Dear Karen, The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it. For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective. In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit. ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine. ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine. Or it represents the current flyin…

Hi Anon, There are no such mircale items that can help you. Most of these items are created with the intention to make money. So they will of course tell you it is best you buy this item to protect yourself. However, these items does not come with a guarentee/warrenty card that say that if you use it, you will sure to be protected. The best way in our view, is as what we have been always been asking users to do. Enhance whatever element that you lack through, colours ofclothes/car/bedroom, a favourable career, house etc. If you can have as many areas of your life with more favourable element, this will help you reduce any inauspicious influence or impact for that year. …

Dear Anon, This is actually a very common problem for a lot of people. This is where you need to adopt a give and take approach. When looking for for a home, you give the best facing (ie excellent/prosperity etc) to the breadwinner. In our traditional chinese culture, the man of the house is the husband or father of the family. Then the breadwinner will enjoya less suitable bedroom (ie spook/irritation etc). Given that the breadwinner gets his luck from the house, he can now give a better bedroom to his spouse. Thus, the spouse can have a less suitable facing of the house (ie spook/irritation etc), while a better bedroom ie (excellent/prosperity etc). This way you can …

Dear Micky, The period 8 built house can be generated by selecting period 8 period when you create a flying star profile. The house will not fly to the period automatically unless you effect a change. Thus, any report created under period 7 will remain a period 7 house chart. For the yearly flying star, the 2005 stars will be available once you pass the Chinese Lunar New Year. The current year is still 2004. All our concepts on the website follow a standard calendar format ieChinese Lunar Calendar. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Pam, I really can't get a good look at the picture. Only could see a little bit of the roof, not even sure what colour of the roof. If blue/gray, not very ideal colour for roof. As it blue/gray represents water element, and in I-Ching water usually represents difficulty. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Generally, grand duke does not affect a person much unless you refer to renovation work that happen in that sector direction. For bed or sleeping position, priority goes to the shapes and form placement of the bed within the room itself. Followed by, if possible best sleeping direction. Since grand duke isn't so much to worry in this case, thus you can choose to sleep with your head facing East. Please note that as mentioned you should also consider other factors such as the shapes and form of the bed. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, You can make use of the Auspicious Dates Analysis reports in our website to find the best date for your needs. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-dates/po-dates.htm Our auspicious date analysis requires name, gender, date and time of birth to be able to tell you the most personalised date that is best for you in addition to the Tong Shu. Since each person is unique, there is no single date that is good for all, unless you justlook only at Tong Shu. Hope that helps. Dear Anthea, Yes, under the fortune telling analysis, Moles on Face is one form of analysis:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-face.htm In our website, we all along do not emphase on fortune telling portions for even ba zi. This is because, we believe that a lot of such fortune telling if any only create fears for people. And it will create this self-fullfilling concept. Where a person believes so much in the negative prediction, that you actually make it happen. Frankly, any form of even cosmetic surgery (how small), carries a risk of danger. So is it really worth the while to do so? The best way is to try to be in harmony with your envrionment, by kno…

Dear Anon, In terms of this question, with regards to Grand Duke and sitting direction. If possible, you should avoid sitting facing the West. However, where you have constrain in this, then this Grand Duke issue is the least concerned. There are many concepts but not everything has to be followed depending on priority. Since you have a choice of direction North, then it would be advisable to sit facing North. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Sophia, A better alternative is to place a red dot on the same spot of both door handles. Here, it is symbolic of "seeing eye-to-eye" with each other. This is often a preferred method than using cupboards to block the doors. As this can result in poor air-circulation or dead qi collected in the bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tim, In my opinion, Shapes and Form as mentioned by you below cannot cure "unwanted" stars. Since this concept is static and does not take into account time dimensions as the Flying Star Feng Shui. The only correlation is that often, under some Flying star models, it is preferred that the layout or rooms are squarish in shape. Here, it is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The idea behind using the hulu or bottle gourd is to "suck away" bad elements. Thus it is often placed in a toilet or next to the toilet bowl e.g. if the toilet is at the centrepoint of the house. Or often placed in a bedroom to counter "sickness" stars such as #2 sickness and/or #5 misfortune/sickness stars. Thus it is not placed based on the situation you had mentioned, below. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, A statute of a galloping horse is often placed facing the main entrance. Here, this symbolises either: 1. Frequent travels e.g. for work or leisure 2. Horses running out of the home or office to get more business. Under the Chinese zodiac sign, the horse element represents the fire element. Thus it is on the opposite side of the Rat element. Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net In ancient times, a movement of a group of 8 horses running was suppose to represent a famous 10 century Chinese King. Under Flying star Feng Shui, if there is a mountain star #9 and say this is the living room area or an area where it looks nice to display the 3 red horses, this …

Dear Mir, Actually this is not Feng Shui. In Singapore, or more commonly, it is placed facing an entrance. For example, in many Chinese (local) homes in Singapore, it is placed on the opposite wall facing the main entrance. Perhaps, this is psychological as once one steps into the home; one is "immedately" greeted by a smiling "face". In Singapore, most Chinese business do not place a laughing buddha in their business whether be it facing the main entrance or otherwise. In Singapore, some Chinese businessman would instead place a "Guan Kong" (rather than a laughing buddha) with the hope of securing more business. Thus, in my opinion, it does not matter whether the …

Dear Anon, Actually, the gift of "chopsticks" isrelatively new. I hope, you don't mind me frankly letting you know:- In the past, it was not wise to lend or give chopsticks because of it has a similar sound like "zhu" or "halt". Thus is especially not good or an appropriategift. It is especially best to keep the gift or store it away. Nowadays, there is another set of "chopsticks" gift i.e. two chopsticks placed ontop of a bowl - kept in a glass display frame. This is again not favourable. This is similar to one praying to the dead ancestor i.e. it's offering to the dead. And this is thus also considered very inauspicious. Since chopsticks does not have any good mea…

Dear Anon, This really depends on a few factors:- 1. If it is a home/office built anytime after 2004, it will automatically be a period 8 house. 2. For houses built in period 7, it will remain a period 7 house until a major renovation is done to convert it. Please note, that a major renovation typically means changing of the house structure by knocking down some wall etc. Such renovation will take effect amost immediately. Most other renovations that are less major (ie painting of wall etc), or morelike repair work typically are not enough to constitute a major renovation, so it may or may not change depends on how much works are done. Most of the luck from home com…

Dear Charity, Basically, there could be several factors which may go wrong. What I can do to help you here is give you free paid reports that may help you understand what could be causing your problem. Most of the the time many areas such as:- 1. Feng Shui luck of existing house could be bad (please use flying star report to check) 2. External shapes and form (ie any sha qi from buildings across the home cutting into your home) 3. Ba Zi element / career (ie weak wood but having metal career which destroy your weak wood). 4. Ba Zi colour (ie weak wood dislike metal - white/gold which destroy your weak wood) 5. Unsuitable House (ie house face North water element, but…

Dear Pam, Once a house has some water feature (ie drain etc). Then you have to consider the impact of the water course feng shui. Especially, the direction of the water flow as well as the shape of the drain. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-wcourse.htm Generally, a drain near a house, poses a couple of problems typical problems like smell / flooding etc. Most of the time if you have a choice, it is best to avoid houses with such a drain if and where possible. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, For practical reasons, if one must shift house during herpregnancy, it is best that:- 1. she must not see the masterbed moved over to thenew home at all. 2. one possibility isbuy a new master bedroom bed. In particular, for the masterbedroom bed, she should not (must not) see it moved or participate in the moving of the bed. If possible, on the safe side, she should not participate at all in the move while pregnant. Only after the shift has been completed and the master bed is firmly in place, then she can "move-in" or come into the new home. Once this is done, don't move the bed at all. Only after baby's 1 month. You should also read up on some other p…

Dear Alice, Please always remember that true feng shui does not really need to use any items. The best way to harmonise the environment is not by putting all sorts of 'feng shui items' but rather to ensure that:- 1. You fit the environment based on suitability. 2. Colours scheme of the home/decor/car fits your element so as to gain as much luck as possible. 3. Placement of furnitures such that there is no posion arrows etc. You will find that if you follow the above, it does a lot more wonders than just using any particular items. Of course, such items if it makes you feel good, then no harm in putting it. This is because the Human Luck (whatever makes you feel good…

Dear Oliv Sillivan, To avoid lawsuits, you have to check out where is the Lu Chun Xing (Star 3 - Wood) under the flying star analysis. If there are such stars present in areas such as your main door, frontage, bedroom or study room which you use. These are the stars you want to neutralise so as to reduce any such lawsuits/conflicts. The solution is to have more Metal.Fire is also possible so long as there is no Star 2/5 present. These are the stars normally associated with the Lawsuit issues. However, beside that, we always advise users to do a full assessment of your home, check out whether there are any major leaks such as:- 1. House is death / disaster to the occup…

Dear Micky, If they are tiny lions, then often not an issue because of it's size. Usually, these should be considered more of a decorative item than anything else. Under the Five elements concept; lions are considered as a metal element. And often, it two huge lions are facing our door, then, the best approach is to place a red banner over our door. Or a red-semi-circular carpet radiating outwards of our main door. Under the Five elements concept: Lion = metal element Under the destructive cycle of the Five elements concept:- Fire destroys or melts metal. Reference link:http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm Thus, fire (red) can be used to neut…

Dear Kelvin, Flying Star can be applied to as large as a plot of land, or as small as an apartment or a bedroom. So where you decide to take the facing direction or main door will determine how the flying star chart influence is for. 1. If you are doing a feng shui evaluation for the entire plot of land at Haig Court, then you take the entrance of the plot of land. 2. If you are doing a feng shui evalution for the entire block, then you take the facing of the entire block. 3. If you are doing a feng shui evalution for your own apartment, then you either take:- 3a. The main door of your apartment especially if lower level (ie less than 10 floors). 3b. The facing fro…
