Dear Tian Wan, Generally, when you refer to good oa bad direction for a house it depends on several things. 1. If you refer to a good and bad house based on a Flying Star for example. Then yes, a house can be good and bad depending on the location. However, this by itself does not mean that a bad house is bad for everyone. 2. It also depends very much on the suitability of the house to the owner. I this means that a house which is suitable to the owner can overrule some of the bad influence the house has, as it is generally favourable to a person. So it depends on how you look at it. Generallly, however, most problems can be solved especially for influences based on F…

Dear Anon, 1. Usually, the Gua number refers to the `Eight House' Gua (Kua). 2. You can generate a manual report at : http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm 3. The above links has write-up on how to use the Gua to your home. Such as finding the centrepoint etc... 4. You can also used the Free on-line report i.e. The Eight House Report at http://www.geomancy-online.com to generate this and many other reports. 5. My Applied Feng Shui book has at least two formulas for calculating the Gua number. The methods are equally applicable to greater than Year 2000. 6. Recently, I received a private e-mail from a user using Lillian Too's (one method) where one needs to input the `fou…

Dear Gabby, In my opinion, the most important thing in living in a college apartment is not so much of the utilization of "Feng Shui" but rather, the positive approach you take towards your college studies, relationship with teachers, friends and most importantly, your studying `techniques'. This is because a small room basicially have very little effect (other than psychological) in your life. What is most important is not to feel distracted when you `study' or do your assignments. As your room becomes either a place of activity (studying and doing assignments) and on the other hand, for sleep, both Yin (sleep and quite activity) and Yang (study, wake up etc)... comes in…

Dear Cheui May 1. The table must lean against a wall or a partition for support. 2. It should not be by itself, e.g. in the middle of the room. It should rest on or `supported' one side by a wall. 3. Where possible, the back of the table should also preferably be a solid wall. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yvonne, 1. Contrary to popular belief, it does not necessarily follow that if the door faces south, it should be painted red. 2. Or if the door faces North (blue); East (Green or brown). 3. If one is not sure what colour to paint the door, neutral color e.g. natural wood grain color or white is the most acceptable color. 4. If Flying Star Feng Shui is considered as red represents the fire element, the sector at South is checked to see the interaction of the three #mountain + #water + base number to check that they are in balance. After the above evaluation, then one looks at whether painting the door pink or red (Fire element) is either beneifical; neutral or may d…

Dear Vijay, 1. If one is looking at the 5 elements concept; it is important that we understand the destructive cycle. 2. In past forum messages, I mentioned that actually, the destructive cycle is also the `wealth' creation model. 3. For example: lets look at the "destructive cycle":- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm E.g. Wood destroys earth 4. Here, if we look carefully at this "destruction": actually, logically speaking wood gets it's nurishment from earth. 5. And as we are all aware, over farming is undesirable. thus, many farmers plant one crop, rotate another crop etc.. And they also add neutrient into the soil. 6. Another example is Metal …

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Ideally, the more accurate method is to analyse all three elements i.e. that of the base number, mountain # and water # rather than base it on a combination of 10. The analysis of the three elements will look `within' to see if there are any imbalances (if any) at that sector. If there is an imbalance and the element identified, a cure can be use appropriately. Here, again, it is better to look at the relationships of all three elements within the sector. If there is indeed an imbalance, you only need to neutralise it. But if water is in the way of this analysis, it is preferably not be there or (for the breadwinner), it is advisable…

Dear Susan, Each house has to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. It depends on the distance of the house e.g. back of the house to the drop off point. And the gradient of this drop off point or slope. Overall, a large land has some advantages. Especially if the back is `spacious' or better off situation. In such a senario, if the proper `fencing' or ability to create a solid backing can be done, this can be acceptable. Therefore, no two houses are the same. It is best in most situations to create a `solid backing' at the back of the house and if possible avoid water positions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Just wondering... It is said that I am Strong Water. I am a cartoonist, illustratorand a graphic novelist. Art is water too, yes? Does that mean I took the wrong career? If I only consider your career suitability, yes probably cartoonist, illustrator and graphic novelist will be considered weater element and so not suitable for you. However, there are many areas in your life (ie your house suitability/element, your career, the colours/element you wear, the people around you, your own luck period etc). Of which the house will have the greatest amount of luck. So if you want to have water career, then you need to make sure you have at least a W…

Dear Everyone, Before, I answer the question on mirrors, there is an important concept of mirror: " Mirror, mirror on the wall ". Please see illustration in the attached file. (Only available under web-login to the forum. Attachment not included for those participating or listening in from an e-mail mailing list). History: 1. The Cantonese dialect group is particularly fond of placing mirror(s) in the living room. The idea is that food on the dining table can be multiplied. 2. The above, is particularly favourable to Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners. Especially since the majority of Hong Kongers are Cantonese themselves! 3. Interior Decoration and Mirrors (C) Cecil Lee U…

Was checking the forum for questions missed or still unanswered and found this message. Here is the reply:- Generally, sometimes there is very little options for placement of such objects. Anyway, feel free to place them where ever you feel it serves you easily. Generally, you should be more concerned if say the bedroom where you sleep is not in your 4 good directions or if you are the breadwinner and that the main door is not in your 4 good directions. Otherwise, on other minor areas such as some object placement, you should be free to be able to decide where you want to place. In terms of the kitchen, if you really want to be Feng Shui friendly. Then make sure you place…

Dear Momo, 1. If you are using the Flying Star House Number report, this is meant for apartments/flat and not landed property. 2. Usually, basing on house number may not be a good idea or a direct basis to determine how good or bad a house is. In Feng Shui, an audit based on Shapes and Forms and other Compass School methods, would be a better option to help increase or improve one's luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Gabriel, Please see below:- 24 is actually the 24 directions or mountains under the Flying Star Feng Shui. Where each sector of the compass i.e. 360 degrees is divided by 15 degree increments which results in 24 directions or mountains. East/West Group is also known as Eight House and basically, it is finding the house compass direction and `slotting' the house into either North , South, East, West, NE, SE, SW, NW or 8 compass directions. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui not only is the house Feng Shui if a house is at `North' one must determine which of the North sectors it belongs to. For example in the Flying Star you have:- Direction ========= North 1 North 2…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am new to this website. Just curious whether are our destinies(study, career, marriage, etc...)set when we are born? Are we able to change or accept them as it is???? In general, under feng shui there is Heaven, Earth, Human luck. So under the heaven luck, it is often said that the kind of luck a person is supposed to have is generally pre-determined. However, since there are still two more factors Earthluck and Human luck, these two can still help to alter some of the given luck. For example, a good Earth luck can make an inauspicious 10-year luck better than it is predicted in the ba zi. Good Human luck ie having good relationship with yo…

Dear Diana, If you use this free report, it will show you exactly what elements and colours you will need:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm Or the Comparison Report within the Members Area will accurately find a Binding Element common to both of you. Generally for weak Metal and weak Fire, probably one set of binding element could be Fire (Red) and Earth (yellow). There are several different combinations but Fire and Earth would probably be the best as fire enhance weak the weak Fire, while Earth enhance Metal. This also helps you to create an harmonious combination of element Fire -> Earth -> Metal. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards …

Dear Karen, Studies such as those done by NASA, has shown that having a plant indoors can be beneifical to a home. Recently, I had posted a link in this forum to a Honeywell Site - which also has some resources on having a plant indoors - and that some plants are more effective than others in `cleansing' the air in a home. In my opinion, I personally think that there are two reasons why some people do not like having a money plant indoors i.e. home or office:- Reason 1: Some of us just use a glass plant container, add rocks, to `secure' the roots of the money plant. And simply pour water to this container. As many of us know, this is an easy option, as we do not need to …

Dear Anon, This is actually a very common problem for a lot of people. This is where you need to adopt a give and take approach. When looking for for a home, you give the best facing (ie excellent/prosperity etc) to the breadwinner. In our traditional chinese culture, the man of the house is the husband or father of the family. Then the breadwinner will enjoya less suitable bedroom (ie spook/irritation etc). Given that the breadwinner gets his luck from the house, he can now give a better bedroom to his spouse. Thus, the spouse can have a less suitable facing of the house (ie spook/irritation etc), while a better bedroom ie (excellent/prosperity etc). This way you can …

Dear David, David Sim wrote: Hi My master bedroom lies in my disaster line. Two toilets sit between my master bedroom and the centre point. Do the toilets negate the bad influence of the disaster line? Generally, your individual eight house (4 good or 4 bad) directions mainly helps to determine whether a house or bedroom sector or facing direction is favourable for you or not. So it helps you determine whether a sector is good for you to use or not. So if the bedroom falls in your disaster sector it means that that room isn't the most suitable room for you to make use. The most suitable house would be one that most of the good sectors of the room would fall in the suit…

Dear Cheui May, Every period can have a Double e.g. 1s; 2s; 3s; 4s; 5s and the rest of the periods. This depends on one of the compass directions in 15 degree increments. These periods are considered good if they fall under the same period e.g. double 5s are considered good in Period 5. Perhaps, it is because you have not encountered a compass direction that has the right combinations of double 5s. Warmest Regards, Cecil On 11/26/00 11:35:00 PM, Cheui May Heui /wrote:

Dear Norman, Norman Leonor wrote: I have a mirror 4feet by 4 1/2 feet standing infront my stairs upstairs.. Does this mirror have any effect on us and for the good chi or bad chi? Generally, it is not a good idea to have a mirror just at the stairs, simply because it can be a shock for people to see themselves when theyreach the top. Especially for those who are not aware that it is there. Furthermore, mirror if placed in bad sector, can sometimes bounce/create twice the bad luck. Hope that helps.
