Dear Todd, Congratulations! For a newbie, you did a great job in researching and constructing a Flying Star Chart. 1. Yes, given that Grand Duke is at SW this year, it is indeed a good idea to give up on placing the tub at this sector, here. 2. At South-East sector, quickly: #1 = water #2 bad earth and #4 is wood. Quoting your research: "Lu Qi V2.3 Flying Stars of House - Metal is the cure, as it weakens the Earth and strengthens the Water of the good star 1. Possibly Wood, which fed by Water, controls the aggressive Earth of 2. But no mobile Water, that would activate the bad star 2!" Dear Tervino, I `sympathise' with the "confusion" of the 8house and flying star. 1. For the Flying Star: 1.1 Priority should be given to look at imbalances within a specific sector. 1.2 For example, even in a very auspicious sector, there may be an imbalance caused. Once the imbalance is `neutralised', this would generally under the 20 Year Flying Star period, can range from good to auspicious or very auspicious sector. 1.3 After knowing the above, then you can `superimpose' the Eight House of an indiviual "over this ". 1.4 If it is a very aupicious sector under Flying Star and equally, it is an aupicious sector under Eight House e.g. Prosperity, Health etc... all the bet…

Dear Valeria, 1. The key to understanding the Eight House Theory is that one must be physically present at that location or spent more time at these sectors. For example, if it happens that your bed is at the South (disaster) sector, here, you are spending time at this sector. 2. This theory does not mean that one need to place a `cure' at the South-East (death sector). If one does not spent some time there, this is fine. 3. Contrast this with the Flying Star analysis where each sector has three elements i.e. #mountain star #water star and base numbers which is represented by an element each. Here, if there is an imbalance caused at a specific sector, then a balance or c…

In my opinion, door to door sales is quite tough. But again, selling cutlery is truely an honest living and should be seen in that context. 4. There is really no issue nor inauspicous with regards to this. So far, the only auspicious beliefs are in relation to gifts:- It is a no no to give a loved one either shoes or a clock. 5. In Feng Shui, the only other issue is more of a common sense, in to living any sharp knifes around. This is especially not safe for younger children. Wishing you all the best in whatever you do:) …

  8. 1. Frankly, there are so many unknowns; on such a simple question. 2. For example; in order for wealth leak; it starts from even simple things as : Location, location and location. 3. Even if the toilet at the center-point is considered a leak; often in order to have things like wealth leak(s); usually a home would most likely have at least THREE major leaks. 4. We all know that if we live in an apartment, there is no (like the British say "no bloody" way) thatwe move the toilet/ it's plumbing etc... 5. Dear Manoj, I would strongly recommend a Three-step approach in understanding not just e.g. the Eight House Theory; the Flying Star Theory but any other concepts or theories. As an example of the Three-step approach we first find out what the Flying Star Theory is: 1. The purpose of the Flying Star chart is plot out the `Birth Chart' of a house. Here, we must know when the house was `born'. 1.1 We should also find out it's strength and weakness. 1.2 For example, one of it's strength is that not only it can plot out the birth chart of a house, it can help to diagnose and neutralise the house or problems associated with the house. As the common denominator is based on the …

Dear Anon, Breadwinner refers to:- 1. When assessing a home, the breadwinner can be said to be the person who brings in the most money to the household. 2. If there are two `breadwinners' and each contributes to half of the money for the household, then usually, for computation purposes, it would have to be the male or the husband who should be considered the `breadwinner'. 3. The `breadwinner' need not be the owner of the home. It can be someone renting the home and in this case, we look for a `breadwinner' i.e. the person who pays the rental and earns the most in the home (rental). In this case, for assessment of the home (both homes), you can use your sister's part…

Dear Anon, What you mentioned is too general to say for sure what may be `wrong' with your relationship luck. This is because, there are quite a substantial number of reasons for this: 1. It may be your home (Earth luck). Here, it may involve as many as two major Feng Shui theories such as Shapes and Form and Compass School methods. (There could be perhaps some Shapes and Form - problems and/or Flying Star related `relationship' problems that may need to be neutralised. 2. It may be your Ba Zi (Pillars of Destiny - Heaven's Luck) 3. Other than the above, it may be other reasons beyond 1 or 2. Using Gua (Kua) cannot help here as it is not meant to help find out about rela…

Dear Anon, It is very common for FS practitioners to apply basic Ba Zi. Most commonly, depending on the FS practitioners and their methods, usually, out of convenience or simplicity, some may simply use:- 1. Year of birth 2. Month of birth It depends on the practitioner. Some look at Year only, some look at month only some look at year, month, day and time. It is always prudent to ask the FS practitioner what level of analysis are doing for you. Some practitioners may apply Year, Month, Day and Time but this does not mean that all practise or sue same methods. The better FS practitioners would apply Year, Month, Day, Time and House of Life and House of Conception. This i…

Dear Jo, Nowadays, most jobs involve multi-skills. Thus one has to find out further the main skills involved. For example, in accounting, some people end up doing data inputs and thus their main scope of work has shifted to `computing'. However, I understand that you have asked questions relating to a job and what their elements are, it would not be fruitful for me to reply to each and every one of such questions. Perhaps, if you want to find out more, one can refer to my Applied Feng Shui electronic publication under the chapter " Five elements " which I have listed many types of jobs and the element they belong. Dear Anon, There are two dimensions when looking at the placement of a fish tank: 1. Shapes and Forms Often, the advise is to place it on the same wall along (but not close to) the main door. (Around the main door location) Avoid placing it at the centrepoint of the house. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui Under Flying Star Feng Shui, locations that has #7 and or #6 (PLUS) also that this is a water location e.g. the living room area - can be considered acceptable for a water postion. But under Flying Star, becareful not to place a water position at locations which #3 or #4 or multiples of these bad wood element. Dear Sophia, Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. But most of the time Human Luck is equally important. Human luck often relates to family ties / family bonding / relationships and yes, hobbies. Since this is your husband's past-time or hobby, like many others, it is perfectly all right to collect them as this brings a good sense of feeling for him. Is also indirectly good for the family. Dear Jumin, 1. Please refer to the destructive cycle chart under the Five elements concept: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 2. Let's take a simple example:- 2.1 Case 1 : A Strong Metal person ================================== If one looks at the chart carefully; Metal destroys Wood. Here, imagine that one has a strong metal implement and a block of wood. In the hands of a scupture; this block of wood that costs a few dollars can be transformed into an object of art. Here, this piece of wood is worth much more. For example, cheap labour in China can convert this simple block of wood into a three-legged toad figurine. Where the block of wood cost…

Dear Newsgroup Guest, Frankly, if Feng Shui is to be applied, a home has to be Feng Shuied first before such advise is given. Looks like you may have to use your intuition. Or, often, seek opinion of your spouse and even family members as to which colour; everyone like or prefer. In my opinion, the amount of light filtering thru to this long corridor should be taken into consideration. For example, if the long corridor is often `dark', then, it makes more sense to use a lighter coloured overlay carpet or carpet that can bounce off more light. Then dark coloured ones that often absorb light. Another consideration (not Feng Shui)is that unfortunately, light coloured `heavy'…

    1. Yes, Feng Shui cannot be done by remote control. If you don't stay at the (that) home, you will not be affected by it. 2. I understand that bamboos grow in clusters. And does not have a single tree TRUNK. If so, there is no impact with the clusters of trunks and branches of a bamboo plant on the Feng Shui of your home. 3. As we are not privilege to see what it is like, you may consider making a decision to keep or remove it especially if "darkens" the main entrance vis a vis covering the piping.

  21. Dear Sarina, Since you are refering to the Eight Associate Directions (Wealth and Marriage Sector). This is considered a static Theory, just like some of the those based on bagua (NW=Metal etc). Usually, these are placed on the least priority to focus on when trying to create a Feng Shui friendly location. Simply because they are not personalised to anyone, so it is unlikely to be of great impact to anyone. Also, usually we are more focus to try to fix problems that exists such as Sha Qi or Poison Arrow created from sharp corners of objects in the house which cuts into a person working in that area. This means that you always try to fix problems which you can see and not …

Dear Dirk, When one is using simplified analysis, using only the Year of birth, your Chinese star chart will be based on e.g. Fire-Dragon. Ref: www.lovesigns.net (Year of birth module). The free report would correctly indicate your element. However, the element and strength should be taken into consideration. For example, weak wood or strong wood. A weak wood person should have addition of water element to help wood to grow. A strong wood person differs from a weak wood person in that the strong wood should be neutralised. Here, he can make use of metal element. Where metal destroys wood to create wealth. Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Say Pew, Yes, for charting a Flying Star analysis; one vital information is the date of birth of the house i.e. the date the house has been built or when a major renovation has been done. For example, you can visit this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/calendar.htm Period 7 is between 1984 to 2003. While Period 6 is between 1964 to 1983. Especially if the house was built say in 1989 and currently does not have any major renovations done to it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Try to do a SEARCH for recent articles on "Facing Direction" of the home. 2. Try to measure the "frontage" based on the most yang qi or "brightest qi" of the home. Majority of the time if your apartment building has a "single" face, try to check if it fits the description of most yang qi.
