These are some considerations:- 1. Never save on getting proper expert advise. 2. Usually, you should start from the exterior e.g. imagine how rain falls on the property and how it drains OUT of the home. This can affect the wealth and/or power authority or even range from loss to misfortune if not done properly. Anonymous wrote: Is itok to put the stairs or the toilet/shower areain the north sector? Dear Vicki, Please see below:- 2. This is because, what was briefly mentioned as South = five yellows, belongs to the Flying Star Theory. 3. But Flying Star Theory, goes further than this simplistic view. 4. Each home falls under one of the 24 mountains (or we call this 24 compass directions). 5. Usually, the relationship of the mountain and water stars are looked at inrelation to the base number. And not in isolation. This 20 year period is then looked at in relation to the Flying Star of the house, for this year. 6. The problem with Fixed Template Feng Shui either based on the `Black hat Sect' or fixing a location such as SW the romance corner is not often reli…

  3. Dear Major Sono, 1. Yes, in Feng Shui, one has also to rank the importance of the various concepts and theories. 2. In general, without looking into detail, the layout plan viz-a-viz things like the location of the main entrance, toilet locations, it would be good to have the President's office located at a `solid' location protected behind by e.g. walls ... 3. Thus you are not wrong to say that an office or room should be diagional to the main door. In addition, the placement of the table in relation to shapes and form is best. 4. Only after the above is `satisified' then you see if you have the luxury of facing a good location i.e. `nice to have'. But not compulsory. Wa…

Dear Denise, Generally, the fish tank is placed in a `water' star position (Under the Flying Star Theory). Not to sound too technical, usually, without doing detailed FS assessment, the acceptable locations is in the living room area (where there is clear space i.e. water star position. Water star implies flat space so for the living room area, generally, it should have low furniture area and acceptable for water position. But since this is a fish tank, it has to be against a wall especially in the living room. Since the toilet already has a water position, it is still acceptable to keep the fish tank in your case in the toilet provided it is reasonable size to accomodate…

My house number is #09-104 (Period 7), facing SouthWest. Thanks for your advise. Not to worry about the flying star analysis results for house number. The flying star number analysis only helps to tell you whether the unit is considered auspicious or not compared to another unit above or below you. Basically, that is about all. That analysis will only happen if the stars of the sector contains the mountain star is 6 and the water star 2. So I won't …

Dear Betsie, Do check out this page: http://www.geomancy.net/polls/ And check out this poll: Are you comfortable sleeping facing a TV set (mirror)? A short simple 3 questions survey. I indicated that there is no right or wrong answers to this. Some of us feel perfectly normal with a mirror in the bedroom (e.g. facing the bed) while others may feel uncomfortable. Do check the feedback from other uses on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, If you are staying above ground i.e. > 3nd storey or even 2nd storey, there is little impact on you from the garden/garden fence. Since the fence is normally not enclosed or closed-up, the ventilation into the ground is still acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Aj, 1. For a dining room table, it should not be placed against a solid wall. 2. This is because, placing such a table would not be good for social interaction of the family members. 3. In the Gua (Kua concept), one can see an arrangement of the various family member's position at the dining table i.e. father, mother, eldest son, youngest son, middle son, eldest daugther, youngest daughter and middle daughter. 4. For the couch it should also be arranged to allow for social interaction. The usual shape is to form a `circle/rectangle' around say the coffee table. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Pam, Yes, this is one option. But from past experience, it may not be that effective especially with regards to the Flying Star Feng Shui. Since, often, the facing direction is the frontage and the sitting is directly opposite this. It has more to do with the Eight House theory. Where, we can kill two birds with one stone. For example, if the main door is at NE. Tilting it, to the favourable direction of the breadwinner is good - chiefly if we apply Eight House theory. For Flying Star Feng Shui, often, it is the location with most light or wind activity - and this is where we should determine where the "mouth" of the house is based on where the entire plot is "fac…

Dear Tonya, Usually, in selecting the home, emphasis must be placed on several *IMPORTANT* factors: 1. You should try to evaluate each house and their Shapes and Form. It is not good if the facing direction of the door is a good direction for you or your husband but subsequently, there is a major flaw in the Shapes and Form of the house. 2. Flying Star. There is an optional report under www.geomancy-online.com where it will advise you on all 24 directions of the Flying Star in relation to your Eight house. The Flying Star analysis tries to find a house with a good `Birth chart'. While the Eight house is to determine how suitable the house is to you. 3. Thus it is not so s…

Dear Aiyoo, Please see below:- Unfortunately, there is not much one can do that is not so obvious. However, under the Five Elements concept, Fire element can be used to neutralise metal. Here, e.g. a red packet with $2 can be hung below the lighting. But this can be quite obvious as it can be seen. Alternatively, if you have a PC monitor, you can alternatively place this on it or on your desk. One should not clutter the table unncessarily especially, if the motive is for `Feng Shui'. But if you do have some interesting or some other decor that you really, really like, by all means. Warmest Regards, Cecil In the past, we use to broadcast as a backup to another …

Dear Erika, 1. Frankly, there are two `ways' at looking (placement of a mirror). 2. Some would do some Feng Shui analysis e.g. using Compass School i.e. especially using Flying Star to analyse whether a sector is auspicious or inauspicious. 3. If the sector is inauspicious, it is not ideal to place a mirror e.g. on the wall of this inauspicious sector as it is considered bad luck as it may bounce back twice the bad luck. 4. In your case, since we are fully applying the above concepts; you may have to rely on your instincts or feelings. If you personally feel nice having a mirror in the room; do so. 5. For the mirror, it would be good as you had mentioned to keep (at least…

    1. Usually it is difficult to provide an exact comment based simply on several lines of text. 2. You mentioned that the door is NW. Do a search under this forum and you can find discussions or concerns of a kitchen located within NW. 3. Usually a picture of the ocean on the wall is not good for Feng Shui of the kitchen unless: the kitchen is located in the South compass direction of a home. In general it is worse off if the picture is located in the North compass direction of a home. If in doubt, remove it, first. 4. Frankly, it is never good to do just piecemeal or "fast food" feng shui as many other considerations such as drawing up a Flying Star chart; knowing you…

Dear Carlos, In the future, it is best not to use all CAPs. Although you may not be aware, CAPs imply shouting. Please see below:- If the cabinet goes along the facade of the wall, there should no longer be any poison arrow to worry about. THE SECOND. HAVE I DONE Most probably, after next lunar year (after Year of the Horse) you do not need an extra six coins). For the mirrors, do check whetehr the sector is auspicious or inauspicious. If it is inauspicious, it is est not to place a mirror on either sides as it may bounce back twice the bad luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Yes, I know of some FS practitioners are selling them. 2. Frankly, the eight rod wind chime is a modern invention. 2.1 The reason why I call this a modern invention is because, the Chinese dialect group Cantonese, likes the phonetic sound of `8' or Fatt, or prospertiy. 2.2 Because of this connotation, the trend or fad for the eight rod wind chime started or originated from Hong Kong. 2.3 Locally, I believe some FS practitioners also `catch' on with this. Not so much of its proper use but rather, in my opinion, a profit element. 2.4 Imagine, the cost price of such items can be as low as a few dollars.
