Dear Anon, 1. Basically, a loupan should not be placed outside of a house or hung on the external wall. This is because if it is a real loupan, it may not withstand the prolonged weather condition. So far, I do not see anyone placing a real one let alone a replica piece. 2. Perhaps, maybe, the person advised you found that the First Heaven Sequence formation is found on it. This is why, you may have been advised to use it. Alternatively, perhaps, the person had heard that it can be used to `ward off evil'. Reference on the First Heaven Sequence formation:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm 3. For whatever reasons, a Ba Gua mirror would do the job more e…

1. Yes, it is just an expression. 2. Fu Lu Shou is never meant to be "prayed-to". Symbolically, it should be placed facing where-ever one seats. Thus, if one sits at the living room, ideally, it should be facing "you". And it is very common to be placed on a table facing the dining table. 3. Best to place it at the Living Room. If it is placed at the dining room area, the table should preferably be (nice-to-have) 49 inches to not more than 50 inches tall (based on auspicious measurement - of the Feng Shui ruler). If the table holding the Fu Lu Shou is too low, it is like when we eat, these deities are salivating... all over... 4. Never place it facing the main door. …

1. Typically, it is advisable to keep the garage separate from the main living space, but this decision ultimately hinges on the overall layout of the house. In certain cases, integrating the garage with the home may be unavoidable. 2. In general, the devil's gate concept can be linked to the Flying Star theory. If the northeast sector exhibits predominantly "yin" Flying Star numbers, then this could raise some red flags. Otherwise, it is usually not a significant concern. +++ In Summary " The inclusion of the garage in a home's Feng Shui considerations depends on the overall energy balance of the property. Additionally, the alignment of devil's gate w…

Hiya! I've been meaning to replace the dual glass doors to my room with a single solid wood one for a long while. Based on a few other aspects I was thinking to place it on the half where the bookshelf is currently covering some of the doorway. However, I wanted to take feng shui into account and I remember reading that the door to the bedroom should not be opposite from the bathroom door (the one with the broken glass). In my case drawing a straight line from the proposed door spot lands semi on the opposing wall/brother's door. However, since the bathroom door/wall has a different angle, then drawing a straight line from there lands directly where my…

Dear Sullivan, Apologies; what I was talking about has more to do with "openings" in a home that e.g. allow light to filter into it. Therefore, the idea is that, for example, if one side of the home is littered with lots of windows, doors, balcony, patio or sliding doors; therefore, it implies that with so many openings, there is a higher probability that this side is the facing direction. Although, a side where there is higher intensity could SEEM to be the facing side. But, often, this is not the main consideration. For example, for a bungalow that has four sides, and if the facing direction is North-South facing (e.g North - facing and South - sitting), just beca…

Dear Berth, Currently, it is difficult to imagine the loft you mentioned. Therefore, I can only provide feedback on certain aspects. 1. A straight staircase to the loft is not as desirable as one with a landing and turns. 2. The higher the vaulted ceiling, the better, but a 20 feet height is ideal. 3. Painting the ceiling like a sky, especially in blue, may result in problems, especially for the breadwinner. 4. If you are concerned about marriage, consider doing a Flying Star chart, especially if the inauspicious sector is in your bedroom. 5. Having a window in the house is good, and it's acceptable to place a curtain. Congratulations on…

Hi, Thanks for bringing up a refreshingly new question. In general i.e on a macro level, overall, hospitals are considered a YIN location. Frankly, all of us (doctors & nurses included) have reasonable levels of personal AURA to defend ourselves from YIN elements. 1. Nurses and physicians are in constant motion, generating active Qi. 2. Patients fall into several categories: - Some patients are frail and weak, and these individuals tend to have more YIN. - The majority of patients are in the process of recovery, and in certain hospitals, there are different classes. Some of the higher classes offer TVs or rooms shared by four people, each with …

A Flying Star Period 6 flatthat is based on a simple curve design. In the past, this design was common in HDB flats all over many parts of Singapore. However, as this designdoes not maximize the builtup area of the plot of land; hard to find this rather simplistic design where there is one long corridor to all the flats. Nowadays, there would be flats built "left-to right" of the corridor.

Hi, Would like to seek your kind guidance on this matter. Purchased a HDB and it came with a built in altar. (modern type). What can I do with it? The owner will remove 1 glass/crystal statue away. (Not sure is what statue as I did not pay attention to it much) Can I use it as a bookshelf when I move in? Because it doesn't look like an altar at all... Please advice if need to tear down the whole thing. Thank you so much! Have a nice day ahead!

These are some considerations: 1. Sun rays 1.1. Ideally, in an East / West direction; avoid the altar "soaked" in direct sunlight. 1.2. Thus if there is direct sunlight that shines and heat up the altar say from 7.30am to 10.30 or even 11 plus depending on the location it is placed, then there should be a blind or screen or curtains to shield the altar from direct sunlight.. 1.3. The above is more so, if the altar faces or has part of it soaked by the afternoon sun. It is not like you can go and buy a rayban sunglass for e.g. Guan Yin. 2. Ideally, the altar should not share the same wall as the toilet and also avoid having it face the bedrooms etc.. 3. Both in the Indian…

Dear Jun, 1. In my region, acquiring a pair of flutes featuring the phoenix and dragon design is quite simple. The phoenix, symbolizing the female, is typically hung on the left side, while the dragon, representing the male, is placed on the right side, as the dragon is associated with the East. The ease of hanging such flutes is due to the importance of ensuring that the design is not inverted, allowing for easy alignment of the mouthpiece with the pictorial representation. 2. It may not be feasible to come across a pair of flutes with similar designs in your country. In my view, if your flute showcases any illustrations, it is essential to ensure that they are…

Dear Master Lee, I have issued that renovation work is very likely to complete between 2nd to 3rd week of August that falls in 7th month. Currently my husband and myself has been staying at sister's house for nearly 2 months. I have briefly mentioned that we might require to stay till 4/9 and that sort of bothering them. Question is: is it good to move back during the period of hungry ghost month? which day is auspicious? What should be done if we have to move in during 7th month? Another question is about placement of altar table, unsure which position is suitable. regards and thanks Lynn

1. Wearing a yin yang symbol is considered inappropriate by some people. 2. Is it frowned upon to wear a yin yang symbol? A Typical Yin & Yang Symbol Dear Anon, 1. Youngsters often wear the yin and yang symbol as both a necklace and rings, showing that it can be worn without any issues. 2. I regret my earlier mistake in associating the Yin and Yang symbol with the Ba Gua trigram. It is important to clarify that the symbol alone is acceptable as it signifies balance and can be placed at the center of a house for that purpose. 3. My initial thoughts were linked to the First Heaven Sequence and the placement of the 8 trigrams. Unless it is a…

1. The act of giving shoes is a tradition in China, much like the custom of avoiding giving clocks or bells as gifts. 2. However, considering these shoes are "old", there may be some flexibility in how we perceive them as gifts. It could be seen more as a kind gesture rather than a traditional gift. 3. For individuals of other ethnicities, this may not be a concern, as there is no obligation to adhere to customs of a different culture. 4. I recall a time, many years ago, even in a predominantly Chinese community, where there was a promotion to purchase a new pair of branded sports shoes at a discount by bringing in an old pair to either recycle or donate to…

Hi Penny / Master Cecil Thanks your interest. Looking at the whole block is also quite confusing as the lift lobby is facing South, looking out at a carpark, not very bright. When I try taking South as the facing, I go back to my unit, South is the kitchen area, quite dark (less sunlight comes in here) and looks more like the back than the front. Hence I have to seek advice from Master Cecil as to where is the actual facing. What happens if my facing is my neighbours' sitting direction as point block is a square, all 4 corners has a unit. Master Cecil, would greatly appreciate your advice. Best Regards Em free-advice Listmanager wrote: From: "Emily Ho" Dear Master Ce…
