Dear Elena, 1. Yes, you are quite right. Money plants comes in small, medium or large plants. Small plants merely have roots and can grow in a small bowl filled with water. Smooth rocks are placed to hold the plants. Here, the money plant does not look like it has vines. 2. It is more a western concern, I believe that plants do not have vines rather than Chinese belief. I believe there is no issue. Perhaps, you can let us know who mentioned the statement or perhaps, the author or the book. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Since your problems were related or felt to be related to the fish tank, in my opinion, it is best that you do away with the Fish tank. In Feng Shui, fish tank(s) are often used as a cure and not an enhancer. Enhancers include pretty large fountains etc... Other than the above, some consider rearing fish as a hobby. Under Pillars of Destiny, if one's element is a weak fire or strong water person; then it is best to avoid a fish tank in the home:- 1. It can further extinguish a weak fire person's element. 2. It is not favourable to a strong water person. In the I-Ching, water signifies `difficulty' and it may cause difficulty for some people. Warmest Regards, Ce…

Dear Florida, In my opinion, you can consider this (ceramic money tree with children on it) as a decorative piece. For this decorative piece, since it does not have any major significance associated with a specific deity/god, feel free to place it anywhere you personally feel comfortable with. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thanks for the response. I plan on putting the tree in the corner of the yard away form the house not in direct view of the door or window. I understand that if you take care of the tree it will take care of you it is a matter of time. Can you enlighten me more on the subject. -- GLENETTA SOLOMON More importantly, when planting a tree, avoid having it slice thru-into any of the windows of the home or the main door. A test of this is to stand inside the home i.e. at the window looking out or the main door. The lone tree should not be in direct view of either of the windows or main door. If not, it ends up as a threat to the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil Copyright …

There is a stagnant corner of my bedroom where I grow orchids by the east window. This corner is also the wealth section of the room. One of the orchids had died and I neglected to get rid of it. During this time, money had become scarce and I found my wallet constantly empty. I threw out the dead plant and placed a small water feature in the corner. Not a day later, my started to pile up. It was a wonderful transition.

Dear Anon, Feng Shui and other Chinese divinity methods is all about trying to improve one's luck. It is a holistic method of trying to improve luck in many areas:- 1. Feng Shui For example 1.1 Shapes and Form 50 marks 1.2 Eight House Theory 10 marks 1.3 Flying Star Theory 40 marks ------------------------ Total 100 marks ======================== Like mathematics, we should try to improve the above luck. 2. Some of us look to sector Feng Shui to improve our luck and simply concentrate on this only. Thus if for example, it comes under Flying Star Theory and the total marks allocated to it is 40 marks. If there are 9 sectors in the home, this means that 4…

Dear Anon, The most effective placement of such stones (which are object of mass) can be at locations where The Flying Stars are Mountain Star #8 sector(s). Or especially if the sector has mountain star #1. Not ideal to place it at sectors that have Water Star #1 or Water Star #8. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I bought5 beautiful stone ignots from Mongolia, each representing the 5 elements. I am a Strong Fire Snake and will this have an effect on placement of the stone ignots.

    1. Usually weak metal(s) #7 can be neutralised by water element. 2. Do take note that if that sector has a #3 (bad wood) in combination with #7 then, it would not be adviceable to use water in that sector. As water will further fuels bad wood #3. (#3 is quarrels, conflicts, scandals, lawsuits) 3. Thus usually if the sector has the #3, water would be worse. This may explain why someone may try to use earth, perhaps, that person felt it is better to disarm bad wood with earth.

Dear Nansi, The key to understanding this is based on the following:- Grand Duke does not like to be:- 1. Disturbed. Here one should not do construction work at the location. This includes repairs and renovations. 2. Touched. Here, this would imply that painting is consider `touching' him. So, based on the second point, please don't paint the walls on the East. Dear Brenda, Frankly, my new house is also peach (or rather cream coloured). I find it quite a chore to have it repainted to my favourite colour - netural white. So long as these colours are bright - creating more a yang (bright) look, it is still acceptable. As to whether to place 6 coins, in my opinion, there is no harm to do so. On the other hand, I would rather, check to see if any family members have frequent bouts of sickness. If so, it would be better to place the 6 coins in the same room for family members that frequently get ill. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil, Some observations led me to ask you that questions. Here is real life example. A family has 2 daughters and has the SE totally missing. Now the eldest daughter is WEST group and the younger one is EAST group. In this case rather than affecting the elder daughter the younger daughter has a tough life physically and mentally. They share the same room, so it cant be that any other sector is affecting them. Maybe I am wrong . But Iam still on my to learning more about feng shui and want to explore all possibilities. Thankyou. Seeker.

    1. In my opinion, one of the Compass School of Feng Shui: Flying Star is about trying to determine the main entrance door to a home. 2. Thus, "listen carefully" it is trying to determine WHICH is the frontage. A frontage need not necessary be the main door or one of the two main doors etc... 3. For example, four door MPV has FIVE doors: 4 car doors and 1 rear boot door. If a car can have FIVE doors, even if one wants to have more doors in a home, this is fine. But the question, here is not how many doors one can have but rather, if one is applying Compass School; where should the frontage-main door is. 4. Another concept is to avoid a straight path from the "main door"…

Here, it would be best to use the Flying Star to analyse whether the current door position and if you still want to change the door position, to analyse the Flying Star chart based on the new door position (assuming that it may or may not alter). Dear Anon, 1. I agree with you on your definition of more than one water position below. 2. What I find highly unusual is not so much of what you mentioned below, but I literally understood or thought that the earlier posting to mean that there are two water positions outside the main door i.e. on each side. This is what I felt. 3. The context of water positions so close-by side-by-side is in my opinion highly unusual. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some considerations: 1. From a symbolism point of view; many geomancers would often say that it is considered inauspicious to have "broken glass". 2. A few years ago, a client of mine nearly wanted to install a creative piece of two pieces of acrylic with broken glass sandwiched in-between. But, as a Chinese, on her own, she felt uncomfortable having such a piece in her home. 3. Under symbolism and a belief or conception, thus, it is considered inauspicious. 4. From a common sense approach, some again feel unease if broken glass is lying around.. for both humans especially children and pets like dogs who might just swallow them... I know this is not "possible" g…
