Dear David, Thanks for the layout plan. The P.E.S. (personal enclosed space in this case should not be included, here). For such a low floor, you should take the main door as NE instead. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Master Cecil, Attached is the floorplan of my second-hand condo brought from open market. I have the following questions and hope you could kindly advise. (1) Is this GROUND FLOOR house consider SE facing (Front Door) or SW facing (Patio) ? (2) Due to strong wind (practically every minute) blowing from NW to SE, the swimming pool water just infront of the patio is very cold all the time.....is there any fengshui implication ? Not so much wind flowing from SW direction due to a nearby building infront but strong wind most of the timefrom the Kitchen/Yard. (3) Is a STRONG FIRE person suitable for this house? Thanks

Hi Anon, In terms of beams, ideally it is best not to be able to see it if possible. Anonymous wrote: We have just finished building our dream house, actually its a loghouse so the problem is we have big beams over our beds and in the living room area, also we have a big log postsupporting the secondfloorareain the middle of the living room. So usually, two most efficient ways to go about it is to either have a false ceiling which will hide the beams. Or to have a bed with those canopy beds which you can place like curtain or cover on top. That should help you shield the beams from your view when you are sleeping on the bed. These two are two more practical ways rather…

Appended by Cecil: Please note that this is only a Free GENERAL advice forum (full stop) Dear Master Lee, Uploaded is the floorplan that I have drawn out to facilitate my questioning and for you to help me more clearly. Overall, I designed the house and would like to get some simple advice from you on some of the questions below after hearing some people's opinion on "feng shui". 1) Is it "bad" for someone to sleep with head facing west? I know that heading towards East is a revitalising strength. But the room nearest to the living room would have the occupier's head seen from the outside, which I think isn't very good. Am I right? 2) Because there is some space betw…

There are unfortunately 4 doors in my bedroom, however I keep 2 of them (almost) permanently closed and locked. The only ones I use regularly are the main entryway and the door to the ensuite bathroom. However, the bathroom door is directly facing one of the locked doors (which lead out to a small balcony), and my bed is situated in between. I understand this is bed feng shui. My questions are these: 1. Is the effect of 2 opposing doors negated because I keep one always locked? From what I've researched, it seems people who live in rooms facing each other argue a lot. Since I'm the only one in my room, surely this is no problem? 2. For the negative effect of a bat…

1. Feng Shui has two major schools: 1.1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; 1.2. Compass School Feng Shui: Eight House and Flying Star 2. I can only comment on Para 1.1: this is a general advice forum and not a I do it for you sort of thing: It is so easy to add the compass direction, but there is a lot of work needed for such an evaluation. And often it also has to include the breadwinners date n time of birth. If you can, DIY on your own.

1. Please see attachment with my comments in it. Two formats available: either: .pdf format or .png Anonymous wrote: Dear Master Cecil, Could you please advise on the planning of the hall layout as per attached: 1) The kitchen is within the line of sight of the main door entrance. I am planning to build a partition to block it. Full height or half height? 2) Is the current location of the dining table acceptable? 3) The fridge is beside the toilet wall. Should I change it with the sink? 4) The sofa is also directly in line with the entrance. Is this ok? Thanks and gratefully yours, Anon

Hi Cecil and Jacqueline Maybe the lady in question has inauspicious Flying stars in her bedroom thus rendering pregnancy difficult. Mountain stars # 7 and #9 I understand are female stars, maybe this could help. Furthermore, Mountain Stars #1 and #2 can cause miscarriage etc. A client of mine had a miscarriage a few months ago, bought a new house, the #9 star was in her bedroom and she became pregnant fairly quickly actually. Just a thought....... Cheers Glyn

Dear ashwini, For the installation of chiming clocks, it is best to use it at locations that has a cluster of bad Flying star numbers. For example, it can be used independently if one sector has either one #5 or #5 combined with other bad stars like #2, or #3 or #4. For the centre of the home where the three doors are aligned. There is no issue with a wind chime there. But in my opinion, it is more "cosmetic" than effective. But if it does help to "calm the nerves" by all means. Since many of our uncomfort is due to "worring too much". Warmest Regards, Cecil

Again, thanks for your wonderful advices to all of us. I am speaking here like I am the spokesman for us all, but I really do appreciate each and everything you advises whether it will benefit me or not but I have learned so much so far from what I have already read from you site and believe me, I did read each and every thing from your site and saved some portions of it especially the instructions on how to determine the centre of the house and determining the front door and so on and so forth along these lines. I have done a partial Flying Star analysis, that is the main trouble so I am getting more curiouser and curiouser about Feng Shui after also acquiring the …

Dear Chris, Chris Yeo wrote: I am interested in buying a condo on the 14th floor whosehall and 2 bedrms face a HDB carpark where the cars when moving in the carpark, would face it directly. Pls let me know if there is any cause for concern. If you are on a low floor (below 5 level), you will be affected by it. Those, staying in the 2nd and 3rd floor will be worst hit. Since you are staying on 14th floor, it will not impact you any more, as you are too high up for anything to have much impact for your unit. So it should not be a problem for you. Hope that helps. Dear Cecil Thanks for your clarification. Please note that:- to begin wtih, my purpose is more to support/boost my career rather than to counteract sha-qi. but, as time goes by, whenever i look at my little aquarium, i feel peaceful. so, yeah, its a hobby to me as well now. i must go check with aquairum people if guppies and gold fish can 'live' together. i find guppies very colourful and lively. i will check that out. thanks. my aquarium is only a small one, 11/2 by 2 by 1 feet, with small gold fish in it. i place it at the SE sector along the SE-East wall. is this alright? smallness of the aquarium is not a problem, is it? remember in my earlier emails way b…

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it is crucial to analyse not only the house but also do a general survey of the site where the house is situated. 2. This is because, many times, we forget about the external environment. It is like doing up a wonderful house to come home to. But everything else outside of the house may be "crumbling". This may be an extreme interpretation, but the interior of the house is just one of the many aspects of good Feng Shui assessment. 3. Sometimes, simple things like standing at the front of the main door and looking out to check for poison arrows. And in turn, stand at each window and look out of the house to check for poison arrow(s). Poison arr…

Dear Jen, Please go thru some of the resources here:- House Hunting: Can or Cannot buy? http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-hunting/po-hunting-faq.htm In fact, many times I have been taken advantaged of with regards to the above. For example, in the past, I had to literally `put-down' every other work to help these people. The faster I help analyse each case, it does not seem to be appreciated. What's more, often I hear of "threats" - The agent says, I must confirm OR ELSE.. In fact, there were many cases where some clients (I did for free) literally - gave me the entire development's plans and help them find good choice units. One even asked me could I identify good hous…

Dear Cecil, About 5 months after moving to his new house, my uncle got an accident last week. Today, I visited him. After seeing his house, I suspect something wrong with the house. He was born on 1942 (Horse year). The house sits on West. I think the ceiling is a coffered one. Although I am not so sure. His stove is located at the hallway and faces West. His house has 2 straight paths. But I have told him to install some screen dividers. One of the toilets is looking outward to the garage door. These are the remedies I suggest: 1. For the coffered ceiling, install a new flat ceiling just below the old one (not replace the old one). 2. For the kitchen at the hallway, inst…

Please don't think of Feng Shui as monotone. In fact, there are so many flavours of Feng Shui:- http://www.geomancy.net/events/CDL_FS_Talk/talk_1_slide_19.htm Unfortunately, many think that Feng Shui is Fung Sway and think in terms of the myopic tunnel. And it is also does not revolve around the ba gua mirror. Where some think that it is the mother of all cures. Furthermore, without the ba gua mirror is not like armageddon...

Dear Kumar, kumar g wrote: mywife was born on 9 july 1985 . so what will be her age according to chinese calenderas on 10 october 2005 . is it 20 years 3 months or 21 years . Just count her age from the lunar birth date 22 day 5th month 1985 year. The age as on lunar date 10 day 10month 2005 year would be 20 years 3 months. This is usually the best way to count your date based on whether it pass your next lunar birth date. This is the best way to count just like your western birthdate. The reason why there is some who will consider it 21 years, is because they only count by the year. Meaning that though you are born on 22 day 5th month 1985, they will consider that age…

Dear Georgy, Georgy Ivanov wrote: Is bad to put aguarium in my room.In many sites write that, bedroom is not place for aquarium. In that room I sleep study and make all my things. My personal element is strong metal. Thanks in advance. I do personally feel that it is not advisable. A bedroom should be quiet for good night rest. That is why bedroom is usually classified as Yin. With activities from fishes swiming or the light in the aquarium all these creates more yang. So not really good for bedroom. The more scientific reason would be the water in the fish tank tends to have a certain type of fishy smell, plus depending on the fish some fish/water featuremay make some no…
