Dear Brenda, 1. Often, the remodel would "Fly" your home to a Period 7 chart given that you had built two new rooms to your home. 2. Nevertheless, if you have the time, you can chart out both the Period 6 and Period 7 chart. 3. Since last year, I had been drawing both Period 7 and Period 8 charts for all on-site clients. Unlike Period 6 charts: Period 7 and Period 8 seems quite `similar' in problem areas for the same sectors. 4. Often, the difference would be instead of sickness sectors; this has been `replaced' by #4 or #3 (bad wood). And often, in many instances, if the Period 7 chart is not that good; Period 8 also does not seem that good also. 5. If one has the time,…

Dear Sagarika, As mentioned, previously, Feng Shui is not a `cure all'. Your situation has very much to do with "Human / Man luck" situation - than Earth Luck (Feng Shui). It is good to hear that both of you are in love:) Frankly, it would be a waste of money and time to go and buy a pair of mandarin ducks. What is more important is that your love endures! And often, this superseeds any other hurdles. And, in such a situation, often, many parents - will one day yield to your answers! Both of you continue to build on your relationship - and most of all be patient with your parents! Warmest Regards, Cecil Can Feng Shui help me in Waiting for your

Dear Stan, Under Flying Star Feng Shui; each number represents an element. This is where #7 represents `small metal'. While #1 represents water element. And #6 represents `big metal' Often a "fail-safe" system is where should one of the 7 gold fish dies, often, one is still left with 6 gold fishes with 1 black fish. Under the Productive sequence of the Five elements concept: Metal supports Water element. Thus, this is why, 7 gold fishes with 1 black is often mentioned - for fish tank. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Lee; I'm interested in the application of feng shui for the house (interior & exterior) I've been visiting your web site and must tell you that it's exceptional on advise and information especially for the beginner. I'm moving into a wonderful house. It's being built for my husband and I. My questions are in regard to information that I've been reading about. I trust your response due to the fact that your experience is outstanding. I realize that we all have auspicious compass directions and some not so auspicious. In every home according to the compass we will have areas that aren't very good. How do I make the most out of the good areas and how do I c…

Dear Anon, In the `Holy Trinity' of Chinese destiny and astrology:- 1. Heaven's Luck This is our given luck. 2. Earth Luck 2.1 Here, a percentage of our earth luck (Feng Shui) can influence `romance/relationships'. 2.2 Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui. A simple example of how romance can influence us is: often, if the `mouth' of our house is big e.g. on the frontage area, there is both a main entrance as well as a patio area where often, the owners - fully open the sliding door area of this patio/living room. Often in such a situation, children may not get married or remain bachelors .... 2.3 Flying Star Feng Shui In some homes, combination of star numbers h…

Warmest regards Mater Lee and many thanks for your previous advise. Today I am struggling with the placement of the Dining Room. Both my husband and myself are SouthEast facing and if I follow the eight houses theory I would be best to place the Dining Room in East/Longevity or South/Health position. My confusion is that the front door would occupy SE and it is not good to put the dining table in a position beside the door. All the houses we have been viewing have a floorplan which places the dining room on one side of the door opening onto the foyer with the office on the opposite side of the foyer with doors to close it off. Directly along the hall from the front door i…

I have read that having a staircase in front of the main entry is not good. Does this mean the steps should not face the main door and/or the staircase should not be positioned directly in front of the main door. We are considering a home with the entry opening into a spacious foyer. However, the the curving staircase is positioned in front of the main entry with the steps facing slightly offset and away from the main entry. The main entry points towards the the steps. The face of the steps is approximately a 45 degrees offset to main entry and point towards a wall next to the main entry. How would this layout be interpreted. Thank you.

Dear Master Cecil: I tried the tool provided by the geomancy.net to take a look at the flying star of my house and found that 2, 3, and 5 are at my main entrance. Those are the worst combination of numbers, is it right? What should I do? Sell my house and move? I am very worried. Please help. Regards, Jen

Dear Sir: I have a question that stems from complete confusion so please forgive me. My husband and I just purchased a house that is to be built this year. The great thing is, we are both house compatible, I'm north he's south (Kan and Li) My distress is this; our master bedroom (S.W.) is in my death and his irritation direction. The headboard will be in an east direction and no mirrors will be in the room. How do I cure this? I was especially careful in selecting the right house, this is the only room which is a problem. The other less desirable rooms are toilets and garages which will be closed to the rest of the house. My confusion is that of activating our best direct…

  13. Robert or Cecil, In regards to the pond in the N.W. corner of our lot.Would this be a place for it?.It will have a waterfall, also should the water be running toward the house or away?I once read that water running toward the house represents money coming in, and running away from the house means losing money. Thanks so much for your reply to this matter. We have had this hole dug in our front yard for a long time now.We really haven't had the extra money to finish it. Diana

Dear Master Cecil: I apologize for not being clear about the description of the house. The front door opens up to a "good size" foyer area. There is only one staircase leading up to the second floor. The staircase is on the left hand side of the foyer area. Nonetheless, the staircase is "not" situated in the range of the front door. The other end of the foyer is (1) a closet (for guests to hang their coats) and (2) a hallway that leads to a room for families to eat breakfast and snacks. To be specific, when the front door opens up, the first view farther to the foyer is the side wall of the closet, which occupies roughly more than 1/2 of the range of the front door. And t…

Dear Anon, 1. To the Chinese, it is inauspicious to have the legs facing outwards towards the bedroom door. This is often called the `coffin' position. (Where, traditionally, we bring out a dead person: legs first - head later out of a home. 2. A bed need not be farther away from the door, but as mentioned, it is best not to face the door. (For privacy, it is preferred that we often do not want to sleep too close to the door.) Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Dear Anon, 1. Perhaps, we can look at it from a different perspective: 2. Could one night light imply "ONE NIGHT STAND?" Or worse if there are two night stands? Does it mean that one of the spouse has "TWO NIGHT STANDS?". *JOKE* 3. Frankly, these are pretty minor in Feng Shui. But on an asthetic side, often, a queen bed seem to look `more balanced' or uniform with two lamps on each side. Then again, it is not very critical in Feng Shui. 4. Here, we can look at it also from "commonsense" approach i.e. it would be more convenient at night for each partner to turn on and off the light when they go to e.g. the bathroom or outside the hall. Otherwise, the next time, …

Dear Anon, 1. If the apartment is high; i.e. if one looks out of the window and cannot see the pole; then it is not a threat. 2. Often, an apartment that is higher than 4th storey, would not have a lone lamp post slicing into it. 3. In several studies, there were no reported evidence that power lines cause `Sha qi'. - Magnetism from powerlines is unlike radiation e.g from the sun or micro-wave etc... 4. For the barren field, it is ok if it is not an entire `long stretch' e.g. streching from several miles. If the field is e.g. a small area such as one or two foot-ball field and after this, there are building complex; it is usually ok. Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regar…

Dear Anon, House numbers has more to do with one's preferences or culture. In particular, many Chinese (Cantonese) do not like number number 4 or if a series of number sounds inauspicious. Otherwise, there is no basis in Feng Shui on house numbers. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Santanu, Please see below:- Currently, even with the Chinese 7th month, I am currently very busy with continously never ending stream of audits and may take sometime to reply to all the questions posted here. I am Santanu Biswas - My date of birth: The most practical approach in applying Feng Shui is via "priorities". Here, we should be aware of what are CRITICAL and what are NICE-TO-HAVE situations: Critical issues: 1. Shapes and Forms of the room 1.1 Often, our placement of beds and furniture e.g. work/study table has much to do with the layout of a bedroom: where is the bedroom door, what shape does the bedroom take? where is the toilet, toilet door; w…

Dear Gek Soo, There are two ways of looking at fire positions: 1. The stove can be considered as a fire protection. Not so much of activating it but rather to see, if it is at a favourable location. 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, often, the star numbers at a specific location has to be looked at. And, if there are imbalance in a sector, we can in this way `activate' a "fire element". For example: Period 7 South-East 2 (135 degrees house) East sector has:- mountain star #6 water star #4 base star = 5 Here, Metal 6 destorys wood, wood element is destroyed or weakened by metal. Wood star 4 is inauspicious. However, meal is not sufficient. Here, a FS practitioner may recomen…

Honestly, such `fixed' concepts are often too general to be of use to anyone. For a start, is it still possible to `undo' the things that you had done previously. This is because, currently without much information or nor applying proper Feng Shui eg. Flying star etc... I don't have a clue (or is gropping) in the dark. Here, you may have to use `trial and error' FS. In my opinion, do try to forget about the notation of " relationship corner ", " creativ…

Dear Sonali, 1. The most important consideration for a home is, first and foremost the external environment, the site and the building or home. 2. Within the four walls; as you had mentioned; placement of beds are often restricted by the size of the bedroom, the location of the bedroom door, the windows and any attached bathrooms. 2.1 Therefore, given such a situation; preferably - the bed-head should be placed against a solid wall. 2.2 Under the Eight House, if the one's head cannot face a good direction or especially if the bedroom is unfavourable to a spouse; let the spouse with the better `intangible' force sleep closer to the side closest to this `intangible' force.…

Dear Mr. Lee, If for the male in a house the ideal property is for the door to face southwest and for the female of the house it would be for the door to face northeast then is a property that faces east a problem? If it is then what if the main door used to enter or exit was in fact facing north? Another question is what if anything is symbolized or caused by having a church across the street?

Dear Susan, 1. Some geomancers or users simply consider only the Year of birth. While others consider both Year and Month of birth. 2. While others look at Year, Month, Day and Time of birth. Here (geomancy.net); the House of Life and House of Conception are also considered. 3. One of the rationale is besides other considerations; the more variables i.e. stems and branches, the more we can analyse any double or triple combination clashes. These clashes sometimes are unfavourable: while other clashes are favourable. 4. House of Life or how `hard' is one's life or if one was born with a silver spoon is another consideration that can sway one's element e.g. weak water to str…
