will be sweet news to the ears of every Geomancer! 2.1 Thus imagine, if a geomancer has 500 new clients every year! And if 50 percent of the 500 new clients asked for their home to be reviewed yearly or even ever 3 years! If we accumulate this 500 to every year of geomancer's service, he will be rich beyond the wildest dream! 3. Thus have anyone heard that a Geomancer only works in the beginning of the year and like bears hibernate the rest of the period? Yes / No?…

  22. So sorry, this is beyond this forum. As lots of time and effort needs to determine, plot, review If Feng Shui is to be applied correctly, one has to plot the Flying Stars and try to either disarm the bad stars or enhance the sectors. For lawsuits: if one can determine correctly the bad flying star number(s) especially: #3, one can use or place a 24 hours light at that specific sector to disarm it. Thus if there are any imbalances in your home; the Flying stars are often used. Your personal kua number: has more to do with how suitable the home; namely your best directions.

Dear Aj, 1. For a dining room table, it should not be placed against a solid wall. 2. This is because, placing such a table would not be good for social interaction of the family members. 3. In the Gua (Kua concept), one can see an arrangement of the various family member's position at the dining table i.e. father, mother, eldest son, youngest son, middle son, eldest daugther, youngest daughter and middle daughter. 4. For the couch it should also be arranged to allow for social interaction. The usual shape is to form a `circle/rectangle' around say the coffee table. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  25. Started by joy2312@hotmail.com,

Dear Joy, In my opinion, `corner' theories or concepts are usually not used in more professional Traditional Feng Shui practises. Paying `homage' to a corner is not an ideal way to apply Feng Shui. Usually, this is too general to be of any use to anyone. I believe the proper way is to increase one's Luck by looking at Feng Shui from a holistic way i.e. priority goes to Shapes and Form and the use of Compass School methods. Look at it this way: How are we to know that the SW is always the `commitment' area of a location or house? Even if it is for some of us, it cannot be the commitment area for ALL of us. Warmest Regards, Cecil
