Dear Yen Zhen, yan zhen goh wrote: I am a Ram person of weak water element (2nd Nov 1979). Many horoscope books havestated that I am always incompatible or have many difficulties with Tiger & Dog people. Actually, I get along extremely well with them! (incl my best friends & most reliable subordinates as well)What could be the factors? I have 5 earth elements in my chart; could that be a factor too? I'm extremely interested to find out about this. Thanks in advance! Frankly, horoscope is a very simplistic way to determine compatibility as it assigns each horoscope sign with some compatible and incompatible horoscope. However, if you think more deeply, there are …

Dear Gordon, If space is a constraint, there is really not much that can be done. Some Feng Shui practitioners may recommend placing a windchime to `neutralise' the pointed edge. However, one should also take note that windchimes may not be favourable. You can do a search in this forum for more information of the `effects' of wind chimes (if wrongly) placed. Regards, Cecil

Dear Noe, 1. For a weak earth element person, a fish tank is neutral to the person's element. It does not enhance a weak earth person. 2. Unless one has a fish tank / aquarium as a hobby, to a FS practitioner, it is usually meant more as a `cure'. While in the past and present, a Taiwanese FS master would usually use more of plants. While Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners use more of fish tanks. For example, if there is a lone lamp post which seems to slice into the window. Here, a FS practitioner may recommend the use of a fish tank. 3. Please note that fish tank is thus used more as a `cure' to neutralise sha qi in Feng Shui. As its qi is considered `slow moving'. Dear Mun Hon, Please see below:- 1. Most importantly, sector Feng Shui or paying homage to a sector is not a realistic way to practise Feng Shui. 2. The rationale is because it is too general to be of use for anyone. Statistically, it makes no sense to relate SW = romance sector. 3. In many of the past examples, I given such an example:- 4. Assuming that SW = romance sector, what happens if three of us are intrested in a new employee? 5. Based on the `romance sector theory' that we often read from some books, it says that we have to enhance it. 6. In my case, I place 1 rose on my SW sector. While, you have heard me doing so and decided to place 99 roses on your work …

Don`t think too much about all those stars! They are not too dangerous as we used to think. The worst of them is 5 so it is the only star we should think of. It is in NW of each house this year and we know what to do with this. What about your plants... You can place them anywhere you like but in the bedroom.Justtake a good care of your plants. If they are good looking and healthy it is good Fengh Shui. A bedroom is the only place where it doesn't have to be any plants.

Dear Anon, It is more fruitful therefore to re-string it to a 6 rod wind chime. Usually, if your house is a period 7 house; and since this is just after the new Lunar year, the year in question especially East no longer has #5 while South no longer has #2 (although there may be other numbers). Given this, some homes (depending on the flying star at the specific sector) may no longer has two #5's in some homes. (Although some homes may still have two #5's or #5 misfortune/sickness with #2 sickness). For those homes that does not have two #5's (or #5 with #2) then, the influence at this sector will get better during this year (unless #5 or #2 flies in to that specific …

Dear Lee, 1. In Feng Shui, if one has an `L-shaped' living room or living cum dining room; one should take advantage of (top-down view) of "two rectangular" shaped areas. Imagine here that a partition on one side of the wall with walking space - will imply two rectangle areas. This is the best configuration for an `L-shaped' room/area. 2. If you have a sketch of your existing `L-shaped' layout and/or a proposed sketch; feel free to upload it as a message (Attachment file) for me to make my comments. Otherwise, you may explain further or describe further (Forgive me -- hopefully, I can understand and comment somewhat on it) for you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Rochi, Please see below:- This is because the normal Flying Star Feng Shui is meant only for a "horizontal" analysis. But it is not meant to analyse a ground level house no. For those who are not aware, this free module is available under www.geomancy-online.com. For other numbers, you may have to use other numberolgy methods to find out. 1. a garage especially with a vehicle has lots of metal and can be considered `big metal' element. 2. The other consideration is `safety' concerns. I am not sure how many cars suddenly burn by themselves but this is one of the considerations or the `fear' or unneccessary fear of it? There is a I am unable to comment on …

Dear Michal, 1. Many elements of "Shapes and Form" School of Feng Shui is about commonsense approach. 2. The main thing one should remember is that we should make the `room' fit us rather than to "re-design" ourselves to fit the environment. 3. Here, it does not sound appropriate for you to fit into the "principles of FS" based on the book, do re-examine, what you would have done if you have not picked up the book on Feng Shui. 4. Under the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, things should be `natural' e.g. placing the bed at a location where one feels comfortable. For example placing the bed against a solid wall. 5. Only after one has done the above and have the luxury…

Dear Joy, Method 1 ======== For 1967 (female):- [1.] 67 - 4 = 63 [2.] 63 / 9 = 7 remainder 0 [3.] Gua is the remainder 0 (which is treated as Gua 9) I believe you took the value 7 which is not the gua number. It should be the remainder 0. Since the gua is 0, it should be treated as Gua 9 instead. You can use the method 2 to in the Applied Feng Shui course to verify this. It also gives you 9 instead of 7. Method 2 ======== For 1967 (female): [1.] 6 + 7 = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4 [2.] 4 + 5 = 9 [3.] Gua is 9 You can use the Method 2 which is an easier method. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, When confronted with such issues, we can logically:- 1. How long have u stayed in this house? 2. If one has stayed in the home for more than 6 months and do not encounter obstacles especially financial or health, then, the tree is not a major problem. But if it does, than, it is a potential threat to the breadwinner. 3. It is true that if the tree `mysteriously disappear' *JOKE* or has been removed, then there is no issue. 4. If it does not slice thru your main door directly, then usually this is not a threat to your main door. 5. If despite of Para 4, one faces problems, then, try to check for other leaks (either several minor leaks) or a combination of one o…

Dear Kath, In fact, having a house number with a `4' in it very common, throughout the world. Given this situation, it boils down to our own personal `thinking'. Frankly don't think too much about it. A house number is hardest if not nearly impossible to change. However, if you live in a landed property, many people, have symbolically `raised' the lettering of their house number e.g. at the main gate pillar etc.. For example, the number raised looks like: 4 6 Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Is it okey to put your mirror facing the main door? Generally, this isn't recommended. The reason is because the mirror may bounce your Qi out of the house, thus Qi will not be able to circulate inside the house. Hope that helps. Dear Wasis, For info, there may be deviations in interpretation by many practitioners on this issue: 1. Fire element? Some FS practitioners may view it as a Fire element: 1.1. Some consider, electricity i.e. using the PC (chiefly thru electricity or circuit boards i.e. memory, cpu and hardware as Fire element. Where fire = electricity. 1.2 If the business is related to software production, and thru the end result the `package': A marketing or sales personnel, who markets the product can be considered under the Fire element. Or hopefully under the Fire element (with the hope) that the product can be successful i.e. `fiery' sales or preference for activity. 2. Water element…

Dear Anon, One of the basic questions involving the bed room has to do with the level or balance of yin / yang. Here, Yin relates to rest. While Yang relates activity. Therefore, " Yin " is favoured instead of Yang especially in a bedroom. Where rest should be more important. However, especially for the growing i.e. children or students, especially if they are studying, should have a mix of yin and yang in the bedroom especially if this location allows them for work and later for rest. A water fountain depending on its size, may create a MORE Yang condition and with an aquarium. There is no hard and fast rule to say that one should not use such items in the bedroom other …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Could you please tell me what is the 8 aspirations chart report, 8 house report and yearly flying star for? and I would like to know which report takes priority when I use it. The order of important is as follows:- 1) Flying Star is to assess the luck of your home using a mathematical formula. This tells you where is your illness/misfortune stars and even where is your wealth star. Any inauspicious star has to be neturalised while any wealth star should be activated. So you need to correct this irregardless of whether a room is suitable to a person or not. 2) Eight House is to tell you whether a house suits you or not, or whether there is a…

Dear Kaushal, In my opinion, other than if the house has good Feng Shui qualities and if the buyer is aware of FS, one can use it as a selling tool. Otherwise, I read with `amusement' some `cures' suggested include tie a ribbon etc... Many factors include the selling price, market conditions and equally ... luck. Regards, Cecil

Dear Rochiel, In my opinion, it is very diffcult to apply `sector' Feng Shui to one's life. As Feng Shui is all about luck, it would be best that one applies a holistic approach in trying to increase one's luck. However, under Flying Star Feng Shui, there is the #mountain / #water combination and for certain houses, their will be abundant romance luck; while for other houses non-exisitent. What can we learn from this? It is not always easy to rely soley on " Feng Shui " for our romance luck. And pin our hopes in it. We would have to "actively" pursit romance.. either letting friends know etc.... As to having flowers real or artificial; in my opinion, it is acceptable in …

Dear Anon, I believe there are two sides of the "coin": 1. Usually, on one side of the coin, even if we are correct, the person who owns the house has a major say or decision. 2. In my opinion, to equate South = fire element is quite a raw analysis. And therefore, should not be relied on totally. 3. Under the Traditional Feng Shui, when painting a room, it is based on two steps: 3.1 Flying Star of that specific sector Under the Flying Star theory, it does not mean that South = fire and fire is at this sector. Contrary to this, it is best to look at the relationships of all three elements : MS # with WS # with Base #. And work out what is the element either absent or…

Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: Question: If someone's house number is, as an example, 90 and their Kua number is 1, is there any benefit to penciling in a 1 to make the house number appear as if it is 190 or 901 (which would add up to a 1) even though it is really not? However, in your mailing address it will still be written as 90 right? So it is not going to really help instead it may make your postman frustrating to locate your home. As mentioned in many other post, auspicious number is really subjective and different people have different preference. I can tell you some people dislike 4, but there are others who will love it. The luck of a home does not come from …

Dear Norma, Since you are occupying only one side of the house, the centrepoint should be taken only on your side of the house. As for the breadwinner, although both roughly earn the same salary, with regards to Feng Shui, usually, if this is the case, the `male' or your husband should be taken as the breadwinner. Warmest Regards, Cecil
