  1. Dear Anon, 1. From past experience, usually if the toilet is exactly at the centrepoint, this is already one handicap of the home. 2. From what you had described; the toilet does not seem to be located at the centrepoint. Which seems promisingly OK. 3. However, usually it takes two or more major handicaps in the house to bring down the Feng Shui of a house. Often, these are finance/career related problems and subsequently cumulate to other problems e.g. heath, marriage etc... 4. I always emphasise that the `saving' factor is the external shapes and forms of the house and for the interior: good shapes and forms. 5. Often, simple things like qi flowing from the main entranc…

At least ensure that the child is sleeping in the better direction (this can help offset some of the unsuitability to the room itself) 3. Dear Koslan, Please see below:- 1. Thank you for raising this intriguing question. 2. Aside from the 33.3% ruleset, symbolism plays a role in Feng Shui: 2.1 For instance, when implementing a metal cure, it is not mandatory to utilize large amounts of 'metal'. In this context, 'Big metal' or substantial quantities of metal are symbolized by the number 6. Consequently, 6 i-ching coins are frequently employed to signify 'large quantities of metal'. 2.2 In reference to Para 2.1, we observe that adherence to the 33.3% ruleset is not required, allowing us to alternatively apply 'symbolism' in Feng Shui. 3. Applying a wood cure can be particularly challe…

Dear Chee Kiat, Please see below:- No, under Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, unless one is going for `battle' or in an era, where, it is used for self defense, one should not place the steel sword. This is because, objects such as this if displayed is considered `sha qi' or bad qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Started by sush,

Hi, There is only one additional thing you can do to help reduce this problem is to ensure that the bedroom which your husband stay's should be one of the good sectors of the Eight House. This will at least help to offset the problems of the unsuitablility of the house. However, the long terms solution is still to move out of the house as this house no matter how good the Flying Star is will not bring great wealth to your husband. Anyway, since you are not sure whether the main door is South-East (112.5 to 157.4 degree) or South (157.5 to 202.4 degree). Use the degree's provided to verify if your main door is South or South-East. Use a compass from somewhere at the ce…

Dear Tammie, Please see below:- As mentioned in my forum message; priority should be given (where possible) for your son to spent time at a good sector; first. After this is `satifisfied' then, it is nice to have him face e.g. his education direction NE. Thus, facing NE is secondary or less important then spending good time at a good sector - Under the Eight House Theory. But if the sector is not as good; then, one can still try to face NE. But this is as mentioned - of secondary importance. It is recommended that one understands the aim or purpose of the theory that you are currently using. The aim of Eight House theory is: 1. Find out how suitable e.g. the house…

There is very limited ways that feng shui can be of help except:- 1. Create an environment that will create less friction for potential conflicts. ie The colours scheme of the room if choosen correctly, can help to reduce conflict as two person each has a common binding element that can help to smoothen a relationship. 2. Dear Anon, 1. In Traditional Feng Shui, especially, if one uses Compass School Feng Shui, the `wealth corner' is subjective. 2. The rationale here is that there is not only one wealth sector but to achieve: maximum wealth or Luck potential; one has to balance all sectors and accord equal emphasis of attention on all sectors. 3. There is really no harm in placing a tin container that you cherish at any location of the home where you feel comfortable with. 4. In addition, this concept applies here " If one cannot see it; it no longer is effective". 5. Thus, coins kept in a tin would remain as a `tin box'. Usually, in Feng Shui, an item has to be visible for it `to work'. 6…

Dear Alejandra, Thank you for your question. It has to do with the concept of wealth collection. In general, an elevated land (on one side) is not as favourable as a depression. In many instances, the word elevation / or depression may be exaggerated. In many cases, they are gentle to the eye. Only on closer evaluation, does one notice the elevation or depression. A depression is preferred over an elevation. Under Shapes and Forms, a depression would suggest `wealth' retention. This is not the same as a physical building that is taller than the other. A building can be taller or lower than another building but, in such situations, there is no mention of how it sits on a l…

Hi, I work from home and my office is in NW (Death) sector. My working position is kind of in between N and NW. (N is my Health direction) The room is in the corner of the house, so half of it is in the North sector and half is in the NW sector. When Im working Im facing South, which is my Excellent direction. The door of the room faces East which is my Prosperity direction, and the windows are facing W and SW (Spook and Irritation). Although I dont know if those matter that much. I guess the sector the room is located in is the most important factor (and not the door etc.)? This is the only room I can use as my office, so I dont have much choice. Im…

  14. Dear Felicia, In my opinion, Feng Shui's specialty does not lie in resolving such problems as it more inclined towards other disiciplines like Zi Wei Dou Shu or Chinese Astrology. Astrology helps to understand the characteristics but in the end result it depends on the individuals or parties involved. In my sincere opinion, it would be nice to say that by placing or changing the layout, one could immediately stop the `problem'. Feng Shui may to a certain extend, reduce or improve luck but, as I mentioned, it would be best to look somewhere else for an answer. If not, one would end up very frustated if given false hope that, e.g. move the furniture to X location etc.. Som…

Dear Sumtra, 1. Thank you for sharing with all of us your personal experience with your encounter. 2. It also reminded me of a similar situation i.e. in East Malaysia where, there were tribes who lived in "long houses". 3. These long houses are really, really long. And because they are so long, compass directions are difficult to be taken correctly. 4. Some of these tribesmen in the past are head hunters or cannibals. 5. They do display shurken human heads (usually the modern generation) use animal heads such as monkey heads and hang them outside their house. 6. Actually, what you mentioned also has a parallel in Chinese homes. For example, in one of the Pictures under my…

Dear Felicity, 1. Generally, FS is holistic and maximum benefits is derived when we try to increase a large percentage of our `luck'. 2. FS is only a portion of the large pool of luck. Where FS is on earth luck. Usually, few are fortunate to get a quantum leap in such earth luck unless, everthing or majority of thins is `done right'. 3. But it does not beat a quantum leap in a home where, the house can "create" wealth. These excellent houses are rare. 4. If we do not have such luck (quantum luck) we can only try to:- Neutlise Sha Qi (or poison arrows) and enhance beneifical Qi (which is much lesser than the quantum leap) but it is a start. (Neutralising Sha Qi is to lo…

Dear Chee Siong, Please refer to the attached file. I have drawn three Options on how best to place a screen or divider (or divider with cabinet). Please refer below:- You only need to have a divider that covers the full (main door). In many instances, one can use e.g. a semi-circle or rounded edged divider so that it will not become an `arrow'. Alternatively, a screen can also be used. In both situations e.g. the screen and the rounded divider will not pose any problems or create a poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Gerald, I am not sure whether are you working or studying. Normally for a bedroom or a studio apartment, it should be more Yin or `state of rest'. Therefore the type of environment would depend on what you are currently doing i.e this depends on whether you are studying (plus your study habits) i.e. in a dormitory or you are working and returning home to rest. Other than the above, check the lighting in the room. The type of light could affect the environment around you. If you are a student and often study in the room, it is good to have a small hifi or portable radio in your room. Music does create a `more yang environment'. Here the essence of a small studio apart…

Dear Ryan, 1. Priority should be given to placing the bed in a `good' Shapes and Form position: 1.1. Usually, the bed is against a solid wall 1.2. Preferably it should not be on the same wall as the bedroom entrance door. 1.3. It should not be on the same wall as the toilet. 2. The above are the more important considerations for placing the bed. 3. Only after one has considered the `Shapes and Form' of bed placement, then should one consider, sleeping in a good sector or having the head face a good direction and not the other way around. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Amy, Usually, under Feng Shui, painting of the door is based on the following considerations: 1. Are there any threats to the frontage of the house? If there are threats to the main entrance: Example 1: If the main door is facing a cemetry or tombstones.. then it is good to paint the door in the most yang of colours i.e. RED. Red is also chosen as an auspicious colours e.g. Chamber of Commerce building or the colour of temple doors. Example 2: Singapore is considered in the `South' and generally, since South represent Fire element, Metal colour doors or White is a generally good colour for the door. 2. The front door colour should `harmonize' with the element of that…

  23. Dear Pauline, Lim Pauline wrote: Hi, Please advise what is the auspicious time on 23 Jan 2005, Mon for collection of key & open door. Thank you. Hope my reply isn't too late. If you have the auspicious hourly analysis, you can choose the best time that fit both person. However, sometimes we find this very impractical where most hours only fit one person and not the other. Or where the best hour is at odd hours (ie 3am). Since once you choosen a good day, generally all the hours will be good for you. So the more practical is go for better sounding ie 8.58am or 8.59am or 9.58am or 9.59am. Generally, these are the better hoursand yet practical hours toget most things …

Dear Susan, 1. In Traditional Feng Shui, in certain homes, that has been analysed using the Flying Star Chart, there may be specific combination of mountain star and water star which is based on the 81 interpretations that has reference to `legal' problems. 2. There is also one of the base numbers associated with it. 3. As Feng Shui is based on a holistic approach usually, a good FS practitioner would help one to maximise one's Earth Luck i.e. Feng Shui of the home. There are other factors or variables which include one's Ba Zhi or Pillars of Destiny involved. Here one tries to map out one's Heaven Luck and by understanding issues like our element and strength and luck p…
