Dear Anon, The fundamental questions are: 1. Where is the romance sector. 2. If there are more than one interpretation of romance sector, how should we go from there? 1. Where is romance sector? Some Feng Shui practitioners/authors use the Eight Associations or Life Aspirations/Association concept and pin-point to the South West sector. Such practitioners or authors, consider that it can be applied to say the SW sector of the bedroom. 2. If there are more than one interpretation of romance sector, how should we go from there? In an earlier forum message, one can find that: Under the Flying Star, #8 represents the "Romance" sector i.e. at North East. I have also reproduc…

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui practise, if your office table is in a position to look out to a corridor or an open window into the rest of the office area, one may consider a pair of dragon figurines aimed outwards. Note: that this is not always applicable to everyone. There is a difference between Weak or Strong Earth element as shown below:- Birth Element: Weak Earth Favourable Element/Colour: Fire (red), Earth (yellow) Unfavourable Element/Colour: Wood (green/brown), Metal (white/gold) Wealth Element/Colour: Water (blue/black/gray) NOTE: Wealth element auspicious only if you are a Strong Earth, otherwise it will bring you lots of problem Birth Element: Strong Earth …

Dear Kaushal, 1. Generally, if one finds pictures pleasing to the eye, there is really no hard or fast rule in the placement. 2. The pictures that one should avoid are those that symbolically represent fierce animals, hanging of swords of such sort. Otherwise, hang pictures at locations which you or your family member `likes'. 5. Dear Pam Landin, Generally, a house with good/excellentshapes and form is often more important than many other analysis. But because the house is your disaster, this may signify that this house isn't the best most suitable house for you. You can counter check this with your ba zi element, ie if you are a weak wood, and this is a North facing house Water, then this house has an element that is favourable to you. Even if the North sector is disaster, this will not be that of a bad. However, if the North is disaster, and ba zi element for that North is also unfavourable, then you should totally avoid this house. As both analysis are telling you that it isn't suitable. O…

Dear Anon, 1. Priority should be given to Flying Star Analysis rather than lessen the `irritation' of the Eight House Theory. The Eight House Theory offers no cure with respect to Feng Shui. 2. Either you sleep further away or stay away from that sector or use the spouse as a `shield'. For example, if that sector is his health sector, he sleeps closer to this intangible sector. 3. In any event, irritation is not as worse off as the `death or disaster sector'. 4. The better method of enhancing your room is not to just look at your personal element and enhance based on this but to look at both husband and wife's element and strength and find a `binding' combination i.e…

Dear Jennifer, Please see below:- For the North Corner, you mentioned that there is a bad Yellow Earth. I am not sure if you have considered the other star and base number here. Assuming that by comparing all three numbers, there is indeed an imbalance, the best cure for bad Earth (yellow) and especially if other elements also feeds it, then, it would be better to use 6 coins to represent strong metal to help destroy it. Although a wind chime can do some help. (But it should not be used in conjuction with 6 coins as there may be an overal imbalance caused by the addition of the 6 coins or wind chime. Where possible the water feature should be in a `water star' positio…

Dear Anon, A kitchen located in the prosperity sector is ok. One need to look out instead for the following:- 1. Avoid any parts of the stove being supressed by ceiling beam above it. 2. Water pipes should not criss-cross along the stove. (It should be hidden from view). 3. For the stove; the knobs should face upwards towards the ceiling (in a neutral position) especially if the stove face `outwards' of the main entrance of the house. 4. If the kitchen is at the North sector, it is best that the stove does not face a water position. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cleo, Flying Star Feng Shui can help to detect sectors with imbalances. In your case, if the sector identified has Lawsuits and some gossips involved, then it is prudent to neutralise this specific sector with a neutralising element. In such a case, `big metal' or six coins (controlled by red string) for example is used to neutralise such bad element e.g. #4 (lawsuits and gossips). Remember that this is distinct from your personal element e.g. Strong metal. The purpose here, is the home Feng Shui. Where, be it a strong or weak metal or other elements e.g. strong/weak fire, wood, water or earth. Here, if there are imbalances and especially in your bedroom. In order…

  10. Dear Anon, This interesting extract is taken from Britannica.com:- p'ungsuchirisol (Korean: "theory of wind, water, and land"), in Korean religion, geomancy, a belief that the natural environment of a particular location can influence the fortune of its inhabitants and descendants. It derives from the Chinese notion of feng-shui ("wind-water"), which developed from observation of chronic catastrophies wrought in China by winds and floods. Also implied is the Chinese concept of yin-yang (two contrary but complementary principles that explain all change) and the doctrine of the five elements that constitute all reality. According to p'ungsuchirisol, each plot of land posse…

  11. Dear Dana, In my opinion, if it is a small table fountain, then you can safely consider it as a decorative piece. However, avoid placing it at or close to the centre-point of the house. You can place it e.g. at a corner particularly at the frontage of the house. For example, if you are living in a flat/condominium, it should preferably be placed in the living room closer to the balcony. This is similar also to placement for landed properties. Try to avoid placing it at the center areas of the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Cheng Teik, Even if heavy knocking was done prior to Feb 2004, do check the following: 1. roof - is the roofing done on or after this period. 2. main door? does the main door remain or will it be changed after Feb 2004. 3. Is the main door or other fittings e.g. no window frame or window fitted especially at the frontage or the main door has not been fitted yet. 4. Has the kitchen being fully renovated and stove placed in? If any of the above remain uncompleted, then, it is safe to say that one's home will going to be a Period 8 home. Even if a home is a Period 7 home, it can still `fly' to Period 8 (but not the other way around). Doing some of the activities mentio…

    1. Frankly so long as you close your gate and have the fence it is perfectly OK, already. 2. In Asia, basically Thailand revere the elephant - while India treats it as a work-horse. No significance in Feng Shui.. unless you are literally "wanting" to trample your "relatives"... Again, this has nothing to do with Feng Shui.

Dear Anon, Generally, dragons are considered the most Yang of all the Chinese zodiac animals. But usually, what we have are simply figurines and there is certainly "no danger" keeping them in the South. For example if you have a display shelf, and you place a dragon in it. However, were possible as dragons `need space' it is best that they be placed facing clear space and looking out of the house or window. This is just a belief (only). Warmest Regards, Cecil

  16. Dear Nini, Please see below:- This can be very subjective. And it depends on individuals. Some of us may be highly sensitive to certain issues e.g. storage below the bed. While others may not. Some of us have heard a tale, where a princess could not sleep even if there is a small piece of needle below her pillow case. Alternatively, it may be biological or some other issues/daily concerns/problems that make one unable to sleep. Frankly, there is not much one can do; other to do a test.. i.e. try removing the storage for a week and see if one still sleeps comfortably. (If this can be done). Your second question was addressed in another recent forum message. Warmest Reg…

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: In the year 2007, the Grand Duke will sit in N-NW 330 deg, and the location in conflict is West. Does this mean that Ishould notdo any digging in the N-NW 330 deglocation or the Eastlocation of my property? Yes, that is correct. The Grand Duke has a greater impact so N-NW must be avoided where possible. Location in Conflict is the disagreement or incompatiblity of the Animal Signs type of location, so have a lesser impact. So if can avoid, you should avoid any renovations in either these two sectors. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center Applied Feng Shui Research.

Dear Per, In my opinion, for a small that is shared for livingrm cum office cum bedroom, more importantly the placement of the various furnitures. And avoid `clutter' where possible. Under Feng Shui, the most appropriate concept used here is the Yin and Yang concept. Where, there should be a `balance'. In moments of rest (sleep), a more conducive yin environment is good. But while working, too conducive of such a yin environment is not favourable. I believe, that your room should have a window. And, depending on the direction also i.e. if the window area faces directly west, then, it may be quite hot (depending on your country - season). Overall, try your best to balance…

I have read there a placement of a windchime in-between is a solution to this, but does not seem practical, since we do not want to hear the noise from it. Are there any other solutions to this problem? Thank you. A common method is to use a red paint to dot the door handle of the two door. This way it helps to signify that the two occupants can hopefully see eye-to-eye. i believe this is the more practical solution that the windchime. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Le…

Dear Mark, Mark Thornhill wrote: I have a 4m 7b 8w combination at the front door and I am so very confused as to what to activate. I have read Eva Wongs book and she says that I should concentrate on relationship between 7b and 8w. However, Stephen Skinner says that 4m and 8w should be concentrated on? Generally, there are many rules in flying star application. The easiest what I can advise you is follow these rules:- 1. You should always consider how the 3 element interact with each other and which is auspicious/inauspicious. 4 (weak Wood) 7 (weak Metal) 8 (weak Earth) In period 8, star 4 is average, star 7 is inauspicious, star 8 is auspicious. So the best solutio…

Dear Anon, I not gone thru based on Eight House (good facing direction). However, please see below for my comments:- Based on your second description here, option 1 is preferred. As an overhead cabinet is not favourable for two reasons: 1. It acts more like a supression (beam). 2. If one notice carefully, usually the edge or corner of the overhead cabinet may act as a poison arrow towards the body of a person. Usually, if there are space constraints, option 1 is preferred. It would be a bonus if the direction you face is good or nice to have (under Eight House concept). For personal self, one can see how to incorporate the colours in daily dressing. Objects placed…

Dear Seco, Plants and flowers in general, no matter whether they are have thorns or not, are geneally good. It is always nice to have some greenery, or nice looking or smelling plants to liven up the place. Anyway, even for thorns are quite small, a few of them will not create a massive sha qi. Thus, it should be no problems to have roses in that area. Furthermore, you already have put up some Metal cures which should be enough to neutralise the sector. Hope that helps.
