Dear Anonymous, Anonymous wrote: Our master bedroom window is facing a stair straight down. I presume there will be a door into the bedroom between the stairs and the window? If so, just keep the dor close when not in use. Anonymous wrote: Is is bad luck toput our bed (with our feet facing) on the same direction? Firstly, it is not ideal to have the bed placed behind a window. Secondly, the bed shouldnot be placed where it faces the door. As this meansa coffin position which is bad. I am not sure if this is going to be the type of layout, if so it is really bad luck to put the bed in this position and should be avoided. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee …

1. If one wants to play safe, one can always readily purchase a Feng Shui ruler to try to work out favourable measurements as much as one can. 2. In most countries, the kitchen cabinet width is always 2 feet. 2 feet is an auspicious measurement. And because of our size and height, many of the height of the stove range between 34 inches to 35 inches. In fact, in the past, the stove is approximately 34 inches in height and the sink (is suppose to be higher) at

Dear Anon, 1.Overall, one has to check to see where is the `frontage' of the house. In most homes it is usually where the `living' room faces a direction. As it is difficult to say that one model fits all, if say the `frontage' of your house is facing the direction i.e. at the `back patio room' then a water position may still be acceptable. 2. In Traditional Feng Shui, we usually look at two other factors: 2.1 The breadwinners true element and strength. For example, if one is a weak fire and strong water person, it is best to avoid having a water position in the home. For a weak fire person, the addition of a water element may `extinguish' one's `fire'. While too much wat…

Dear Sophie, sophie corcoran wrote: cecil u have mentioned a 10 day cycle for the different birth elements. Yes, every day has different Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch combination (ie 60 different unique combinations from the 10 Heavenly Stem and 12 Earthly Branch). So since the Heavenly Stem changes in cycle, it will cycle through the 10 different Heavenly Stem. That is why Cecil mentioned that there is 10-day cycle. sophie corcoran wrote: what is today 22nd nov 2005? Dear Anon, The fundamental questions are: 1. Where is the romance sector. 2. If there are more than one interpretation of romance sector, how should we go from there? 1. Where is romance sector? Some Feng Shui practitioners/authors use the Eight Associations or Life Aspirations/Association concept and pin-point to the South West sector. Such practitioners or authors, consider that it can be applied to say the SW sector of the bedroom. 2. If there are more than one interpretation of romance sector, how should we go from there? In an earlier forum message, one can find that: Under the Flying Star, #8 represents the "Romance" sector i.e. at North East. I have also reproduc…

Dear Himanshu, You should follow the graphical representation as shown below:- When a direction is WEST, you should read it as this way depending on where you are applying it:- 1. Working direction you should be in the position where WEST is your front while EAST is your back. 2. Sleeping position, is where you head is pointing to the WEST and feet to the EAST. 3. Bedroom location where the room is located to the WEST of the house. You can make use of the several bedroom location, bed direction, work direction and study direction free reports in the My FengShui section to help you determine these directions. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui practise, if your office table is in a position to look out to a corridor or an open window into the rest of the office area, one may consider a pair of dragon figurines aimed outwards. Note: that this is not always applicable to everyone. There is a difference between Weak or Strong Earth element as shown below:- Birth Element: Weak Earth Favourable Element/Colour: Fire (red), Earth (yellow) Unfavourable Element/Colour: Wood (green/brown), Metal (white/gold) Wealth Element/Colour: Water (blue/black/gray) NOTE: Wealth element auspicious only if you are a Strong Earth, otherwise it will bring you lots of problem Birth Element: Strong Earth …

Dear Anon, It would be OK or beneficial for bad stars to be "drowned" in a toilet. This is much better especially for stars such as #5 or multiples of it and/or #2 or #3 to land in this location. On the contrary, (INSTEAD) it would be a waste for good stars to land into such locations. For example, it would be "unfortunate" to have say a set of double 8's to land in the toilet bowl! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Gordy, Yes, I personally feel that your comments are appropriate. Try to see if anything can be done to remove the large tree trunk. The 50 metres distance is considered very close proximity plus since it is visible from your home, the best to see if it can be removed, ASAP. The other alternative is: "If it is if it cannot be seen, it is no longer a threat". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. The closest Chinese `theory' that can analyse a child's future is: 1.1. Pillars of Destiny, 1.2. Palmistry. This area is less popular today. But it is still able to `map' out a person's Heaven luck. 2. Pillars of Destiny One must understand that Pillars of Destiny is suppose to map out a person's Heaven's map. However, the `escape' clause is that it can be changed especially by: - interaction with the surrounding e.g. family, - education, - relationships with friends etc.. - technology and advancement in science, such as test-tube babies, artificial insemination, advancement in replacement of organs etc... 3. More importantly, give your child, love and affe…

The Eight House which gives you the 4 good and 4 bad directions are meant to assess suitability for the room or the best directions. So if Death (West) sector) is inauspicious, then it is best that the house does not face West or the be…

1. Frankly so long as you close your gate and have the fence it is perfectly OK, already. 2. In Asia, basically Thailand revere the elephant - while India treats it as a work-horse. No significance in Feng Shui.. unless you are literally "wanting" to trample your "relatives"... Again, this has nothing to do with Feng Shui.

Dear Pam Landin, Generally, a house with good/excellentshapes and form is often more important than many other analysis. But because the house is your disaster, this may signify that this house isn't the best most suitable house for you. You can counter check this with your ba zi element, ie if you are a weak wood, and this is a North facing house Water, then this house has an element that is favourable to you. Even if the North sector is disaster, this will not be that of a bad. However, if the North is disaster, and ba zi element for that North is also unfavourable, then you should totally avoid this house. As both analysis are telling you that it isn't suitable. O…

Dear Anon, 1. Priority should be given to Flying Star Analysis rather than lessen the `irritation' of the Eight House Theory. The Eight House Theory offers no cure with respect to Feng Shui. 2. Either you sleep further away or stay away from that sector or use the spouse as a `shield'. For example, if that sector is his health sector, he sleeps closer to this intangible sector. 3. In any event, irritation is not as worse off as the `death or disaster sector'. 4. The better method of enhancing your room is not to just look at your personal element and enhance based on this but to look at both husband and wife's element and strength and find a `binding' combination i.e…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Water need not be running underground but if it is due to leaks which causes `invisible vapours', there is some cause and concern. It is the `vapours' that one should be more concerned of. Thus vapour, either from underground or leaks that cause the ground to become damp, is said to release `vapours' although, it may not be seen by the naked eye. Apologies, I do not know of any. Yes, you can sent a scanned layout of where the dampness is. But, it may not be totally possible to see how far it spread. However, it is still best to determine where the leak occurs and if possible, seal it. If not, try to, if you can, sleep in a locati…

Dear Tammy, 1. Under the FS concept, "if one can no longer see the threat, it no longer becomes a threat." 2. In your situation: 2.1. The most effective method is to protect the bedroom windows e.g. use a curtain or blind. 2.2. The other method is to plant trees behind the house such that it will block the view of the power cables. (But this may not be feasible or it may take time). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cheng Teik, Even if heavy knocking was done prior to Feb 2004, do check the following: 1. roof - is the roofing done on or after this period. 2. main door? does the main door remain or will it be changed after Feb 2004. 3. Is the main door or other fittings e.g. no window frame or window fitted especially at the frontage or the main door has not been fitted yet. 4. Has the kitchen being fully renovated and stove placed in? If any of the above remain uncompleted, then, it is safe to say that one's home will going to be a Period 8 home. Even if a home is a Period 7 home, it can still `fly' to Period 8 (but not the other way around). Doing some of the activities mentio…

Dear Jack, In my opinion, it is advisable to check the `new' birth chart of a house to find out if it is better or ... worse off in changing the `direction' of the door. Usually, the birth chart based on Flying Star of the existing door direction is looked at (compared to) in relation with the new door direction. Here, one looks at all sectors and check the significance of each sector by looking at: 1. The 81 combinations i.e. comparing the Mountain # with the Water # and the resulting interpretation. 2. The `cures' required. If the original chart needs few `cures' at various sectors. But the new birth chart has lots of `cures'. In such a situation, the former chart is `…
