Dear Suzanne, 1. Under the Five element concept, it is true that fire produces or fuels earth element. If we take just this two element flow. 2. However, this is not the "end" of the world. Earlier on, you are just looking at what is known as a "TWO-ELEMENT" flow i.e. Fire give rise (or fuels) Earth (full stop). But it does not end, here. 3. One can look at it from a wider spectrum i.e. move into or apply a three element flow i.e. FIRE - 6. To get around the concern of: not able to introduce say Red, or Green or some other colours because of one reason or the other, we can instead, introduce the entire "range" of the Five elements. This is simply known as FIVE-ele…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- My advise is that if (one really wants to hang a windchime) it would be better to hang a 6 rod (hollow) wind chime instead of 5 rods wind chime. Symbolically 5 rods could invariably; represent "bad earth #5 element). A six rod windchime symbollically represents 6 metal or `Big metal'. You could hang the wind chime 1/2 feet away from the door. In my opinion, it would not be advisable to place an altar facing the main door. Or exactly facing the main door. The rationale is that it may be considered `disrespectful' as this may imply that the altar `gods' are tasked to look after the home. Much like a `security' guard. It would be advisab…

Dear Anon, I believe, what you mentioned is a very common dilemma `affecting' many (many couples/families). Thus one consolation is that you are not alone in this. In many of the messages on Eight House concept in this forum: 1. It is good if the death or disaster sector is not at the main entrance particularly for the `breadwinner.' 2. The breadwinner is one who is considered to bring in the most money to the family. 3. Other than this, we should look at the sleeping sectors and what intangible force affects each member of the family. 4. Here, for example, if the bedroom is at North compass direction and is not a favourable direction for the husband but is a good sector …

Dear Anon, Flying Star imbalances must be corrected regardless of what element you may be. After you work in the cure for the sector, then you can work on creating the necessary influence for you and your husband. For a Strong Earth and Strong Metal person, you will need to have Water (blue/black/gray) and Wood (green/brown) elements to keep the Strong Earth and Strong Metal in check. Once a cure is placed, just focus on other decoration in the room to ensure that they are favourable to both of you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.

Dear Anon, In my opinion, if one cannot position the bed otherwise; the position is still acceptable even if behind the solid wall is a restroom. Especially if the opposite wall / adjoining wall does not have the toilet bowl or it's piping. If I gather what u mentioned correctly, the wall behind your daughter's bed is the sink. Alternatively, place the bed against another solid wall (if possible). If you have a sketch of the layout, perhaps you can upload it here (under an attachment) so that I can take a look at it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cecil.. I understand that there are many similar questions and probably that is why you ignored this request. Let me try and rephrase my question so that you know that I am not getting answers from other Qs etc. 1. As mentioned the T Jn faces the balcony and not the main door. Is it still a threat? 2. What all solutions exist for solving.. like earthern lamps; bagua mirror; planters/plants... will lighting two cormers of balcony with Electric lamps also solve? 3. The house in fact feels like it is in a chairman;s seat since the road ahead (The Road hitting my house) is lined by houses on both side NO POSITIVE EFFECT?? 4. Since there are houses on both sides th…

Dear Rae, Frankly, Feng Shui is not so simplistic. It is difficult to achieve a `break thru' by paying homage to a corner i.e. career corner. Or feeling disappointed for some that `my toilet' is in the career sector. In my opinion, it is best not to practise FS in such situations. Usually, many have gone to paying homage to a corner and the end result is to buy items or materials or objects to enhance these sectors. The people who benefit from such `beliefs' are those selling the commercial wares who ultimately make the profit. Under the Eight House Theory, it is usually the time spent at a sector i.e. if a sector is e.g. the death sector but if one does not spent time th…

Dear Rochiel, 1. In my opinion, paying homage to a sector i.e. SW = Romance sector is too general to be applied to everyone in the world. 2. Can I confirm, how NW was derived as your Romance sector? 3. I believe, the size and types of crystals are really material objects and should merely serve as an interior decorative object. As there is no relation with the Five Elements Concept - which is the key to Traditional Feng Shui. 4. Then how are elements treated under the Five Elements Concept? 4.1 Under the Five elements concept, for example if we need to apply a `CURE'; we make sure that the cure can be EFFECTIVE. Here, this is where for example: 6 coins can be used to neut…

Dear Yang Ming, 1. The most common cure for concrete beams is the use of a pair of bamboo flutes. You can view a picture illustration under the reference link below:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?img=0&search=flute&cat=all&bool=phrase&x=7&y=12 (Simply click on the thumb-nail view for a larger view). 2. If one places a pair of flute on a beam, it can be placed on either side or one of the other side of the beam i.e. one pair of bamboo flute will do. This is onl for info: The only other option is the use of `false partition'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vicki, 1. There are two major theories/concepts to refer to on the placement of water positions. 2. The two major concepts are:- 2.1 Shapes and Form Feng Shui Here, it would depend on the type of water position. If the water position is flat e.g. a ground level pond e.g. for koi fish etc... than this can be represented by `clear space'. But if it is a fish tank, usually the fish tank is tall with leg stand, than it cannot represent `clear space'. `Clear space' is akin to a bird flying freely infront ... unobstructed. Usually water positions that provide clear space are especially good at the frontage of the home. While fish tank should be placed against a wall. Hong…

Dear Anon, Under Eight House theory, there is not much one can do. As this theory is particularly useful to select houses prior to moving in. If it is under Flying Star Feng Shui, this looks at the birth chart of the house. And since it is based on the common denominator i.e. Five Elements Concept, then if any of the sectors are considered `inauspicious' - it can easily be balanced or neutralised. Once this is neutralised under Flying Star, there is not much worry with the sector -- under Flying Star Feng Shui. However, it does not mean that it will automatically `cure' Eight House. Since, the Eight House has more to do with one spending time there. Warmest Regards, Cec…

Dear Jo Jo, Currently, I have clients that have changed to Period 8 with "mixed-results". For example, I met a business client and after having changed to Period 8 (NW3) and because their office premises can place a large water feature at water star #8 and in the MD's room, which is directly at that opposite back, with a mountain #8. The MD mentioned that after the renovations, his sales improved greatly and even a division that did not do well, had a great change. However, for another client, who is running a child-care centre from a private landed home, (a smaller place) did not make major changes, had not improved. Thus, generally, it is more important that …

Dear Karen, Chong Karen wrote: I noticed that the flow of Qi into a house is very important but nowadays everyone are closed the door whole day. How the Qi go inside the house? As example: if the main door facing NE which is excellent for the breadwinner but the door is closed all the time, additional there are a sliding full panner door facing South at living room (4 panner) and it open all the days but the door facing will not suitable for the breadwinner (Remark: this door not a entrance). Will it affact the breadwinner and which door should consider as door facing? Is NE or South? Frankly, nowadays, irregardless of main door or balcony etc. Both can also be closed fo…

Dear Kristen, Please see below:- 2. You can uitlize the 'former porch" as the sleeping area especially if it is a `proper' room even if it has lower ceiling. When I mentioned about a `proper' room, what I mean is that it should not be exposed to the elements or have a fragile ceiling. I believe this is not an issue here. 3. Next, the first consideration is where when we open say the bedroom door, can the bed be placed on the opposite wall and is this wall a full height wall. If para 3 is not the case, then, it should be placed (peferably) against a wall in relation to say the windows, attached bathroom ... Where possible, the windows do not cover an area of more …

Dear Zarminae, Under the url below:- http://www.geomancy.net/polls/ You will find an interesting survey: " Are you comfortable sleeping facing a TV set (mirror)? A short simple 3 questions survey. " In the survey, it is interesting to find that many people feel that mirrors facing the bed may not be an issue. The test here is that if you feel comfortable despite the position of the mirror in your bedroom this is acceptable. But if you feel uncomfortable especially after waking up the next morning, then... it is best to re-site the mirror. Therefore, this would have to depend on a case-by-case basis. Dear James, "The shielding effect" Under the Eight House Theory, it is good for the partners to sleep on the correct side of each other. For example, if one is a West Group (House) person e.g. best directions are North, South, West and North-West. And if the other partner has inauspicious directions, then, the person who is a West Group person should sleep closer to the compass directions Nort, South, West and North-West. While his/her partner sleeps further to this closer to East, SE, NE or SW. Thus, the person who has auspicious sectors can `shield' the other partner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear James, Often, because water is good at the frontage of the house because of the concept of `clear space'. If we have water, nothing can be built above it. This is also symbolic of a bird flying freely at the front of the house. For many Feng Shui practitioners, they are worried about `opening' the white tiger's mouth (wrongly). For example, if the water position is at the West (which is the location of the white tiger); it is symbolic of an open (hungry) mouth of the tiger. Where it is ready to pounce and engulf `people'. Often, itmay lead to financial distress. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Theresa, Yes, that is correct. If you haven't yet move-in to the house, never bring in old furnitures. New furnitures that are delivered in before the move-in is ok. The moment you bring in old furnitures, that will symbolise that you have move in the house. Thus, move in your old furnitures only after you have selected your auspicious date to move in officially. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Kerrie, Frankly, I do not know where to begin advising you on concepts such as "fame" area. These are non-traditional FS practises. Neutral colours such as white or pastel white colours are best if one is not sure what colour to paint a wall. Alternatively, instead of speculating on what to paint the wall at the "fame" area - you could perhaps, make a choice based on your personal feelings or consulting family members on the colour. Where possible, in such an instance, do not be `taken' in by suggestions on how to `brighten' up the fame area... These are not proper FS theories ... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Yang Ming, Under the Eight House Theory, there is really not much one can `cure' here. What you can do is to make sure that the `Shape and Form' Feng Shui is acceptable for you in your work area. For example, avoiding the desk facing a toilet or next to it. Or have people walking behind your table (if possible). Feng Shui is about trying to increase one's luck and if we `hit' a wall with regards to the above; we could perhaps try to increase other areas of our luck. Such as the luck in our home or personal self. Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Marie, Frankly, for a small apartment and especially if we have lots of belongings, it is always best to keep our posessions, neat and tidy. And, I know this must be hard, but if we do have boxes or unwanted items, it is best either to neatly pack them or give them away. For a small apartment - space clearing : does help Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carmela, Most important where possible for bed position, is the general placement of the bed to the entire room itself. This should always take priority, followed by when possible suitable bed placement based on your eight house directions. Sometimes the shapes and form placement does not permit you to place your bed in your best direction. This is not as important for example, if at least the bedroom sector is located within one of your good directions (ie North - Excellent, but if the bedroom is North), then even if you sleep West (ie. Spook), this is not as bad as you already get the luck form the North sector of the house. In your case where two person have op…
