Dear Peter, 1. Yes, in your situation, Shapes and Forms would often prevail over our best position - based on the Eight House theory. 2. Even if our facing direction is not favourable, it would be worse off to sit with our back against a door. (Especially if the door is frequently used). 3. One can draw a parallel to the "modern" house-hunter. Nowadays, for example, many breadwinners belong to the West house group. And just because, they read that West directions are the most favourable for them. As a result, especially in Singapore, there are many people who continue to buy homes that face west or east-west or have bedrooms at the west. Without realising that the…

I have read there a placement of a windchime in-between is a solution to this, but does not seem practical, since we do not want to hear the noise from it. Are there any other solutions to this problem? Thank you. A common method is to use a red paint to dot the door handle of the two door. This way it helps to signify that the two occupants can hopefully see eye-to-eye. i believe this is the more practical solution that the windchime. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Le…

Dear Meilissa, 1. Under Chinese beliefs, if one notice carefully, figurines comes in `pairs'. 2. For example, Fufu dogs or lions are always placed on both sides of the door. 3. For your situation, so long as the hose is not directly `slicing' the main door, this is not a poison arrow i.e. if you are to stand at the main entrance looking out of the house, it should not be tangent or parallel to the main entrance door. 4. For the animal, it can be any object even if it looks `fierce' so long as it faces out of the house. Animal objects that look `fierce' should not look into a home especially into the window or main entrance. 5. You can if there are any `cartoon' characters…

Because of the ms4 and bs4, will this wood floor make my lawsuit situation worse? Generally, there is no issue for the type of flooring. I mean there can only be wood flooring or tiles or carpet. It would be impractical to use other material for bedroom as it might be too cool for even your feet. More important would usually be the colour scheme of the room. The flooring materials are not an issue. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Rese…

I have read Eva Wongs book and she says that I should concentrate on relationship between 7b and 8w. However, Stephen Skinner says that 4m and 8w should be concentrated on? Generally, there are many rules in flying star application. The easiest what I can advise you is follow these rules:- 1. You should always consider how the 3 element interact with each other and which is auspicious/inauspicious. 4 (weak Wood) 7 (weak Metal) 8 (weak Earth) In period 8, star 4 is average, star 7 is inauspicious, star 8 is auspicious. So the best solutio…

Dear Anon, Some practitioners may consider the apartment asSE facing because the main entrance is located facing SE. If so, since SE facing is wood, it is not suitable for a Strong Fire person. On the other hand, the alternative view is that it can be SW facing i.e. earth element. Thus, would be suitable to a Strong Fire person. Usually, without an onsite visit, I believe many traditionalist practitioners would consider your apartment as a SE facing one as the defacto facing direction of the apartment. Often, a more accurate assessment is needed e.g. onsite to view the surrounding buildings, garden, open space and to locate the qi flow coming towards the unit either…

Dear Terri, In terms of selling a house, there is very little you can do using Feng Shui except to make the house look nice and clean and make a list of what are the benefits (ie near MRT etc). The only thing you can use Feng Shui if there are any good benefits based on feng shui to add value. Otherwise, nothing much you can really do. The other area which you can attempt to improve the luck is individually. ie based on your ba zi, ie a strong water person, so for example. You can try to wear more favourable colours ie Wood (green/brown). Improving your own personal luck may help a little. But ultimately still depends on your house location and factors. More than Feng S…

Dear Sophia, What I meant is that one should not display 6-of-them on the same table or pair them up together. But rather, there is no major issue if they are not ALL figurines but if there is a picture of them and a set of three figurines. Thus I am talking about 2 sets of Fu, Luo & Shou. Much like identical twins : Fu Fu, Luo Luo & Shou Shou. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1.As a strong fire person; your good elements are: earth, metal and water. 2. Your wealth element is metal. This type of career is suppose to lead to greater wealth. 3. Your power and authority is water. Thus a career associated with water is considered favourable for you. Can reach higher position of authority.

Dear Anon, Generally, dragons are considered the most Yang of all the Chinese zodiac animals. But usually, what we have are simply figurines and there is certainly "no danger" keeping them in the South. For example if you have a display shelf, and you place a dragon in it. However, were possible as dragons `need space' it is best that they be placed facing clear space and looking out of the house or window. This is just a belief (only). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kaushal, 1. The color scheme may be different if there are two persons sleeping in the room. Here, it is best to use a binding element for the spouse and his/her partner. 2. However, if you are the only person occupying the room, and since you are a weak fire person: 2.1. Normally, under the Luck Pillars, it is best to check the season of influence i.e. this is a neutral period or there is a dominating element that either aids your weak fire or weaken it further. 2.2. If there is a dominating element that helps to strengthen your `weak fire' then, it would not be necessary to enhance your room e.g. with the color that aids the fire element. If on the other hand, if …

Dear Sarah, Thanks for bring up an interesting point. Yes, usually the question that it (slanted roof) is considered `inauspicious' has been brought up. But not how much `damage' it may cause. In my opinion, an overhead beam would be more inauspicious then say a slanted roof. I have audited several homes with slanted roof ranging from it in the bedroom area to the study room. Some of the rooms have the slanted roof away from the bed or study. While some rooms have it away from the study (chair area where one sits). Based on my personal experience; I feel that: 1. it depends on whether how long one spents at the sector (with the slopping ceiling). 2. if for example, the be…

Dear Anon, If one uses the Chinese compass or Luopan to analyse a direction, here, there is the sitting and facing direction. What this means is that on the compass or Luopan, e.g. the compass direction facing the main entrance door is the facing direction while the sitting direction refers to the opposite direction. Thus it is like looking at e.g. O degrees and 180 degrees on the compass or luopan where 0 degrees is the facing direction while 180 degrees refers to the sitting position. It is normally used in conjunction with the Chinese luopan. On this site, since many users do not have a luopan, we have adopted the `regular' or ordinary compass method. You can check out…

Dear Joan, 1. Usually, flooring of this nature has more to do with the ideal of "Health" and "Relationship" or whatever. 2. Often, parquet with or without it being considered good or bad, is much favoured then hard cool floor tile. This is because, wood is a very poor conductor. And the ideal here is that for those who sleep on the floor (floor mat), or if one just wake up and step on the floor tile it is not cold as compared to ceramic floor tile. 3. Therefore, for the Chinese, the parquet flooring is preferred in a bedroom condition. *joke* Hopefullly, the home is never near termite infested area else it is pure enjoyment for the termites. 4. 1. When applying authentic Traditional Feng Shui, and if you are strictly applying Compass School Feng Shui, then you should be using the "magnetic compass". 2. Not to complicate things, for example near the equator, the magnetic north is nearly equal to the geographic north. Even in other areas, there is a slight deviation, only. 3. As mentioned under Para 1, above, authentic Traditional Compass School Feng Shui, is where, as you had given an example, your frontage should be and is North not South, while the South is the back of the home. This is particuarly so, if you are TAKING a reading using a normal compass (or regular compass). 4. Not to be confused with the Chi…

Hi Master. I have a question regarding Ba Zi personal dressing colors. I understand the importance of wearing the most suitable colors according to our element needs, but it’s some times difficult to convince women and young children to follow that. So, I wonder if special jewellery with elements marks ( fire, water etc) could suit the requirements of Ba Zi, bypassing the limitations for the dress code. Thank you

Dear Anon, The best `cure' would be to use a screen. For such cases, the screen or a partition need not reach up totally to the ceiling. It merely needs to `hide' the door. Here, `if one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, 1. In general, Feng Shui analysis of a business or office building is similar to that used for audit of the home. 2. For example, the Flying Star analysis is used to analyse the birth chart of the office. 3. Shapes and Form Feng Shui is also used in an office environment. 4. One's Personal Gua or (Ba Zhi) is also used to match the person to their office. Warmest Regards, Cecil Regards, Wasis

    1. In general, traditionally the Chinese 7th month (especially) certain days is considered auspicious. Nowadays, just because the Chinese 7th "Ghost" month happens to be in the 7th month, many thus construe that it is not an auspicious period. 2. For other races e.g. Indians, they have their own "7th month" which is not in the Chinese 7th month. 3. Overall, we read about many, many Chinese in China getting married on this "auspicious sounding" date. Thus many seem to think it is a good date

  23. Dear Anon, Usually, the Japanese Lucky cats figurines with their hands raised on either side is often used by business, both Chinese and Japanese establishment especially food eatery. There should not be a problem displaying these `lucky' cats at home. Figurines to avoid include ferocious animals that look hungry or on the prowl. Or animals with hands outstreched and `empty handed.' Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chew Chin, Please see below:- Currently, I am in the 1. In the master You can apply the concept " If one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat ". So long as it is covered varing the height of the wall, it is ok. Where possible, give a higher height i.e. minimal false ceiling would be a better alternative as it gives a feeling of "space" rather than an enclosed feeling. The other alternative is to use two bamboo flutes e.g. -------------- beam / \ use two flutes / \ -------------- Place two wooden flutes to form the top profile of a Ba gua trigram. Here, the wooden flutes represent the Wood element where wood is used to destroy Earth or th…
