Dear Anamika, In Chapter 5 of my book Applied Feng Shui Made Easy; you can safely use either method 1 or 2 as they are applicable even on or after 2001:- Method 1 ======= 100 - 1 = 99 99 / 9 = 11 remainder 0 Gua 0 or 9 (considered Gua 9) Method 2 ======= 0 + 1 = 1 10 - 1 = 9 Gua = 9 .................................................. Subject 2: Male, 1/1/2103 Method 1 ======== 100 - 3 = 97 97 / 9 = 10 remainder 7 Gua = 7 Method 2 ======= 0 + 3 = 3 10 - 3 = 7 Gua = 7 .................................................. Dear Anon, Frankly, this is difficult to solve considering that it flows under your foundation. In the past, a pagoda was erected - to help reduce the effects. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Julia, Actually, the only reason why people say TV isn't good for bedroom is because TV screen looks reflective. As such it is always related to like having a mirror effect. So the idea behind this is because it is said that when we sleep, our spirit leaves our body. Then when it sees a reflection of itself it will get shock. So that is why it is considered inauspicious. However, what if you are a person who, sees a mirror, comb your hair to make yourself look nice before leaving. So this is all a matter of tolerance. Some people like to look at themselves in a mirror, others don't. But it does not mean that it is at all bad but a matter of tolerance. Frankly, we ar…

Dear Anon, Thank you for bring up an interesting question. A career related to fire element is always considered as your wealth element. Here, there is a distinction between whether you are weak or not. Even if you are weak, your career with wealth is still the Fire element. If you are in a career related with Fire, for a weak water person, you need to strengthen your weak water with metal element to benefit from such a career. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Often, one can look at the Tung Shu to find out a general date for move-in. Most of the time, a very general date is the 1st lunar and/or the 15th lunar month of any months other than Qing Ming or the 7th month. As for the auspicious date under Geomancy.net, these are paid report(s) and not free. The report considers both clashes in the Tung Shu and individualised to the breadwinner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Camelia, Camelia Estrada wrote: I am in the process of buying a new home. Each home has a model number. Should I consider the model # as important as the future street number and evaluate it on your house # section? Frankly, house number plays the least amount of impact on the house luck. The external shapes and form and the feng shui of the house itself is most important. Most will focus on the unit number only if there are two units of the exact same layout ie one is #04-01 the other is #08-01. Say you have such a choice then, you want to check to see which is better luck. In most cases, auspicious number analysis can be subjective. For example, if going just…

Dear Jolene, Frankly, it is difficult or impractical to hide this corner. An alternative is to use a poster bed with screens or curtains ... but again, this may not be a practical solution. A metal wind chime can be used in such a situation to neutralise the corner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Actually, the best is one with a `metal' roof and with the clinger of an I-ching (circle with square) coin. However, from personal experience and because if it is to be used to neutralise #5 or multiples of it; many of the above mentioned wind chimes are too heavy to make any sound unless it happens to have heavy winds. This is because the copper rods with the coin clinger is too heavy. But, if one is currently using the above wind chime and other than for decoration; then this is fine. Thus, it is my opinion, that (FOR PRACTICAL) reasons i.e. if one wants to neutralise #5 or multiples of it or any other combinations with #3, #4 and even…

Hi, under the Eight House Theory, Interpreting the 'Intangible Force', it is mentioned that we overlay the Kua template of the houseowner onto the house plan according to the direction of the house. I am ratherconfused as it should be the'type' of house accordingto thedirection of the main door. So the eight directions will be at different location then. Canyou clarify?

Dear Anon, This can be a controversial subject. So should I take the GMT timezone into account? Our answer is no. You should not take the GMT timezone (+0800) etc to adjust your date of birth. This is because due to the many simplification in the GMT timezone, it only takes into account a shift in one of the location factor in the world. The more accurate way is to take the timezone in accordance with the moon location. However, for most cases, it is different to provide the actual location where you are born. Thus, if you provide an inaccurate locationfactor, you risk the chance of making the report LESS accurate than NOT adjusting anything at all. As mentioned, the ini…

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it is difficult to the energy from an existing home to a new home. 2. As you mentioned, the best `enegry' is the `energy' or the memories in one's mind and the minds of people who lived in that home. 3. For cleansing a home, especially a new home: 3.1 Often, salt is used or sprinkled more often in the toilet area or corners of the home. 3.2 For the Chinese, many use rice and sprinkle them throughout the home. 3.3 Others invite e.g. Priests or monks/nuns etc... 4. As for cleansing an existing home, this is not usually done by the previous home owner but rather the new home owners and may follow Steps 3.1 ... Warmest Regards, Cecil

I am considering this empty lot. The house-to-be will face SW, so the creek is right behind, connecting to a lake (Please see the picture creeklake.png). The main yellow shape indicate a potential house. The blue curvy line about 100 feet behind the house is the creek, and the lake between 300-400 feet away. The small yellow shape is a potential hobby house. The topography suggests that land is slightly higher at the front (SW) and slightly sloping towards the back. And the right side of the house is slightly higher than the left. First question: is this a good land to build a house? I am teaching at home, so I would like to use a sector towards the back of t…

Dear John, 1. The `coffin' position is one where when one enters a bedroom door, one could see a person's feet and the entire body and head. Therefore the full head, body and legs are therefore pointed towards the bedroom door. This is inauspicious. 2. In your case, based on what I can understand, (if due to space constraints or conditions of the layout); it is an acceptable position. The test is that if you `lift-up' your head, you should not see both feet through the bedroom door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jen, For a staircase, the major considerations are: 1. Number of steps 2. Avoid having the steps face the main door. (Here, a partition or screen should be used). 3. A set of staircase, should where possible have a landing or two landings if the upstairs is high. 4. Preferably avoid a circular staircase, especially if it can be seen from the main door. 5. Where possible, each step should be `covered' up and not `see thru' i.e. planks placed on each step. 6. For the position of the stairs, where possible it should preferably hug or share an external wall. 7. Anything else, will have to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. And therefore `it depends' on the full layout…

Dear Tegoeh, In my opinion, Feng Shui if properly applied can help boost one's luck i.e. health, harmony and prosperity. But, I would not recommend quick fix ideas; unless one has already been `blessed' with good earth luck e.g. excellent Shapes and Form Feng Shui of the house - which can give a quantum leap in Feng Shui. Otherwise, one may have to do much of the investigative work to try to boost one's Feng Shui. Therefore, if one is doing D.I.Y. Feng Shui then, one have to spent some time to:- 1. Shapes and Form Although we cannot change much of our external environment, we can try to find out and enhance or neutralise threats to the site/house from any poison arrows o…

Dear Mac, There are two sides of the coin to this:- 1. Naturally from a Feng Shui point of view - under symbolism, it is not favourable to display animals such as wolves. In the Chinese history, wolves are not revered because these animals are considered as both cruel and greedy. In addition, a wolf-in-sheep's clothing is also considered as a lecter or sex-stalker. 2. However, in many other countries or customs, it is perfectly alright to have (in the past) rug skins. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cindy, Would firstly appreciate that you do not post a message without any message content. Anyway, a house birthdate is defined as when the house was built (ie 1999 (would be a period 7 house). If there are renovations (especially major ones), ie hacking of walls or changing of interior structure of the house or expansion of the house etc. Such major renovations may cause a birthdate to be changed to a new period. So in such cases where major renovation was done after the house was built, the house might be converted to the year the major renovation was done. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, 1. Basically, a loupan should not be placed outside of a house or hung on the external wall. This is because if it is a real loupan, it may not withstand the prolonged weather condition. So far, I do not see anyone placing a real one let alone a replica piece. 2. Perhaps, maybe, the person advised you found that the First Heaven Sequence formation is found on it. This is why, you may have been advised to use it. Alternatively, perhaps, the person had heard that it can be used to `ward off evil'. Reference on the First Heaven Sequence formation:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm 3. For whatever reasons, a Ba Gua mirror would do the job more e…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- This Lunar Year until last day of January 2003; the Grand Duke of Jupiter is located at 180 degrees South. Next year he is located at 220 degrees South. During this period, a sector known as the Three Killings is opposite the Grand Duke. For example, if South is Fire Horse, than North is the Water Rat. During this period it is advisable not to disturb North since this is the three killings location as one may have bad luck for several years. There can be two issues:- 1. Make sure that if you are distrubing earth, avoid doing it especially at South sector of the house. As this is akin of disturbing the Grand Duke. 2. For a period 7 h…

Dear Masters Last August I had a big argument with my Manager, She's 29(rooster year) and expecting a baby in December. I am a 51 yr old rat, and my boss is a 43 yr old Monkey. The problem did not blown out of proportion between Manager and me, until the Boss brought us in to his office to slove the problem. He told the Manager that I had complained about her(which I didn't) and vice versa. The whole mediation did not go well and there were still issues that needhis attention, but he is sweeping this under the carpet. Till today my relationship with mymanager has gone beyond repair and that myboss had instigated and used this to his advantage. He will gainboth ways asthe…
